  • Summary: Myths of the Eastern Realm introduces a new open world, characters, and story inspired by Chinese mythology, and centering on a new hero named Ku.

Myths of the Eastern Realm doesn't tie into the core Fenyx campaign at all, but once you're done, you unlock all of Ku's equipment for use in the main game. A nice little bonus, considering how powerful some of Ku's weapons and armour sets are.

The formula remains strictly identical to that of the original game and while it is still very enjoyable, we probably would have liked an ounce of madness, a hint of additional risk-taking.

Myths of the Eastern Realm is so repetitive because it changes almost nothing about the repetitive game it was based upon aside from the setting. This expansion could have been a chance for Ubisoft to address criticisms of that core experience by implementing a more varied toolset, moving away from block pushing, and allowing for more freeform exploration all while taking fulling advantage of Chinese mythology. Instead it makes all the same mistakes, which are more unforgiving this time around. Immortals itself was already awash with unoriginal ideas and Myths of the Eastern Realm is only following that trend, making it a derivative expansion of an already-derivative game.

Wow and what happened here? The original game is just epic and then you play this. Its not bad, but its not good either. They take theWow and what happened here? The original game is just epic and then you play this. Its not bad, but its not good either. They take the original game and shrink it with a Eastern Realm paint. That's it, plain and simple. The story is flat and after 2 hrs you are actually bored because you "been there, done that" already. Don't get me worng, fun to play and nice to jump into a different realm, but there was so much more they could have done to make it really stand out. All I want is a Immortals Fenyx Rising 2 and I am done with the DLC's for this round. Expand
