    Spoiler free; After playing the demo, I immediately preordered the game proper and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint. Superb gameplay, cinematics and story. Lots of flexibility on how to engage with combat, depending on skill level and its linear approach is in no way a detriment to the game. Fantastic all round.

    This game is phenomenal at all levels. Best combat, visuals, directiom, and story. If you like god of war type games, you'll love this game.

    People giving this game a zero make no sense. They are just upset about the change in style of the game to more action focused. There is no justification to give this game a zero even if ur perhaps not a fan of the story or direction.

    just my goty! i know its nor perfect for anyone. Still the story, characters and voice acting are amazing. the visuals, the smooth combat are great. and just dont forget the soundtrack.... it is phenomenal. ty square for this masterpiece

    With FF16 you get amazing combat, and Story and Incredible Music, while it's not really an rpg with in depth progression systems, it's still a fantastic action story game.

    One of the most magical games I’ve ever played, and the fact that it’s polarizing makes no sense to me. The combat feels incredible and is some of the best I’ve ever experienced, with some of the boss fight genuinely making my jaw drop. Clive is one of the most likable protagonists I’ve seen in a while, with the story he’s a part of being extremely well-written and interesting.     This game includes some of the most jaw dropping spectacles I've ever seen in any medium. I am constantly left speechless and often teary-eyed. The combat is some of the most intricate and explorative I've experienced. The soundtrack gives me chills as it weaves in and out of situations seamlessly. The narrative and performances come together in ways I will never forget.

    The quality AND    This game includes some of the most jaw dropping spectacles I've ever seen in any medium. I am constantly left speechless and often teary-eyed.     The best Final Fantasy game in a long time, the combat is some of the best in any game which is unsurprising given who made it. While I understand some people are disappointed by the departure from the turn based combat I feel that it was for the best and there are ways to incorporate that style into action combat.     Haven't enjoyed a game this much since i was a kid.

    FFXVI is a unique experience. If you are open to playing the experience the developers intended, you are most likely going to love it. The highs in this game are unlike anything i've ever experienced.     Been playing FF since age of 8, now >30 y.o, and I love the direction, characters, writing, battle of this game, full of epic, less cringe dialogues. Despite the frame rate issue, it does not impact my experiences of the game.

    One of three contenders for GOTY. 10/10. Love it. Real talk. The story is incredible. Thoroughly enjoying this one so far. Can’t decide between TOTK, RE4 and this one. All of these games are great

    Absolutely fantastic all across the board. The best boss fights I’ve ever seen, insanely good music, and a beautiful story about how love makes us stronger. I very much recommend this game.

    This has been one of my favorite Final Fantast games since FFX! The development team put a lot of care and love in this game and it shows. They wanted to capture all the elements that makes Final Fantasy, and I'd say they achievied it. Yoshi-P loves Final Fantasy, and I had faith in his ability to deliver a fantastic game. Soken's OST for this game is phenomenal, and being mentored byThis has been one of my favorite Final Fantast games since FFX! Yoshi-P loves Final Fantasy, and I had faith in his ability to deliver a fantastic game. Soken's OST for this game is phenomenal, and being mentored by Uematsu certainly shows! Each track he's composed is a new favorite of mine. And while I'm not the best at action rpg combat, this has been fun and challenging, and i see all the possibilities available to make combat fun. Honestly, every piece of this game is well thought out and full of love, and I think that's what has mad it such an enjoyable and fun experience.… Expand

    I was never a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, but when I first saw the combat style of this game it caught my attention, and decided to give it a chance - I'm glad I gave it a try... The cinematics of this game are just beautiful! The game is not perfect obviously (sidequests are somewhat boring) but besides that, 10/10 FOR ME!!

    Final Fantasy XVI is nothing short of perfect. As a long time fan of the FF series I am so happy to play such a beautiful game with yet again another great storyline.

    I'm willing to place bets on this game winning GOTY easily - plus the soundtrack is worthy of awards itself - well done Square & CBU3!

    FFXVI is the best final fantasy has been in a long time. The story is great, music is legendary as usual, combat is smooth and clean, cinematics/cinematic clashes are beautiful and the greatest thing added. It might be the first FF game ever where i did not hate a single character in it. The game made me emotional and i just loved every second of playing it. Truly all negative reviews areFFXVI is the best final fantasy has been in a long time. The way they brought back the dark, gory parts of Final Fantasy is great as well as it is what all fans have been asking for now i hope they just keep it. Clive is a great main character who has become on of my favorites and i will love him forever as he goes down as a legendary character to me like Cloud was.

    In all honesty this game does everything it needed to and more. Some people will complain because it is not turn based but that's not really the style anymore and it would hurt the game more sometimes games need change but i do want to still see turn based FF games but this one defiantly did not need it. Overall please give this game a go, Square put so much love and effort into it even giving the game proper English lip sync/ the models were done with English which is rare, it has everything you will love from the FF series and more and if you have never played a FF game before hop in with FFXVI and enjoy the legendary game as it defiantly will go down in history as one of the best Final Fantasy games.    … Expand

    Here I am at 2 AM finishing the game. I've been waiting for such emotional experience 23 years ever since FF IX, it was worth the wait.

    Absolute masterpiece.

If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.
