  • Summary: Dive into a surreal 1970s gameworld and save San Francisco from a sinister threat.

Play as Barb, and use the Oscillator to capture and reapply the physical traits of objects to solve mind-bending environmental platforming puzzles.

Yerba Buena is a decent physics-based puzzler, with some great ideas that often land and a story that kept me interested despite a few frustrations.

Yerba Buena is a decent little puzzle game with a good basic concept, which unfortunately doesn't quite take off, and it all ends up feeling more like hard work than entertainment and that's a shame. And the reasonable price tag of just under £21 can't change that.

Whilst initially impressive in its concept, Yerba Buena falters in its longevity. The puzzles soon become attrition, with slight mistakes setting players back, as well as a plot and overall tone that tries too had to be subversive. Fun if this is your go-to genre, but unlikely to draw in the unitiated.
