I've been looking for a larger map > Squad based game for a while, and being more accessible being on PS5 is a bonus.

Things I like about HHL on PS5

    - The quality is great, textures, lighting and sound.
    - No fuss UI, really easy to get into a game and understand how progression works.
    - If people are willing, it can be immersive if people are working together.
    - When you understand how the modes work, it becomes a lot easier in terms of strategy.
    - Length of games are long, so you have enough time to really dig in and enjoy it.
    - Surprisingly - you can see enemy 250m away with some detail.
    - Really easy to switch between squad and team chat
    - Awesome to overhear over teams chatting when you get close (some sort of proximity chat thing)

    Things I don't like

    - Aiming, it seems it's harder to simply aim at an enemy on console, you have sensitivity, this deadzone thing (how much you have to move the stick before it recognises it). You have to wrestle a little bit to get it where it needs to go, and with recoil etc. sometimes you're all over the place.
    - It's not apparent from the start unless you read the manuals, what each role does, so as a noob you don't know how you can help.
    - If no one is talking: if there's no communication, the game becomes frustrating because the idea is about holding ground, not kills - so if no one is working together to make points you can spawn from, you are left to run long distances just to get back in the action.
    - Running: it's meant to simulate real speeds but the steps and movements are too drawn out, they need to speed it or add more steps in per metre to create a sense of urgency.
    - The scoreboard only uses icons to reference how you did, they need to add text so I know how I performed quickly.

Tips: download this with a few friends if you can so you're not left hoping people will or won't chat.
I found enabling cross play helps with people who want to chat.

Best ww2 game ever. Takes a bit of work to learn the system, but it’s very rewarding

Finally a war game. There are things to improve, but when playing, it transmits exactly what this game should transmit.

Too many hacker's, not enough players. They had no choice but to give this away for free. The menu is buggy not responding to inputs and it's not a very approachable game. Graphics are pretty though.

You have to learn this game on your own. The battlefield is brutal you won't get far without a team. So if youre a solo player maybe look somewhere else. You will die alot. Fun game but frustrating.

If you know what to do and how to play this game can be very fun. Its pretty horrible tho on ps5 when there are 100 people fighting. You will learn how much a game can lag. I love the rest no battlepass etc just pure war and skill.

Games slow and clunky don't see why people like it.

Spend more time running that actually shooting, in a FPS...

The best tactical game I've ever played. She is wonderful in every way. 10/10

Unfortunately, since the few updates released by the T17, it's a different game. BAD GAME!

New updates make the game easier and easier. This is not what veterans of the game expect.

The current rating is 5/10 nothing more...

I will change my rating if you fix the game

The premise (a WW2 FPS with an interest in realism and a limited HUD) is sound. But snipers have an unreasonable advantage over every other unit, and while communication is important to the experience, there’s no decent alternative to voice chat (which almost nobody uses). For a large-scale WW2 shooter, try Enlisted instead – it’s more fun and is free to play. [Issue#8, p.97]

Caveats noted, playing Hell Let Loose with a decent squad of players willing to communicate, a competent commander, and skills sufficient to the moment is a unique, exciting, and extremely rewarding first-person shooter experience, ultimately much more satisfying than the arcade shooters to which most players are accustomed. Getting to the point of real comfort with the game’s mechanics, interface and team systems takes a commitment of time and the willingness to learn from others and the game’s written material, and is definitely not for everyone. Hell Let Loose does a great job of reminding us how important teamwork, communication, and reliance on others can be, not just in war but maybe in the broader context of our lives.

Hell Let Loose does little to overcome the downsides of its realistic take on World War 2 and strategic gameplay, but manages to reap some rewards out of it as well.
