Apr 6, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best, if not the best, Resident Evil games I’ve ever played. And I mean ever. The controls, the level(s) of difficulty, the characters, and the story are all immersive. The only thing I wanted to put down are those zombies. Capcom has done it again.
-
Mar 30, 2026Resident Evil Requiem will very likely be in the conversation for Game of the Year, and it’s not hard to see why. Not only does it succeed as a great title in a legendary series, but it’s also a successful celebration of one of gaming’s horror staples. Not only will it satisfy longtime fans who have been there since day one, but the full experience will easily delight casual fans as well. I loved everything about Requiem, and I hope that those who decide to take the plunge will feel the same way. This easily rises to the level of love that RE4 has received over the years, and those taking the plunge might end up in the same boat. This is an absolutely phenomenal game in a beloved franchise, and it will likely be on the minds of many a gamer for years to come.
-
Mar 6, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a return to old-school Resident Evil structure with new-school flavor. It’s a more compact and claustrophobic experience compared to the previous title, while bringing dual stories, intense action, and horror, and a proper number of puzzles into the mix.
-
Mar 2, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a wonderful modern gaming take on a classic series that both honours the gameplay wins of the past with more current storytelling and visual fidelity techniques. The monsters are horrors, the boss fights brutal and there’s more blood than you can shake a stick at. Perfect for survival horror gaming fans.
-
Mar 2, 2026Resident Evil Requiem easily establishes itself as one of the best in the series. The bombastic action and terrifyingly intimate horror are at a fever pitch throughout, with a masterful switching between the two without ever feeling disjointed. This sort of experience can only be achieved through decades of trial, error and triumph, and Requiem shows a keen understanding of what has made the series great over the years - and what can take it to the next level. Polished, enjoyable and sure to put a cheesy grin on every face and shiver up every spine, this is a must-play survival horror title that never misses a step.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is everything we hoped for and more, positioning itself as a strong contender for the best in the entire franchise.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem feels like the culmination of everything the series has been building to and building on over the last thirty years. The story, gameplay, and sound design are all remarkable.
-
Feb 25, 2026Leon's back with as many fresh one-liners as the team could fit into the game. Throw in some of the most tense and creepy exploration we’ve had to handle so far, and Resident Evil Requiem really is Capcom firing on all cylinders to deliver their best survival horror to date.
-
Feb 25, 2026A masterful fusion of classic survival horror and high-intensity action, Resident Evil Requiem seamlessly blends Grace’s methodical survival stealth with Leon’s explosive combat into a cohesive vision that respects the franchise’s legacy while boldly shaping its future. Capcom delivers an ambitious, meticulously crafted entry that reflects remarkable creative maturity, one that restores faith in truly exceptional survival horror in the modern era.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem's gripping story and intoxicating gameplay blend are wrapped up in a perfectly-polished experience with eye-popping graphics and a blood-pumping soundtrack. Resident Evil Requiem is a horror gaming masterpiece and one of the best games Capcom has ever made. It's the ultimate Resident Evil game and will be remembered as fondly as the franchise favorites in the years to come.
-
Feb 25, 2026A sum of its parts indeed, Resident Evil Requiem silences any doubts about the previous entries it's mutated from. A mix of tense survival horror and action setpieces, Requiem is a welcome addition, perhaps even surpassing those you already hold high. It's beautiful, it's disgusting, it's over-the-top... it's Resident Evil, that's for sure.
-
Feb 25, 2026As a horror game in its own right, Resident Evil Requiem is a very solid nine out of 10, but as a passionate fan of the series, it earns an additional bonus point thanks to the attention to detail and craft that’s gone into every pore of this game.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem is a pivotal work that manages to reconcile two long-standing, contrasting visions of the saga. Tension and Action. It takes the best of what Resident Evil has to offer and elevates it to a level of polish rarely seen. Though the alternating structure between Grace and Leon locks the pace and limits the kind of replay freedom found in some earlier entries. Yet, in the face of such mastery, this compromise feels almost negligible.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem, to me, is one of the series’ best. As a culmination of every game that came before, I can confidently say that the story serves as both a fitting conclusion for many threads left open over the years and a benchmark for where we can expect to go from here. It combines the best parts of virtually every modern Resident Evil title, offering the iconic horror atmosphere that pioneered a genre, incredibly satisfying combat mechanics, and immersive puzzle design that even newcomers can enjoy.
-
Feb 25, 2026As a requiem for the franchise, this adventure is a layered, thoughtful sequel. It manages to neatly thread two vastly different gameplay tones together, with each of its elements well-designed to create a cohesive, balanced adventure that serves a variety of needs ... With a steady back-and-forth between moments of sheer terror and outright glee, Requiem hauls you along a story that forces you to reckon with its core message: that even against the encroachment of nightmares, the world is worth fighting for.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem delivers a powerful return to Raccoon City, blending emotional weight with masterfully paced survival horror…Its dual-protagonist structure offers two distinct yet perfectly balanced gameplay experiences. A stunning and confident evolution of the franchise that honors its legacy while pushing it forward.
-
Feb 25, 2026Rather than trying to do something entirely new, the ninth mainline installment in the saga, Resident Evil Requiem, finds a way to perfectly mesh all of the best aspects of the series so far. The result doesn't just make Requiem one of the greatest Resident Evil games yet, but it stands as a perfect celebration of the franchise for its 30th anniversary.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem is Resident Evil at its finest…It is fantastic, a revelatory mix of terrifying survival-horror and action.
-
Feb 25, 2026With Requiem, Capcom has crafted the best installment in the franchise in decades. It has refined every aspect to an outstanding level, earning a more than deserved nomination for Game of the Year.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem amalgamates its two entities into a cohesive, demonic monster, resulting in one of the series’ most complete entries to date. From its tense, immersive exploration that highlights vulnerability to its visceral combat that revels in brutality, it delivers a nightmare that feels both refined and feral. A masterpiece in horror, and an early Game of the Year contender.
-
Mar 6, 2026It took me a dozen hours to beat Resident Evil Requiem the first time, and I don’t think more than twenty minutes ever passed without absolutely flooring me with some new surprise, reveal, or thrilling setpiece. It’s violent, scary, and funny, and everything good about the series all rolled up into one. We’re 30 years into the Resident Evil franchise, and not only is it not getting long in the tooth, the developers are doing their best work yet. It’s a masterpiece from beginning to end, and an absolute must-play.
-
Mar 5, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is the new blueprint for what survival horror should be. Capcom really delivered with its dual perspective, offering extreme horror on one side and over-the-top action on the other. It’s the perfect marriage of the two Resident Evil styles, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. There are small letdowns in the story that prevent me from giving it a perfect score, but this one is a no-brainer nevertheless. If you’re a fan of the genre, this is a must-have.
-
Mar 3, 2026The next evolution of the Resident Evil series has officially arrived and it delivers on nearly every front. From the visceral, gory combat to the tense, compounding sense of dread that accompanies every darkened hallway, Requiem feels like a love letter to every Resident Evil fan. The dual-protagonist addition works to near perfection, with Grace thriving on tense, survival horror driven moments of terror, while Leon deploys the heavy firepower and one-liners to bring up the rear. Its environments and settings have a sense of familiarity to the horrors hiding just out of sight, while feeling like a brand new monster entirely. Though the story does falter towards the end, I feel confident in saying that Requiem is one of the strongest entries in the series as a whole. It does just enough to honor the past, while pushing full steam ahead towards the future.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a confident, gorgeous-looking and genuinely scary romp that expertly balances its horror and action elements into one compelling, hair-raising package. Grace is one of the best new characters the series has introduced to date, and a perfect complement to veteran zombie slayer Leon. As the series celebrates its 30th anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem sees the franchise at its strongest in years.
-
Feb 25, 2026What Capcom is currently doing might seem simple, but besides seeing established companies completely lose their way, the entire industry is experiencing an air of bewilderment and uncertainty, especially regarding big-budget productions. Resident Evil Requiem is proof of many things, such as the franchise's great importance within the industry, making it clear that there is a path for AAA titles to move forward safely and profitably for those who manage the business side...A spectacular story that reconnects with the origins of the entire saga, an innovative yet classic gameplay system that perfectly modulates its pace, and a truly next-generation audiovisual presentation are just some of the elements that make Resident Evil Requiem a very serious contender for Game of the Year 2026. Capcom is on the right track with one of its flagship series and has given us a memorable adventure that will be widely discussed in the future and that, of course, places it among the highlights of this franchise.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem continues to breathe life into the series, making excellent use of new and old ideas to tell a story that fans will love every second of.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem is the best installment in the saga since Resident Evil 4. A brilliant game in terms of action, survival elements, and above all, the combination of both. Capcom delivers a heartfelt tribute to Resident Evil 2 and signs off on one of the peaks of the franchise.
-
Feb 25, 2026After spending most of my life with this series, I approached Resident Evil Requiem with equal hesitation and open arms. It stumbles where certain mechanics fade out too quickly and a few systems could have gone further, but this is one nightmare I could not put down. The contrast between Leon S. Kennedy stepping into chaos with confidence and Grace Ashcroft walking into it unprepared gives the game its identity, balancing action and vulnerability in a way that feels true to the franchise’s history. It is not flawless, but its confident storytelling, tense survival design, and deeply replayable structure pulled me back in, reminding me why I keep returning to this series after all these years.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is an excellent game, taking the best elements from the Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes. The gameplay is great, the graphics are superb, and the atmosphere is outstanding. The only downsides are the bittersweet story and the lack of extra modes.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is an intoxicating mix of the series’ DNA, blending exhilarating action and palpable horror to make not only one of the best Resident Evil games, but one of the best modern survival horror experiences.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a confident evolution of the franchise, balancing legacy and innovation with impressive precision. The dual-protagonist structure works beautifully, with Grace delivering tense, resource-driven survival horror, while Leon brings technical, high-impact action. The atmosphere, sound design and level construction reinforce the series’ identity, and performance on the PS5 base remains solid throughout. Though one narrative thread leaves room for debate and a late-game boss encounter could have added even more weight, Requiem stands as one of Capcom’s strongest recent entries. It respects the past while clearly pushing forward.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is an exceptionally well-made nostalgia romp that elevates everything special about the series, showcasing the pinnacle of both survival horror and action horror in a package that has a little bit of everything but executes it all well.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem blends the best elements of survival horror and action. With stunningly detailed environments, realistic lighting and a gripping story, the game makes for one of the most immersive entries the series has to offer. Some traditional features are absent, but it remains a standout entry.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil: Requiem is, above all, a love letter to the saga. That Resident Evil 2 that left its mark on us still beats beneath its surface, but now accompanied by a gameplay maturity that only a franchise with thirty years of history can offer. We liked it a lot. We’ve suffered, we’ve managed resources to the limit, we’ve unloaded shotguns with pent-up rage, and we’ve felt that delicious tension that only Resident Evil knows how to create.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem stands out for its precise balance between survival horror and action, blending tension and combat with remarkable cohesion. Backed by a compelling narrative that dives deep into Umbrella’s origins, the game expands the franchise’s legacy with confidence. Grace delivers a strong and memorable debut, while Leon returns sharper than ever, reaffirming his place as one of the series’ most iconic heroes.
-
Feb 25, 2026Capcom keeps a steady course with a perfect mix of both variants of the Resident Evil formula. Action and stealth, adrenaline and horror keep us wanting more. And RE Engine is as robust as ever. A "contagious" experience.
-
Mar 23, 2026It is a testament that, despite thirty years of Resident Evil, with over thirty unique titles under the franchise belt, Capcom is still able to wring out the value and deliver on quality . Resident Evil Requiem is one of the finest examples of both survival horror and third-person action, all rolled into one experience that expertly combines the best of both worlds into a concise, moreish package.
-
Edge MagazineMar 19, 2026So perhaps, we conclude, it's the right balance of the two styles that pays the biggest dividends, tagging each other in at intervals, oscillating between tension and release - after all, it's only when one character goes absent for too long that the game strains. [Issue#422, p.98]
-
Mar 16, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is an amalgamation of different ideas, eras and creative intents. But instead of trying to harmonize them into a straightforward experience, the game does the opposite. It celebrates Resident Evil's legacy as a whole - as a horror game, an intense action, as a spy thriller, and as a science fiction. Resident Evil is all of those things simultaneously, and it has never been more apparent than now.
-
Mar 6, 2026Resident Evil Requiem takes the best of the modern games and remakes and smashes them together to create the best Resident Evil in years. The horror sections are expertly tuned to be terrifying without losing out on the excellent combat, and the action sections are as engaging as they are overwhelming. Both sections enhance each other through impeccable pacing. The story gets the job done, but Grace and Leon elevate the experience through their characterization. It’s big, it’s dumb, and it goes off the rails in all the ways the best Resident Evil games do.
-
Mar 5, 2026More than even the remakes, Resident Evil 9 celebrates the series’ legacy in its full breadth, and does so exquisitely.
-
Mar 3, 2026From classic survival horror to brisk action, there is nothing about Resident Evil Requiem that feels out of place for the series. Bringing together three decades of history is no small task, doing so in a way that feels genuinely fun is even harder. Yet Resident Evil Requiem pulls off this seemingly reckless ambition with remarkable confidence.
-
Mar 3, 2026Resident Evil Requiem masterfully blends the classic setting and systems of RE2 with the exhilarating action of RE4, striking a perfect balance that respects long-time fans while welcoming newcomers. Although it suffers from a slightly underwhelming narrative and somewhat sluggish running mechanics, the stunning visuals powered by the RE Engine easily overshadow these minor flaws. Ultimately, this 30th-anniversary tribute stands proudly as arguably the best Resident Evil game to date.
-
Mar 3, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is the culmination of everything Capcom has been working towards since the release of RE7 in 2017, and the team's efforts have paid off in dividends. This is the most confident mainline entry the series has seen in the past decade, and with the tragedy of Raccoon City finally behind us, I'm looking forward to seeing what the dawn of the new age will bring.
-
Mar 2, 2026I should mention that there are a couple of details in the story that didn't quite fit for me and seemed a bit forced, and that the boss battles, in general, seemed quite easy compared to other instalments in the series. Otherwise, I can only praise the work that Capcom has prepared for us.
-
Mar 2, 2026Resident Evil Requiem brings together the best concepts that have defined the franchise while delivering a truly groundbreaking experience. It expertly balances the tension of hardcore survival horror with visceral action, all without losing sight of its roots (pun intended). It satisfies long-time fans and newcomers alike, standing as a highly accessible and deeply enjoyable title.
-
Feb 25, 2026By carefully honouring its past and deliberately weaving together the best of survival and action horror, Resident Evil Requiem finally reconciles the series’ genre identity. This is the most captivated I’ve felt playing a new Resident Evil story since booting up Resident Evil 4 on GameCube all those years ago. It understands why it got action right all those years ago and finally how that best integrates with Resident Evil’s more traditional horror roots – or at least the remakes and reimaginings of them. Leon remains an important ingredient as the poster boy for the franchise, but the real key is partnering him with someone without his courage who’s still determined to survive. Resident Evil is no longer choosing between survival or action. With Requiem, it’s finally mastered survival-action horror.
-
Feb 25, 2026A perfect balance of survival, action, and horror featuring fantastic set pieces, superb combat and plenty of chills that long-time RE fans are bound to love.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem proves that there is still plenty of infected blood left in this franchise's veins. Requiem manages to balance horror and action in a way that enhances both. While its second half is a bit messier than it should be, it's still a fun ride that only Resident Evil can deliver.
-
Feb 25, 2026With clocking in 40 hours as of this review, I had a phenomenal time with Resident Evil Requiem and only had a couple minor issues with a possible challenge that may not be working and a puzzle that stumped me for way too long. As a complete package, this is a remarkable new installment in a franchise that delivers on so much but still has me itching for more. My biggest drawback was having no one to discuss lore with during the review process and cannot wait to have a show about it soon. Capcom has done it again.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is an outstanding mutation of two distinct gameplay styles. Grace’s more intimate and grounded exploration is married beautifully with Leon’s combat heavy focus. The story offers a nice balance between franchise history and telling a new chapter of its sprawling decades-long narrative. Capcom continues its unbelievable run of excellence, managing to make each entry have its own distinct identity while staying true to what makes Resident Evil special.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem perfectly balances fresh blood with the classic essence of the series. Two protagonists with very different playable philosophies, but who complement each other to forge, together, a fantastic Resident Evil game.
-
Feb 25, 2026I may have been left pining for more of what I saw from each approach, but there’s no denying that I had an excellent time with Requiem. It’s the most I’ve enjoyed a mainline Resident Evil game in 20 years. As good as 7 and Village were, I have to admit it was nice to go back to some series mainstays rather than continuing along with the narrative detour of the Moldman Chronicles. Grace’s chapters had me holding my breath and running for my life during late night sessions with the game, and the bombast and doofiness of Leon had me laughing out loud. Resident Evil Requiem is an excellent culmination of everything Capcom has learned during 30 years of making this franchise, and it serves as a tantalizing glimpse of what its future may hold.
-
Feb 25, 2026Ultimately, Resident Evil Requiem is a confident, near-perfect blend of horror and action that Capcom had long dreamt of executing. It stands tall when compared to some of the series' best entries, and while it falls a little short in a few areas and has a somewhat inconsistent pacing with unnecessary padding, it delivers the scares, the gameplay, and a surprisingly compelling story that will be sure to surprise long-time veterans of the series.
-
Feb 25, 2026With potent scares and thrilling action, Resident Evil Requiem delivers a memorable experience that successfully combines the series’ action and horror sides, while also telling a compelling story that expands the Resident Evil mythos in fascinating ways.
-
Feb 25, 2026Like the result of an experiment conducted in an underground Umbrella Corporation lab, Resident Evil Requiem successfully splices two separate strains of survival horror together into the one highly infectious new mutation. It signals the return of a series legend and the arrival of a likeable new lead, amps up the gore to a new stomach-turning standard, and unleashes a scarier breed of zombie alongside some truly beastly boss fights. The lack of any meaningful side content like The Mercenaries mode is a touch disappointing, and I do wonder if a slightly more consistent balance could have been struck with the ebb and flow from jaw-clenching moments of tension to all-out assault, rather than frontloading the story with frights before giving way to a more bullet-riddled back half. Even so, from my first trembling steps into its shadows all the way to the tremendous, titan-sized takedown at its climax, Resident Evil Requiem kept me completely absorbed and consistently entertained whether it was all hair-raising or all guns blazing.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil 9 Requiem is certainly one of the best games in the franchise, and for a very simple reason : it is the ultimate mutation of a formula that has evolved over many years of research, experimentation, successes, and failures. It is the synthesis of an entire series, from its main titles to its many offshoots spread across nearly 30 years of existence. Two experiences in one that come together to form a whole that will keep us on the edge of our seats from start to finish, despite some pacing issues and a few missteps along the way, though these are quickly offset by well-executed fan service and brilliant execution.
-
Feb 25, 2026Everything has led to this... Resident Evil Requiem is the game that sums up 30 years of the saga, taking us back to where it all began. It was a huge risk for Capcom, but one that paid off almost flawlessly, delivering a narratively compelling, technically sumptuous title characterized by two gameplay styles that are as different as they are well blended.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil 9 blends classic survival horror with explosive action, delivering two distinct but equally strong character perspectives. Linear and light on puzzles, yet emotionally engaging and one of the series’ standout entries.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a game for new and old fans alike. It contains the identity of both the recent entries in the franchise and some of the remakes, meshing both horror and action that works most of the time.
-
Feb 25, 2026While its underwhelming boss battles and environmental design feel like a small step back from previous entries, Resident Evil Requiem is an equally terrifying and thrilling installment in Capcom’s long-running survival horror saga. With a lengthy campaign that blends the original trilogy’s tense, methodical exploration with the action-packed set pieces that define the franchise’s modern offerings, Requiem also delivers a gripping story, making it a must-play entry that honors the series’ survival horror legacy while pushing it forward in an exciting new direction.
-
Feb 25, 2026For the first time in many years, we have a brand-new Resident Evil game that truly blends the best elements of the classics, the remakes, and even the newer entries to a degree. That combination, paired with a focus on familiar themes, characters, and the long-overdue closure of a storyline that stretches back to the very beginning of the series, along with its streamlined gameplay and concise length, delivers surprisingly strong results.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil: Requiem finds the perfect balance between survival horror and explosive action thanks to its two protagonists. The result is an outstanding experience that managed to keep me constantly engaged.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem fuses the horror sensibilities of the Resident Evil 2 remake with the exhilarating action of Resident Evil 4’s remake, rearticulating the series’ fundamental appeal in what feels like a definitive culmination. While its level design and gimmicks—heavily indebted to the legacy of past entries—occasionally verge on repetition, the game nevertheless delivers a sense of closure to Leon’s harrowing journey and stands as a remarkable realization of the franchise’s long-gestating ambitions. It is, without question, a requiem worthy of the series’ history—an elegy to the memories it has built over the years, and an experience well worth seeing through to the very end.
-
Feb 25, 2026With Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom isn’t trying to tear everything down and start from scratch. This isn’t a radical reinvention, but rather a highly self-aware synthesis of everything the series has experimented with over the past thirty years. It’s an anniversary entry that clearly looks back, embraces its fan service, yet still tries to move forward. In short, it feels like a best-of, but a thoughtful one, not a lazy collage. For years, the series has swung between two extremes: pure, suffocating horror and explosive, over-the-top action. Here, instead of awkwardly blending both into a single gameplay style, the game makes a much smarter choice: it separates these two energies into two complementary characters. On one side, Grace Ashcroft embodies vulnerability, fear, and constant tension. On the other, Leon S. Kennedy represents control, power, and that charismatic, unstoppable force pushing forward without hesitation. On paper, this could have created imbalance, even a rupture in the game’s rhythm. But in practice? It works surprisingly well.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is the perfect combination of its two current gameplay styles, condensed into a game where each playable style will have its own value and will alternate. A game for fans who enjoy both, and for Leon fans to get their dose of fan service. Visually stunning, terrifying in sound, it's the peak of recent years of remakes and new releases in the series.
-
Feb 25, 2026The most entertaining new Resident Evil game in over two decades, with fantastic combat, amazing graphics, effective scares, and the most enjoyably bad one-liners in the business.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem wonderfully combines everything I love about Resident Evil's recent remakes and new installments, shining as a new, explosive entry that honors the series' 30-year history.
-
Feb 25, 2026Detractors might cry foul that Capcom has forced two wildly different experiences into one package, but I prefer to think of it as two sides of the same coin. It’s an endless buffet of nail-biting, pulse-pounding action, and, I would argue, survival horror at its finest.
-
Feb 25, 2026Capcom has thrills down to a science at this point, and Resident Evil Requiem delivers.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem finds a way to bring the newer and older gameplay styles that have defined the franchise into an exceptionally enjoyable experience that is perfect for fans of the series. The meshing of Grace's slower, stealthier gameplay with Leon's action-packed killing works wonderfully, giving us the best of both worlds. Combined with an exciting story with some fantastic twists and turns and a gorgeous setting with recognizable locations, Requiem stands above its minor issues to become one of my favorite survival horror experiences I’ve played.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem concocts a winning formula for combining survival horror with bombastic action. By mixing elements from every game in the series, Requiem triumphantly celebrates 30 years of Resident Evil. While not every note proves fresh, the game’s weapon variety, intriguing storyline, and endearing duo of Grace and Leon make for a horror experience sure to thrill fans and newcomers alike.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a strong entry that successfully balances the two gameplay styles that define Capcom’s survival horror saga through its dual protagonists. At the same time, it delivers a narrative that closes certain plot threads while introducing new ones that will likely sustain the franchise for years to come. Although it presents some visual issues, its engaging gameplay more than compensates, keeping players entertained throughout and even encouraging multiple playthroughs.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem delivers a polished, perfectly balanced blend of horror and action, backed by stunning audio-visual presentation and an engaging narrative. While it lacks innovation and heavily recycles ideas from other games in the series, like Resident Evil 4 Remake, it remains a highly enjoyable experience that will undoubtedly satisfy the fans.
-
Feb 25, 2026Capcom shows that Resident Evil remains innovative after 30 years, drawing fans and new players into a brand-new story enhanced by a tense and oppressive atmosphere. Despite minor flaws this could be the horror game of the year.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem confidently honours the franchise’s legacy by bringing Leon back into the spotlight while simultaneously laying the groundwork for its future with a compelling new character. Backed by a proven formula, a passionate fan base, and the ever-reliable RE Engine, the future of the Resident Evil franchise looks brighter than ever.
-
Feb 25, 2026For anyone who's started the series from Resident Evil 7 onwards, Resident Evil Requiem may easily be one of the best in the series. For everyone else, the bar is high to be considered one of the greats, but it definitely does a heck of a job jumping for it.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a confident and well-crafted mix of horror and action that continues the series' modern era quality. Its back-and-forth between survival and power feels deliberate and satisfying, giving both Grace and Leon moments to shine. While a few decisions slightly dull the late-game tension, the environments, audio, and gameplay are crafted with care, making this one of the franchise's strongest and proving Resident Evil can still reinvent itself while honouring legacy.
-
Feb 25, 2026Blending brutal third-person action with intimate first-person horror, resetting the series with stunning visuals, smarter enemies, and bold narrative ambition, Resident Evil Requiem may be familiar, but it's executed with confidence, polish, and genuine dread.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is easily one of the best games of 2026 and will certainly meet the immense expectations of fans, combining the best of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 4 Remake. I wish the game were a little bit longer, just to enjoy it a bit more, but that is really the only flaw I can find in it.
-
Feb 25, 2026Capcom keeps its streak alive with the folks from Raccoon City, delivering a masterpiece packed with memorable moments—ones that, the second you experience them, you’ll want to run and tell someone what just happened. The dual-protagonist system makes the whole ride feel perfectly balanced between tension and spectacle, gameplay and variety, proving it’s not a gimmick but a carefully tuned experience designed to squeeze the maximum fun out of every scenario they throw at you.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is everything that RE fans could want out of the next entry in the series and more. It walks a tightrope of horror and action, but has perfected this balance in a way that delivers a heart-stopping, adrenaline-pumping good time, regardless of what kind of RE fan you are.
-
Feb 25, 2026Twelve hours with Leon and Grace were a hellishly satisfying experience, from the very first moments of gameplay to the thrilling finale. Resident Evil Requiem is one of the strongest modern entries in the series - technically polished, full of genuine emotion, and impressively varied in its gameplay ideas. The only major complaint is the game’s length - with such diverse mechanics on display, you can’t help but wish there was more, just to see it fully spread its wings.

Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem brings a lot of familiarity, but also dynamism by embodying in the newcomer Grace and the veteran Leon two different approaches in one campaign, alternating between the fear of survival horror and the empowerment that invites us to engage in direct and confident action. These two distinct facets are already known, but together they form a whole worthy of both resuming the main story of the series and serving as a viable entry point.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem delivers the best of both worlds — a masterclass in tension and release.
-
Feb 25, 2026While it maintains close mechanical proximity to the games that came before, Requiem is solid proof that what Capcom has built has a fundamental appeal, and, more importantly, a quality that few can match.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a fantastic example of why this series continues to thrive, it's a truly great experience that will have you smiling with glee, quivering with fear, and pumping a fist in the air out of thrill.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is technically impressive, but above all, the ninth installment in the series essentially delivers two games in one: a classic survival horror adventure with Grace and gripping survival action with Leon. The story is pure fan service. It's different from the last two installments, but clearly a strong contender for the top spot in the series.
-
Feb 25, 2026With its dual-protagonist setup, Resident Evil Requiem caters to both those who love traditional survival horror as well as action horror. Throw in a fantastic range of truly terrifying enemies, including zombies that feel freakier than ever thanks to their unique behaviours, and you have one of the best Resident Evil games yet, especially for those who can appreciate both of its distinct gameplay styles.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem isn’t flawless, but it doesn’t need to be. Its levels breathe, its mechanics reward mastery and like good zombies, its creatures never stop moving. Fear, strategy and ritual coexist here in a way few games achieve, and even after nine playthroughs, it continues to surprise, challenge and delight. For a series built on tension and curiosity, this is a return that feels alive and impossible to put down.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem stands on its historical weight and on gameplay that embraces well-defined dualities for the overall experience. However, beyond a narrative that raises more questions than answers, there is a lack of clarity regarding the future direction of the franchise.
-
Feb 25, 2026The Resident Evil series has undergone quite a few stylistic changes: from survival horror to campy action and back again. In Resident Evil Requiem, all those flavors are combined into one dish, which doesn’t always blend perfectly — but it’s a lot of fun, at least if you enjoy all of them.
-
Mar 11, 2026A Requiem is not a final, but a threshold. And as it crosses that threshold scented with nostalgia, it renews confidence and hope through the path it opens for the series' future. If only they hadn't forgotten the puzzles.
-
Mar 6, 2026Providing suspenseful horror and sheer action across both protagonists, Resident Evil: Requiem is yet another Capcom banger survival horror fans will absolutely love.
-
Mar 2, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is truly a fantastic game with amazing gameplay and a fun story, though it is using a lot of nostalgia to appeal to the old time fans and sometimes it feels like the series has some trouble really moving forward and I hope it manages to produce something newer the next time around.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil: Requiem is a solid but very disjointed game. It feels like two extremely fun games that don 't necessarily mix well together. There 's a lot of clever mechanics, effective scenes, and excellent combat mechanics that make it a ton of fun to play, but it also has a meandering and borderline nonsensical plot, drawn-out set pieces, and a lack of focus. At the end of the day, it 's absolutely worth checking out if you 're a Resident Evil fan because when it is hitting its mark, it 's one of the best games in the franchise. Even at its worst, it 's a case of wishing that it could've been more.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is inarguably a brilliant game with an awkward identity. At its best, especially as Grace, it nails the dense, atmospheric survival horror experience that defined the series, pairing smart level design with tense decision-making and combat that feels weighty and brutal. But as the story shifts the focus to Leon and pivots towards action, it becomes a weaker echo of Resident Evil 4. Ultimately, while Resident Evil Requiem is a blast from beginning to end, it also can't decide what it wants to be, and that is bound to be divisive.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a chapter destined to divide the fan base. Its almost obsessive reliance on fan service derails what could have been an incredibly powerful narrative, resulting in a convoluted script reminiscent of the series’ CGI films. It’s a real shame, because nearly every other aspect of the production reaches remarkably high standards, occasionally brushing against excellence. The gameplay is varied and rock-solid, supported by some of the best level and game design the franchise has ever delivered, Ultimately, however, its excess of ambition prevents it from matching the brilliance of the recent remakes or the strongest canonical installments.
-
Feb 25, 2026With Requiem, the grand finale is complete: Capcom unites all fans of its saga in a bloody communion, whether they prefer first-person horror or over-the-shoulder action. Capitalizing on fan service, this Resident Evil resurrects the dead as much as memories, but could it have been otherwise with Leon confronted by his eternal demons? Admittedly, Requiem rehashes old ideas, but it brilliantly succeeds in its gamble of delivering two games in one, even if the story is once again a flimsy excuse for all sorts of extravagances. Beautiful, generous, well-paced, comprehensive, and designed to satisfy longtime fans, Resident Evil Requiem is devoured like a rich, over-the-top compilation with extra ketchup.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem continues the series' winning streak, once again bringing fans everything that is best about it – and this time in a way that satisfies both action and horror enthusiasts. Although the numerous references to previous installments mean that Requiem cannot be recommended to completely new players, I wasn't bored for a moment. This is not a requiem for the Resident Evil series – but a tribute to its thirty-year legacy.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is the Every-Evil, as Capcom has taken all the things they've done with the franchise over the past decade or so and stitched them together into a towering monster of a survival horror game. Parts of this game are the best, scariest, and most intense this series has ever been, other parts are merely alright, but no part of the game is bad and it's all very distinctly Resident Evil. While it won't be everyone's new favorite, Resident Evil Requiem should hit enough right notes for most fans.
-
Feb 25, 2026Despite some pacing issues, Resident Evil Requiem is an excellent entry in the series, delivering on both action as well as survival-horror.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem is the quintessence of modern Resident Evil. In a single story, it combines first-person survival horror tension with unrestrained action presented from a third-person perspective. AAA game refined down to the last detail, but lacking in innovation.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem draws on the strengths of the series and offers a first-class gameplay mix of action and survival horror. Our biggest criticism is that Capcom has lost its courage to try new things.
-
Mar 9, 2026Despite the suspense and terror, there’s still a playfully self-aware spring in the game’s step.
-
Feb 26, 2026Requiem has had so many clever set-pieces, tense chases, and joyfully gruesome encounters by that point that it’s easy to forgive it simply running out of ideas. Capcom has been on a hot streak for a while now, so it’s no shock that Requiem delivers. But it’s a very pleasant surprise that Resident Evil still feels this vital.
-
Feb 25, 2026The premiere interactive schlock horror series has been on a roll in recent years, but combining its two successful formulas into one game was a huge risk. It mostly pays off in Requiem, a double feature that's one part terrifying suspense and one part gory action movie. The connective tissue is the weakest part, with a bombastic story that struggles to digest 30 years of nonsense while also moving things forward, but it's nonetheless a thrilling ride throughout.
-
Feb 25, 2026If you go into Resident Evil Requiem without expectations, you’ll find it’s a great game. However, many long-time fans of the series did expect that Requiem would be a celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary. Capcom hasn’t done a great job so far, and using the game to advertise a $215,000 car and a couple of $1,500+ limited-edition watches has me questioning whether the company has once again lost touch with its fanbase. I’m hoping Requiem is a setup for a major twist that rewards fans for their knowledge of the franchise and propels the series into its next phase. Because of just how odd a taste this game left in my mouth, my score is mostly (and optimistically) based on the gameplay and the story, outside of its connections to the series as a whole.
-
Feb 25, 2026The ninth entry in the long running main series doesn't quite live up to the perhaps overly grandiose promises of the ultimate Resident Evil experience. The hybrid between survival horror and more straightforward action is still a definite success by the standards of the series.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem keeps Capcom’s winning streak going, even if, at times, it does buckle under the weight of its own ambition. The overriding feeling after seeing the credits roll after the 10-hour mark was surprise that the adventure was over so soon...I wanted more, especially for Leon, whose sections felt like they weren’t afforded enough opportunities to shine. While post-game weapon and difficulty unlocks provide replay value, Requiem feels like it could have benefited from extra time in the oven...For as long as it lasts, however, Requiem is fantastic. It feels like the culmination of Capcom’s learnings from years of indecision over whether the series should be full-on horror or action, delivering the best of both worlds.
-
Feb 25, 2026We'd love to talk about Requiem as a masterpiece, the best of the three most recent numbered titles in the series. Unfortunately, despite a first installment of the adventure capable of achieving excellent results, we can't do so, nor can we hide our bitter taste as longtime fans. This is because the success of the overall experience is partially compromised precisely when more space is given to an icon of the series, the protagonist of an action-horror section that simply doesn't live up to the previous one, though not without its own beautiful moments. We conclude by saying that yes, Requiem is still worth playing, even just to experience its evolved "zombies" and to discover how it looks to the series' past (and future).
-
Feb 25, 2026The strongest new Resident Evil chapter in a long time. Capcom delivers an atmospheric triumph that blends classic survival-horror-virtues with fresh ideas. Even though the boss fights and the finale falter slightly, it remains a truly strong survival-horror experience.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem combines the best that the franchise has had through 30 years on top of excellent protagonism from Grace and Leon. Unfortunately, the game falters in action sequences which are reminiscent of Resident Evil 6, the worst title in the saga, and stumbles slightly with a narrative that isn't as brilliant and sublime as its horror and gameplay. However, it still demonstrates the mastery that Capcom has maintained with the franchise since RE7: Biohazard (despite the misstep in RE3 Remake).
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem delivers one of the series’ best survival‑horror campaigns with Grace Ashcroft and a brutal, visually impressive action romp with Leon in ruined Raccoon City. However, its generous resources economy, the action-focus in the second half and split identity keep this ambitious anniversary entry just shy of true masterpiece status.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is, in many ways, the definitive Resident Evil game. Building upon what the franchise achieved in the past 10 years, Capcom strikes an excellent balance of action and horror. Though it leans a little too heavily on fanservice here and there, Requiem more than accomplishes its mission as a celebration of all things Resident Evil.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem stuffs three decades of fan service into a single package, all while maintaining its place as a mainline entry to the series. While it’s not without its tedium, and the new protagonist takes a minute to find her feet, Requiem finally strikes the balance between action and horror that Capcom’s wrestled with for all these years.
-
Feb 25, 2026On paper, Resident Evil Requiem is essentially a two-in-one package that delivers both excellent survival horror and action gameplay. It is that in practise, too, but the playtime imbalance between the two is enough that you’ll get too much of one and not enough of the other. At the end of it all, it’s another fantastic entry — you just might not get everything you’re looking for out of it.
-
Feb 25, 2026Part Resident Evil 4, part RE2 and 7 and even 5, presenting the best the series has ever offered (and sometimes the worst), with enough new or enhanced elements to make it also feel fresh. After 6 and Village's limp amalgamation of both gameplay types, this game finally nails it, for better or for worse.
-
Feb 25, 2026By the end, it felt like Resident Evil Requiem had marked the end of a new era that began almost a decade ago. It’s reached a point where anxiety-inducing horror and over the top explosive action can exist in tandem rather than cannibalising one another into tragic irrelevance. Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft engage in a delicate dance where all of their complicated steps work together in relative harmony despite some minor missteps.
-
Feb 25, 2026When taken in isolation, Resident Evil: Requiem is fantastic, and a genuinely brilliant entry into the mainline series. It’s still straddling that line between fear and power, and while Grace might not have Leon’s roundhouse kicks and one-liners, she can always fall back on the Requiem. It’s a game designed to challenge you, not pull your last precious hairs from your head (unless you try Insanity difficulty). Capcom has once again delivered a polished and beautiful Resident Evil game, it’s just not quite amongst the best.
-
Feb 25, 2026One of the most fascinating things about Resident Evil, as a franchise, is how often these games take on different interpretations as the series progresses. We don’t think of Resident Evil 5 the same way as when it came out, or Resident Evil 6, or Village. This is one of the few gaming franchises that meaningfully uses the past, both narratively and from a design standpoint. These are games integrally shaped by their place in time, the world, and the larger series. And similarly, I think Requiem is a game that we’ll be talking about for years to come, reevaluating more than once.
-
Feb 25, 2026The best way to sum up Resident Evil Requiem is to say it's a quintessential Resident Evil game. By the end of it, the apprehension around juggling survival horror and over-the-top action couldn't have been further from our minds. We couldn't care less about the semantics of genre labels when the game is this fun and seamlessly cohesive.
-
Feb 25, 2026I thoroughly enjoyed each separate segment (except one) as discrete gameplay units and distinct slices of Resident Evil history. But as a coherent overall experience and statement of intent, Resident Evil Requiem is a mutated beast left to exsanguinate on the floor.
-
Feb 25, 2026Capcom once again strikes a high note with the new Resident Evil entry, though this time its ambition introduces a few rough edges. Requiem delivers excellent survival horror during Grace’s sections and offers a wealth of Easter eggs and references for longtime fans to dissect. However, in attempting to incorporate the best elements from the franchise’s many, and often wildly different, installments, it occasionally feels somewhat disjointed. Even so, Requiem stands as yet another strong addition to Capcom’s seemingly never-ending streak of quality releases.
-
Feb 25, 2026For almost a decade, Capcom has been refining Resident Evil, finding ways to modernize the storied franchise and to maintain what has made it so beloved. With Requiem, Capcom has dialed in Resident Evil maybe as far as it can. The result is a game that leans too hard on past successes and nostalgia, and so doesn't show its fans any new ideas. But it knows its hits backward and forward, and it plays them near-perfectly.
-
Feb 25, 2026In Resident Evil Requiem, the corridors of a former sanitarium are both terrifying and rewarding. But Raccoon City is bland and filled with chores.
-
Feb 25, 2026While the best of both worlds approach largely works, offering immersive, atmospheric horror with Grace's storyline and spectacle and tense action with Leon, Requiem ultimately presents an uneven, not fully realized campaign that runs its course sooner than expected. Hopefully, with many of the long-running storylines finally being put to rest, the new foundations set by Requiem offer a new path forward for the series, presenting a clearer vision of what comes next.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is a creature split in two. Within itself it preserves some of the finest moments the Resident Evil saga has ever put on display: it’s rich in detail, brimming with love for the genre, and outstanding at staging horror, building it room by room, corridor by corridor—zombie by zombie. Like no one else in the world of video games knows how to do it. This talent comes through most fully in the moments featuring Grace Ashcroft. The first half of Requiem is the culmination of a journey that began thirty years ago. On the other hand, when the ball passes to Leon Kennedy, it fails to find the same balance. The second half is sloppy—adequate at best—with action that shatters the equilibrium between tension and release. What is unforgivable is that it forgets everything good it built in the first part. There is very little beneath the dusty surface of nostalgia—only the bitterness of having squandered the chance to deliver a new modern classic, in the usual, futile attempt to please everyone.
-
Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil: Requiem embodies the series' familiar extremes between horror and action in a novel way. Its two protagonists, Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy, feel like they’re from different games, with Grace’s chapters embodying the slow pace and puzzle-solving of early Resident Evils, while Leon’s sections accelerate the action romp instincts of Resident Evil 4 even further. It’s an approach that peaks in an excellent first half that wields tonal whiplash to its advantage, before succumbing to second act blues as an increasing focus on nostalgia-bait dampens its originality.
-
Feb 25, 2026A heartbreaking tale of two games. The first half with Grace offers a tense, atmospheric survival horror experience that hints at a bright future for the franchise. However, the second half completely betrays that promise, descending into a chaotic mess of forced nostalgia, nonsensical retcons, and a disrespectful treatment of its new characters. While technically polished with solid gunplay and great visuals, Resident Evil Requiem is narratively bankrupt - a confused hybrid that sacrifices logic for cheap fanservice. A massive missed opportunity.
-
Feb 25, 2026What initially appear to be subtle nods to previous games quickly descend into unnecessary fan service. It doesn't help that every trick in the book is pulled out, and you can often see the jump scares coming a mile away. The game rarely surprises, except in its shift from camp to deadly seriousness. Resident Evil Requiem is a commendable game, but not as memorable as some other installments in the series. The ambitious game was supposed to be the culmination of thirty years of Resident Evil. But it plays it too safe and, unfortunately, rarely manages to truly surprise.
-
Feb 25, 2026For the very last (?) ride in Raccoon City, Resident Evil Requiem delivers a healthy blend of survival-horror tropes and references from almost every main episode of the franchise. Alas, this does also mean its edge is sometimes dulled by an avalanche of cameos, winks at the camera, and even more ridiculous twists than usual. While the Rhodes Hill center is one of the best Resident Evil locations ever put to screen with gorgeously detailed zombies and a tried-and-true approach to level design, the game does suffer from "Resident Evil syndrome" as quality, care and precision start waning as the adventure progresses. Still an essential buy for survival-horror enthusiasts.
-
Feb 25, 2026Heavy on nostalgia and fan service with the occasional violent delight thrown in, Requiem is a mostly fun Resident Evil title that still feels like a step down from its predecessor.

Feb 25, 2026Resident Evil Requiem is the perfect blend of the two sides of survival horror that Resident Evil established. There's the genuinely scary survival horror, where you have to manage your items, and then the badass action side, where you can vent your aggression built up from being scared.
-
Feb 25, 2026Requiem starts with a lot of promise, seemingly striving to pave the way for the future of the series that it then seems too afraid to follow through on, but the bigger swings it had the chance to take only happen if a game is interested in real introspection about its legacy. Resident Evil is 30 years old now, and we’ve reached a point in this medium’s existence where a lot of franchises are celebrating long lives and considering what the next 30 years looks like. Requiem seems mostly content to think about the past and not give much thought to the future. But hey, the guns shoot good, the scares still hit, and Leon still looks good in a tight shirt. So maybe there’s no real need to make sweeping changes when the formula of multiple eras still goes down real smooth, even if it leaves me feeling a little bit empty.
-
Feb 25, 2026Capcom isn’t out to radically reinvent its flagship series as it did with both Resident Evil 7 and Village. Instead, it plays like a coda to the original trilogy. It returns to the Raccoon City incident, both in its classic survival horror gameplay and story, to allow its characters to finally unpack decades of grief, regret, and survivor’s guilt. That’s what ultimately links Requiem’s two heroes together, even if their stories don’t totally fit together: Grace deals with loss on a micro level, while Leon deals with it on a macro one. Both face their fears for the hope that they get a chance to save even one life.
-
Feb 25, 2026If you’re a seasoned survival horror geek, Resident Evil Requiem might still worm its way under your skin like a persistent centipede. The game is dark and startling, with a rich story that unfolds smoothly between the dual perspectives.
-
Feb 25, 2026Over the years, Resident Evil has shown that it can be many different types of horror — and Requiem proves that the series can pull it all off in one single experience.
