The level of detail means that Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator is an idealised portrayal of having a successful green thumb. The customisation for building style and colour may be limited, but since the focus is on planting and flower care rather than architecture, dozens of options aren't needed. There are styles of tools to suit all tastes, with a mode for those who don't care for the story and want to focus on only the gardening. Let's hope a sequel is in the works with bigger gardens and new features.

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator successfully delivers on the title's promise, removing the gruelling labours of a gardener and replacing them with rewarding gameplay mechanics. The controls are simple and repetitive, but never becomes stale as plentiful tasks will keep you on your toes. Plant growth feels responsive to your actions as you nurture nature, the resulting flowers bright and vibrant, as are the decorations you can place around the garden. Aside from the plant limit preventing a full scale botanical gardens and the slightly wearing inventory sorting, Garden Life is a peaceful and pleasant experience which allows you to play at your own pace, enhancing the cozy vibes.

When it comes down to it, I think Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator does what it sets out to do. It's a comfortable game with very little strife or stakes. Growing and maintaining the garden has a simplicity to it and the brief days allow the pacing to largely stay steady. The story mode delivers a structure that does provide a tutorial whilst pushing you gently towards greater goals. I do wish the inventory management has a little smarter but it hasn't dampened my spirits too much. It is a time investment but can be rewarding when the garden really opens up to you.

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator is just that: cozy. There’s little reason to strive for perfection in a game that merely wants players to dabble in its goal of building whatever kind of idyllic flower patch desired. This kind of directionless aura may be a turn off for those seeking a different kind of simulator but what’s on offer is hard not to enjoy.

'Garden life: a cozy simulator' is - as the name gives away - a cozy game for young and old. You get the freedom to do everything the way you want. You don't need a green thumb or gaming experience. Moreover, the game looks beautiful. The main drawback is that it can quickly feel monotonous.

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator feels like an unfinished project or one that was rushed to meet a deadline and some parts have been left out. Somewhere in the rush to make the coziest experience possible, the fun took a backseat and as a result the basic idea backfired. It is cozy, but after a point it is hardly engaging. There is no real motivation beyond designing and building your dream garden using a limited variety of plants and decorations. Still despite all the shortcomings, the game delivers exactly on the promised atmosphere, that is completely cozy, but can hardly be called a simulator.
