Little Witch Nobeta is a fun blend of shooting and Souls mechanics, but the Switch port has some framerate issues.

Little Witch Nobeta is nothing special. It does nothing better than any other number of games I could name. Its gameplay becomes fairly stale the moment you realise how truly limited your options are, there’s no sense of character building beyond flat stat upgrades, and the level variety is so stale that if not for some puzzles, I would have been convinced that the levels were randomly generated. The game has some love put into it with the unlockable costumes and the small lore tidbits, but I just can’t recommend this to anyone who’s played a souls/ soulslike game before. Sure it’s fairly cheap, but there’s no shortage of cheap (and better) soulslikes.

Extremely cheap enemy bosses , input not registering, un dodgable attacks and it just become frustrating and no longer fun...These should clones are all the same, studios without Fromsoftwares balancing skills Butchering the formula, when if they just made a fun action game ballanced to a NORMAL difficulty the game would be much better. This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. I have mixed opinions about this game. The gameplay of casting spells is really fun against the enemies in the castle. Nobeta is cute and adorable has a anime witch. I like the idea of exploring the castle for hidden items that better explained the history of castle. This game definitely has some potential to be a really solid RPG shooter adventure. Unfortunately, the combat gameplay is the only good thing about this game. Some of the problems that this game lacks is a good story. There is huge lack of story in this game that makes completing it a disappointment. This game doesn't do a good job explaining anything about the bosses of who they are or anything else about their past.
I found out that there are video cutscenes that the developers removed out of the game because of censorship that better explained the characters story with deeper lore.

I dislike the different costumes you unlocked in this game too. It seem like cheap anime girl fan service to me to have available Nobeta change clothes. They should had added in way more storyline lore into this game has unlockables. This game should have had more characters to talk to inside the castle. The castle feels way to empty and boring to explore since it's mostly empty rooms with no people. Since this game is base off of casting spells for attacks it would have made sense to include in water and earth elements has attacks for spellcasting to unlock too. Also, there are two different difficulties in this game. One level of difficulty makes the game easy to play for beginners. The other difficulty makes the game extremely harder to handle. This game is very good with the combat, but the story is lackluster and boring. I do like the anime witch style look that Nobeta has without all of the unlockables costumes. The bosses in this game are mostly anime girls with the exception of the first boss fight and the secret optional boss fight in this game. My recommendations is that it's an alright game. It's not a terrible game, but it's not that good either this game. It's hard to recommend this game to anyone because it just lacks so much of what makes an adventure RPG game is supposed to have.
