Sep 12, 2017League of Evil has its faults, but it more than makes up for them through its robust and accessible level editor. While it’s a six year port that shows its age, it’s still a great way to get your twitch-reflex platformer fix.

Sep 8, 2017At its best, League of Evil is a simple but challenging ride suited to short bursts of play. One that controls exceptionally, but struggles to fully amaze where its peers do so elsewhere.

Oct 1, 2017The similarities with Super Meat Boy are undeniable, but that aside, League of Evil is fun and challenging, and it's good choice if you don't mind its lack of originality.

Aug 31, 2017All in all League of Evil is a very hard but ultimately just simply okay platformer. Even when its tendrils sunk into me, technical hiccups like unresponsive controls and shoddy level design, accompanied with a fairly obtuse level constructor, held this back from being a true gem on the eShop. As a fan of difficult platformers, I certainly enjoyed my time, but if that's not up your alley, you might want to steer clear of this flawed (but fun) title.

Aug 27, 2017League of Evil is a simplistic 2D platformer that's clearly inspired by Super Meat Boy. The thing is, without any unique gameplay hooks, it ends up being a mostly unappealing experience that pales in comparison to its genre counterparts.
-
Nov 5, 2017League of Evil is simple and competent enough. While it gets the basics right, it doesn't go far enough to become memorable or to stand above its peers. The growing catalog of platformers for the Nintendo Switch make this game a less appealing choice and its confusing level editor make League of Evil a game that can be easily overlooked.

Sep 12, 2017It saddens me to say that League of Evil is just a simple platformer game and not much more. On a platform which doesn’t have a port of Super Meat Boy, League of Evil fills its niche serviceably – but it’s not a glowing example of its genre and it’s not something I can recommend easily unless you absolutely must have a platformer on your system. And even then you've got Shantae and Shovel Knight sitting there waiting to be played instead.
-
Aug 30, 2017League of Evil does somewhat scratch that itch for challenging 2D platforming, but it does the bare minimum to do so. The gameplay is as minimalistic as it gets to the point that it hurts more than helps, and the graphics makes it too obvious that this is originally an iOS game with some years on its neck. While it has a neat level editor, it does not solve the too basic gameplay, and there are far better options out there for people pining for a challenging 2D platformer.
