    One of the most anticipated games of this generation. graphically excellent, the soundtrack impressive. Argumentally very similar to the first, however with a very interesting lore.

    I'm not a fan of the first part, but I still bought the second part on release. And you know, I can't tear myself away from it. In three days I played 16 hours. I am obsessed with pictures, music and gameplay. The story is intriguing and a pleasure to follow the characters.

    A great audiovisual and playable experience! Superior to Zero Dawn in all sections. Guerrilla has shown that it is in the first level along with Naughty Dog and Santa Monica.

    Incredible visuals, great gameplay and an interesting story with varied side missions and plenty of activities to keep you busy.
    It's a massive step up from the original Zero Dawn, which was already a great game.
    Guerilla are a fantastic team and this IP is going from strength to strength, I hope we see more of Aloy for years to come.
    10/10 if you own a PS5 this game is a must buy

    There is still amazing and gorgeous graphic presentation on ps5 though the game do not use real tracing lighting,Rich main storyline and side quest,decent and challenging operating system,This game is definitely worth every penny

    I thought the graphics of the first one still looked like a modern game. This game is on a whole other level. Great story, side missions, and a robust wild full of life.

    So far from the 20+ hours I've put into it, I feel many improvements of the game have taken place, map as big as ever, skull trees are incredibly deep and many options, story takes a while to pick up, but most games of this calibre do start off the same, it's a great build up for the things to come. No spoilers here, but I do believe they have very much improved and made the franchise better.

    One of the best open world game you can buy right now. 25h in two days and OMG, it is awesome. Amazing gameplay, next-gen graphics with 4K and 60fps, 3D Audio, Dualsense, the characters and the story is interesting and the sidequest are top. Also, the game is really polished I had zero bugs, don't believe the pileros.

    The art in this Game is remarkable, from graphics, to sound, to acting, history and gameplay, it's the perfect game for me, and the collector's edition is awesome despite not including the disc, it was worth every Penny.

    боевка, прокачка персонажа, анимации, звук, графика, все это оставляет исключительно общие положительные впечатления в совокупности.

    Лично я получил от игры даже немного больше того что ожидал, это идеальное продолжение первой части.
    Ну а тем кто ставит игре оценку ноль или единицу это какие то неадекваты, игра заслуживает 10 балов потому что была проделана колоссальная работа, и по каждому аспекту игра прибавила в разы! вообщем я крайне доволен игрой поэтому моя оценка 10 баллов, огромное спасибо Guerilla Games за ваш труд!    … Expand

    To start off I am a big fan of Zero Dawn, played it 3 times and have acquired 100% completion, it's a great game... with that Forbidden West is a DOWNGRADE from that experience.

    1. This game reeks of development scope creep, things are so much more over complicated then in Zero Dawn, they should keep K.I.S.S. acronym in mind when developing. 2. My favorite play style has been GUTTED!    To start off I am a big fan of Zero Dawn, played it 3 times and have acquired 100% completion, it's a great game... with that Forbidden West is a DOWNGRADE from that experience.

    2. My favorite play style has been GUTTED! There may be a "Infiltrator Skill Tree" but unless you plan to draw out fights for 5+ minutes, then direct combat is the only viable way to play now. Robots are afraid of tall grass, difficult to coax them in close enough even with stone throws, every bow ability breaks your cover, silent strike with fully upgraded spear abilities can't one shot trash mobs especially in later game (This is on normal remember). Stealth ability you unlock, even fully upgraded does not seem to work on Robots.

    Other game plays have been gutted as well, if you like traps then your in for a shock as well, the deployment limits are very low now, the days of placing a few bombs and a full set of Tripcaster traps are gone and over.

    3. Weapons are a joke compared to Zero Dawn, they added in some interesting new gear but the standard ones from Zero Dawn are a joke.. having weapons just for one ammo type and flooding the game with variations is abysmal, and with the new upgrade system just adds to the grind to find upgrade materials. If I was Aloy I would make a trip back home to pick up the trusted and true weapons from Zero Dawn before trekking into the west.

    4. The game is not balanced, playing on normal and robots HP and Attack feel like "The Frozen Wilds" DLC on Ultra-Hard.. getting one shot by a Fanghorn in the starting area should not happen on normal difficulty

    5. Inventory management has been taken out of the hands of the player. You can only carry 1 stack of any item the remainder magically gets transported to your stash (Talk about immersion breaking - Horizon meets Harry Potter). Typically this is not an issue but if you like a specific type of ammo you may run out of the crafting materials when out in the field. They should have kept the old inventory system and have Aloy travel to the rest areas (There are many on the map) to deposit extras you don't want to carry.

    6. way... way.. way too many variation add on patches for weapons and armor

    7. Aloy gaining advanced tech through skill tree. Aloy is a user not a developer, a scientist, or an engineer... any sci-fi like gear should be acquired through diving into ruins or pilfering from dead enemies (This does happen in the game, the only one I am ok with story wise)

    8. Valor system sucks, I don't mind that you need to built it up but the use of a skill that uses Valor should NOT be on a timer all the time. For example... Stealth field should be on a timer but you should have the ability to turn it off to save Valor, Shield should just give you a direct heath buff / shield, bow abilities that say "5 shots" should last the 5 shots. The fact that every Valor skill is on a timer means you are being rushed to get your value out of it, as mentioned seems they favor / push the player always into direct frontal combat.

    9. Some NPC audio has a metallic reverb in it as if they where not recorded in a proper sound studio, they should have redone those parts, being out in the open and the NPC sounding like their in a metal box is very apparent.

    Addition to reaching endgame / finally
    - Too many weapons again, and spend hours and days grinding for the upgrades
    - Colosseum combat is a mess, its just a brawl where Alloy spends most of her time face down in the dirt and stunned. Game auto chooses your equipment if you have multiple in your inventory, and the end fight of every category set gear is chosen, if you don't have a particular weapon then you simply loose a weapon slot and you are even more handicapped, also any upgrades you may have done to weapons or gear for those fights DO NOT count.
    - The melee completion fights start off as normal and progress to Ultra hard at the end, I like many others had to set difficulty to Easy just to pass them.
    - Story started off ok but then went sideways for me, did not like the Ted Faro plot and many other end game points.

    (For all this garbage I have reduced my rating from a 6 to a 4, I have learned to hate this game)

    New things I like

    1. As mentioned some new weapons like the Javelins are fun additions.

    2. New and interesting Robots, always a plus

    3. Underwater play now

    4. Visually stunning as always, climbing to the highest peak and viewing the landscape is breath taking.

    Closing
    I love the visuals of the game but I can't stop thinking "I wish this played like Zero Dawn" constantly, at times I feel like I am hate binging playing the game just for the story. GG has hinted at a 3rd game, they have burnt my faith away with this game and will not buy the next game with ought serious reviewing it first    … Expand

    I knew Horizon Forbidden West was gonna be a special game, but I didn’t expected to be this good. I think that the story is more interesting than Zero Dawn. I really like it. The environment is breath taking, I love exploring and getting lost in this huge world. The characters are realistic in their looks, voice and behavior. Gameplay and combat are really good. A lot improvements whereI knew Horizon Forbidden West was gonna be a special game, but I didn’t expected to be this good. I think that the story is more interesting than Zero Dawn. I really like it. The environment is breath taking, I love exploring and getting lost in this huge world. The characters are realistic in their looks, voice and behavior. Gameplay and combat are really good.     It's a slog of a game filled with icons and fetch quests. They make Ubisoft look good. It's that bad.

    Game mechanics are tedious and a total joke. Shooting arrows when the monsters move like lightning and stun you. This game forces you to play in this fashion: dodge-roll, shoot, dodge-roll. That's it. Stealth is worthless. If you don't like shooting tiny hit-boxes, well too bad. That's all you will be doing.

    Quests are derivative. Gameplay reminiscent of the 2000 era. Do yourself a favor and buy Elden Ring instead. This game is nothing but a quick cash-grab by a lazy developer who likes to borrow ideas from others, because there aren't creative to begin with.
    At least with the first game you kinda felt the effort. With this? It just wastes your time with a dull story, bad overall quest design, stupendous Ai where robots stand still while you fire arrows in their skulls, dozens of bugs & glitches, horrible and confusing UI, lackluster melee combat and multiple crashes all for $70. It's not worth the disc it's printed on.    … Expand

    Just played for a couple of hours, but this is shaping up to be a great experience. Horizon Zero Dawn bigger, cooler and greater. Also, visuals are amazing, and haptic feedback is a nice plus. A solid contender for game of the year.

    Played all night! It is better than Horizon 1 in every way. Incredible achievement from Guerilla. Some reviewers were extremely harsh because it's a Sony exclusive (as usual) but don't be fooled. They are at the top of the industry for a reason!!! No one else makes games like this!

The game is a direct sequel so definitely check out the original first but HFW is a must play for every PS owner.    … Expand

    It does take a while getting into movement and climbing (It's not free climb like other games) but that's the only down side I have. Incredible game, really blowing me away at the moment. Stunning graphics, great story, fighting incredible, machines awesome! With a few bugs fixed Id give it a 10, 9 for now.

    HZFW is a graphical masterpiece...the amount of detail in every part of the game is astounding. Ray tracing, the marks in the sand you make and the difference in lighting when the sun reflects of the wet sand, sweat drops when it's hot, frozen armour when it's cold, grass moving around your feet when you move...just a glimpse of the vast detail and love that has gone into this game. Not to mention the insane quality of the textures and assets + insane loading speeds.

    Story is indeed long but it's a journey...if you don't have the patience just move on to something else. I enjoy the character development and the relationships and also by doing side quests you can influence the dialogue in the main story line which is cool.

    Combat as well is very good, a bit harder than the first iteration which is a good thing but there are a lot of quality of life improvements that just make sense.

    Combined with the adaptive triggers and sound design, this is by far one of the most visually stunning, complete and well built games of our time. Only game that could beat it is God of War.

    After playing Elden Ring - i can't even stand more than 1 hour of this woke p.o.s. western game, it's a handheld journey of boredom/combat sucks exploration is blah. UI is a cluttered mess, map is filled up like a Ubisoft game full of filler. (@@##@ western game devs are so untalented!!!!!

    First games was awesome this is a mess. Mission dont work some times so you need to reload saves and hope they fix this game soon. I wait then I play it. I played the 5 hour trial on PS plus.

    My only criticism of this game is I do wish they figured out a lock on system for combat so that the dodging would be better but it is not a deal breaker or anything.

    The story is so good and builds upon the world that was set up in the first game. The world-building is so amazing and feels fleshed out. The cast is amazing plus the writing and voice acting for almost every character is so well done. The open world is so much beautiful and looks absolutely amazing.     There are bugs and glitches that can ruin immersion. The stealth is very bland. Progression begins losing steam around the 15-20 hour mark.

    Thoughts-
    A game needs to be truly special for it to be able to make issues such as these seem insignificant, or at least forgivable, in the grand scheme of things. Thankfully, Horizon Forbidden West is that special. It is an impressive achievement that improves upon its predecessor in almost all the ways that it should have, and brings together all of its strengths in a sweeping, memorable adventure.    … Expand

    Definitely hands down nicest looking game I've seen and played. Story is a little bland but really picks up in the middle **** goes down! The skill trees are revamped and better than ever. So much to do in this bug world 50+ hours of content. Highly recommend!

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
