    Super challenging and addictive game, which deserves all the praise it gets. The gameplay is super tight, snappy and responsive. The Dualsense and 3D audio round this up to the best gameplay experience one will ever have. The game is quite difficult, which makes you really want to get better at it. The story is super interesting and hooks you very early. It leaves you with aot of questionsSuper challenging and addictive game, which deserves all the praise it gets.     I really liked the game, not only the gameplay, but the lore too, it is cool to see different types of enemies depending on the biome. Really good roguelike game, it's hard, but not that hard if you know what i mean.     Great game , very fun to play
    Not only feels good play , it looks amazing Utilises the dualsense to all its feature Interlining story , my only problem is not enough metal
    With such a game its a shame it doesn't have a metal playlist , I used my own song and it fits perfectly .

    This was my first rogue like. I was very scared, because a get very frustated playing souls games, but i liked them. Imagine my surprise when this not happen with Returnal. I never get frustated. I died, like 20 times in the hole game, most of the deaths were before getting into the bosses, but in each one of them i feel like i was progressing. I was playing better, undesrstanding theThis was my first rogue like. I was very scared, because a get very frustated playing souls games, but i liked them. Imagine my surprise when this not happen with Returnal. I never get frustated. I died, like 20 times in the hole game, most of the deaths were before getting into the bosses, but in each one of them i feel like i was progressing. I was playing better, undesrstanding the patterns of the enemies better, making the next try i little bit easy. The graphics, the story, the atmosphere, all beautiful, an excelent game.… Expand

    I hope more of that is coming PlayStation! Phenomenal title! I have been waiting and waiting for a game that is challenging, mysterious, and one that is constantly reminding me of classic games, where i actually had to put some real effort and skills, in order to progress further. If you are a Sci-Fi shooter fan in search for a true gaming dare this title is for you! Look out for the yellow eyes!

    Un buen juego, recomendado probarlo ahora que esta en los servicios play station plus. Es un juego para un grupo selecto de jugadores, pero sin duda vale la pena

    The atmoshpere and graphics are top notch. The feeling is like the movie prometheus and that is awesome in my book. The no saving option is a risk in case of lock up/crash but is a fun new way to think. Gameplay is well written and you wanna know more about this mystical place.

    This is the GOTY of ps5 no doubt. Stunning experience: sound, story, shooting, world, visuals, DualSense etc. Its my first roguelike game and I couldnt get enough of it. The story is also awesome, very interesting.

    Intensives Gameplay trifft auf solide Grafik. Story ist ganz interessant, wäre aber mehr drin gewesen. Loben sollte man das Gameplay, das ist intensiv und sehr gut umgesetzt. Leider bietet es wenig Wiederspielwert ist aber trotzdem ein Highlight auf der PS5. 8/10

I wasn't an FPS (much less a roguelite) player... after Eternal I think I became one (FPS. Roguelite not yet). Find out about File Save.     Not suited for your casual game evening. This game will get you angry, mad, happy, emotional, ... Last boss fight my palms were sweaty, I heard my heart beat in my headphone... I can't remember for any game to get me this excited.

    A rogue like masterpiece. The minute to minute gameplay is truly next gen, and the unforgiving difficulty lends to what has been the most frustrating and rewarding game experience since the original Demon’s Souls and Etrian Odyssey games. You will want to give up, but persist and you’ll be rewarded. Play if you enjoy: Hades

    Stylish and slick roguelite/shooter action game. Hidden within is a keenly crafted plot. Returnal is a challenging and bold meditation on the meaning of death and inevitability. Forcing you to become part of a cycle of gameplay that never seems repetitive but somehow always invigorating. A fine achievement by Housemarque and a worthy PS5 exclusive.

I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    Returnal is a fun and a game filled with mystery but also very annoying. The best way I can describe this game is a FPS version of Dark Souls. You will die many times in this game as you learn how to improve and get better. When you die, the level that you are on resets and you’ll have to re-due everything. The gameplay/controls feels smooth as butter. Graphics and art design is superb especially when you are in a boss battle. This game would have been easy for me to recommend to everyone and even call a masterpiece if they didn’t waste your time by resetting the entire level.    … Expand

    I was a little bit insecure about the game, but after playing it for the first 20 hours I can tell that it's a great, fun and difficult game. Great graphics, musics, ambient and fights, also the enemies, weapons and abilities. Really a great experience!

    Amazing game.. amazing visuals. but it gets a bit repetitive and it's too HARD.. I spent almost 10 hours .. enjoyed it, but I didn't get to complete the story. I had to go to youtube to see how it ends :D

    One of the main motifs of the game is dealing with loss and depression. It's hard to use the word in this context, but it is brilliant how the developers presented this everyday struggle. It really drives the point that this is not a struggle to be disparaged and does so in a very unique way.

    The game is hard, but I really enjoyed going through it. There are some balancing issues but the gameplay and story make up for it. The music is also amazing, the boss fights really feel like boss fights (especially the one with the organ) I really enjoyed my playthrough and I've been looking for some free time to do it again and check out the new DLC.

    Returnal is a great game for those of you dark souls and Elden ring players looking for a challenge out there this is the game for you. Though it does have some bugs here and there but its fine.

    The performance of this game is smoother than butter. Housemarque made a clever decision in prioritizing frames over fidelity and the result is break neck action that will have you on the edge of your seat as you blast everything to bits.

    The audio is phenomenal, between the environments, the OST and the sound of enemies, you really feel immersed and that you're on Atropos, even more so with a great set of headphones. This game is best experienced with headphones as it can certainly help pinpoint where immediate threats may be coming from.

    Returnal is the best use of Dualsense yet for the PS5, from the gunfire, to the feeling of them reloading, and especially raindrops, the Dualsense only enhances the experience and sets the standard of how its features should be implemented.

    It is a difficult game, (chalk it up to RNG at times), but the delayed gratification you get from Returnal when you are victorious and move onto the next bio-me is entirely too satisfying. You will get better at this game if you focus on killing everything as opposed to just getting to the next level so it certainly helps to take that approach.

    This game is an absolute must-have for PS5 owners (it is on PS+ Extra) and more than worthy to check out if it hasn't already graced your library.    … Expand

    Great gameplay, I actually hope future games borrow the smoothness and mechanics from this Returnal. The story is wack or I don't get it, I should watch an explanation video because its very jumbled and metaphorical. This game hit all my needs tho, I can't think of a single thing it was lacking and maybe going forward they can expand it to 4 player co-op with wider maps or something.

    My review isn't gonna be life-changing in any way, I just wanna chime in- though late to the party. If you enjoy rogue-likes, and maybe this isn't completely fair but I'd actually say tough combat like in Nioh or Dark Souls (I understand if not everyone's gonna love that comparison, it's not one I'm willing to die by either), then holy cow this game I'd say is for you. You're basically on an alien planet, and everything ACTUALLY feels alien. Most games when you're on alien planets it's just "ah it's a shooting game, and things here are named Bobblebloop and Bozzlepop so they have five legs instead of two" or whatever. The sounds, the atmosphere, weird random noises and visuals, ugh it's SO CREEPY and alien lol, and I say that in a really good way if that makes any sense. I don't know why I fanboy over this game so much, it's just been tough finding a good repetitive'ish game to mindlessly (but concentrate hard in) play the last few months for me, and Returnal was it. Super-frustrating in the first cycles, but please believe me when I say it gets easier down the line, without me wanting to spoil how and why :P… Expand

    A perfect example of the performance of the PS5 and all its functions. Great gameplay and the music catches and won't let go until you get to the bottom of it all. But in the end, the final may surprise you unpleasantly.
