    excellent remaster models and textures are all touched up better sound design quality and the amount of accessibility options are impressive 40 is also a reasonable price fore one of the greatest games ever made

    Don't get me wrong, Metroid Prime is probably in my top 5 games of all time, and the fact that this is remade by Retro themselves is just fantastic. But this is running on Switch hardware, which was outdated when it launched. I'm not a huge graphics guy, and I'll go ahead and say they stayed super true to form with their attention to detail, but man is this console underpowered. Sure, it stays at 60 FPS and the models are nice and all, but if this is the best we can hope for for Prime 4, oh no. Oh, no. Nintendo, you have singlehandedly slowed down, halted, and possibly backslid gaming development, and forcing studios like Retro to remake their own games onto hamstrung hardware like this is just sad. I couldn't even tell a difference between this new game and the original at first - is that a testament to Retro, my nostalgia glasses, or the terrible hardware it's running on?… Expand

    Metroid Prime is still one of the greatest games I've ever played, and this remaster is no exception. Everything's been touched up faithfully to the original and improved in many ways to make playing on the Switch one of the best possible ways to experience this game, whether it be for the first time, or the hundredth time.

    It is indeed Metroid Prime. probably the only game series to get metroidvanias rights in the 3D space. Metroidvanias are not for everyone, but if that is what you are looking for you will find it here! Play this game if you want to feel truly alone in a hostile environment, and slowly but surely become the master of that environment before leaving.     This is not a remaster this is a REMAKE. I'm literally shocked how this game looks on a switch even connected to a 65Oled screen. Retro Studios are without a doubt one of the best developers in the world, I don't think nobody will believe this is a switch game , definitely they did sort of black magic to make this happen at 60fps, simply stunning.

    A phenomenal masterpiece. Better than the original in every way, Metroid Prime Remastered is a beautifully constructed exploration/action game with an immense lore hidden in every room. This is the gold standard of video games.

    Most of the negative reviews here are by Steam Deck owners and Nintendo haters. Don’t read those, they’re irrelevant! The game plays amazing! Would even say better than back on the GameCube! It looks way better too! Such a fun time with this gem!

    Definitely recommend this game to anyone who’d love to experience an amazing game!

    I remember playing this game and getting excited with the remaster for the switch. Idk, it's kind of weird because I don't get the vibe the same way and the bosses are too easy. The only thing interesting is to explore and get the items. Not worth the price.

    This remaster has brought one of the greatest games of all time to a modern console and updated the controls for modern times. The graphical upgrade is incredible and it's an absolute joy to be able to play this game again! I hope we get 2 and 3 remastered as well before 4 releases! Metroid Prime is back baby!

    Holds up looks great sounds better and cheep this is a great deal. Enjoy your time on talon 4. It has its flaws to bed sure but anything does if you look hard enough. Good games are so rare these days. Enjoy.

    One of the best games ever made, now even better! This remaster is maybe the best one out there, adding tons of new effects. This is how a remaster should be done.
    The gameplay remains the same as it is already perfect.

    This is objectively a better version than the GameCube and Wii versions. Twin stick controls work surprisingly well. Honestly don’t know how I played the game without them. And the little details. Like the water drops on the arm cannon switching direction when looking up and down is so nice. It still has all the problem I had with it as a kid.     Le travail est d'une qualité incroyable. Les jeux de lumières, les textures, les environnements ont entièrement été refaits. C'est la définition même de ce qu'est un remaster.

    Beaucoup de studio devraient s'en inspirer.

    This games brings back so many memories from 2002. Retro Studio really did an amazing job remaking the game with beautiful graphics & a few tweak to improve the accessibility. This is now hands down the best way to play Metroid Prime.

    This is a top 10 game of all time and has been remastered beyond what I thought was possible on the Switch. So happy I can play it on a modern console with dual stick controls!

For them to be bring it back in the modern age is amazing and $40 for a remaster and a game that broke the evolution for Metroid that is a steal!     Metroid Prime on Switch is not just a remaster. It’s a complete graphical overhaul, with new lightning, models, textures, detail, effects like ambient occlusion, antialiasing… what was already extraordinary, became an absolute masterpiece!!

    This is how you do a goddamn remaster, baby! Even if you are not a metroid fan, i think that this is the great introduction to the series. Unlike Skyward sword, this game is much cheaper, which is very good for my money situation. So please, buy this game. You will not regret it.

And the remaster has upgraded the visuals beyond anything I've seen in a Switch game to date. This is the best looking game on Switch.     I never liked FPS games or first person games in general. That game was the major exception, it's so perfect! It's sequels weren't quite as perfect as this one. And out of nowehere they shadowdropped a practically remade version of a already perfect game improving everything possible making this game way more beyond perfect. Just buy it.     Dear Nintendo, I'm no longer 17. Now I'm almost 37 years old and I could have a heart attack. Day one digital purchase and now I'm waiting for physical release just to be able to hold it during sleep.
    One of the few best games of all time served in the most beautiful remaster.
    I deeply thank you Nintendo & Retro Studios for this gift.

    10/10, the original was/is one of favourite games of all time and this remaster/remake is shaping up to become the same, I've been into video games since I could hold a joystick (spectrum kid here!) And I've seen some classics come and go and this is definitely a classic, I'd have preferred to seen it remade with 4k resolution and textures on something like the Xbox Series X but what retro10/10, the original was/is one of favourite games of all time and this remaster/remake is shaping up to become the same, I've been into video games since I could hold a joystick (spectrum kid here!) For that money you'd be right to expect a full blown remake, with new animations, new game modes, extras, and all those bells and whistles. This looks a lot more like one of those fan projects where someone recreates a classic game in Unreal Engine, and apart from that, not much has changed.

    That being said, I was a huge fan of the original game. It was a masterpiece back when it was first released. Playing it today, I can't help but notice a ton of issues that drain the fun out of the game. Frankly, it was hard to ignore those flaws 20 years ago, but I'm not the hardcore brainwashed Nintendo fanboy I used to be, unlike some other people.
    Starting with the combat: Lots of enemies and bosses that are annoying as hell to fight. Circle around them, or let them circle around you, wait for them to reveal their weak point, shoot, rinse and repeat. It gets old -really- fast, and even back in the day, was my biggest gripe with the Prime series. And that's with the -new- controls, so just imagine how it feels with the old, clunky controls.... Enemies respawn every damn time you enter a room, so just in case you can't get enough of circling around the same enemies over and over again, this game got you covered. Then you have those f****** mosquitoes everywhere. The biggest challenge is to not lose your patience and throw the controller into the damn TV screen. Enough said; the combat SUCKS.

    Then you have the controls: Clunky and unintuitive, sometimes unresponsive. Small things like rotating the map with the left stick, and panning the map with the right stick; The exact opposite of what everyone is used to. Constantly switching between different visors, beams and missiles. Press D-pad right to select the scanner, press ZR or D-pad UP to deselect the scanner? Those are small issues, but they add up to become one big issue.

    Scanning every room with your visor is one big waste of time, unless you want to read the same bits of text a million times. Don't be the person who wants to get every codex entry in this game. Who gives a damn about the Chozo, anyway?

    The level design and exploration is still amazing though, and that's where the game redeems itself. I just find all these raving reviews to be a bit much, considering that this is just another cash grab. It's a well enough excuse to play this classic game again, nothing more.    … Expand

    I'm sorry but not updating the save system makes this game an exercise in frustration and not worth my time. I'm not 12 yrs old and I don't have 4 hours to replay the same scene over and over because there are no saves and my health is slowly whittled down little by little.

You get meaningful upgrades if you do and the game has a mix of tight corridors and tunnels as well as more open spaces to jump around in. The ever expanding mix of abilities at your disposal break any kind of routine that could settle in andMetroid Prime remaster is a perfect reminder why open world games aren’t the holy grail of gaming. Bitte unbedingt noch die beiden Nachfolger für die Switch in dieser Qualität bringen. Einzige Kritikpunkte sind, dass z. B. ein Schnellreisesystem fehlt und man auch manchmal im Dunklen tappt, was den weiteren Fortschritt im Game angeht. Ansonsten zeigtDie Legende ist zurück!     Metroid Prime is already one of the best games of all time and they managed to upgrade all textures or redo all of them from scratch and it looks so beautiful. They also have added so many accessibility and control options that capsulates the modern feeling too. The price being 40$ instead of 60$ is just beautiful.
    Original metroid prime was 97 this game deserves even higher!!!

    It's like a breath of fresh air, there's nothing out there like this! And it's had the remaster it deserves, an absolutely faultless classic..

    Amazing love it what a surprise from Nintendo the graphics are great and the remastered version clearly has visuals that you don't see in the original GC version I have the original GC version but you do notice on the switch.Worth buying

The game runs at 60 fps just as the original did on GCN. Seems obvious , but these days there is remasters running at worse or lower FPS than the origional, see upcoming Tales of Symphonia as an example.     I usually avoid shooter games because I just suck at them. Always have. But I couldn't miss this gem.

    It looks and feels amazing. How they managed to pull this off on the switch is sorcery. And for people like me who suck at shooters, it feels less unforgiving than other shooters I've played. I still have my struggles, but I'm not getting frustrated by it. Controls work well.    I usually avoid shooter games because I just suck at them. Always have. But I couldn't miss this gem.

    I can't believe this is real! My favorite game of all time gets an amazing remaster that borders on remake. This is easily the best looking game on switch - truly beautiful and even more impressive at 60fps. Its nostalgic and new at the same time, major kudos for including every control scheme (each of which has its own pros and cons).     Amazing. Great intro which reminded me of super Metroid in every way, and beautiful visuals. The controls feel great on switch and the game is hard to put down. A must buy for anybody who enjoys games, especially this kind of game. It feels like Metroid‘s ocarina of time, in the best way possible.

    Amazing remaster that is honestly more of a complete REMAKE. The team at Retro Studios outdid themselves on this. I'm a huge Metroid fan and everything about this game feels fresh and new. Let's hope they remake the rest of the trilogy. Do yourself a favor and wear a pair of headphones playing this. All of the music and sounds have been redone top notch!!!

    Simply fantastic Remaster. The twin stick + Gyro controls are so well done the gameplay is now faster. The visuals are clean and the framerate is locked at a rock solid 60. This is still very much the original game so it speaks for itself, and with all the effort put into modernizing it, I'd say its deserves a shot at GOTY.

    Never played any Metroid Prime before, and my first Metroid was Dread that I really enjoyed. Here I got the same vibes, the ambiant sounds and the musics are very good, the game is very good looking without suffering any fps drops, making it one of the best games the switch can give us, I watched videos of the original, when I see the difference, I easily understand why some doesn'tNever played any Metroid Prime before, and my first Metroid was Dread that I really enjoyed.     My top one game from the cube , now we need the other two. The controls are perfect ,this is how remasters should be done . I’ve recently tried the Wii trilogy and you can really tell the huge improvement .

    The only thing it really has going for it is beautiful graphics. Being forced to fire 3 shots before a charge shot is a massive annoyance! Not only that, but forced aim-assist makes the entire game a gigantic cake walk. There isn’t really a point in aiming when you can blindly shoot 2-3 feet away from the enemy and still hit them.     Un juego exepcional una exelenete remasterizacion la mejor para mi ver nomas que no se si soy yo pero en cuestion de el sounctrack se me hace algo como que le falta calidad en cuestion de todo lo demas los diferentes tipos de controles como de GC, WII un hibrido y el de doble palanca son exelentes, la cuestion grafica es exelente

    I sold my Steam Deck to pay for this game and it was the best decision I ever made! I noticed most of the other people who owned one seemed to be: libertarian pirates who don't like/support the industry; people that only like graphics and don't really enjoy games; paedophiles; or all of the above. Thank you Nintendo and Metroid Prime for saving me and putting be back onto the right path ofI sold my Steam Deck to pay for this game and it was the best decision I ever made!     Everything I want in a game... lots of pretty environments to explore, puzzles to solve, and light combat. The music and sound effects are great. Modern gamers might laugh at the enemy AI, but it's perfect for me, a button masher. I loved it on GameCube but never finished it... I will this time though. Thanks Nintendo!

    Game makers: take note. Metroid Prime Remastered is a masterclass in how to modernize a masterpiece. Twenty years after the series made the transition to 3D, this remains a classic that has stood the test of time. The updated visuals prove that with some optimization and visual tricks, the Switch is really capable of delivering great games. In fact, this is one of prettier – if not the prettiest –Switch games to date.

    A classic returns in Metroid Prime Remastered. A complete visual overhaul makes the world of the game look better and more detailed than ever before. A new dual-stick control scheme makes the game approachable and palatable for new players, while veterans can opt for controls that mimic the original. Underneath it all, though, the masterpiece that is Metroid Prime Remains unchanged. Some more quality of life improvements could perhaps have been made, but it is a tiny complaint for a near-perfect remaster.
