Abducted, dazed, and slightly confused, prepare for your unexpected enrollment into the Startenders Academy. Your goal, apparently, is to create bizarre beverages for colourful customers in the hope that no one notices you haven't the slightest clue what's going on.

Let loose with a cocktail shaker, a collection of mad machinery, and an abundance of crazy ingredients to mix, shake and serve your way across the universe.

It’s good fun, but needs a little bit of tweaking to get the positional stuff right, and needs a bit more room for a stationary VR game than I’d like. If you like titles like Vacation and/or Job Simulator, this’ll be right up your street, and has a good feel to it, with plenty of “jobs” to keep you going for some time.

During our playthrough, however, we encountered several bugs with machinery getting stuck and items falling through the bar and not resetting to their default positions, making it impossible to complete orders. All the problems we found were solved with a quick restart of the level, but when it occurred multiple times it turned out to be quite the inconvenience. We also noticed the lack of any implementation of PSVR2’s newest features: headset haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and eye-tracking all appearing to be absent from this PSVR port.

Startenders begins its life on the PSVR 2 with unfortunate technical issues. Those aside, this is still a job simulator game. It's done well enough when it works, but the game loop doesn't offer much else. It has an attractive price point for what it is, but wait for a patch before jumping in.

I had a good time with Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending but it can be a rather finicky and repetitive affair so keep that in mind.

There are a lot of game mechanics that all work together excellently to create an amazing bartending experience. Different types of drinks, mini refinement lines (like antimatter cut, then juiced) upgradable machines, unlockable ingredients allowing for very advanced drinks, and even a decent plot. This game is also relatively short but gives you plenty of opportunity to do everything you'd want to do. It doesn't overstay its welcome, by the time it's completely over you shouldn't feel too burnt out, even if you grind out the platinum. I'd highly recommend this game. Expand

The drinks get incredibly complicated, and it takes me back to my food service days. There's also plenty of other fun side stuff to do. Not just making drinks. It might get a little boring after a bit, but it's still very well done. Expand
