I absolutely loved the first game (2018), and I almost feel the same way about this one, it’s continuing to grow on me, but it might not be quite as special to me as the 2018 game. Conversely, if the 2018 game didn’t do much for you, this one won’t either. I think the combat is better, but it’s similar, so keep that in mind if you are deciding whether to play this one. If you didn’t play the 2018 predecessor, you have to play that one before this one.… Expand

    Plus, I kinda already figured that you'd be able to play as Atreus, but I didn't think he'd be so fun to play as! My only gripe is that you can't play as him again once you finish the main story. But it just means that I'm gonna have to play through it again, and I will NOT complain about that.    … Expand

    Игру тащит назад пс4. Кратосу тесно) и если оценивать игру как для пс4 то это тупо топ. Но для пс5 техническое состояние игры говорит или даже кричит что игра немного устарела. Из-за этого я не могу ей за геймплей дать 9 баллов даже. Это 8. Но боевая система всё ещё одна из лучших в соешерах, потому это 9. Десять не могу дать из-за вторичности.     Итак. 40 часов.

    Беру свои слова обратно. Геймплей 9 тупо из-за разнообразия. Они просто задавили им.

    Боевая система 9. Это то что надо пробовать. Такого слешера не было ранее нигде в какие я только слешеры не играл. Прямо супер вау от всего, что они понаделывали нет, но это однозначно стоит пробовать каждому любителю слешеров. Это очень необычно. Не знаю как они это всё поместили на пс4. Возможно даже 9.5 потому что тупо разнообразием задавили.

    Сюжет 10. Это чистый шедевр во всех аспектах. От кончиков сайдов до волосков основного сюжета пока что.

    Музыка 10. Новые эмбиенты хороши.

    Игра пока что не может достигнуть вау эффекта от первой части. Но она уже борется за место в топе. Моих игр. Сони выдрочили сука каждый кустик в гейм дизайнерском плане. Очень порционно и без передоза поддается вообще всё, от нововведений в геймплее до сюжета. Каждые 4-8 часов игра меняется очень сильно.    … Expand

    I don't usually write reviews or give ratings, but God of war is one of my favorite series along with mass effect and tlou. As with the original, the developers managed to improve the original formula and make an already excellent game even better. I liked the graphics, characters, variety. I can't find any disadvantages. The best game of 2022.

    Amazing game, good story and awesome combat, soundtrack is epic as hell.
    Even better than 2018 GOW.

    Sadly some Polish and Russian speaking people are reviewing bombing cause it isnt dubbed in their language *insert facepalm*.
    or people forget its a sequel: so yes its gonna take place in the same realms ofc...

    No spoiler here, i just want to say for who never played this game: worth it to try. The game-play rescue the best of the first God of War and innovate in crucial aspects. The dynamic is perfect, makes you want to explore each corner and also makes you wanna progress in main story. I have no words to say about the graphics. One of the best games i ever played in my life

    Las sorpresas que ofrece a lo largo del juego, ofreciéndonos una visión que no esperábamos y seguramente la mejor para la saga.
    Gráficamente, pese a ser intergeneracional, es ya el juego más avanzado tecnológicamente de la nueva generación. Simplemente apabullante.
    Todos y cada uno de los nueve reinos a explorar, con decenas de secundarias y tareas a realizar.
    Combate ultrasatisfactorio, con muchas posibilidades de superar al enemigo.
    Los jefes finales, mucho más abundantes y variados, a la altura de God of War 3.
    Secundarias de calidad, que alargan el juego de forma interesante y que aporta a la historia.
    Sobre las 50 horas cuesta completarlo al 100%, una excelente duración para el género.
    Dificultad con algun que otro pico desafiante. Sacar el platino cuesta sudor y sangre gracias a los Berserkers.
    Todo lo que hacía God of War 2018, este lo hace más y mejor.

    Un verdader JUEGAZO sin palabras de principio a fin, visualmente un espectaculo, a nivel narrativo mejoro mucho con el anterior juego, y la jugabilidad si es verdad que no cambia muvho pero los elementos y recursos mas varias sorpresas que te dan cumple con todas mis espectativas sin duda un juegazo rendondo junto a eldeng ring los mejores del año y de esta next gen hasta el momento...

    The first game being my favorite game of all time I wondered how in the next game they could possibly do better. While there are things I like about the fist game more I can confidently say that this is one of the best games ever made. the combat is engaging though it starts out slow and a bit familiar but in a very good way.     Teniendo en cuenta que este juego fue pensado originalmente para la PS4, se ve genial en PS5 que es donde he podido disfrutarlo, no obstante, creo que el salto más importante ha sido en el combate, si bien gran parte de este ha sido acogido del primer juego, en esta secuela se ha mejorado tanto en fluidez como variedad, si tuviera que describirlo con 2 palabras serían extremadamenteTeniendo en cuenta que este juego fue pensado originalmente para la PS4, se ve genial en PS5 que es donde he podido disfrutarlo, no obstante, creo que el salto más importante ha sido en el combate, si bien gran parte de este ha sido acogido del primer juego, en esta secuela se ha mejorado tanto en fluidez como variedad, si tuviera que describirlo con 2 palabras serían extremadamente satisfactorio, todo lo que un juego de esta saga siempre promete sin siquiera anunciarlo, con respecto a la historia, exquisita como siempre, complementando conocimientos que ya teníamos y siendo esta una versión adaptada de el “ragnarok” de la mitología nórdica debí decir que pareciera que es la historia original (ya que tiene algunos cambios pero lo principal se mantiene) ya que está tan bien sustentada y estructurada que olvidas que alguna vez mencionaron que no sería exactamente como en la mitología.
    La evolución de Kratos es sorprendente, en el primer juego de lo notaba como alguien cansado de la vida que encontró un rastro de esperanza en su hijo, Atreus, ahora habiendo evolucionado ambos se puede ver como Kratos es más expresivo, tanto en su relación con Atreus como con la de sus amigos, nuestra curiosidad e interés con sus vidas, siempre manteniendo su sabiduría y cautela por delante, este juego es simplemente perfecto en todo aspecto, no esperaba menos de Santa Monica Studio o de la saga de GOD OF WAR, gracias por esta experiencia.    … Expand

    God of War Ragnarök fires on all cylinders! Beautiful end to the journey which started with 2018 God of War. I cry. A rare piece of entertainment, we do not get games like this every year. Shout-out to Santa Monica Studio, damn guys!

    The game has an awesome continuation of the story. Great addition on combat style and combat challenge not too difficult but not so relaxed as well certain in enemies at harder level they keep you entertained. I would say the story was slow in the first 3-4h of gameplay but it picked up greatly. I would say it is GOW 2018 upgraded with new story.

    This game is incredible. The story is very long, but also incredibly rich. This is without a doubt the game of the year. If it isn't I'll be surprised. It's everything I could have wanted out of the continuation of the God of War series and they have done so beautifully.

I was worried my expectations were too high going into this, and I’m so glad it somehow exceeded them.     It deserves to win the game of the year award, it's perfect. I only saw two bugs in the entire game. 70 hours to get the platinum trophy, it's been the best hours I've had since I bought my PS5. The story is excellent and graphics are beautiful

    God of war Ragnarok is a big step up from the game of the year winning god of war. Everything is improved and there are no bugs or performance issues which is very rare for a huge and expansive triple a game.

    To keep it short, story is fantastic, gameplay is the same as 2018 but way more refined and extremely fast sometimes, so it is also fantastic, graphics, jaw-dropping
    Overally you cant score this game low

    I won't write about details. But I am 31 years old, I play video games since I am 6. It's the best game I have ever played in terms of a complete package (narrative, soundtrack, Gameplay, skill variety, Gameplay variety, scenario) congrats Santa Monica.

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
