    This is a solid Animal Crossing game, but it lacks a lot of content the others had. By the time the updates came out I had fallen off of it, wish the content was there at launch.

    The game, as a representative of the Animal Crossing series, offers interesting gameplay and is highly addictive.     Playing slowly every day, my ultimate goal is to get either Ankha or Marshall as a villager. Better both at the same time. I catch butterflies, communicate with the inhabitants, a very good game as an addition to something else.

    The best Animal Crossing game I have played. I've played other Animal Crossing games before, but this one tops out as the best. You get to relax on an island while doing other tasks for Tom Nook and Isabelle. The new DLC they released recently is very cool and the fact that you can carry the new features you did there to your island is awesome.     I absolutely love Animal Crossing New Horizons. The graphics are gorgeous and I have fond memories of creating my custom island through quarantine. However, I can't say this game is better than New Leaf. Once I got burned out, I really got burned out. I never had that problem with New Leaf. If I went back to New Leaf, I would love it. If I came back to New Horizons, I'd be terrified toI absolutely love Animal Crossing New Horizons. The graphics are gorgeous and I have fond memories of creating my custom island through quarantine. If I came back to New Horizons, I'd be terrified to open the tab. The reason why New Horizons felt dry after a while was because the game didn't do anything new when I unlocked K K Slider. After that you get terraforming which is really nice. I used terraforming for a couple days, I got content with my island's layout and that was it. However, don't take this review as me disliking the game because I clearly don't. It's so beautiful and relaxing and I'd recommend it highly for fans.… Expand

    This game is boring. All you do is fish and talk to annoying villagers while collecting every single thing because I can't just sell something I might want to use it later. That being said this is the best game ever.

    It's a fun game, see the island evolving, chat with characters and etc. The problem is that you have to wait long times to get better in the game, also, you get borred some time, so, don't get ACNH as your 1st game, but if you alredy have a game, buy it if it's ok to you wait 2 days to a in-game thing get done (sometimes) buy it.

    This game looks a bit cute for adults to play like most Nintendo games, however the gameplay is totally awesome and extremely addictive! Nintendo has put a LOT of work into Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the amount of thought and detail put into the game is truly amazing, it's very highly polished and, totally bug free (coding wise lol), and looks incredible on the Switch OLED screen.This game looks a bit cute for adults to play like most Nintendo games, however the gameplay is totally awesome and extremely addictive! Nintendo has put a LOT of work into Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the amount of thought and detail put into the game is truly amazing, it's very highly polished and, totally bug free (coding wise lol), and looks incredible on the Switch OLED screen.     This is a amazing game with plenty of fun to be had! But the issue comes if you started with the game where it becomes less appealing and more of a chore to play and hard to come back too and almost overwhelming with there now being lots of weeds and new features! Overall its a fun game i just wish the game came out with all the content at the start rather than adding them later

    I haven't really played this game in quite some time. It really got me through parts of 2020, being a very relaxing town-building/decorating game. Visiting other people's islands is a nice feature and I have a lot of great memories because of it, but it would be foolish to say the online is good. The lack of updates has been disappointing for someone who really liked filling out the museum with fish, art, insects, and fossils. Design features for the museum and additional artifacts to collect would definitely bring me back, but it seems they have no interest. If you enjoy a slow-paced relaxing experience with plenty of design options this game is definitely for you though. I had a lot of fun with this and the free DLC through switch online is actually pretty great if you like decorating.

    Negative points for the single island "feature" though. It's still a baffling decision, like why not allow accounts the option to choose between joining an old island and making a new one?    … Expand

    It's frustrating how this is simultaneously the best entry in the series while still lacking a ton of features that made the others so great. I can say I've sunk over 400 hours into New Horizons alone, which is far more than what can be said for any in the series since the original. New Leaf is cool, but can you play it on a TV? Nope.

    While a wonderful experience, I feel this game is incomplete without some of the quality of life changes that were made in the previous game. While you will no doubt find yourself pulled into this experience for 100 hours or so, at the end, you may feel it shallow.     When lockdown first started I was looking for something to play and everyone was playing this. I was 32 and thought it wasn’t for me but I gave it a go and 250 hours later I can definitely say I’m a fan of this franchise now. I love the creativity it affords you. I love sport so I made a soccer field and a sports store with custom jerseys. I visited other people to get all the fruit. IWhen lockdown first started I was looking for something to play and everyone was playing this.     I love the game it is extremely relaxing and fun! Can be quite hard to find items but trading sites like nookazon make it easy! It can be a wee hit grindy tho! But thats fine cuz in quartine it helped pass the time!

    It's nice and fun the first few hours, when you spend more than 10/15 hours depending on the rhythm it becomes repetitive and boring (in my case obviously). There comes a point where the only thing you can do every day is go in, take the fruits and go out, on the fifth day you stop going in.     The memories this game and I share are some of the best gaming memories I've ever had, period. I can never truly dismis this game for that alone, and I still enjoy hoping back on it from time to time with friends online. Truly one of the best animal crossing games, not as good as new leaf, but still a good time.

And releasing a social hangout game in the COVID-19 pandemic was the best move that Nintendo could have ever done, and they knew it.    New Horizons is an example of how to NOT manage a game.
    The game starts like any other AC game. And releasing a social hangout game in the COVID-19 pandemic was the best move that Nintendo could have ever done, and they knew it. They knew that the game could potentially be one of the biggest games of all time. But Nintendo did not manage it correctly.
    The game offers the player freedom. Now, this is a good thing. The problem is that this game offers the player TOO MUCH freedom. You shouldn't be able to modify your villagers house, you shouldn't be able to place whatever furniture you feel like. The game should be called Animal Crossing: New Utopia, because you basically just create whatever island you feel like. Mix it with the ridiculously low amount of content compared to NL, lame updates and you've got the recipe for a disaster. I cannot manage to place it below a 6 because I've still enjoyed the game, and the first few weeks are great. But after that, it just becomes what I've stated before. And it is kinda sad, because it had the potential to be the best AC game yet.    … Expand

    After hearing the praises of this game, I caved in and bought it and well I thought it was alright, The art style is clean and the characters are fun but I personally didn't click as well as others but meeting with friends for holiday events was all I could've asked for.

    I did not think that the newest animal crossing game would be so fun, relaxing AND groundbreaking! This game is one of the games that made 2020 (the covid-19 pandemic) fun. This should be 100% a must buy for the Nintendo switch.

    New Horizons is a beautiful game, and came out at a time where people needed a place to find comfort in. This game is filled to the brim with personality! The gameplay is relaxing and addicting, the characters are fun and goofy, and decorating your house is a lovely way to pass time!

    This is a great game, but it's killed in the late game where there's not really much to do. This game could've benefitted from having more content. The game basically died off because there wasn't enough to do. It's a very fun and addicting game, so it's easy to reach a point where there's no goals besides your personal goals and once you reach those, the game is basically over for you.

    But it sucks that you can only have 1 island per console. I spent so many hours on my island and the game was fun but now I have nothing to do because I don't want to reset my 140 hour island and they don't update at all anymore. I wish I could make a second island and enjoy the game again.

    I will say that this game was very fun during covid and super refreshing. However when they quickly decided to stop updating after a year and re release the same updates every season thats when I quickly began to realize that nintendo did not care about this game as much as we did.

I think the ONLY TWO things wrong with this game is that it is very expensive and, very slow at times but that is how the game is supposed to be. It is a nice relaxing time and I would recommend this to anyone who has a stressful life. Anyone who thinks this game is bad    I love this game.

    the game is awesome, tbh the people who rate it low are trolls or people who don't like the progression system, if you don't like being unable to grind, don't buy a 60$ game where your limited to a few hours a day. This game is very good, and has a peaceful feel that I enjoy, the only flaw is its limits to grinding, but again, if you like grinding, then don't buy it, it ain't for you

    A very short story. After passing it, I don't want to go into the game, there is no motivation. I don't see any point in playing for the sake of arranging the island and buying new things for the interior. This is for those who do not save their time.

    Animal Crossing New Horizons is basically perfect. Full of wholesome content that helped us cope with the COVID-19 pandemics, the game keeps the heart of its predecessors while innovating enough to make it unique. It may not have won Game of the Year but it'll be the game we all remember from 2020, for sure.
