    Update: While its still rough around the edges, Hell Let Loose has very dedicated developers who are still updating the game for free. Since launch there were many improvements like a new fraction (Russia), new maps, weapons, lots and lots of bug fixes and performance updates etc etc.

    Dont expect a shooter. Kills and deaths arent important. Certainly not for everyone. If you played Cod Vanguard and thought its a **** representation of WW2 ...HLL probably still isnt for you because you had fun with Cod gameplay.

    The large scale 50:50 battles are amazing, the maps are insanely huge, the sound design is great, and the game runs at native 4K 60fps with a very high draw distance which is very impressive for a pc port and really shows that the PS5 is still above high end pcs with proper game optimization.

    The community is great as well (if they talk lol). If you want a somewhat realistic next gen depiction of WW2 warfare you should give Hell Let Loose a try. 8/10    … Expand

    If you expect this game to be COD or battlefield and go guns blazing all the time. You are not the person for this game. There is no feedback on if someone is killed, as in real life you would also not know. This is an 2nd World War game with realistic mechanics and its amazing if you have a team of players who are communicating with you. Not for the weak minded.

    Wow! Once you get past the steep learning curve (do your homework on this one, it will pay off) you will find an incredibly immersive title that is leagues above any FPS out there.

    Great game, very realistic. Before you start, watch some video's of the game on you tube. The first time I played it, within seconds my teammates shot me, not very welcoming, but that"s not the game, but not-so-nice teammates.

    This is seriously one of the best military simulator shooters ever made. The game is tiny and efficient at under 8GB yet the graphics are brilliant and crisp. The environment is truely excellent and does these next generation consoles proud. The only mode is “hardcore” mode in this game. Nothing is easy and every kill feels earned. No kill cams, no HUD, no hit markers, no instant quickThis is seriously one of the best military simulator shooters ever made. The game is tiny and efficient at under 8GB yet the graphics are brilliant and crisp. The environment is truely excellent and does these next generation consoles proud. The only mode is “hardcore” mode in this game. Nothing is easy and every kill feels earned. No kill cams, no HUD, no hit markers, no instant quick respawns. Team work is critical and you’ll soon learn that running and gunning is not the way to play this game.

    There is quite a steep learning curve and this is not for your typical COD run and gun player. If you stick with it and give it a real good go, you’ll see how satisfying and excellent this game really is.    … Expand

    A game has never ever made me go out of my way to leave a rating on it. Nor have I ever rated a game before but this game was so good, It made me go out of my way to rate it and it even got a 10.

The most intense and chaotic online matches I've been apart of. The game makes you feel like you're in a scene from Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan. And playing with friends in a squad is such a blast.

    Cod has gone so far from its roots it is unrecognizable to what hooked a generation. This has taken what I remember from late nights on my PC as a teenager playing cod 2, and improved them to where I wish cod went. I can not say enough good things about this. It is stunning from the graphics to the atmosphere, the sound. The mechanics are not original entirely but done so well.     The game is fantastic. A mix between Company of Heroes, Battlefield( in its glory days) and Some Arma things. Far superior than most shooter games. I would say it is a simulator. BUT BE WARNED!!! You really need to learn it properly before rate it. I will give it a 9 because it needs proper tutorial( the one thats included is very bad).

    Fantastic game but does have a learning curve. Can’t Rambo across maps like COD nor do you get constantly sniped like Battlefield. Working together as a squad and as a whole team determined who wins matches not just KD which is a refreshing change to the FPS genre. Watch out, this is hardcore mode so 1-2 bullets will drop you. Highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a new game.

    Long story short, Hell Let Loose has captured the right war atmosphere what many ww2 console games have failed to capture. Hell Let Loose brings true warfare into your hands.

    Wanted to like this one so bad. At first people were saying you needed to find a server where people are communicating to enjoy the game. I ended up playing a few rounds on a server where people communicated and it was still boring. Needs a thorough tutorial and a number of bugs worked out. Map needs a lot of improvement. I dread opening it and navigating around it.

    This game has the most detailed maps I’ve ever seen! HLL is brutal, punishing, frustratingly fun. fun. The game has greatly improved since the beta. The games road map has my interest peaked. I got it for free on PS+. Will gladly pay for dlc’s. Indie game studio doing all the right things! No AAA gimmicky **** with Hell Let Loose!

    You've never experienced a true WW2 sim if you've never played this game. I finally decided to install this game without prior knowledge to what this game even is and all I can say is I'm hooked. Do yourself a favour and get this game NOW. I even quite BR games after this one.

    Obviously the best WW2 multiplayer FPS. Awesome sound design, hardcore gameplay you'll really think you're on the front. Recoil is nice. I mean if you are looking for a simulation don't look further that's the game you need. Learning curve is hard and slow but once you understand how the game works it's awesome. I'm gonna give you one tip : COMMUNICATE and FOLLOW THE ORDER that's theObviously the best WW2 multiplayer FPS. Awesome sound design, hardcore gameplay you'll really think you're on the front.     Fantastic game, the most immersive shooter I’ve ever played. Coms is a must, when everyone is communicating there is nothing like it. The hours fly by, love it.

I'm so lucky that a friend of mine who'd been playing on PC convinced me to keep playing and learning the game. It's now my favourite multiplayer game ever. I've had some of the most intense multiplayer moments of my life playing this game. It feels like an actual war, not a game. TheTHIS GAME IS AMAZING! When I first started playing, coming from Battlefield it felt slow and boring. I'm so lucky that a friend of mine who'd been playing on PC convinced me to keep playing and learning the game. It's now my favourite multiplayer game ever. I've had some of the most intense multiplayer moments of my life playing this game. It feels like an actual war, not a game. The atmosphere is amazing, the gameplay near perfect and if your squad is all communicating and working together there's nothing else that can touch it IMO.

    If you've played it and turned it off because it felt slow or you didn't understand what you were supposed to be doing, ,go back and learn. Ask the other people in your squad for help, they'll be happy to. I honestly can not recommended this game enough.    … Expand

    Couldn't be happier with this game. Got tired of COD and Battlefield so this is a perfect replacement. It does have a few minor issues but it really doesn't take away from the game. Love it and because of this game Battlefield 2042 will be an easy pass.

What we have been waiting for since we were kids playing the original call of duty’s and metal of honor games back when they were more realistic but with not so great graphics… and a direction at one point in time battlefield was headed. But this is a game now with amazing graphics, huge maps and roles toMilItary sim. Incredibly realistic. Amazing atmosphere. Finally finally finally!!! What we have been waiting for since we were kids playing the original call of duty’s and metal of honor games back when they were more realistic but with not so great graphics… and a direction at one point in time battlefield was headed. But this is a game now with amazing graphics, huge maps and roles to play TOGETHER. Everyone has a role, work together, talk, and play for the win. Mic is 100% required. No mic, not talking and not working together will ruin the experience for you for sure. But do so and this game will immerse you into another world with plenty of truly epic moments.

    A brutal, hardcore simulation of war; where communication and team work is needed, a great immersive experience and accurate arsenal of war, plus the different transport types. Comms between squad and proxy chat between other squads around you plus the commander is incredibly. Teamwork makes the dream work

    Loving the game and the most recent update. Truly addicted to this right now. Having a mic is definitely needed for that team play. I have played some intense matches with it coming down to the literal last seconds of a win.

    The premise (a WW2 FPS with an interest in realism and a limited HUD) is sound. But snipers have an unreasonable advantage over every other unit, and while communication is important to the experience, there’s no decent alternative to voice chat (which almost nobody uses). For a large-scale WW2 shooter, try Enlisted instead – it’s more fun and is free to play. [Issue#8, p.97]

    Caveats noted, playing Hell Let Loose with a decent squad of players willing to communicate, a competent commander, and skills sufficient to the moment is a unique, exciting, and extremely rewarding first-person shooter experience, ultimately much more satisfying than the arcade shooters to which most players are accustomed. Getting to the point of real comfort with the game’s mechanics, interface and team systems takes a commitment of time and the willingness to learn from others and the game’s written material, and is definitely not for everyone. Hell Let Loose does a great job of reminding us how important teamwork, communication, and reliance on others can be, not just in war but maybe in the broader context of our lives.

    Hell Let Loose does little to overcome the downsides of its realistic take on World War 2 and strategic gameplay, but manages to reap some rewards out of it as well.
