  • Summary: A bone-chilling body-horror game with escape room gameplay. Bad decisions have brought Matthew to this terrifying motel. Now it’s up to you to decide how to escape - will you make it out alive?

    It's a small adventure, by no means it's a blockbuster, but even so it manages to engage you. And that's because its original gameplay and a well-crafted atmosphere. If you like indie horror, you should give it a go.

    Focusing on puzzles rather than action – most noteworthy encounters are delivered via quick time events – Oxide Room 104 may be rough around the edges but it has a certain something that elevates it above many of its competitors. It has a genuinely oppressive atmosphere, its puzzles are engaging, and its looping mechanic adds a exciting twist. If you’re a survival horror fan looking for something that will occupy an evening or two, this may just fit the bill.

    Aside from a few strange or seemingly missing reactions from Matt, there are interesting puzzles, a creepy antagonist, and several nightmarish creatures to kill or avoid throughout the game. Being able to choose which rooms to explore helps to create different experiences over multiple runs. Not every key needs to be used before one of the endings is unlocked, so it will likely take a few playthroughs to figure out how everything in the motel is connected and what's inside all of the rooms in Oxide Room 104.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. From the start, it looks like late ps3 graphics which irritated me already that I paid almost $30 for. The voice acting is super amateur. I died 3x already and everytime, it starts you back in room 104, (where you start in the game). You're clueless on what to shoot, and if you shoot at a certain enemy in a room, you go back to the beginning? So fking dumb;
    Which then makes you afraid to shoot at anything at all that moves, because it might just start you back at the beginning!!
    The only plus, is it's a fun puzzle game, where you have to pretty much search every nook/cranny to advance.
    Other than that, it's boring, irritating, and lifeless with cheap "scares."

Silent Hill decorated escape room. Some scares were okay and some puzzles were too. One small flaw was that the character you play would not stop saying he had to get out of the hotel. Like every 3 minutes. The REAL reason the game is getting a zero from me, is because it was $30, for two f*ucking hours. I was so pissed when it ended suddenly. After what was suppose to be a cliffhanger, but really just came off as the next part of the game was coming up- some forest part. Then, credits. ....Buy the game when it is 2.99 Expand
