Dec 4, 2024Whether you seek an addictive platformer, a substantial action experience with incredible presentation, or a new challenge, Nine Sols offers all this and more.
-
Nov 26, 2024A fantastic metroidvania offering one of the genre's most interesting combat systems and surprisingly human characters set in a brutal world.
-
Nov 25, 2024In a genre as competitive as metroidvania, Nine Sols shines with rewarding combat mechanics, challenging battles, and a gripping story that combines concepts of religion and science to create a unique setting.
-
Nov 29, 2024Nine Sols will test you, but the atmosphere is stunning, the combat is thrilling, and the story is a fascinating mix of mysticism and sci-fi — so you'll meet the challenge happily. This is the best Metroidvania out there right now. Don't miss it.
-
Dec 5, 2024Nine Sols raises the bar and sets a new standard for Indie games. It's engaging and full of emotion and tells a deep and meaningful story through its stunning art design, once again proving that big ideas are better than big budgets.
-
Nov 25, 2024This atmospheric Metroidvania is mechanically, emotionally, and philosophically electrifying.
-
Dec 3, 2024Nine Sols oozes passion for the genre, conveys competence and a compact vision of game design, but in a metroidvania universe now quite full of titles there's a lot of struggling to stand out. Nine Sols does this in its own way, fusing gameplay that has already been thoroughly digested through its sources of inspiration with a visual style that, however, did not make us confident. Red Candle's Taopunk didn't make us confident and that's a shame, because the game is fun, satisfying and has its moments of absolute merit. Buy it if you like metroidvanias regardless, but be prepared to digest a visual system that is well realised on a technical level, but struggles to stand out artistically.
