I love the game best madden in 6 years. Love playing the mini games again, like the way the gameplay feels new and challenging, no longer can you run the same plays over and over and get away with it. I've played about 10 games already and I love it! I haven't noticed one glitch yet in any of the games I've played! The gameplay also feels very smooth and franchise is the deepest it's been since Madden 12. I also love that mini games are back, and there's a ton of them, some new some old and improved upon. This is the most fun I've had playing Madden in a very long time!

While I wish more was added as well as replacing the Frostbite Engine with a better engine, Madden NFL 24 plays up to it's strength with the new improvements that can help the series see a new long term plan ahead.

I don't get the hatred. People know what this game is before they buy it, so the bad reviews are likely from bitter former Madden fans who refuse to buy the game and then give it zeroes and ones every year on here, just because EA still has the exclusive NFL license. I'll concede that aspect is annoying, and I wish there were more competition out there for football simulation, but theseI don't get the hatred. People know what this game is before they buy it, so the bad reviews are likely from bitter former Madden fans who refuse to buy the game and then give it zeroes and ones every year on here, just because EA still has the exclusive NFL license. I'll concede that aspect is annoying, and I wish there were more competition out there for football simulation, but these extreme reviews don't help anyone who likes Madden and is on the fence about buying the new one. So I'll give you an honest 8 of 10 rundown:

    Pros:
-Updated player animations during and after the play. Tackling, blocking and after the whistle activity is definitely closer to real life
-Gameplay on PS5 is solid and feels really good to play, and it seems they finally made All-Pro difficulty a challenge again
-No crashes, visual glitches, or game breaking bugs that I've discovered so far.
-Franchise mode has updated some of the team relocation options; including adding new cities, and the freedom to choose any team concept for any city, but still lacks true customization and innovation. Overall it's a plus, but one with an asterisk
-Haptic feedback on the Dualsense controller is second to none, and a truly nice feeling experience
    -Mini games have returned
-Rosters have been updated (just kidding, that was for the trolls)

    Cons:
-As described, franchise mode team relocation is still very limited in terms of customization and has you still choosing presets, with a little more freedom than we've had in the last decade. Still this is a big miss, since Maddens from 15 years ago let you choose all your colors, uniform designs, type in your own team name, create your stadiums etc
-The menu UI is still slow and clunky. I never understood why it was this way, especially now on the SSD of a PS5
-For many people it may appear to be the same game, especially for those who don't bother playing it, or even care about football to begin with. I think hating EA and automatically writing the game off will definitely help it look the same for some people. It plays really well though
-Ultimate team is still something they push in the game, and I think that mode has always been crap, and an attempt to pressure someone into mictrotransactions. But being someone who has always ignored Ultimate team, it doesn't bother me that much. Old school Madden players just want Franchise mode
-Superstar mode is a "new" concept in this year's Madden, taking the place of the incredibly boring Face of the Franchise mode we've had the last few years. Problem with Superstar mode is that it's almost as equally uninteresting, and no matter how you make your created player look, they still speak like a gen-Z kid from the ghetto in cutscenes, without any way of changing your voice or body language. Nice try, but I don't come to Madden for little interactive cutscene movies with response choices while my character says things like "lit" and "fam". If I want to roleplay as a young quarterback, I'd like to do so as a version of myself, not be forced into what EA's singular idea of who an athlete is

I haven't tried the online multiplayer matchmaking yet, but I'm sure it's the same as last year's which would be a good thing since it was mostly stable and straight-forward. Overall, it's a good game. It's not a perfect 10, but I didn't anticipate that when I paid the $70. That's why these 0 and 1 reviews are clearly from people who didn't pay the $70. They were never going to buy it, but they will certainly still review the game. Funny how that happens.

    Summary, I enjoy this game.
My biggest issue with the game is still the lack of create-a-team. You could give me a game with a robust CAT feature and that alone would make me rather content. I play mostly offline franchise and Superstar mode. So I'm not a competitive gamer and I don't carry any baggage of those types of players. I don't think yearly releases are conducive for development

I like this years version! It has huge gameplay improvements compared to last year. The AI is so much better now, finally! It calls Audibles before plays, tries to read your defense. The player faces are really really into detail. On Field all good as well and with the recent patch nice new crowd chants.

The bad - presentation went a step back. shorter intros before game, less in game data - still old Superbowl presentation -.-

All in all - great year for football!

Excellent graphics; Improved animations; More skill-based controls and manoeuvrability.
Bad- Some undercooked minigames; Added (and some returning) elements with less functional impact such as Team Relocation; Occasional unrefined offensive running play mechanics; A lack of any truly impactful additions to the overall package in favor of making smaller improvements. Thoughts-

At the end of the day, Madden NFL 24 walks a fine line between creating value for returning players and actually doing something truly substantial with the series. Madden 24 might have the monopoly on NFL games, but comparatively, it doesn’t feel as bold as other sporting games in the marketplace. Madden NFL 24 will undoubtedly inch players closer to an authentic football experience with greater detail in on-the-field play, but it lacks even a modicum of freshness from a franchise that has felt mediocre for a few years now.

My first game was madden 2003 on ps2. I have been with the franchise for 4 console generations and this will be my last game. The NFL and EA are examples of two giant entities who sold out to push an agenda and indoctrinate the youth. They didn't do that when I was a kid. Goodbye Madden

While some of the frustrations of rubberbanding and hyper-animation driven on the field outcomes, rather than skill based outcomes, have been improved, there are still maddening (pun intended) things that happen all over the field, the interface is brutally clunky and slow, and I still can't believe we don't have historic teams as we did so many years ago. You don't need player licenses if you use different names/numbers, and just build the historic teams to specification, and allow the player to edit the rest. Until the Frostbite engine is scrapped, and the series totally rebooted, I fear we're going to continue to get absolute mediocrity time and time and time again. The blocking AI is still...ah...absolutely terrible. Just make room for other developers at this point, please. Expand

Can't even play franchise mode with all the bugs relating to roster editing and draft classes. Another year of broken promises from EA. On the bright side the player models look great and they're a huge improvement, yet this is utterly meaningless if I can't even start a franchise.

Madden development is simple, they built out the base of the game years ago and then add minor improvements on top of it every year. Here's the problem, the base of the game (frostbite engine) is objectively buggy and a terrible fit for an NFL simulation game.

EA own the frostbite engine, they're fully committed to polishing a turd every single year. The game has no shot at being good

    - Presentation is lifeless
    - Players have no unique feel
    - Ratings/Depth Charts are a mess
    - Gameplay is heavily animation based and lack nuance
    - Lacks any sort of human element, it's robotic and soulless
    - Speed variation, acceleration, between offense/defense is a mess

Play the 10 hour trial and find out for yourself, it's objectively a terrible NFL sim that doesn't even succeed at being remotely fun in an arcadey sense. It's frankly sad that two companies (NFL & EA) that make money hand over fist collaborate every year on copy-paste game that leaves many fans feeling ripped off and deceived. Save your money unless you're easily impressed, absolute stinker.

Tried to get back into madden after putting it down after Madden 16 and I’m disappointed that glitches still run ramped throughout gameplay. Presentation has low effort and overall it’s the same Madden for the past 10 years with slightly better graphics. Sports games are in a terrible place and EA is the source of the problem, Madden 24 is not worth the purchase.

Madden NFL 24 does provide a pretty good simulation of NFL football when you’re on the field. The animations and AI are improved over last year, and the games are fun and challenging at the higher difficulty levels. I just wish that everything around the on-field action was overhauled. Ultimate Team needs to be revamped, and should look to Madden NFL Mobile for inspiration. The mini-games need to be reworked, if not totally removed. And, please build an interface that’s fast, easy to navigate, and gets you pumped to play some football.
