    Anyone not giving this game at least a 9, are little kids expecting a Call of Duty experience. This game is an absolute masterpiece. The type of game that you may need to die a few times until it clicks for you. And it clicks with most people in one sitting.     Aside from a few questionable omissions, overall I’d say this is the greatest remake of all time for one of the greatest video games of all time.

    It was just the right balance of keeping the important stuff intact whilst changing a few things to freshen up the experience.

    I felt like a kid and like it was 2005 all over again. ☺️

    Incredible improvement on the original. Capcom has been killing it with RE and this game is no exception.

    One of the best games in recent years, can't even call it a remake. The title takes the base of RE4 and expands on in immensely. It cured my gaming impotency for crying out loud.

    As someone who never played the original Resident Evil 4, I can say that the remake is an excellent introduction to the game. The updated graphics and gameplay mechanics are impressive, and the storyline is engaging and suspenseful. The survival horror elements of the game keep you on the edge of your seat, while the action sequences provide a nice change of pace.     Following the excellent remakes of Resi 2+3 capcom have gone and exceeded all expectations, this is a true 10/10 game and definitely a contender for GOTY, now give us Code Veronica Remake!!!

    I would rate this an 11 if possible. Capcom is so far beyond most of their peers. They are in a golden age. The people running that studio, directing and producing these games, building the engine, have a tremendous vision and they know how to iterate. The open secret is that resident evil 4 did not need a remake. It was even re-released a year ago for VR. How many games from theI would rate this an 11 if possible. How many games from the early 2000’s can you think of that could be re-released today and still be received well? It’s an elite list of timeless games like RE4, Half Life 2 and a handful of others. It’s because they are good games that are fun to play and have such a quality art style that they are always nice to look at even though technology has moved forward. So no, RE4 doesn’t need a remake. A HD rerelease with new textures would have suited it fine (and some fans have already done this). But what we got is so f***ing good that it justifies its own existence. This is one of the best games ever all on its own. So thank you Capcom, again, for your dedication to quality from top to bottom: Concept, Art, Level Design, Combat, Graphics, Performance, Cinematics. This game excels in every category, and once again sets the benchmark for action horror.… Expand

    Let me put y’all onto something, the negative reviews are from perverts who are pissed that you can’t look up Ashley’s skirt because she actually has AI that knows how to climb down a ladder. The game is a perfect 10, it does everything the OG Resident Evil 4 did but does it 10x better than the original.

    Despite me being someone who said they should not remake this game, I cannot deny that this improves upon the original in so many ways in terms of combat, player choices, weapons, enemy behaviour and variety, scale and atmosphere. It's an even bigger game, clealry made with love and respect for the original.     Wow they did it, made another greatest game of all time. To spite the game urinalists this is a reminagining of the origional and dosent detract from th origional GC Masterpeice at all. Just now there is 2 legendary games named RE4. Game is perfect besides the dead zone on Xbox needs fixing .

Dude, esas microtransacciones no son obligatorias, las compras si quieres, si no, no es necesario comprarlas, no entiendo porque tanto lloriqueo sobre este tema. Por otro lado los DLCs estarán próximamente disponibles también.

    En conclusión, mi consejo es que no se dejen influenciar por las malas reseñas de Metacritic, seguramente muchas de esas personas no jugaron el juego, RE4 Remake no te decepcionara, hizo un trabajo magistral, si acaso lo único que no me gustó fue que Leon se mueve algo lento, pero eso le agrega un factor de tensión extra que le viene muy bien al Gameplay. 10/10 Capcom la volvió a romper.    … Expand

    Great game and great games deserves to be recommended and played. Especially good if you play in Performance Mode and disable a few settings and adjust the aiming. Also a VRR supported display is recommended to mitigate any stuttering.

    Not much to add here, except that this is a perfect remake. It modernizes, reinvents and at the same time, stays very true to the source material. It doesn't feel rushed or lacking content like RE3 remake. Also, superb production values, much better writing and creepier atmosphere than the original.

    Just beautiful.

It makes your ability to adapt and learn questionable to say the very least. That and "It doesn't feel like a RE game" absolute waffle    This is arguably one of the best remakes Capcom have done.

    Whilst not being a perfect 1 to 1 remake, I don't think that would have been the right thing to do. There are plenty of areas within the game that just feel incredibly familiar even without it being a direct copy of the original. It targets a nostalgic portion and targets a newer crowd a good mix that isn't trying to just be a simple copy paste something which RE2:Remake was guilty of. The fact this game isn't trying to be an entire copy paste is the reason its probably the best remake in the series.

    Puzzles have been slightly improved so they no longer are of the bog standard basic version that the OG RE4 were. Another nod to the nostalgic portion of RE fans who can never be pleased.    … Expand

Muitas cenas, capazes de provocar crises de riso como o Leon pulando sobre as paredes de laser foram retiradas perpetuando um tom mais sério ao jogo.     Great game, they fix everything of what was wrong in the original, dont get me wrong, the original is a masterpiece, but this is by far superior, they fix mechanics and added things that the original didnt have, a new classic, love it.

    An absolutely fantastic remake, everything I could have wanted from the single player campaign. Beautifully done locations, epic set pieces and boss battles, all the cheesy memorable characters (Ada, Luis, Merchant, Ramon) and dialogue you expect. Well done Capcom. Even Ashley was less annoying than before. Hoping for Mercenaries mode.

Literally my only gripe, if I had to nitpick at worst, is that the game design habit of splashing yellow paint on any interactable object like ladders or barrels kind of broke the immersion for me.     Arguably you could also make the case that you prefer the voice acting of OG Ada, Krauser, Saddler, ...

    I would agree to an extent, though that's completely subjective. I find it important to highlight however that people tend to forget how much Ashley's dialogue has improved and like to only focus on the negatives when there's far more positives that never get mentioned.

    Honestly that's literally the only downside I can possibly even think of, which is very remarkable, especially with the state of video games nowadays.    … Expand

    Old man, buy without fear if you already played the original or are adventuring now. Fluid gameplay, too much narrative/voicing. Jokes at the right time with Leon's good humor. Charismatic characters, excellent gameplay. Grade 10!

    Negative point: RE4 without zombies but then it's not the fault of the remake because the original didn't have it either, it's CAPCOM's fault.

    Obra maestra. Gran juego de acción con un gran equilibrio entre personajes, historia, gameplay, duración…
    La gran importancia de los cuchillos en los combates me ha encantado, así como la posibilidad del sigilo en ciertos momentos. Juego 10/10 y para mí candidato a GOTY

    This game is truly fantastic, it fixes nearly all the problems from the other remake titles from the past and improves on a lot of the outdated stuff from the original game (especially the castle sections pacing). As someone who played the original to death I feel like this game does the original justice and is now a top 3 contender for one of my personal all time favorite games ever

They also reworked the characters interactions by making everyone way more interesting. Don't understand some clown haters trying to bomb with bad scores and not giving any true point of this game or trying to argue his words, that's funny because you can go wherever you wanna go and you will see and read that this game is being literally loved and enjoyed by almost everyone.

    A very faithful remake to the original source material. While the level design has changed significantly, the overall feel and atmosphere is perfectly preserved. While some sections feel trundicated slightly there is plenty of additional content which expands on the original game which keeps things fresh with some welcome surprises.     As much as this site is full of trolls and bots giving low ratings, this game remains a masterpiece and a great homage to the original. Improved art direction, graphics and mainly the characters of the story, which became more consistent and well-executed, in addition to bringing a more challenging gameplay. One of the best in the franchise.

    I won't write too much. But I can definitely recommend the game to everyone who liked the other remakes. It isn't a complete new game (I mean its a remake) but it changed enough to feel good to play today. For me is absolutely amazing. Can't way for the separate ways dlc and later the next Remake.

    Capcom have managed to create one of the greatest games of all time yet again. Captures everything I loved about the original, which is/was my favorite game. Leon is as cool as ever, arguably his best appearance in the series. He manages to show much more emotion in this one, while still keeping his badass attitude. It's full of content, with my first playthrough taking over 20 hours, in comparison to RE Village taking me 11 hours. I recommend this game to anybody that's a fan of the series, survival horror games, or just third person shooters in general. I promise you will get your money's worth.     I wasn't a fan of the original Resident Evil 4, which game I really didn't like to play. But, in this remake (2023), I really enjoyed to play, and I'm also playing because it's so awesome. Especially the characters, 'cause they had an amazing evolution and personalities. This time, Resident Evil 4 is one of the best Resident Evil's games for me.

The fact is that now we have 2 sides of a perfect game. 2 options for the gamers. The only thing i missed in the remake is the OVER THE TOP cutscenes. But it's fine because the remake is a more serious game and that helps it to be more grounded and realistic in 2023. So Capcom almost never dissapoints when it comes to remakes (except Resident Evil 3 which is a good game but with a lot of cut material and it seems more like an expansion rather than a full length game). And let's hope for the next remake to be RESIDENT EVIL CODE VERONICAAAAAA !!!!!!… Expand

    Absolutely fantastic reimagining of a true classic. I loved what they did with the story and characters. Made them feel like real people and less cartoon like. Original was fantastic but I think the Remake truly surpassed it. Game play is frantic and anxiety inducing in the best way possible, graphics are good too but not breath taking, and the soundtrack is great. The game felt perfectlyAbsolutely fantastic reimagining of a true classic. I loved what they did with the story and characters. Made them feel like real people and less cartoon like. Original was fantastic but I think the Remake truly surpassed it. The game felt perfectly balanced and had reasonable difficulty spikes to keep it from getting too easy/ loosing the feeling of dread. I like how they added more horror elements than the original as well because Resident Evil is a horror series at the end of the day, and 4 always felt a little too action oriented to me. Also I like that they removed the QTEs because those were so annoying in the original. My only complaint is that Ada Wongs new voice actor isn't as good as the one they used in RE2 Remake, but she isn't terrible either. Overall I believe that it is a true GOTY contender and think it's a must buy for fans of survival horror and action adventure games.… Expand

    A great remake of an existing great game, the only sad part I find is the troll reviews that for some unknown and most likely stupid reason they review bomb the game, at least on Steam for PC you only see verified purchase reviews with an overwhelming 97% positive reviews, that alone speaks volumes.

    So yeah ignore the idiots and play this amazing game.

    Capcom managed to improve in every respect a game that was now crushed by the weight of years. The action remained a central point of the production but is now more balanced, plus the game has lost that excessive b-movie character. thank you Capcom

    The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
