    The game took a step forward in many ways for HZD. But the story isn't engaging, in my opinion. The customization is excellent, but I wouldn't recommend people play this game. It just lacks overall story engagement and personal investment that HZD mastered.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like to start with the negatives first:

    Cons:
    Alright, i'm ready for the pitchforks to come in. I want to start by saying that I absolutely love this game so far, i'd say i'm about halfway through it. That being said, I do have a number of problems with it.

    First off, something that can probably be fixed with a patch, is that when trying to enter one of the melee pits in a major city, the screen goes black and you have to exit out of the game a re-load it. Even then, theres no way to complete it as of right now which means the platinum trophy at least for me, is unobtainable.

    Secondly, another thing that could improve with patches, is that there have been several instances where I have gotten "stuck" in the ground. Twice its happened while fast traveling, another time I was under water and I warped half into the ground, half out and almost died. Had to use a fast travel scroll and run all the way back to where I was. There are a couple more too that I cant recall exactly, again, ill remove this once the patches start rolling.

    Lastly and the thing that led to my score out of 10, is the difficulty scaling. Like I said, I would assume im about halfway through the game at level 25 as of writing this review, and playing on the "Normal" difficulty setting. I would say that I am one to love a good challenge. I really like playing the Soulsborne series which is known for their difficulty, and ive finished almost all of them, but rarely in those games do I ever feel that things arent fair. In this game however, I get that quite often. Enemies adjust jumps mid way through the attack, most enemies have some kind of sweeping attack that is unavoidable unless you are a good distance away from them, most enemies have some kind of ranged attack that blankets an area, etc. Which brings me to the poor excuse for a dodge roll. In Horizon ZD, there was a set of skills that could improve your survivability by doing longer dodge rolls, and other things that made it seem like Aloy was a skilled badass hunter at the top of the food chain. In this game, it feels like youre the slowest, least nimble thing in the wild, and theres nothing you can do to improve it, not even a block mechanic. All of this normally wouldnt be too big of an issue, however it becomes an issue in an open world game that is supposed to be about exploration, questing, discovering new things. I had about 15 minutes to play this morning before work and I came across several groups of roaming apex machines. Not even close to being properly equipped to handle them. Maybe i'm doing something wrong? I have no clue. Like I said though, im no stranger to difficult games.

    Pros:

    The game is absolutely beautiful on PS5. Im a bit of a fps snob but I cant pull myself to go out of resolution mode because of how amazing it looks. Melee combat is much improved and exciting compared to the last installment, and the PUZZLES!! I love the relic ruins and pretty much anything to do with platforming. I will give a tip though. I went into custom HUD settings and turned on "Interactive Object Display" to "Always on." That was I dont have to keep mashing R3 to find things in the world like machine drops and loot chests. Makes the QOL sooo much better and smooth.    … Expand

    This is basically the same thing as the first game, repetitive combat, low quality side quests, underwater combat was a lie, characters with bad design, armor with outdated artistic concept, characters with bad narrative. This game is just a bad copy of Monster Hunter.

Been a big fan of zero dawn, forbidden west is just what u expect a sequel to be. Nothing ground breaking here, but in this day and age of half baked mess being shoved down our throat for whooping 70$, this one faresI don't usually rate games here. I have seen complaints about there's too many options and skills trees and I think that is a very silly thing to be critical of. The point of so many options is to let people play how they want to play. You don't HAVE to do everything. Pick the play style that is most fun and excel in that way and don't worry about all the options. Simple as. I really hope the developers don't listen to dumb criticisms like that and understand the vast majority of people absolutely love this game.     Amazing game, beautiful graphics in resolution mode, it is in all ways better and improve then zero dawn. One negative - performance mode = resolution is pretty low, ist checkboard to 1800p but probably from 900p, its not Sharp, actually it looks worst than zero dawn on ps5 (60fps 4k dynamic)

    The best example for a PERFECT sequel in almost every way.
    Horizon Forbidden West hands down has some of the best graphics in any open world game to date, it's seriously up there with RDR2. Also, it literally has the best character models in any open world game I feel like I'm playing a Naughty Dog game.

    I would give Horizon Forbidden West a 9 as it improves on the old game in many ways some of which are, improvements to melee combat, better facial capture, more to explore and more memorable characters along with an amazing story. Although I think the game is great I think this could be built on more in a possible sequel (not the vr game).

    I found the game very uninspiring, repetitive and hence boring. The characters are as dull as the gameplay. What happened to games like Bioshock. Sad times indeed and I can't believe I wasted my money on this trash

    I've been playing for about 15 hours so far and while I am enjoying the game I have to say it's a bit underwhelming at times. The controls often feel really clunky and could do with an overhaul and some of the enemies are absolute damage sponges. I'm okay with bigger enemies needing a lot to bring them down but even a lot of trash enemies take a frustrating amount of arrows to take downI've been playing for about 15 hours so far and while I am enjoying the game I have to say it's a bit underwhelming at times.     Horizon Forbiden West trouxe de volta um dos mundos mais incrível já mostrado em games, com gameplay e história de perder o folego e de quebra o melhor grafico da geração até o momento.

La historia te engancha rápidamente, esperando a ver que pasara en la siguiente misión.     20 hours in and loving every second, the world is bigger better and more stuff than ever, every aspect of the game from skill trees, combat and weapons has been improved, the story is great so far lots of interesting twit and turns and can't wait to see where it leads.

    I'm not sure why this game is getting bombed. Kinda confusing. It's not a 10, but this is a marked improvement on an already great game/concept. If you even remotely liked the 1st one, you'll fall in love with this one, especially on PS5.

    I love the gameplay and fluidity when fighting humans and machines alike. The story has kept me intrigued and wanting more, along with the side quests which i constantly find myself prioritising as i don’t want to miss out on them.     Absolutely incredible game, so much to see and do still even after 25 hours into the game. Another PlayStation studio flexing there talent. Story is great but it’s the world they have build that really stands out. A must buy.

    The definitive open world game, don't waste your time reading the review bombers, this game is great and you should try it.

    Graphics are something stunning, maybe the best looking open world to date but graphics aren't everything, the best thing about this game is the art design, the world and the exquisite gameplay mechanics.

    Guerrilla made a great job there.

    Horizon Forbidden West is a great sequel. I liked Zero Dawn a lot. Guerrilla Games did a lot to improve an already great open world game. I probably would give it a 9/10. I will support this game and franchise because I am sure it will be review bombed by Xbots and Trolls.

As missões estão mais elaboradas e os atores/dublagem estão excelentes. Até o momento (20h de jogo) não observei quaisquer problemas.

Once you get pass the very first section of the game all the changes become very clear. The game is beautiful like everyone mentions but its actually the tweaks, new customizations, skill trees and interactions with NPC's that do it for me - all of these have been massively improved from the first game.

    Side quests dont feel like a chore at all and are very interesting/engaging, everyone that Aloy speaks to actually feels like shes speaking to them - no jerky head movements or eye pupils zigzagging everywhere, it looks natural now. Swimming feels fantastic and adds a lot more exploration, not to mention the scale of this game is massive btw, bigger than Zero Dawn.

    How you approach the gameplay is also completely up to you - You wanna be a stealthy assassin? ✅

    You wanna chug potions like a Witcher and withstand a beating from machines? ✅

    You wanna focus melee combat and become a spinning beyblade? ✅

    You wanna be a trapmaster and have a more strategic approach? ✅

    You wanna sit back and watch your machines cause havoc? ✅

    You wanna be a Legolas 2.0 and stack bodies with your bow? ✅

    Or become a jack of all trades, master of none.

    There will always be people that moan saying some assets are recycled from Zero Dawn - but what do you expect? Its a direct sequel! Of course some things will seem similar. If im being honest, it seems a lot harder these days to satisfy peoples needs in games - if its not Apex, COD or Fortnite they just arent interested and are quick to bash a game.

    I will adjust this review the further I get into it but for anyone contemplating buying this game - do it! so far its incredible. I play this on a PS5 and it runs super smooth with almost instant load times. Beautiful and diversified biomes peppered with great content that keep you playing for hours.     Okay here's what i got from this game after playing 15 hours - Bad writing, ugly looking characters, extremely boring story, mediocre open world, bugs and glitches, 2 crashes. Not recommending!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. -Unoriginal story premise nothing the industry hasn't seen before and brings nothing of context to the table of story telling.
    -Core gameplay loop is repetitive and doesn't change much at all through out the course of the game, you'll get very bored of playing from a gameplay standpoint and drop the game unless the toddler tier story isn't enough to reel you in.
    -Graphics are very lacking, Alloy looks worse than ever, environments look bland, grey, unnatural etc.
    -No replayability, no incentive, something that should be an industry standard at this point.

    I really genuinely wanted this to be something so much more greater but the team behind HFW really let us down, greatness still waits, it just wasn't this game that was going to give it to us fellas.    … Expand

    imagine being so delusional, that you start calling everyone a "troll" or "review bomber" who doesn't like same outdated boring games, that you like. This game's dialogue isn't even 2018 level. This might pass as a early 2010 game. Visuals can't save bad story.

    What a gem!

    Just imagine Horizon: Zero Dawn, but improved in about every single way. Better weapons, way better inventory, voice acting, story, just better overall.

    Only downsides in my opinion :

    The sound the focus makes Too many machines can shoot The PS5 version is gorgeous, the quick load and fast travel is anywhere between 1 and 6 seconds. Highly recommend this

    Sadly there is alot of ppl ( i think xbox fanboys) that gave it low score. Just ignore their score. Play it and have fun.

    They got the feedback from first game about the interface and implemented it, what made what was good a great thing!. The haptic feedback from control is totally amazing! Graphics are amazing. History is still as good as the first!

    Beautifully game but combat seems clunky and repetitive, open world is beautiful but dead in activities. Climbing system is horrendous and not fluid. Story is better than the first game

    It’s a very overrated game in my opinion I’m playing it just to play something on ps5 and was hoping it was better then first game but honestly I feel like I wasted money. Also it’s very buggy and frame drop issue makes this game feel unplayable. Media seems to ignore issues.

    World is vibrant and fun to explore. The machine difficulty has been ramped up with a lot more machines to battle as well. Story is engaging, and the side quests are actually fun and rewarding compared to HZD. Character dialogue is vastly improved.

    Great, fabulous game. This game is an evolution of what was in the first part of the Zero Dawn game, with more elaborate quests, staged cutscenes and melee combat.

    As most critics have said. This game is a major step up in everyway compared to the first game. I love the direction the story took. I haven't ran into any issues on resolution mode on ps5. Didn't try performance like some have called out having issues so I can't comment. Love this game.

    Gaming is literally dying thanks to these empty mediocre open world games, that have stereotypical cringe dialogue and big bad robot for final boss and then you get endless cutscenes. "we will fight back", "we will rebuild the world" and so on. All these overused, cheesy, uninspired lines are in this game.

    It takes what the original did right, and improves everything.
    Time just passes by while playing.
    The immersion level is too damn high!
    It allows for many playing styles and paces. Truly a gem.

I'm barely 20 hours in and iv not even scratched the surface when it comes to finishing the game. There is so much content I'm still only past the tutorial section, you can tell they put alot of effort into releasing a AAA game.     Best game ever! This is how you make a perfect game. Played over 20h now without any issue. This is for sure will be TOTY game of 2022. And those who give it a 0 just please get a life. Those people don't seem to have played the game yet.

Good story but not epic with not many epic twists but a few nice surprises and makes you wonder what 3rd game will build on them.     The gameplay and story and character development is impressive. However, the dualsense functions and its hyper-realistic graphics make this Horizon installment unforgettable and unique. worth a try whether you played the first one or are new to the world.

    30 hours in and loving it, improves on the first game, big open world, great graphics and gameplay, new machines, weapons, gadgets, good story, has a few minor bugs but nothing I'd complain about, doesn't disappoint, tactical choices on which weapons to use against which enemy and lots more

    Performance mode has huge graphical issues.
    Every particle or other fine detail especially in vegetation is flickering and shimmering like nothing else i've ever see on ps5. Bad upscaling, checkerboarding or anti-aliasing I suggest. The 60 fps mode is stable but on what cost? I would be happy to play the ps4 pro version of the game    Unplayable cause of the horrific performance mode.

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
