Beautiful visuals and great combat mechanics even out the repetitiveness of the side-quests. Al tough there are some quest lines that are worthwhile and the story itself is actually great.

+ Good combat + Great visuals + Some good quest lines and a great main story. - Repetitive Iki Island also had a great main story and was more of the same in game play, which is great if you liked

Ghost of Tsushima is a gorgeous game with really nice combat, beautiful landscapes, and a really good story (parts of which had me tearing up). I have very very few issues with this game. I felt that even on the hardest difficulty, combat was a bit too easy by the end of the main campaign. However, the boss fights were still very difficult and were downright impossible on that difficulty.Ghost of Tsushima is a gorgeous game with really nice combat, beautiful landscapes, and a really good story (parts of which had me tearing up). I have very very few issues with this game. I felt that even on the hardest difficulty, combat was a bit too easy by the end of the main campaign. However, the boss fights were still very difficult and were downright impossible on that difficulty. Iki island was moderately more difficult and scratched that combat itch for me. My only other gripe is that I wish the game had been longer because it was so good and I enjoyed it so much. I still put in over 60 hours but would have been happy to put in another 30-40. The game is just that fun. I’m hoping that the rumors of a sequel are true as this has been my favorite game on PS5 thus far.

Most of the negative reviews are just people who bought the ps5 version after playing the ps4 version and were upset that there wasn’t much added. Anyone who has serious issues with the gameplay itself either doesn’t like RPGs or just has a very subjective opinion regarding the combat or graphics (graphics are extremely good in my opinion).

Boring assassin's Creed clone. Terrible story and terrible side content. Wish I never played it

Expand

Well done update for a great game. Lots of new content is complemented by a ton of new gameplay elements. More content was missing from the basic game, otherwise there was nothing to complain about. And now everything is fine. Reason to buy Playstation 5 if you don't already have one.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut has improved the graphic of the game greatly. The newly added Iki Island brings new stories and challenges, and further extended the story background. For players who have already cleared the game, playing the Director's Cut version is still an unforgettable experience.

It’s more of a regular DLC paired with some improvements for the PS5 rather than a true director’s cut. However, the developers do deserve praise for how skillfully they inserted the expansion into the narrative of the base game. The story about Jin’s past and the sins of ancestors is great (as opposed to boring side quests), new enemies pose a challenge, and the game as a whole shines on PS5’s more powerful hardware. I wish the visual improvements were more noticeable though. [11/2021, p.31]
