    When they announced GTA trilogy remaster I was 100% sure this will be on GTA 5 engine or something else as modern. I was sure we get realistic versions of same characters and improved mechanics. But no! They did same old thing with slightly changed models, neiro-upscaled textures and a ton of rotten censorship. In recent years I have been surprised to see the largest gamedev companies produce their masterpieces' remasters one after another, making them unbelievably bad as if all this time developers have not improved their skills, but degraded. So we got a gleeful remasters of AC3, WC3, D2R and a not-so-bad but dubious and lazy remaster of Mass Effect. Now this one arrived to to update game failure records.

    I want to give all the developers a good advice. You think the fans' love is endless and they will buy everything you make in any state. You're wrong. Your fans are not your fans, in fact they love ONLY quality.    … Expand

    If you don't look too closely on visuals it will even seem not bad (but this doesn't include characters) . But the more you look the more problems with visuals you see: weird rain and water, some problems with lighting, no fog, some textures look super weird and there's a lot of problems with spelling on them for some reason, some things look unrealisticly shiny etc. Vehicles are nearlyIf you don't look too closely on visuals it will even seem not bad (but this doesn't include characters) . But the more you look the more problems with visuals you see: weird rain and water, some problems with lighting, no fog, some textures look super weird and there's a lot of problems with spelling on them for some reason, some things look unrealisticly shiny etc. Vehicles are nearly the same as in original. They only have new textures and wheels. For some reason they didn't even used better XBOX/Mobile models of them. And also vehicles lost some extras. Some guns (like AK) are badly modelled. And should i even say something about characters???
    Sound is completely untouched. Whis is inadmissible. In GTA 3 some sounds literally hurt the ears.
    Physics is like in original, but in some cases they even managed to mess it up.
    Technically the games is bad. Most of bugs ang glitches are stayed from the original, but now there's A TON of new ones (including visual bugs). The games is very poorly optimized.
    They also promised us better controls, but controls are barely changed.
    Oh, and the price is 60$!!! Defenitely doesn't worth it    … Expand

    Utterly appalling release, it is like going through a time warp to the early days of gaming. Graphics in Tomb Raider 1 is a better experience than this, requested a refund, Shame on you Rockstar, shame!

    An absolute shame!!! Playing on my PS5 is a mess - in quality mode 30 fps and stuttering and in performance mode it’s still more stuttering and unplayable !!!

    A lot of bugs, models are awful, rain looks like salt, there is a lot of fps loss, scaling is awful too...
    I don't even want to talk about the aim, nothing changed.
    The weapons wheel like in GTA V is great, like for the radios
    Just wow, but don't buy it 60€/$ (every currency you want)
    Just don't buy it.

    I wish i could give this lower then a zero, This trilogy is a complete slap in the face to GTA fans and a slap in the face to the games that made Rockstar what they are today. (or what they used to be). I understand that they run a business and its about making money but its just sad what Rockstar has become. Are they really hurting for money this bad?     There are bugged textures left and right. There is a night and day difference in the detail in the face of the protagonists compared to any other character, and it feels incredibly out of place. There are mission bugs, particularly in VC’s Gun Runner. The frame rate is inconsistent at best, dropping the most drastically when it begins to rain. The rain is also unbearable. In GTA 3, it isThere are bugged textures left and right. In VC and SA, the issue doesn’t seem to be quite as intolerable, but nonetheless they are still just white streaks flying across the screen instead of something that actually resembles rain drops. You could go through the r/GTA or r/GTATrilogy for 5 minutes and spot 30 bugs players have found, which vary from immersion breaking to game breaking. There are removed songs and animations in each game, the most egregious of the animations being everything muscular CJ does now. And as far as missing songs goes, the company that made this game has amassed an unbelievable amount of wealth, and it’s nothing but laziness and greediness to not work out licensing for the ACTUAL DEFINITIVE SOUNDTRACK. The games’ audio received almost no polish. It seems the only thing actually done to change these games from what they were before is the graphical appearance. When these games were current, they were the best looking PS2 era games around. With the “Definitive” editions just released, they are still nothing more than the best looking PS2 era games. The only changes to make gameplay any smoother are the free camera, and free camera drive by controls. By today’s standards, GTA 3 is next to unplayable. Nothing about it feels good. It was a chore to complete, and it’s a game from my childhood that I have incredibly fond memories of. I even go back and play the original version once every 2 or 3 years, along with VC and SA. These games deserved improvements to make them appeal to the generation that didn’t get the chance to play them when all the hype surrounded them. Instead, we’ve gotten 3 bug ridden messes from a studio that already ruined the 10 year anniversary edition of, arguably, everybody’s favorite game, San Andreas (I prefer VC for the story, and SA for gameplay). If changes aren’t made VERY soon to fix performance issues, and eliminate the dozens of bugs players are coming across, I think the legacy of these games will be tarnished, and the reputation of all companies involved will be questioned of laziness and greed. tl;dr: It’s a rushed mess. It is incredibly apparent they needed at least another 2 months to have the games properly built. And now, instead, we’re going to have to wait and hope that they add patches that we should’ve never had to wait for in the first place.… Expand

    Sad. The only thing definitive here is how definitively horrible these versions are. This feels more like a mobile port of a ps2 port. The UI is laggy and unintuitive, the controls are cumbersome, and the camera is motion sickness inducing. Very disappointed.

    As an old fan of the series, with thousand of hours played, I say this was a huge disappointment. They fixed "good" glitches which were used for nice exploits and neglected the bad glitches. It is a lazy up refurbished mobile port. I guess I should expect as much from Grove Street Games (or War drum studios).
    I cannot believe they removed the original versions, which were great, for this.

I must admit, I am sure there were a few people at Grove Street Games who wanted it to be a decent product but were rushed.     The best one is GTA 3, but San Andreas has lost all of its soul; weird graphics and rain effects, over-the-top draw distances, no working back lights at nighttime (first world problem, I understand), and no classic fog makes the map fell small and pathetic. How did Rockstar make the best game of all time, Red Dead Redemption 2 (although quite glitchy) to this?

    Truly unreal.

    This is what happens when you priorities money over delivering a quality product and hiring talent. A true embarrassment. Is Rockstar Games ran by 12 year olds? Heck, even they would do better than the grown adults at this rate. To quote Greta Thunberg, ‘All you care about is money’ can be applied to Take 2 and Rockstar. A disaster which is irredeemable.

    This it is for innovation. I hope you kept the originals, because they’re gone forever - a violation of game preservation! How about suing people who made mods to improve the game, and was once promoted by the game studios. Money, money, money, must be funny in a rich man’s world!

    As long as the CEO can pay for his six-figure car he won’t ever get the full power from, they do not care about the player.

    At least the developers of Mafia cared enough to create a good and worthy remake.

    Don’t even get me started on the Rockstar Game Launcher. 2,000 employees. What do they do all day?

    How the hell does my PC with RX 6900xt and Ryzen 7 5800x can't run the game with 60fps in 2k ??? FPS in these 3 games dropped so bad not even over 40fps. This is pure garbage not even worth your time to play and pay. The optimization is the worst.

    The textures look like something out of a children's cartoon: they exaggerated the saturation of the characters to try to look "new generation". The most ridiculous thing is that they try to sell you at $60 something that mods could achieve perfectly. Disappointing, to say the least.

    + lights and some visuals - controls (ie. locked mouse y-axis) - character speed too fast (feels like on mobile phone) - cycling speed (seems like your bike has 40 horse power now) - character models (wtf???) - bugs (rotating pillars, heavy rain visibility, etc.) - audio controls (gun sfx too loud)    Horrible port of a mobile game.     Acho que 2 é uma nota justa para o trabalho porco que fizeram com essa obra prima. A história é excelente, te prende e tem grandes reviravoltas sobre o decorrer do enredo, porém o que mais me chateia é simplesmente terem colocado, apenas uma nova engine. Não vale os R$320,00 BRL.

    The limited draw distance worked to the games benefit... it made the map seem huge. Now that sense of scale and wonder have been completely ruined. Not even a slight haze like in real life... :(

    I love all the games of the GTA series. With great trepidation and hope was waiting for this trilogy. I paid money, but I received not Remaster, and the negligent work! Minimum number of new textures. Many mistakes.

    The promised "GTA 5 Gameplay" is actually just a GTA 5 controller layout. Other than that the games still play like their PS2 originals. This is a disappointment in my opinion. Also the promised checkpoints, are checkpoints that let you start a mission from the beginning. Okay hey it's 2021 you could have done more. Whatsoever the biggest crap about this new system is if you do not retry a mission all your Guns are gone … wow!

    Performance:
    The biggest point on my list. The games are not playable at the moment. It starts with small bugs like a weird collision system that lets you hit stuff randomly to cars that break out for no reason. But hey lets move on. Then there are cars that fly in the air and get stuck when you get out in an ally. We have weirdly flying lamps, passengers jumping randomly in front of your car to missions that cant progress because the mission marker wont load. And so many more, I try to refund this crap, it makes me angry.

    Besides the crazy design fails everyone’s laughing about, it just isnt good. I mean its the same games sure we know what to expect. But the „improvements“ in handling, gunplay, driving etc are just not good.
    Its just a cheap way to make lots of money. There wasnt put any heart into this project

    This is a review from a 2000 kid. The definitive edition is good. The graphical improvements are spot on. BUT THEY NEED TO ADDRESS THE PEOPLE. The countless bugs and silence from rockstar are disheartening and a big middle finger to the fans who grew up with these games.

Can barely see smoke coming out of damaged vehicles. Street lamps and stoplights going from upright to laying on the ground in 1 frame after being hit by a car. The audio has not been remastered at all. I'm sure there are more problems, but those are the few I saw in my very short window to play the games before they got removed. I can forgive removed music tracks. I can forgive a few odd looking character models. I can forgive low quality audio. But I can't forgive them for the extent to which they have butchered this trilogy. It's a disgrace. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.… Expand

    The price of this trilogy release is disgraceful. With everything cut from the game like iconic tracks. That was bad enough, but what do you get for your full price release... a game that is so full of bugs I am thinking of calling in the exterminators.

    O gráfico ambiente do game tá muito bom, mas já os personagens.. Tudo estragado fora os vários bugs durante gameplay e até cutscenes, crashes durante o gameplay, queda de FPS em algumas partes do mapa e com algumas condições climáticas até piora, os NPC's são totalmente sem noção (mais que o normal) principalmente os membros da gangue recrutados Enfim é isso

    I'd really prefer to own the original versions. The 'enhancements' actually make the game look and feel much worse in some key areas. Rain effects which make it difficult to drive, awful facial hair which just makes cutscenes less engaging, removal of many great songs and it's surprisingly buggy.

    Just come on, Rockstar, it feels like you put no effort into this game. Frame rate issues, bad physics, emotionless character face, horrible modelling, no option to add fog in San Andreas. Please put the original games back up so we don't have to play this new garbage.

    Taking down mods and removing the option to purchase the older versions in favor of this trash was a bad move. The game was rushed. Full of bugs, broken models, incorrect spelling on even textures.

    Rushed and unworthy of even a 0. Rockstar did well to keep gameplay and images to a minimum before release. Biggest scam in gaming since Cyberpunk. In some cases they made the game look worse. Not only that, rockstar removed all other versions of the games to force people to pay $60 even if you only wanted 1/3 games. Obvious cash grab by a once great company.

    This was a selection of games that defined a decade for people in the western world. It’s a shame to see that Rockstar allowed these masterpieces to be dismantled by grove street games. It’s a shame to see Rockstar demise.
