    Mixed feelings, so an 8 makes sense. Why?
    + Love the concept of post-apocalypse with new killer robots, a lot of recognisable landscapes and objects (without spoilers)
    + I think the size of the map is ideal for me, easy to do on foot and explore every little rock if you want to + Dual sense + sounds are really nice to immersive you even more + I actually enjoy the mini board game a    Mixed feelings, so an 8 makes sense. Why?
    + Love the concept of post-apocalypse with new killer robots, a lot of recognisable landscapes and objects (without spoilers)
    + I think the size of the map is ideal for me, easy to do on foot and explore every little rock if you want to
    + Dual sense + sounds are really nice to immersive you even more
    + I actually enjoy the mini board game a lot! Wish they made collecting the pieces more like Gwent though ... I still win all games with my first set.
    + Facial expressions are on a new level! This should be the next standard.
    + Same for load times. I catch myself waiting, will I can just press 'X' already!

    The negatives:
    - Texture drop on performance mode (happens quite frequent)
    - They tried hard, but it doesn't feel like a new game. It feels more like an expansion (which is nonetheless very enjoyable though)
    - Disappointed by the predictability of the storyline + even though I spend a lot of time exploring and side-quests, I was already at level 25 to (again without spoilers) ... let's say start operating from your base ... which made the game feel unbalanced    … Expand

    It's so bad. Graphics are great but a game is more than graphics. Graphics are way down the priority list of what makes a good game.

    And this game is all graphics. The gameplay is braindead, increasing the difficulty only makes it more tedious (higher numbers), it's still braindead though.

    If you want a long movie that makes you do chores, a walking simulator that looks pretty, get this.

    A fabulous sequel that is well worth picking up.

    I absolutely fell in love with Horizon Zero Dawn when it first came out. The concept and storyline were on point and the whole premise felt unique. Forbidden West builds on the first game in so many ways. First, let's talk about the mocap. Clearly Guerrilla Games have been really hard at work in this area and it pays off. It is    A fabulous sequel that is well worth picking up.

    I absolutely fell in love with Horizon Zero Dawn when it first came out. The concept and storyline were on point and the whole premise felt unique. Forbidden West builds on the first game in so many ways.

    First, let's talk about the mocap. Clearly Guerrilla Games have been really hard at work in this area and it pays off. It is fantastic. Casting my mind back to the first game, the poor lip synching for the characters broke the immersion. It was hard to ignore. In Forbidden West, it is a joy! Particularly as you interact with so many NPCs, the mocap really stands out. Big plus.

    Second, the skill tree. Forbidden West expands on the skills you could acquire in the first game by ALOT. There are so many things to learn and uncover - new abilities, new special abilities. Some games with large skill trees can be daunting and a bit overwhelming, but Horizon balances it very nicely. There are plenty of opportunities scattered across the open world to acquire new skill points. By the way, loving the new weapon special abilities!

    Finally, the graphics and general gameplay. To note, I am playing on resolution mode. It is lovely, and the graphics are excellent. But, there are a few instances of pop-in. It's nothing major, but it is obvious. The gameplay is everything you came to love from the first game, though I still find the weapon selection a little bit jarring. I wish there was a way I could select all my weapons - particularly as they have introduced new weapon classes. Sliding around, slow-mo action are all great. It is not entirely fluid though and I would have rated this game higher if it could reach 60 fps without sacrificing graphical fidelity. (performance mode was just a bit too blurry for my liking),

    Nevertheless, this is a very solid game. And in all honesty, it is good to see a high quality game released that isn't plagued by poor, lack of or unfinished content which has been very common in recent releases.

    Recommendation is to buy! It is a great game and takes out the annoyances that are typically associated with open-world games. Oh by the way, if your backpack gets full, it will send items to your storage! Hurraay no more mindlessly running back and forth to pick up items you had no space for.    … Expand

    I'll tell you this, I played part 1 of this game, but it had a lot of problems, but I liked the game. Part 2 is coming out and I believed in it very much and this faith was not in vain. Almost all if not all the problems of part 1 were fixed in the game, Gorgeous graphics, Improved combat and more. Here comes February 18. The time passes when you can rate the game. You are serious. SoI'll tell you this, I played part 1 of this game, but it had a lot of problems, but I liked the game. Part 2 is coming out and I believed in it very much and this faith was not in vain.     I was already raging at a 88 /100 cause this game deserve the goty.. Its a masterpiece.. And now the user score is 7~8 its unacceptable.. **** xbox fanboys and haters they are hating and rating 0s for no reason at all every comment is unbelievably stupid and have no meaning

    Despite of being a crossgen game, Guerrilla has somehow made it look better than most next gen only games.
    Im loving it so far the story feels very engaging, and ofc Dualsense support here is just phenomenal.
    Its a must have from me, money well spent.

    Esse jogo é excelente uma clara e notável evolução referente ao primeiro jogo, joguei no PS5 em modo performance e tá lindo.
    Até as missões secundárias os npcs dessas missões secundárias são incríveis, é um mundo perfeito onde tudo foi muito bem polido e se encaixa perfeitamente com o universo do jogo, a história tem um ritmo ótimo.

    A perfect sequel. Period. The story is engaging from the start, takes a while to develop, but that’s not a drawback. The side activities have been improved drastically. I’ve spent 7 hours on the starting location before moving on with the main story because all the bandit camps and side quests are parts of different storylines with either new well-made characters/settlements, or developA perfect sequel. The gameplay is basically the same, but with major improvements in progression, combat mechanics, additional skills etc. Quality of life improvements are present and make the game overall better. The graphics is amazing. The game looks incredible in both modes (60 fps and 4K), I just love it. The environments and settlements are way more detailed and lifelike. Overall - a great game, a perfect sequel. Basically the same base with a ton of improvements. If you liked the first game - you’ll love this one. If you didn’t - you won’t like this one.     O Game está incrível, tanto no PS4 quanto no PS5 e espero que futuramemte chegue no PC também. Graficamente lindo, jogabilidade ótima, raríssimos delay de render e até o momento nenhum bug. Espero muito que tenha mais games com essa qualidade em todas as plataformas!!

    Me gusto mucho el juego, el combate mejoro bastante con respecto a la version anterior, la historia sin duda es lo mejor del juego, el clima y las particulas lucen genial.
    cosas que me pasaron fue un poco de popping al inciar la primer cinematica donde te muestra el nombre de em titulo, bugs no he tenido de momento, no me agrdo mucho el tener que marcar los puntos donde puedes escalar, la    Me gusto mucho el juego, el combate mejoro bastante con respecto a la version anterior, la historia sin duda es lo mejor del juego, el clima y las particulas lucen genial.

    HFB to kontynuacja idealna. Kazdy jeden, najmniejszy fragment gry zostal poprawiony. Walka, perki, mimika postaci, cut scenki, fabula, konstrukcja zadan, nowe aktywnosci i wiele, wiele innych. Grafika juz teraz wyrywa z kapci i wypala HDR w telewizorze, az strach pomyslec co bedzie jak studia Sony zaczna robic gry dedykowane tylko PS5. Absolutny must have i mocny kandydat do GOTY.

    I'm amazed by this game. Guerrilla managed to put soul into this open world. This is not your average Ubisoft copy-paste game. This has soul and a lot of effort put in its setting. You feel like playing an awesome adventure.

    FBW is the pinnacle of gaming atm. Very addicting and beatiful game. I love Aloy shes probably the best game character you play in single player game. I would hear every dialogue from her, i just love her personality and how she interact with others. Nothing edgy or annoying about her.     An amazingly fun, well polished, and beautiful game. Aloy is a fantastic protagonist and the twists and turns had me hooked. There are so many new, cool robot creatures to fight and control. Pick it up. It's worth the money.

    It's beautiful, screems quality every part of the way. Corrected every issue of the first game. Presents a beautiful story. First game with really meaningful and we'll done side contact since the Witcher 3. Have taken hints on how to do little things right from many other successful games of recent memory. An absolute must play.

    I bought the game the day it came out. After platinizing the first horizon. I am impressed how everything has improved, especially in the PS5 version, which is the one I am enjoying.

    Everything has gone to a higher level, the modeling of the characters, the weather, the spectacular nature of the settings and the machines. The graphic jump is evident especially on PS5. Gameplay wise the    I bought the game the day it came out. After platinizing the first horizon. I am impressed how everything has improved, especially in the PS5 version, which is the one I am enjoying.

So much to explore, cool sidequests, the fight system is awesome and so much fun! Graphic is stunning, dialog scenes are made with quality, synchro is perfect and Aloy looks amazing!     Отличный сиквел, геймлпей ровный, сюжет как сюжет (пока не прошел до конца, мб там будет какоу-то откровение) есть баги, просадки фпс, режим разрешения вообще позорный, там 20 фпс с дропами до 5ти, на режиме 60фпс, есть моменты где оно падает до 5 фпс, помогает загрузка сохранения. Нынче стало можно выпускать сырые продукты и отбиваться предзаказами, это печально, ведь обычно у СониОтличный сиквел, геймлпей ровный, сюжет как сюжет (пока не прошел до конца, мб там будет какоу-то откровение) есть баги, просадки фпс, режим разрешения вообще позорный, там 20 фпс с дропами до 5ти, на режиме 60фпс, есть моменты где оно падает до 5 фпс, помогает загрузка сохранения.     Amazing game . Def better and more too do than the 1st one. Amazing graphics, story ,characters and machines. Only have 1 downside to this game was . So many weapons. Way too many types of bows and tripcasters and other types of weapons that did different things or same things with same ammo ... but 1 did more crit and other did more tear. They didnt need that.

    What a game! Where do I start. Well, that would obviously be the visuals. Far and away the best I've ever seen on any console. The detail and world density is unmatched. Soundtrack is incredible. Story and lore are deep and complex. Every little item has a long and detailed description. Every character has a deep bio. The bestiary is immense.
    Dialogue and voice acting is a step up from the    What a game! Where do I start. Well, that would obviously be the visuals. Far and away the best I've ever seen on any console.     So I'm almost 20 hours in, and hugely impressed with the strides Guerilla has made since Zero Dawn. There is a confidence in execution here that makes the setting leap off the screen. From a presentation standpoint, this game is exceptional. It's absolutely stunning at every turn, with its saturated and vibrant colour palette giving it an edge over games that aim for a grittier realism.So I'm almost 20 hours in, and hugely impressed with the strides Guerilla has made since Zero Dawn.     The narrative is similarly excellent thusfar, expecting the player to have a high degree of familiarity with the first games lore. I personally hate when a text over explains, in an effort to on board people with no idea of the previous instalments. Fan theories have also been incorporated, with the games spectacular machines now being categorised according to a prominent bit of fan speculation. The level of polish alone makes this very reccomendable, but with a buffet of fleshed out and worthwhile side content rivalling the Witcher 3, meaty combat and scavenging and an enigmatic story make this one for everybody to at least try.    … Expand

    Another plus is the upgrade armor/weapon system and skill tree which let's you decide the way you want to play melee, range, stealth etc. etc. The only negative thing I found was a small amount of glitches and bugs but no game-brakers The biggest downside it's because the game is a continuation of the previous Horizon zero dawn you must play the first one to understand what the story is all about plus who are the main/side characters and how you know them though the story.

I'm not a fan on how Rotten Tomato does their verification process when it comes to movies but I think linking your Sony Sign-in should be a must for gamers. Während der Kampagne und besonders zu beginn dieser, fühlte ich mich stark an Navi aus Ocarina of Time erinnert, denn Aloy hört nicht auf, dem Spieler das offensichtliche am laufenden Band vorzukauen. Besonders in den ersten paar Stunden des Spiels hört man "Ich könnte hier meinen FokusHorizon Forbidden West ist ein gutes Spiel, solange man eine Gewisse "Nervtoleranz" an den Tag legt. Besonders am Anfang ist Aloy nervig, hauptsächlich wegen ihrer "Ich muss das alles allein machen" Einstellung. Diese Stellen im Spiel machen Aloy für mich ziemlich unsympathisch, allerdings ändert sich diese Sichtweise im Spielverlauf, zum Glück. Konkrete Bugs, die ich auf Social Media vermehrt sehe, sind mir im Spiel nicht begegnet. Vom Pop-in war ich gänzlich verschont. Lediglich der Loot wurde mir teilweise in Steinen oder anderen unerreichbaren Orten angezeigt. Da es aber generell mehr als genug Loot im Spiel gibt, ist das weniger ein Problem, als das leider weniger guten Weltdesign an gewissen Stellen.
    Ich bin häufig auf Orte getroffen, in denen unsichtbare Wände an der Tagesordnung stehen. So gibt es zum Beispiel in der Nähe zweier Hauptmissionen Gebäude, deren Fenster mehr als groß genug sein sollten, um geradewegs durchzuspringen. Das man dann aber nicht dort durchhüpfen kann, obwohl das Fenster doppelt so groß ist wie Aloy, bricht die Immersion und sorgt darüber hinaus auch noch für unnötige Laufwege. Auch das Kampfsystem bleibt nicht ganz verschont. Präzise Schüsse durch Lücken in der gegnerischen Verteidigung sind leider selten Möglich, da sich der Bogen furchtbar ungenau anfühlt und die Pfeile selbst ohne Hilfseinstellungen Magnetisch zu sein scheinen.

    Auch das Klettern ist leider nur als zweckdienlich zu bezeichnen. Zugegeben, hier bin ich voreingenommen, da ich direkt davor noch Dying Light 2 gespielt habe, das klettern fühlt sich aber einfach furchtbar sperrig und langsam an. Es funktioniert zwar, Aloy fühlt sich aber sehr unbeholfen und "Clunky" an.

    Ich habe das gesamte Spiel im Performance Modus durchgespielt, da mir die 30 FPS mittlerweile wie eine etwas schnellere Diashow vorkommen. Im Performance Modus ist mir allerdings aufgefallen, dass gewisse Cutscenes scheinbar mit einer Auflösung unter 1080p gerendert werden, was natürlich durch den Detailreichtum der Welt nochmal schlechter aussieht. Während dem tatsächlichen Gameplay allerdings, schienen Auflösung und Bildrate sehr stabil zu sein.

    Das Gameplay an sich ist trotz der ganzen Negativpunkte sehr solide und macht an sich auch recht lange spaß. Persönlich könnte ich mir nicht vorstellen, 100 Stunden in das Spiel zu stecken, ich sehe aber das Potential, welches es für viele Spieler hat. von einem optischen Standpunkt aus, weiß das Spiel durchaus zu beeindrucken. Man wird regelmäßig vor wirklich tolle Kulissen gestellt, die besonders bei richtigen Beleuchtung (für meinen Geschmack ist es meist in einer klaren Nacht) super aussehen. Die Story dürfte besonders für Sci-Fi Freunde interessant sein, allerdings will ich hier nicht Spoilern. Wer hier allerdings ein Storytelling ala Mass Effect erwartet, wird sicherlich enttäuscht.

    Aber nun zur Wertung.
    Ich würde dem Spiel gerne eine 9 geben und ich sehe auch das Potential dafür, allerdings müssten meiner Meinung nach einige Dinge angepasst werden. Zu einen, müsste es eine Option geben, dass Aloy einfach mal ruhig ist und nicht versucht mir alles zu erklären. Ich weiß, dass das Spiel ab 12 und somit auch für Kinder geeignet ist, allerdings ist das einfach übertrieben. "Wenn ich einen Stein da hin werfe und mich von hinten anschleiche, kann ich die Maschine unbemerkt erledigen". Ach was, wäre ich jetzt nicht drauf gekommen.
    Zum anderen sollten Spielmechaniken wie das Klettern offener und entschlackter sein.
    Ich verstehe auch nicht, wieso ich Dialogoptionen nach Stimmung habe, wenn diese keinen wirklichen Unterschied machen. So ist es an einigen Stellen im Spiel möglich, Logisch, Emotional oder Bestimmt zu antworten. Da es aber nur ein Ende und keine wirkliche Gefährtenmechanik gibt, erscheint mir das sehr unnötig.

    Wer also Lust auf eine optisch anregende Open World mit Robo-Dinos und einer Sci-Fi Story hat und sich nicht von den oben genannten Punkten abschrecken lässt, kann also guten Gewissens zugreifen. Wer allerdings Wert auf Immersion legt, sollte sich das ganze nochmal überlegen und vielleicht ein paar Updates abwarten.    … Expand

    The details in this game is out of the world. Side missions are great as Witcher 3 and soundtrack is so awesome. Graphics are one of the best I have ever seen. Congratulations to Guriella games for this awesome game. Thank you playstation

The amount of activities, storage options, combat combinations, and traversal variation elevates it to new heights. There is a ton of density/ verticality in environments and towns. Acting and animations are about as good as they come.... plus, the new minigame is epic and addictive. The story starts slow on purpose and it serves the game's purpose well. Missing this is mossing a gem. I would normally give a 9, but with all the bonehead review bombers on here who are basically just immature, I've gotta compensate.     i can't understand why people give this game a low score, i can't stop playing the game and even if not all of the mechanics are the best I've seen, as a total package this is for me a masterpiece. In my opinion people are spoiled with all that we have. I come from a time when games where one screen and we loved it. If my younger self would see this i would be mind-blown.

    And in Resolution mode, the game is like 22fps.., chopy and blurry!!!... I love this game so much, but i can not score it higher because of the graphics!!!

    Disclaimer, I am a completionist, only about 20% done with the game. Beginning with the graphics ... wow, this is the best-looking game I have seen next to Cyberpunk on an RTX 3080. The character models are superb, the environmental design is absolutely gorgeous, and the art direction is occasionally a bit oversaturated, but mostly breathtaking. That being said, I have seen a pop-in bugDisclaimer, I am a completionist, only about 20% done with the game. Beginning with the graphics ... wow, this is the best-looking game I have seen next to Cyberpunk on an RTX 3080. The character models are superb, the environmental design is absolutely gorgeous, and the art direction is occasionally a bit oversaturated, but mostly breathtaking. That being said, I have seen a pop-in bug (I spoke with a merchant's floating head for a time before the rest of his body joined in), but this was the first bug I experienced in about 15 hours of play. Forgivable considering how much this game has pushed the envelope. I definitely recommend the performance mode; 60 fps should be the standard in a game like this. Consequentially, you will get somewhat of a grainy look due to checkerboard rendering, which is again fine considering the quality of visuals on display. The PS5 cannot run this at a full 4K 60fps.

    The new element this game brings to the table which I haven't seen done to the same extent on any game to date is the acting conveyed with gestures, eye movements, and body language. Horizon sets the new bar for gestured interactions and its effect on story telling cannot be understated. Its set pieces play more like a well-directed movie than a video game. The story thus far also seems to be superb. Internally, this game focuses on Aloy's self-and-life-inflicted title to be a savior of the world and how growing up as an outcast with a real knowledge of what their world is automatically distances her from everyone. Externally, you see her and old friends interact as warring factions, including some from very advanced civilizations, fight for their reasons, while Aloy fights for the planet. The story telling is excellent and they do a superb job of having emotional set-pieces, making new worlds and encounters have completely different emotional notes, again more like a well-directed movie than a video game. The side quests are about the closest thing I have seen to Witcher level story telling; they take time to develop, have wonderful dialog and voice acting, and are interesting from a gameplay perspective.

    In regard to the gameplay, it mostly recycles the familiar formula from Horizon: skilled third person-based mini-boss encounters. You pick from Aloy's assortment of bows and land skilled shots while dodging some of the best enemy AI I have encountered. I would say the combat is somewhere between the realms of Monster Hunter World and Destiny. It is, in my opinion, the best combat system I have experienced in an open world game.    … Expand

Onto one of my favourite parts - the voice acting and character movements. In conversation it makes you feel enveloped in the universe through genuinely enjoyable character interactions, great voice acting and realistic character movements during conversation. The Forbidden West location itself is very rich with the locations containing tribes now feeling enjoyable to wander around find quests and even play a game of "Machine Strike". This is something I found lacking from the first game and I'm very glad they got it right this time around.

    All in all 10/10 combat, 10/10 story (so far), 10/10 voice acting and 10/10 world building    … Expand

    Stunning !!! I am surprised about how much settings are in the game to balance the play style of the player. Each character is very unique. And thet added new more machines. I haven't gone far but so far is a plus to the collection. Everyone need to experience Forbidden West.

I haven't experienced any noticeable bugs and the combat, visuals, and story are all excellent so far. I don't understand why there are so many 0's in the user reviews. It's kind of suspicious. They have refined every aspect of the game compared to the first game. The story, lore, open world, combat and general game mechanics are far better than the original games making this one of the best if not the best open world games I have ever played (right up there with the Witcher 3). The attention to detail is amazing. For example, Aloy and the NPCs even sweat if they are in the desert during the day and not just in cut scenes but throughout the course of general gameplay as well. Unlike most modern open world games the game is, with a few exceptions, full of unique and original side quests that really help to keep you engaged and immersed in its world. The combat and crafting mechanics and scope are also much improved. The voice acting and facial animations are significantly better bringing it up to par with the best of it genre. I played it on the PS5 so I had access to the new dualsense features which in Horizon forbidden west are one of the best of any PS5 games so far. It also visually stunning on the PS5. Finally the games settings menu is extensive and to the point where, with the exception of the visual setting portion of the settings menu, I would say it is comparable to that of a PC game. It gives you a lot of control and allows you to adjust the game to your liking. It also has a nice option that allows you to set a custom difficulty where you can choose to individually adjust various aspects of the gameplay independently of one another. So for example if you want to make Aloy take significantly more damage from an enemy hit but would rather that her damage output remains closer to the default you can set her damage delt to normal and enemy damage to very hard. I would strongly recommend people play this game.… Expand

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
