    I had a such an amazing time with this game. The story in this game was incredible! It contained so many addicting elements that it made me continue to play for hours! The gameplay wasn’t the best, and the visuals wasn’t the greatest, but In my opinion, the story is the greatest piece of this game.

    Guardians of the Galaxy is the Mass Effect Andromeda we wanted. The space setting, the interaction with the characters (crew), the style of combat and the gaming experience in general is a better version of a Mass Effect game we wanted; add the awesome music and the absurd jokes of the characters and you got your self a blast of an experience.

    The gameplay is so super smooth and the actual game looks stunning.

    Theres such a wide variety of enemies and the game let's you tune the difficulty to suit your liking.

    The music is just absolutely amazing. Some amazing hits and classics. There's this thing called a huddle and after doing this correctly the classic hits start playing and it just makes you wish it never stopped. The story is very well made and progresses nicely with some moments being more emotional then others.

    Honestly this is a just buy for anyone who loves the Guardians of the galaxy but also people who just want to have fun.

    The start is a little slow but once it gets started it doesn't slow down the combat is very nice and diverse due to the team mechanics and honestly I never have gotten bored of fighting.

    10/10 I hope they make another one. Well done Square Enix.    … Expand

    Easily one of the best super hero games and a great game in general. Really the only issue I had was occasionally enemies would go out of bounds stopping progress but the game had good enough checkpoint that it didn't matter

    I was genuinely shocked at how much I enjoyed this game. I can understand some minor criticism of the gameplay loop however I personally found this to be akin to the Spider-Man or Batman games. They’ve set solid foundations for a series and the writing and VO was top notch. It’s like the movies but in my opinion this is slightly better and is definitely full of charm, humour and a greatI was genuinely shocked at how much I enjoyed this game.     Fighting is amazing, visuals are awesome, gameplay is stellar. Combos are dope as well as the easy battle system. Was very surprised this would be a good game. However Disney continues to pander to the female antagonists and don’t ever use men anymore. Seems sexist.

    I have played many games in my life. But this game is a flarking masterpiece. Period. This is the most stunning looking game ever made in my opinion. The character animations, lip sync, and expressions were close to perfect

    Half way though i was sure i was going to give this a 9/10. Unfortunatly, things get a little too repetitive. The story is good, the characters, music....all good. ive never played a game with so many 'sliding down' sections though......also the same few enemys throughout. The dialogue got very tiresome at times ('we're a team' x100,000 times). Just dragged on a bit too long for my liking.Half way though i was sure i was going to give this a 9/10.     The game is astonishing from the beginning to the end. They really nailed storytelling and dialogues, you are constantly entertained and never bored.. Action is great and graphics breathtaking. One of the better Marvel games and one of the best Story based linear games i played in my life.

    I flarking love this game! Im on chapter 9 and I cant stop playing it because it gets better and better each new chapter. Beautiful graphics. Awesome game play. Entertaining story. Great 80s music! I would of gave it a 10 but I got stuck in multiple spots throughout the game where I had to restart my game to get unstuck because the traversal isn't that good, its not bad but I think itI flarking love this game!     Absolutely a great game and definitely true to the spirit of the movies. If your a guardians fan this game is most certainly for you!! The gameplay can be a little taxing at times but only because quills weapons seem underwhelming for most of the game. The story offsets that with no problem. It was a journey worth taking and a story worth hearing .

    Really really fun. Heavy on story over gameplay (even for someone who loves story heavy games). Seriously felt like 80% story to 20% gameplay. The 3rd act drags a fair bit as well, so I was a little tired out when all was said and done. Regardless of that, it's clearly a game that has surprised everyone. Myself included.

    Really solid Marvel game with a surprisingly great story that dives deep into each characters. The game starts slow but really ramps up after the first act with tons of secrets to explore. The combat I felt was basic but still fun if you can get into it. Overall it was a solid experience and I hope to have a sequel its way better than their previous title Marvels Avengers.

    If you compare it to horizon zero dawn its a joke but runs at a much lower frame rate. Unlike the wonky launch frame rate and the devs last game , marvels    Play it for the story.     The game i believe is a good length but i havent finish it yet. No online and no microtransactions thank goodness. Maybe story dlc if we're lucky in time. I dont think you even need to like the films as its an all new cast and timeline.

    Id buy it on sale due to high cost but i would but it if you like marvel comics and fun stories and 80s scifi. If they can optimise it on pspro to run over 25 fps at all times or add a performance mode then its an easy 8.    … Expand

    Awesome graphics, funny and smart dialogues, good enough story, just pure fun. This game came out of nowhere for me and it was a refreshing experience. I can easily say that it is one of the best games of PS5. Also the lenght of the game is just perfect. 15-20h lineer campaign with good amount of collectibles and progression system. Plus perfectly balanced platinum trophy. Just perfect.

Its easily one of the best stories I've seen all year in video games. The characters are really well done, even if not all of them are given equal bill throughout the game as it goes along.     Unfortunately not everything comes together here as the combat and gameplay is at best boring and lame. There's very few upgrades to pick up throughout the game and alot of enemies, especially toward the end of the game, have huge health bars that make things grind to a slowdown. Also the massive amount of bugs that I ran into here involving character animations and clipping would fill at 30 min video. There were easily dozens of them every chapter and I have no idea what caused any of them to occur. I didnt have any crashes but the sheer amount of them really took me out of some scenes.
    Even still this is an easy recommendation for me. Especially for anyone who only knows these characters from the MCU as this is definitely much more focused on alot of comic book storylines and really can show the range that some of these characters can have. The story and characters here are definitely worth the price of admission, even if the combat and bugs tried to slow it down.    … Expand

    What a amazing experience! The story and characters were 100% a 10/10 absolutely loved the linear approach and amazing mocap and acting! Loved this more than the movies combined and that's truly saying something! ❤️

    Pretty mediocre shooter with quite a few bugs; better than Avengers was but Disney and Marvel should really demand better. At least the frequent bugs are fairly minor

    По порядку - драчки максимально пресные, без глубины, тактики, интересных механик и прочего. Даже с учетом особенностей дуалсенса не ощущалась стрельба, удары, взрывы и т д, будто 20ч месишь тряпичные марли - удовольствие ниже среднего, бегаешь и прожимаешь абилки команды, местами прям ну супер уныло было. Разнообразие противников так же оставляет желать лучшего - кучка рескинов. Битвы с боссами такие же скучные, как и с рядовыми противниками.
    Головоломок и загадок нет, весь геймплей сводится к беганию между комнатками, и просмотром кинца, или слушанию трындежа (хотя трындеж порой годный), и пострелушками.
    Некоторые локации затянуты, битвы так же затянуты, куча устаревших геймдизайнерских решений, вроде БЕСКОНЕЧНЫХ узких проходов, покатых крыш, вентиляций и прочих непотребностей.
    Как ни странно, но даже с учетом всех минусов - один из претендентов на игру года, но опять же, с учетом общей тухлости 2021 на крутые релизы, а так же за отсутствие в проекте современных болячек ААА-индустрии, в виде лутбоксов, сервисных помоек, донатных скинов, ускорителей прокачки и всякого другого мусора.    … Expand

    I went into this game with really low expectations after Avengers, but boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. This game is a blast! The combat can be a bit overwhelming at first because a big part of it involves directing your fellow Guardians while you play as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord). But there’s such a wide variety of enemies that you’re forced to change it up and try new things, soI went into this game with really low expectations after Avengers, but boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. This game is a blast! The combat can be a bit overwhelming at first because a big part of it involves directing your fellow Guardians while you play as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord). But there’s such a wide variety of enemies that you’re forced to change it up and try new things, so it never gets boring or too repetitive. Despite not being an open-world game, GotG provides so much action, adventure, & exploration that I found myself not caring too much. I’m happy to report that it is not a short game, at least, not as short as I’d feared. The story is comprised of 16 chapters that each took me about 1-2 hours to complete (give or take). If you’re someone like me who likes to find collectibles & outfits, then it will probably run you about 20-25 hours of gameplay.

    By far, the best thing about this game (besides the 80s music!) is the characters. They may not look like their movie counterparts, but they talk & act just like them and I didn’t realize how much it mattered to me until now. Rocket is still Rocket, Drax still takes everything literally (and has that hilarious laugh). Their familiarity & chemistry is what makes this game great. I was also surprised at how many other familiar characters are featured (or mentioned) in the game. There’s so many references to Marvel lore that fans are going to have a field day. As with any game, there is always room for improvement and GotG is no exception. At multiple points while playing, I found myself thinking of ways this game could’ve been so much better (like being able to switch between characters). Despite those moments when it left me wanting, I enjoyed the heck out of it nevertheless. So for that reason I’m giving it an 8 out of 10. Definitely worth the $60 price.    … Expand

    Awesome visuals, voice overs, cinematics, and music. Gameplay variety doesn't match the length of the game though. You basically go through the same gameplay loop over and over again through all the chapters. It feels like a chore after awhile, and I just wanted to finish the game. The gameplay is pretty brainless.

    The game is set up exactly like the MCU GotG movies. There is tons of humor, lots of banter between the squad members, and a great space adventure to be experienced. It's nice that the voice actors and the graphics artists are not trying to emulate the looks of the MCU versions of Star-Lord et al., and each hero is a unique reinterpretation of the originals from the comic books.

    GotG is a squad-based light RPG in the style of Mass Effect. You control Star-Lord and give commands to the AI controlled party members. The game is single player and very linear, which is a good thing for story-based games, in a world where every game tries to be a 60-hours-long open world epic, or even worse, a live service game (Avengers, I'm looking at you).

    The graphics are great to look at, but the game's optimization is sub-par. On PS5 you can choose between a Quality mode (4K at 30 fps) and a Performance 60 fps mode that drops resolution lower than expected, down to just 1080p, along with lower quality settings. Animation is OK even though nothing extraordinary, but it's still a big improvement compared with the E3 2021 trailer where animation quality was utter junk. There are still patches coming to fix streaming issues and little visual bugs, but I don't expect developers to improve this game as much as they'd have to. There is a clear lack of budget and time to polish the game well enough.

    What this game lacks in technical deficiency makes up for it with an excellent soundtrack. There are lots of licensed songs from the '80s, as well an an original heavy metal album with songs written by the fictitious Star-Lord band. You can even read the in-game CD album's lyrics sheet, like everyone used to in the past, at the game's intro. And if you are a streamer, you can select to feature only the original album in the background in order to avoid music labels taking down your streams.

    Overall, GotG is a must play game for everyone. It has some technical deficiencies, but it also has a lot of heart inside. I'd rate it higher if it was more polished, but it's still a great game.    … Expand

    Seems word of mouth has spread fast - GOTG really is as well put together as the positive reviews suggest. Ultimately everything comes together to tell a great comic book story in an fun interactive way.

    In many ways it follows the success of other action adventure comic book games like spiderman and arkham and although at times comes close to those, it is not a perfect gameplay experience.

    In my opinion the combat gameplay is the weak link here but it is functional enough so as not to break pacing too much and at times can be quite challenging.    … Expand

    Skeptical at first after watching gameplay videos but I can now say that this is my favorite game of the year so far, what an amazing ride! Thank you Square Enix and Eidos Montreal for this masterpiece, please make a sequel!

Graphically the game is gorgeous, gives you plenty of unique locations to explore, and has some very impressive facial animations. A big concern from the trailers was the comedy. it came off as incredibly corny and seemed as ifFor a game i thought was going to be even worse than the Avengers game, i was 100% happy to eat my own words. I was absolutely stunned at how awesome this game is. Graphically the game is gorgeous, gives you plenty of unique locations to explore, and has some very impressive facial animations. The banter between the characters is very natural and feels as if they really are having conversations with each other. Drax may have some of my favorite lines in the game. The story itself is very good, has some real moments with heart, and kept a good pace throughout. The gameplay is pretty fun but is also my only real complaint with the game. While the combat system works fine, it can be really repetitive at times, and i feel it needs more refining in certain areas. Ultimately the game won me over very early on and i am happy i gave it a chance because the trailers did not do this game justice. In fact the trailers seemed to have hurt the game. So it's good to see the word of mouth is getting it the recognition it deserves.… Expand

    Arcadey in a great way, with deep story (like, real deep) that never lets up: best 18 hours ever in a game, right up there with Mass Effect and co!!

    Awesome game that seemed to come from knowhere. Great story, watching the team grow as you progress through the game is great fun. Combat is alot better than I expected after you get most of your abilities. The Writing is great throughout with a few laugh out loud moments. If you like the mcu Guardian's of the galaxy you should definitely play this game.

Exploration is fun but with very few surprises. Yet I found myself looking forward to both the combat and the exploration, partly due to the incredible banter the team provides, and partly due to wanting to see what came next. The story is more based on the comic Guardians rather than those in the big Marvel movies, though if your experience is limited to the MCU, you'll know enough to catch on easily.

    Character development is where this game shines. It's like binge-watching your favorite Netflix show in video game form. It's loaded with dialogue, so much so that if you run/walk full speed between areas, you will often miss whole chunks of discussion between the team. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the jokes, and there are plenty of those to be had.

    On the downside, the game suffers from technical issues, even after the latest patch. There are some texture issues, pop-in in some scenes, and a few odd bugs, ranging from button prompts stuck on the screen to missing dialogue (I know Groot is just saying "I am Groot" each time, but I still want to hear it!). Another tick in the negative column is replayability. As I said before, the base gameplay is not super compelling, and even though you are given a multitude of choices during the game, they typically don't have far-reaching consequences. Once you experience the story, you might want another playthrough for kicks, but there's not enough here to justify more than 2 or 3 playthroughs.

    Still, it's a great single-player story-driven game and well worth your time.    … Expand

Had some strange difficulty spikes here and there, but nothing insurmountable, and the combat doesn't really open up until the second half when you unlock more of the team's abilities. Also came acrossSo good. Great story-driven game with exceptionally good writing. Plays like a lightweight Uncharted type adventure, with combat somewhere between Mass Effect 2 and Final Fantasy 7 remake.     Youll be going forward through these linear sections, dealing with obstacles in the way and uing the other guradians to progress such as groot making a bridge or drax tipping things over or breaking walls.. and then there will be a fight, enemies will swarm you and you use your abilities and command the other 4 guardians for them to do teir special moves, and youll be able to fill up a meter to huddle up for some extra damage and listen to some classic 80s tunes while you kick alien butt.. at first this is all really fun, but eventually it just becomes tiresome, combat is so repetitive and a slog to get though due to how spongy enemies are, it just never feels satisfying and was my least favorite part of the game.. I enjoyed the traversing and problem solving, dealing with waves of bullet sponges, not so much…
    That’s being said, marvels guardians of the galaxy is a crazy goofy adevnute, there are great action pieces here.. the world is fun to get around, the writing is hilarious at times, and I loved the incorporation of 80s music,
    The game does overstay its welcome for somone not really a fan of the IP, but this is still a great game to run through

    You play as Star Lord through out the galaxy and adventure that embark on with your team. You are tied to just playing as star lord but can command the other guardians to do certain actions in and out of combat, now I never thought this concept would work to its full potential, but it does work better then any other game I could think of with this type of game play especially in battle. In combat you feel like a general on a battle field commanding your soldiers to unleash a devastating attack while you are distracting them with your blasters which unfortunately in this game feel like the weakest weapon in the game unless you are unloading a special attack, but none the less they do work. Combat at times can feel a little chaotic but its a good thing that works in this game. Each combat scenario you do will give you a grade at the end with points that allows you to unlock more abilities for each guardian. One very unique thing in combat that I never got tired was the huddle system where if you were losing a battle you could do a football huddle with the other guardians and boost morale in the battle, then an amazing 80’s song would play which amped you the player and your team up to win the battle

    While you are not in combat you are on your ship the Milano talking with the guardians finding out back stories, upgrading Star Lord Specific abilities from currency or tech pieces that you find from the places and planets you visit. When you are on planets and not in combat the games feels very familiar I would easily compare it to Naughty Dogs Uncharted from the exploration, collecting costumes and logs to sliding down a mountain side and having to jump at the last minute to make it to the next cliff before plummeting to your ultimate death.

    The Soundtrack is one thing I want to talk about in this game it is by far one of the best licensed soundtracks when it comes to video games for myself I would easily put this soundtrack right up there with Mafia 3. When it battle there is nothing greater then listening to the final countdown by Europe or I need a hero by Bonnie Tyler which I always associate with the movie Footloose. The game is filled with lots of 80’s rock and pop hits which is very cool and nice to see because what would Guardians Of The Galaxy be without the awesome licensed music.

    Each Guardian is just like how they are portrayed in the movies, Star Lord is his comical witty self, Gamora is quiet but deadly, Drax is funny but on a path of revenge, Groot can only say one sentence and yup you guess it “ I am Groot”, Rocket is the furious potty mouth raccoon every one knows and loves & I would not have them any other way.

    Guardians Of The Galaxy is way more than I expected I went into this game blind and with no expectations but I loved every moment and I highly recommend for everyone to pick this game up at some point or another. I give Guardians of the Galaxy a 9/10.

    Wow, i did not expect this to be such a good game. The gameplay is certainly fun but maybe a bit too chaotic.
    Tho, story, the blabbering, the atmosphere and the music are insanly good. Oh and also it good a decent lenght of 15 hours with replayability cause of some intresting dialouge options

    I was pretty skeptical of this game at first. Knowing how Marvels Avengers was, I did not have high hopes for this game. Man am I glad I was wrong! The game is beautiful, the gameplay feels smooth, the dialogue and voice acting were fun and funny at times, and the puzzles were easy but don't hold your hand. The combat can feel a little repetitive at times and I wasn't a huge fan of howI was pretty skeptical of this game at first. Knowing how Marvels Avengers was, I did not have high hopes for this game. Man am I glad I was wrong! The game is beautiful, the gameplay feels smooth, the dialogue and voice acting were fun and funny at times, and the puzzles were easy but don't hold your hand. The combat can feel a little repetitive at times and I wasn't a huge fan of how Star Lords gun heats up so quick, but those are things that I could easily look past.     Put simply: it’s a great single player game. Great story. Fun gameplay. Great voice acting. It makes me excited about where this could go in future. Refreshing.

    Guardians of Galaxy are the real blast that Marvel fans needed after more than mediocre Avengers. The “worst” part of the game is a mere fact, that you are not able to enjoy every single comment in the background and enjoy very well written characters.

    The story is entertaining, and it features characters from the Marvel universe that haven't yet surfaced in the movies, such as Fin Fang Foom, Lady Hellbender and the Nova Corps. Add in the requisite humor and self-deprecation and an eclectic killer soundtrack, and you get one of the most enjoyable games of the year.
