Fun game but not as strong as previous Lego installments. Falls victim to the "open world" industry standard. Not worth the 60 dollar price tag.
    Pros:
-Tight and fun gunplay/Light Saber controls -Writing and visual gags are very funny -Graphics can be gorgeous at times -Massive open world (if you are into that) -INSANE amount of characters Cons: -No character customization -Actual levels

-Actual levels are short and boring
-The open world feels very empty
-Character upgrades are superficial and don't really matter much
-Cutscenes are waaaay too long and too numerous
-UI is janky, laggy, and overwhelming

    TL;DR:
Just play complete Saga. The entire time I felt like I was just walking from cutscene to cutscene

I'm glad to see they are able to port PS3 games over to the Switch! Wait, they didn't? Oh, LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga is new? Ah, well, perhaps they made this game look like a PS3 game on purpose? I mean, I know the Switch has to cut corners here and there, but this is a bit embarrassing for Nintendo. I really wish I had purchased this game on any system other than the Switch. NumerousI'm glad to see they are able to port PS3 games over to the Switch! Wait, they didn't? I mean, I know the Switch has to cut corners here and there, but this is a bit embarrassing for Nintendo. I really wish I had purchased this game on any system other than the Switch. Numerous crashes to home screen, and very choppy game play in larger areas. If you're okay with graphics from over a decade ago, and don't mind a few crashes, long load times, and occasionally choppy game play, go ahead and get it. Otherwise, the game is a fun LEGO game, but just meant to be played on any other system you can play on. Expand

Unfortunately, the graphics are underwhelming even for a Switch game. The game is littered with bugs. It stopped working entirely a couple of times which made me lose my progress (I don't believe it happened in any other Switch game I played). Over-hyped, terrible performance even though it is running at low resolution with basic, ps3 level graphics. Games like Zelda and Mario kart 8 deluxe run way better than this does and this is a Lego game! The gameplay is boring and repetitive, puzzles do not give a satisfactory feeling when solved.

You shoul add an online mode or remove the split screen, it is so bad to see a split screen in 2022

This game is simply not good. You often get stuck as there are no clear instructions how to progress from area to area and the gameplay is just not as good as the other Lego games. Don't bother with this one; you will waste more money than you should. Get it on sale if you must.

For me, LEGO games are couch coop only. They always were fun wind down with friends games.

Split screen performance is unbearably laggy, Anti aliasing seems buggy and draws glittering lines on smoothed edges. The limited screen space and camera position combine badly, puzzles are boring, the open world sections are confusing and aimless.
The "next story checkpoint" area and arrow are extremely annoying. Do you want me to explore or not?
In coop, some Tutorial boxes are offscreen, and some tutorial menus completely unnavigatable.
The skillpoint system makes the game more complicated and gives you no impactful benefit. I wish i could return this pile of ***, sadly that's not possible.
Completely missed the mark what lego games represented. AND PLAYTEST YOUR GAMES, if you sell them for 60 Euros. Scammers!

They did a great job at making a big star wars game for sure, but they did not even try to optimize it for the switch, it's extremely laggy and even crashes sometimes when you play in multiplayer.

Honestly quite disappointing. While the main levels are ok and the memes are really fun, the side content really falls off due to it just being copy and paste sidequests on different planets. Saying the game has hundreds of playable characters is also kind of a stretch, it's more like 5 characters with a lot of reskins. It is good, but nowhere near the other classic lego games.

Traveller's Tales has outdone themselves with this new LEGO Star Wars. Their attention to detail and wide variety of activities, coupled with the expansive environments, makes for a fun-filled return to that galaxy far, far away. [Issue #59 – May/June 2022, p. 75]

Overall though there’s actually very little to criticise about The Skywalker Saga. It’s a perfectly constructed love letter to a series of films that will appeal to young and old alike. The force is strong in this one.

LEGO Star Wars on Nintendo Switch is the final compilation of the Skywalker story with all its nine episodes, humorously and faithfully depicted. An entertaining action adventure all around.
