Shing! is a fun and innovative co-op beat 'em up that has had its potential unleashed on PS5. While most elements remain the same, the upgrade in resolution and general technical fixes, make the game a significantly more immersive experience than the PS4 version. Certainly, the PS5 version is the more recommendable for those looking for a good co-op game full of wise-cracking ninja fun.

Requires you to use the right thumbstick to execute moves and it works wonderfully. With that said, the game allows you to jump, block, dodge using the top buttons (L1/L2/R1/R2) and also the front facing buttons (X, O, etc.) and I think having the option using the front-facing buttons really messed it up for most people, especially critics it seems. They probably would take their thumb off the right stick to do basic actions which would make combat very difficult and clunky. The game should have also had a better tutorial for pulling off moves. It's not clear exactly how to pull off a special without practicing it a few times yourself. So make sure you are using top buttons for those actions, keep your thumb on the right stick and practice a few times before combat.

Other than that, it's got good graphics for an indie and smooth animations. Nice enemy and boss variety too. Once you get the hang of it it's difficult to put down because you feel like it's all up to your skill and focus to win and it feels very rewarding to do so.

    It’s bad.
I played for about five minutes before turning it off.
The fighting felt like a game I could give my two year old grandson.
    Just awful
