Zombie is a dead rotten body, that has been re-animated to come back from the dead and move really slowly and has only the basic instinct of hunger but for some reason towards human flesh.
The first zombies I ever saw was in fact in a resident evil 1 game long time ago when I was little.
Later I saw night of the living dead and then the so horrible resident evil movies. Regrettable but true!
Later came the mother of all zombie based entertainment "The walking dead!".
My point here being, that the only reason why I would pick up a resident evil game from the store and play it would be: so that I can enjoy running around in a post apocalyptic city and kill as many of these flesh eating monsters as I can playing as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, Leon Kenedy or Barry Burtton!
Most important elements of a Resident evil brand is to nail the zombies and the characters, some kind of a story and to build all this around the survival horror genre. Right?

Okay let's go in to this game.
Let's start with this new kind of mercenaries now called "The raid mode" for unknown reason.
Ice and fire and electric zombies who are running and making longer jumps than the olympic athletes long jump champions! Inside a force field! Trying to hammer you with a melee weapon more skillfully than a samurai in a in tenchu game! Not to mention the big cyclop catapulting the green gooey stuff to your face or the re animation of a downed zombie whos gonna explode all over your face like a firecracker!
What is that stuff? Some acid or just really hot mustard burning your eyes?

Last but not least! The invisible huge fly with some sort of teeth who's gonna have you for dinner in a blink of an eye, mid air! Cause some how it uses some stealth technology from metal gear solid!
What kind of zombies are these?
They have levels like in final fantasy game and energy bars too!
Okay so all the elements of a zombie game I correct: "Resident evil" game has been destroyed!
    Don't get me wrong!
It's really fun and addictive and I've been playing this Raid mode now without a pause for many days! Trying to unlock the samurai sword.
    Yes you heard right!
But what beats me the most is, that why make this a resident evil brand?
Why not just call it "Blood and gore" or "Final zobies fantasy"
Just change the names of the characters and there you go!

What comes of the story mode?
Voice acting and the story itself is some a class stuff!
The survival horror theme is there!
    But.
My friends bought me this game for my birthday present, cause in the back of the label there was mentioned that split screen mode is available!
    Well yes it's there!
But I don't seem to understand why, cause in both sides of the story only the other one can fight and kill zombies.
The other one can finish them off with a crowbar or... ... ... Point them out with a finger!
"Look a monster is there!" Cause you could not see them by yourself?
Just imagine in your head a cat fight between Natalia and Ellie from the last of us!
    Yeah!
So the the grand fun exciting moment when we grabbed those controllers and fired up the new split screed experience went down to the toilet very fast,
Well I agree that this feature is not important here cause the whole point of this review was to explain how good of a resident evil game this is.
But why on earth make the slit screen if the other one can just suck lollipops and point a finger at a zombie?
Last time it was Resident evil 5 and 6 with Chris and Sheva, or other kick ass partners taking on the whole city!
Well not much survival horror there but at least nobody felt pointless or useless thru the campaign mode.
I guess that's the point of split screen? Team work like army of two.

Is it a fun addictive monster fantasy game with many days of playable content? Yes!
Is it a good resident evil entry? No
Is it a good zombie entry? No there's no zombies here!
Can I recommend this? 100 times yes! Just try to forget the resident evil and your in for a lot of fun!

    Do not.

Honestly I think this game is slightly above the original Revelations. I love the gaps it fills in in the universe, and I love all the new characters that get introduced. Some of the areas are very atmospheric and feature music that sets the mood for the creepy atmosphere almost perfectly. However, this aspect is spoiled in the Vita version due to sound compression. There's also set dressing that's missing in that version that I think ads a lot to the overall experience. Sadly, there are still some dumb moments that take me out of the immersion personally. It's not quite Resident Evil 4, but it's damn close.

The gameplay here is some of the best the series has to offer, and it accents this game's Raid mode perfectly. While a lot of level design assets get recycled over and over again in Raid mode, the enjoyable gameplay loop makes it fun to grind despite the repetition. Having the game connected to ResidentEvil.Net and being able to participate in events and reap the rewards also makes the grind less painful (Something the Vita version completely lacks.)

Overall, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a great game in it's own right, but do not play the gimped Vita port. If you're looking for an intense Horror experience, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a great action game with heavy Horror elements, this is for you.

...That's my review for the PC version, and essentially every other version. I have heard that the switch combo of Revelations 1+2 has more content, and Vita owners should honestly play this game there, because this port to Vita is disappointing. I played this after the patch and while playable, it is no way to experience this game. Bad controls and a lack of support for the HORI Trigger grips is embarrassing and drag this game down quite a bit on their own, but the bad sound compression that completely destroy the atmosphere of some areas is unforgivable. MOST of the game is playable until you hit higher rank raid mode stages where the framerate takes a huge dive from too many enemies being on screen. Machine guns are near unusable (espically in raid mode) due to recoil not being adjusted to account for the inconsistent frame rate (In raid mode this can be fixed slightly with the use of homing ammo parts.) There is also a surprising lack of optimization, some raid mode stages contain weather effects that cause slowdown that should honestly just be removed for this version. Your health being at low levels also tank the game's performance due to the damage overlay (yes really, it was dumb in the base game and it's bad here. it makes no sense espically since Revelations 1 on 3ds has a similar effect that does not affect performance.) The load times for this version are also terrible, I have a weaker computer that can run this at a decent framerate on low settings (about what this version does) yet the load times on Vita are 7 to 8 times longer and can take up to 40 seconds each, especially in Raid Mode.

While having no content cut outside of ResidentEvil.Net functionality might seem appealing, the game's technical performance, unintuitive control scheme, and audio compression hamper this rather underrated Resident Evil experience. While I can respect Capcom for putting this on Vita for Sony Handheld fans, this port just isn't up to snuff. You should play this elsewhere. There's better Vita games out there than this.

Sadly, Revelations 2 on the PS Vita isn't the step in the right direction that the PlayStation 4 version was. Clumsy controls, a lousy framerate and - to put it bluntly - ugly graphics make this yet another forgettable Vita effort.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 on PS Vita is a flawed port that only comes recommended if it’s your sole option of playing the game.

It won't wow you, and it won't disappoint you: it'll basically just kind of be there.
