A neat enough bonus that squanders its potential with awkward implementation, and a sense of tactility that never quite feels natural enough. [Issue#26, p.74]

I hope every Resident Evil game from here on out has VR support, because it’s a great long term value add. At this point you kind of know that if you’re buying into an RE project, there’s something cool coming down the line. I can get behind that!

We say the game wasn’t designed with VR in mind but we’re not sure that’s true. Capcom already did an excellent job with the VR mode for Resident Evil 7, so we imagine they had support for Village in mind all along. If they didn’t then the sequence near the start, where you stumble through the snow in the dark, is, entirely by accident, one of the best VR experiences we’ve ever had. [Review in Progress]

Village is hardly Resident Evil's scariest entry but its shooter-heavy gameplay lends itself well to VR. Pulling a pistol from your jacket or a rifle from behind your back is smooth and responsive even in the most tense of fights. Ratcheting the shotgun feels supremely cool every single time (even though it probably looks very silly to anyone else sitting in your living room). [Review in Progress]

My God, they finally did it, they brought a modern VR experience to home console. I can not over emphasize enough how different it is to playMy God, they finally did it, they brought a modern VR experience to home console. I can not over emphasize enough how different it is to play this game in first person. I am a hardcore gamer, nothing typically scares me on a flat screen. I have played this game in its entirety before and I have found myself leaping up in sheer terror at parts in this game. A wonderful rush let me tell you.

It becomes a completely different experience at this level, this is PC level VR on a home console. It elevates the whole thing and a surprising number of new mechanics become part of the game as it made its switch to VR.

Now we are getting reports that the new RE4 remake will have a free VR update for us as well.

To put a fine point on this, I found the RE4 VR game for the Quest 2 novel and unique. I found RE Village for PSVR 2 to be an actual game up to the standards of this age, and capable of taking us places modern gaming normally can not go. Extremely excited to see other games of this quality hit the PS5 library but until then I will be enjoying this game for many months to come!

One of the most remarkable experiences I've ever had on a home console! And word is now from Capcom we will be getting the same complete VR treatment for the RE4 remake later this year!

Outside of some slight issues with animations around some of the knockdowns and cutscenes, aside. This is by far the coolest VR game I've ever played so far in my life. Even PC gamers who have full VR setups are gonna play this and be like, whoa. If you can take the plunge, do it!
