    Fear Effect Sedna marks the return of a well-regarded series from the early days of the 21st century. Featuring enjoyable animation cut scenes and a quality soundtrack, this Nintendo Switch version ends up losing to its counterparts when played in handheld mode, as many of the details become too small to be visible on the screen. Also the game's plot does not attempt to make a bridge to new players, who won't feel a connection with the game's story and its strategic component is less interesting than expected.

    Fear Effect: Sedna is a flawed amalgam of disparate parts. It fails to wholly convince as an action, strategy or stealth game, and the delivery of its story is a little stilted. However, the sheer variety of its mix and its fresh visual style may prove enough to keep you playing through.

    I was a big fan of fear effect on the ps1 but this version is a mis-step imho. The change from third person to isometric makes no sense and the mechanic involved in pausing the game to send issue characters commands (like in xcom) is completely redundant. The game is quite unbalanced as well, I breezed through the game before getting stuck on the first boss.… Full Review »

Sedna is an indie revival of a dormant IP, and it’s bound to come with some inherent development limitations, and yet Sushee has managed to craft an original, ambitious, and wholly satisfying experience in a timely fashion. That’s far more than most indie studios have accomplished, especially following unrealistically lofty crowdfunding campaigns. Sushee has preserved the aesthetics and character personalities that made us love the original Fear Effect games on PlayStation. There’s a change in gameplay perspective not unlike another cyberpunk classic Shadowrun, and while quite different from the originals, it suits the series perfectly. Combat is a bit clunky at times, especially when trying to use stealth, but puzzles are as clever and fun as they are challenging. I especially love the death cutscenes, which make repeated failures a welcome learning experience instead of a source of frustration. The game shines brightest on Switch in my opinion, but PS4 is solid too. Frankly, I’ve enjoyed Fear Effect Sedna far more than the sum of its parts and more than I expected even after I backed the campaign. That’s in no small part due to nostalgia, but Sushee still deserves the credit for managing to capture that feeling almost 2 decades later.… Full Review »

    il gioco non è malaccio, ottimi intermezzi animati, la giusta dose di esplorazione ed un medio livello di complessità con puzzle game
