Oct 8, 2017The great controls increase immersion, but can't balance out the monotonous battles. Only recommended for DBZ fans.

Oct 9, 2017Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for the Switch offers its own set of unique features, only available for the Nintendo Switch in order to make up for its lacking power.

Sep 22, 2017What you lack in performance, you make up for in portability however. Being able to take the game out and about with you suits the way you consistently chip away at battles and roll through the Story mode. It’s hard to recommend the Switch game to anyone that’s already bought it, but for anime fans looking for something on their Switch to play out their shouty, Ki-fuelled fantasies on, this is the perfect offering.

Sep 20, 2017The Switch conversion of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 shines when played on the go, as the image quality suffers a little on the big screen due to jagged edges and a pretty strong aliasing. The game itself it’s more or less the same that we played on other platforms: a strong fan service.

Sep 20, 2017Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch is a totally serviceable port of the original game released on PS4/Xbox One/PC. Even if the game's visuals take a hit on Nintendo's console, the fact that you can now take Xenoverse 2 everywhere with you is a big plus. If you have the Switch, like Dragon Ball Z and missed Xenoverse 2's original release, you could do a lot worse than to give the game a shot.

Dec 20, 2017Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a massive experience for fans that is fun to play and packed with content. On the flip side, the combat can quickly get repetitive, and the need for grinding doesn't help, either. Add a few technical hiccups, and the Nintendo Switch version is the least desirable one of all. It's still playable and enjoyable on the hybrid device, but it's not as good of an experience as on the other systems. Some may prefer the mobility of the Switch system over the downsides, but if you have the choice and don't care for mobility, I'd highly recommend picking up the PC, PS4 or Xbox One version of Xenoverse 2.

Sep 30, 2017Dragonball Xenoverse 2 on the Nintendo Switch is a port and only adds a slight layer on uniqueness to an already available game on other consoles.

Oct 12, 2017It's not a great game, but it does enough to deserve its license.

Sep 29, 2017Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was an entertaining but flawed game when it was released last year and it remains such on Nintendo Switch. If anything, this port feels like the worst version to pick up, with numerous graphical sacrifices and severe frame rate issues in the hub city whilst playing on the handheld mode. It does include the main story quests from the first game so newcomers won’t miss out on anything (even though the sequel’s story is similar), but the newly-added motion controls, while a novel idea, are far from the ideal way to play the game. The only appealing aspect for someone who has already enjoyed Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is that this version allows you to play it on the go, but even then it’s a messy port. For those new to the series, this is a solid entry point, but don’t expect it to set your world on fire.
