    I will say this is one of the best final fantasy games to have come in .. the game is full of back story , and information on each character , each place you visit , you’re even allowed to pause cutscenes and pull up a guide that give back stories and information on any bit of detail you missed in case you don’t remember what something is. Normally you’re dropped in a final fantasy game and don’t know what is going on or only get fragments early on .. the combat is the best very fluid and the insane amount of combos that you can chain and pull together is mind blowing . The graphics are amazing , the storyline is gripping just first few hours of the game you’re already pulled in to triple A ACTION ! Absolutely incredible . Square Enix has been puting out a lot of hits lately and been really doing a great job with final fantasy . From the ff7 remake to this .. the characters and story line is absolutely incredible , character leveling is straight forward and simple nothing is overly complicated or overwhelming , the design and sound are some of the best that has been done in recent years this is definitely game of the year ..

    Love the game!!! Story + gameplay are on point, very fun game to play even if you are new to the franchise, the story is great, game is beautiful, gameplay is fun, KUDOS SQUAREENIX!!!!!!!

    Absolutely loving it. I tell you what. The little details for me make it great. The more you move the stick the faster you run, no hud when exploring, the combat is the best in the series I've played for years. The story is very cool so far. Cid is the best character.

    LOVE IT. One the best FF game since FF12. Excellent storytelling, beautiful graphics albeit some slight frame drops in performance mode, phenomenal music and sound, and good balance between action and rpg elements.

    This game is a huge step forward compared to FFXV. The combat, story, world, and exploration is so much more refreshing and better. My only complain is the quest system and how it feels dull. They added some cool RPG mechanics similar to the Witcher and Diablo so that’s a plus.

    Easily in my top 3 favourite ffs. Just behind ff9 and ff8 I belong to that gang who hasn't properly enjoyed an ff since ffx. I haven't played 11 or 14 But 16 is back to glory.

    A masterpiece in many different ways. Combat, music, story and voice acting are all stellar. Performance mode is kinda bad, but I think this game plays great in quality mode.

    As FF old schooler who has play since FF since 7 all back in 98 and all other entry's afterwards (and I have play 1 to 6 afterwards) I have to say I LUV 16! FF is my fav video game franchise of all time and I LUV the direction they took IN 16! I JUST LUV EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!     Awesome game, story, OST and characters. Graphics could be better, as there are some beautiful environments, but sometimes you can see some downgrades with designs. Sidequests could be better. Regardless of that, this is my GOTY so far this year.

    I think it's the best Final Fantasy ever. A great plot and gameplay I hope to see more jrpgs like this. The old Final Fantasy's community is toxic, it doesn't matter what they think. Final Fantasy XVI is amazing. Congrats to Square Enix!

    Final Fantasy XVI es una obra maestra, la historia, el diseño de personajes son increíbles. El sistema de combate creado por Ryota Suzuki es muy inmersivo y gratificante, El apartado gráfico y el diseño de escenarios es impresionante. La banda sonora compuesta por Masayoshi Soken es fantástica. Logran llevar a Final Fantasy XVI a otro nivel de calidad!

    Amazing graphics, cinematics, action, eikon and boss fights are epic, performance is perfectly fine if you have a tv that supports that high performance, music is beautiful, so far everything is just perfect, I don’t get the 0 ratings at all and I think speaking this bad about an obviously beautiful game is ridiculous and got something to do with their personal issues    Breathtaking game

    This game nails all of these and does it like none of the othee non online ones have done since 7-9.

    Anyone that cant see this has not played the game or ignored most of the sidequest that are important to the games story.

    The people review bombing this game. Are just stuck in the past thinking if the game is not turned based its not a final fantasy wich is completly incorrect. Turnbased and final fantasy was more of a thing because it was the best way to work amd synergise with the story at the time due to the limitations of the technology.

    Legit no performance issues at all for me even on graphics mode. Yall prob to send your ps5 in for a rma if your experancing performance issues. I have not seen a single one. Probibly something wrong with your systems cooler or something.

    Quests are actual amazing and I want to do them for once. They are meaningfull and impactfull to the story and add depth to the story as well.

    Final Fantasy is finally back. This game has fulfilled my wants and expectations in every way. Love the story, love the combat, love side quests even (thank god it is not open world). and love the music.
    I can not really find a negative with this game, so I gotta give it a perfect score. Amazing game.

    It's so stylish. I like the combat and atmosphere of the game. The characters are also nice. The graphics is not good though! I think ps4 could easily run this game. Why is it PS5 exclusive?
    I also like the gameplay and the environment. Another problem is stiff facial animation. All in all, I'll give it a solid 9.

    Haven't finished the game yet. Initially it felt like an 8 or 9 but after 30h it feels like a 10/10. Combat is great and intense and even after tens of hours the combat keeps evolving. Graphics and soundtrack are incredible, one of the best looking games with the soundtrack of the year. It has a lot of FF14 DNA, no doubt from the intriguing dark story and storytelling, to maps, explorationHaven't finished the game yet.     Combat:
    The combat in FFXVI is everything Stranger of Paradise tried to be and more. An even better, and more cinematic, take on DMC combat combined with a better equivalent of SoP's on the fly job change system. The timing for optimal combos is tight, but the versatility and options available are incredible when used to their fullest potential. This combined with the best cinematic qte's since Metal Gear Rising makes for fights that will impress the player mechanically and visually.

    Story:
    It's Final Fantasy, and it doesn't disappoint. While some game journalists have accused it of focusing more on the magic than the politics halfway through, this is how FF has always been (hello FF7). Overall, the characters are compelling, the protagonist the best since Cloud, and the party interactions are charming and witty. The world building does not suffer thanks to the Active Time Lore system, and the Tomes system found 3-4 hours in.

    Graphics and performance:
    I was disappointed with the motion blur in the demo, but I'm happy to say it's no longer an issue with the actual release. When playing on Graphics mode, the frame rate is steady and the visuals absolutely pop.

    Overall, I'd rate this game somewhere between 9.5 and 9.9, as it's only dragged down by its side quests. The core game experience is some of the best out there and it goes above and beyond in delivering exactly what it promised.    … Expand

    Fantastic game. Cannot recommend more. The combat is complex, fun and always evolving. The story is incredible and the voice acting... *chef's kiss* I hope anyone perusing these reviews seeing these zero ratings know they're coming from trolls who think review-bombing is funny. This is the best Final Fantasy in well over a decade.

Combat is really satisfying and it runs very well on PS5, no frame drop I’ve encountered on performance mode. The 0 reviews I’m seeing are obviously from pansy starfield chodes. It’s impossible that anyone could give this game a 0 when it is a GOTY contender…those things don’t match up.The game is great so far. I’m thoroughly enjoying it right now. The story is quite good in my opinion. Combat is really satisfying and it runs very well on PS5, no frame drop I’ve encountered on performance mode.     The story is so immersive that it moves along smoothly.
    Many of the subquests are fast-paced and allow you to understand the world of Valiszea.
    Battles are deep.
    The characters are great!
    In short, this is the ultimate game.

The closest approximation in terms of presentation would be Naughty Dog games. The combat is extremely fun; even in open areas where I could avoid some fights I’m seeking them out. But, the new hack and slash style is really growing on me. Combat in the beginning of the game leaves something to be desires but it eventually grows into a great battle system about 9 or 10 hours in. Yes, the game is fairlyI'm a long-time fan of Final Fantasy and I haven't been this captivated by an entry since FFX. I was dissapointed in the parting from a turn-based combat system.     The new DMC inspired combat is top notch and fun to play with Eikon combinations.
    Boss battles are insanely good and nothing short but a phenomenal visual spectacle.
    Soundtrack just slaps and goes hard when it needs to and knows how to slow down during emotional moments.

    Incredible. The narrative, combat and visual style is all perfect. Really cool how they let you scale up or down the difficulty of combat so you can choose a more involved experience for when you're feeling like a challenge but also there's an option for an easier setting if you feel like more of a narrative focused experience.

    Story - great Characters - Great Gameplay - Great (unless you are a journalist) VA - GOAT Music - GOAT Side quests - These imbecils that say the side quests are boring never payed attention to them at all.     If i had a major criticism it would be the side quest. The game bombards the player with them and they are boring . Previous Final Fantasy games the side quests were subtle and enjoyable.

    A beautiful debut for the former Heavensward staff at CBU3. The story is heartwrenching, exciting, romantic, tragic and hopeful throughout. The main cast is wonderful with each voice actor doing an incredible job, elevating the story countless times. Combat is incredibly satisfying with lots of combo potential in each and every eikon's kit. Above everything else, the music and the bossA beautiful debut for the former Heavensward staff at CBU3.     I'm not the biggest final fantasy fan unless it's ff14 but it's pretty good and I have been enjoying its the only reason I even went and bought a PS5 I didn't care for anything else compared to all of the other garbage sony pushes this is great.

    Great game! I’m about 35 hours in and can’t get enough of it. Great graphics and tremendous story! Gameplay is action packed and crisp. Very enjoyable experience.

    I've been playing FF since 2005 and I can guarantee, contrary to some reviews, that FF16 is a legitimate Final Fantasy. Today he is in second place for me, behind only FF7 REMAKE.

    I can say that FFXVI is a must play for fans of single player action games. It’s a high fantasy anime action story with tons of great moments and jaw dropping visuals and animations. It wont be for everyone, but if you want crazy good looking anime action gameplay, this is one of the best games you could buy. The focus on action gameplay, instead of turn based or heavy rpg gameplay, was aI can say that FFXVI is a must play for fans of single player action games. It’s a high fantasy anime action story with tons of great moments and jaw dropping visuals and animations. It wont be for everyone, but if you want crazy good looking anime action gameplay, this is one of the best games you could buy. The focus on action gameplay, instead of turn based or heavy rpg gameplay, was a great decision imo. The gameplay is very accessible for beginners but also has a very high skill ceiling for gamers who like perfecting combat systems. You’ll feel like a badass early but, you can become like a god tier anime protagonist after you practice and play with all the mechanics for a while. The side quests and sheer amount of cutscenes/dialogue can be a bit time consuming and even tedious at times. You can skip through the side quest dialogue parts, and though you can, I wouldn’t recommend skipping through the actual cutscenes as most have important story content and amazing visuals at that. Overall, if you like world building and story driven content in video games then the side stuff and amount of dialogue/cutscenes shouldn’t bother you. The graphics of this game are insane. Without a doubt some of the most incredible visuals achieved in a video game both in and out of gameplay. The performance isn’t perfect (drops below 60 at times) and there aren’t enough visual settings to satisfy everyone (no toggle for motion blur) but, overall, the state of the games graphics and performance is certainly good enough to play and enjoy at launch. The story is very anime like, in that I mean its a fantastical adventure that has romance, sacrifice, world changing events, epic battles, themes of loss and hope. Its over the top and knows what genre it is. This isn't a grounded realistic game; the title is “Final Fantasy” in case you forgot. I will say that this Final Fantasy’s world, while still being absolutely fantastical, is a bit more grounded than its predecessors, which adds a cool unique vibe to the game’s universe. I think for most fans of action games FFXVI will be an 8 or 9 out of 10. For fans of story driven games and action games it may be a 10/10. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.     GAMEPLAY is fun 10/10 and once you get all the abilities it just gets better. I finished the game but I still want to play again to try out a different build. It gets boring a bit but that's because I was trying to 100% the game so it kinda feels repetitive at the end (like every other game). The eikon battles are one of most cinematic boss fights I've ever seen in a video game. Better than any fromsoft games or GOW and that says a lot. The boss fights are literally the reason u should get this game. Dungeons are kinda bland like each dungeon has 3 mini bosses and 1 major boss. Dungeons are kinda small and all look the same the loots are crappy no reason to explore at all other than a THOUSAND of the same crafting materials that u probably won't use. And 2 gil(the currency). Crafting sucks here cause you'll probably only craft the purple gear cause their materials come from boss drops while they give u a lot of green gear recipes which are usually crappy.

    STORY wise 8/10 , if you're into politics, war and slavery, you would love this game. I couldn't really follow at times but that's where ATL (active time lore) comes in. In the middle of the cutscenes, whenever you feel lost you can pause the game and activate ATL and it really helps explaining the lore. Some warning though, I've heard a few who said ATL spoiled some major part of the story which shouldn't have happened yet. I guess a developer oversight. In between major boss fights are quite boring main quests. I understand its for the world building and the lore but I find myself getting sleepy with the dialogue which u probably shouldn't skip. I wanted to just get it over with and just rush to the next boss fight.

    Cons :
    The side quests 4/10 - Oh boy, there were some sleep inducing side quests. Just talk to npc A then B then to C. You kill some monsters and u go back to A. They never really stray from this formula even until the end of the game. Especially where they literally gave 10+ of these kinds of quests before the final boss. I was trying to 100% the game but I couldn't really bear the sleep inducing quests anymore and was just skipping through the dialogue. But there are really some emotional ones where u get to know more of the main characters. Some tearful moments too.

    The world 5/10 - Kinda empty? In the beginning you couldn't really venture out aside the main quest locations but it does open up quite abit further in the game but not too much. There were not any memorable locations here cause they feel kinda samey idk.

    The CHARACTERS are 7/10 some main characters they really should have fleshed them out more. Other than Clive, the characters feel a bit bland? The party members are real quiet in battle and they disappear during non main story quests. Some side characters like the leaders of each town were just downright boring. I hated doing their quests but you can't skip these cause they're main story quests.

    Overall 9/10. I LOVE this game the boss fights are just the best in video game history. Thats probably the reason u should play the game. Some cons but the pros outweighs the cons immensely.    … Expand

The experience was unreal, it made you feel every emotion possible. first off the story, its done perfectly. the pacing is great(granted you do some side-quests lol) and a it never gets boring and every time you stop playing it leaves you itching to play more and continue the stellar story
    next the side-quests. they are some of the best side-quests i've ever seen. often side-quests just become grindy and they never have much depth but those issues aren't here.
    the quests are beautiful, happy, sad, impactful, and most importantly it doesn't feel like a completely different game from the story when you do them. it blends together so well and you actually feel like the things you do make an impact on the characters and people of the game and the amount of dialogue random Npcs have is pretty incredible. their just fun to do as well, and the rewards you get are great like various upgrades or one where at the end of a side quest line you get the best sword in the game (not counting new game+ gear) so i definitely recommend doing them.
    next the music. Jesus christ someone went hard with these. its some of the best **** ive heard in my life and when i finished the game i literally saved like 25 songs to my personal playlist so that should give you a good idea on how good the music is. As for the ending song it will make you **** cry and feel hopeful at the same damn time.
    next is combat.
    now for older and newer ff fans no it is not turn based
    however it seems like its a little harder to make turn based work in modern games( excluding persona)
    i just don't think it would work here with this game and turn based isn't nearly as popular as it once was
    it just doesn't seem like what a-lot of modern players want
    turn based fanatics can go on about turn based is better or it fits more or it takes way more skill or blah blah games aren't about being good at it or about the game being insanely difficult its about having a fun beautiful experience and this has that in spades.
    to keep it kinda short the combat is **** awesome and epic. the combos you can pull of are satisfying and i adore the eikon powers and i'm betting and hoping you will too.
    dodging feels satisfying landing strong attacks feels satisfying and its just all around super fun
    it never gets boring either, certainly didn't for me.
    the boss fights are....this game has the best boss fights of anything ever
    towards the ending i got so excited about fighting the final boss i was **** up quick time events cause i was so excited and **** and i accidentally pressed a bunch of wrong buttons. (yes it has quicktime events however they arent annoying and were actually very satisfying to pull off)
    it helps that they are paired with the most godly music you'll ever hear so..yeah.
    they are satisfying and so damn fun to fight and its also an insane spectacle cause this games graphics are **** unreal. i took so many screenshots throughout the game cause it looks too good and idk how they did this but they did and its perfect.

    now we get to characters
    holy hell where to start... how about with clive our main guy.
    hes such a good main character youll find yourself loving his interactions and personality from the start.
    he actually shows emotion too like hell cry and laugh. albiet not a loud one but he will chuckle and smile frequently and he's very logical cause sometimes you'll find yourself saying his exact line before he can.
    every other character is like this too. you'll feel for them you'll love them you'll be happy and sad for them
    Clive certainly wont outshine everyone by a wide margin, in fact you may find yourself loving other characters more than him and i certainly wouldnt blame you for that.

    for example and lets just use one cause this is **** long enough already

    now i may have put spoilers but i will never spoil an entire ending but this had me **** crying and it was just so beautiful, the perfect ending to this game and probably anything ever.
    the songs that play at the end are literally some of the best songs you'll ever hear and the end of the story will change you.

    so thats my review
    go play this game RN
    its worth every damn penny
    just take your time and have fun with it and you wont be sorry

I have the audio and bass really loud when playing because it's just WOW. And I mean you can pet Torgal! I don't even want to get started on the combat system. It's action-packed and incredibly fun. The boss fights are varied and a highlight. Depending on your own fighting style, Clive's skillset can also be adjusted using the numerous skills that you can learn throughout the game. You don't even have to worry about "wrong" builds, you can experiment freely. The skill points can be freely distributed and reset. And the people who hate the combat system on principle and complain and give 0 points just because it's not turn-based and claim it's not FF. I do not understand you. If it's too hard for you, you can always equip rings to make it easier for you.

    I can say I'm a big FF fan and have played almost all parts of the series and also love turn-based battles but also action-heavy ones. And if you look at the other parts, the classic turn-based combat wasn't in every part. Furthermore, both in this part and in earlier parts, there is a fantasy world in which magic is worked, chocobos, a party, mogs, crystals, the espers (sometimes less important, sometimes more). In this part they were given an important and novel role. And I think that's a good thing. How can you seriously say it has nothing to do with an FF anymore? Final Fantasy as a series itself is always trying out new things and is constantly changing, then and now. And the (alleged fans) who are building something else simply have no idea about FF if you think it's not a "real FF". Don't be so defiant and get your emotions under control. Get involved in the game and give it a chance, Yoshi-P and his team put a lot of love into it and you can feel it. The more Eikons you get, the bigger your potential arsenal becomes.

    Graphics are just amazing. There is nothing to say. The visuals are incredible and the vistas sweeping and detailed.

    My single complaint is that there is no kind of mini map or map overlay. Either give us full map accessibility or no map.

    I am honestly puzzled by the extremely negative reviews. This game has either 10 and 9 reviews or 0. Absolute 0. The other guy says that the game is ok and puts ZERO as score.

    Consider then that we have either 10 or 0 and then....look at the game. Just by looking at it do you think it is 10 or 0? This thing with negative funboyism and flaming has to stop.     Amazing. The music, art, visuals, story-telling -- this game has it all. I've been playing for hours at a time for the past few days and haven't been able to put my controller down as of yet. Yoshida and his team really put everything into this and it shows. More games need to take note -- a must play.

    The game is top-notch! The graphics are perfect, the gameplay smart and engaging, the sounds to the point, music score brilliant. Eikon fights are EPIC, look and feel perfect. If you are looking for an engaging game, with a great story, the right mix of cutscenes, and action you are in for a treat! Don't miss this masterpiece.
