    This is a a really good FF Game at it's core.

    - Story is well done and the VA works is consistent enough that it keeps you drawn in. - Combat is far more than "2 buttons" that people clearly havent experimented with. Doing epic juggle combos with Torgal and swapping through 3 weapon types feels great. - The boss battles both normal and Kaiju feel epic and have great pacing. The    This is a a really good FF Game at it's core.

    - Story is well done and the VA works is consistent enough that it keeps you drawn in.
    - Combat is far more than "2 buttons" that people clearly havent experimented with. Doing epic juggle combos with Torgal and swapping through 3 weapon types feels great.
    - The boss battles both normal and Kaiju feel epic and have great pacing. The cinematics QTEs of it all is fun to watch and play. I have never seen such an aggressive way of killing a ninja but it sure as hell felt cool to see and portrayed a different way of ending a fight on a boss than ever before.
    - Music is perfection and properly catches the tonal vibes every single time.

    Genuine cons, but not enough to bring down the score
    Lack of post-story content. It's certainly a finished product with NG+ potentially being the extra content to do. Post game boils down to simiulated score attack and Hunts if not completed.    … Expand

    This game is beyond great. The story hooks you in the very beginning and doesn't let go. The characters are well-acted and well-voiced. The music, as is always the case with Final Fantasy games, is perfection. No, it's not your turn based Final Fantasy combat, but it's better because of it. Every fight, even the ones against regular enemies is fun.

    Boss fights are taken to another level    This game is beyond great. The story hooks you in the very beginning and doesn't let go. The characters are well-acted and well-voiced. The music, as is always the case with Final Fantasy games, is perfection. No, it's not your turn based Final Fantasy combat, but it's better because of it. Every fight, even the ones against regular enemies is fun.

    Boss fights are taken to another level and have an epic feel to them. Whether its an Eikon battle or Clive vs. Big Baddie, you need to learn patterns and react quickly. There are also a lot of ways to customize your play with different Eikon abilities and charms.

    Speaking of charms, the game is accessible to anyone. If you aren't great with action games and just want the story, you can put on charms to help you auto-dodge, heal, etc. If you want a challenge, leave them all off. You don't need to have ever played any other Final Fantasy games to hop into this one, but there are a lot of fun easter eggs if you have played the rest.

    The visuals are stunning. From the cities, to character models, to lush forests, it's a joy to just take in the scenery. The people downvoting the game likely have never played it and are engaging in petty "console wars." There is almost nothing not to like about this game if you are a fan of JRPGs and/or action style games. I've put 20 hours into it so far, and can't wait to play more.    … Expand

    10 de 10 sin ninguna duda, lo disfrute de inicio a fin. Parte fuerte y sigue así hasta la mitad donde empieza a caer pero en sí ya es espectacular. Nada más que decir que la espera valió la pena, y en unos meses a Starfield en PC.


    Un buen año con juegos como Final Fantasy XVI, Tloz totk y esperemos que bethesta no la cage con Starfield.

    Easily the best Final Fantasy in a long while. The game really shines during the huge boss battles. I haven't seen gameplay and scope this impressive since God of War 3. The story, visuals, gameplay and music are all beyond anything seen this gen. The game really is impressive.

    This game is an absolute masterpiece in story telling,music, Cinematography, Gameplay,polish and fluidity.     Jugadas mas de 20 hrs al juego desde el lanzamiento, me he encontrado con un titulo maduro, divertido y épico. Los giros argumentales están muy bien hilados, los diálogos son interesantes y los NPC siempre tienen algo que contarnos, gráficamente es precioso, los mapas tienen unos detalles sin precedentes, los efectos están muy bien logrados y la iluminación...eso requeriría mas de 10000Jugadas mas de 20 hrs al juego desde el lanzamiento, me he encontrado con un titulo maduro, divertido y épico. Los giros argumentales están muy bien hilados, los diálogos son interesantes y los NPC siempre tienen algo que contarnos, gráficamente es precioso, los mapas tienen unos detalles sin precedentes, los efectos están muy bien logrados y la iluminación...eso requeriría mas de 10000 caracteres para describir lo bien que acompaña al juego. Los personajes están escritos con mucho peso y personalidad.

    Absolute masterpiece. The game has some of the best boss fights to ever exist in GAMING. They are cinematic, engaging and jaw dropping. All the while, in between are some of the most gripping and dark storytelling the medium has been graced with.

    Amazing story with tight combat. Music by Soken is amazing. Excited to try Final Fantasy Mode as well. Fans will be upset that it's not like the old FF games, but I love the scale of every fight.

    Probably the best Final Fantasy ever made. The gameplay is amazing, the story is extremely compelling and the music is extremely beautiful. Yoshi-P and his team pulled off and amazing feat. :)

    One of the greatest final fantasy stories ever written. Huge influence from xiv, great characters and great combat. Few performance issues on framerate mode but nothing serious and probably will be resolve in future update. If you are a ff fan and especially ff xiv fan just play it!!!

    This game is amazing, from the characters and story to the soundtrack. As a big fan of the series, I must say I'm so very impressed, definitely one of the best games of the franchise.
    I truly don't understand all those 0 reviews.. I mean I do, they are all from a) FF purists b) SJW and c) non-FF fans who say they are because they drown in nostalgia.

    Great game. Miles ahead of the last main line final fantasy game. Apart from the bit boring side quest the scenery, battles , cutscenes, story, soundtrack, how the story is not afraid to go dark, worth every penny!!

It is dark and sad and sometimes really funny. It makes you care about the world you're playing in. The story is clearly the focus and it shows. Stunning visually and gameplay I personally love the combat. Love the weaving between the Eikon elements, it can be a little unresponsive at times but nothing that impedes your enjoyment of the game. This part might be the most contentious between the player base for sure. But overall this game is a spectacle. It's a ride from start to finish! Totally final fantasy.… Expand

    As an FFXIV player I can say I got what I expected. S tier story, S tier music, S tier characters, I kinda suck at action combat but I got much better over time and the learning curve and progression is fun and meaningful. The peak story moments which gave me goosebumps in FFXIV are much more enhanced in this game. Cried multiple times, cheered on the characters when they were struggling.As an FFXIV player I can say I got what I expected.     A great installment with a new proposal, the magic is felt in the game, it is a most pleasant experience, the game works very well for me, I have not had performance problems, graphically it is beautiful and I am enjoying the experience in Japanese n.n

    Addicting and fun, one of the best rpgs I've played in years.
    Combat is brilliant, visuals are outstanding, soundtrack is good. the story is very interesting and overall decent - although it does have some pacing issues later on. the characters are also very interesting.

    This game is very good, it has one of the best Final Fantasy stories, the best soundtrack, the Eikons fights are memorable and legendary, the combat in this game is a fusion of DMC with FF and it was incredible, this game is different from the standard FF but still it has the soul and heart of Final fantasy, I just loved every time spent in this game

    This is the closest 10 out of 10 since Bloodborne. 8 years later. Sidequests are kinda bad, reason why is not a proper 1010. Everything else is just close to perfection.

    -"The game isn't an RPG" Sure the game doesn't allow you to fully customize your parties abilities, but you can change out Clives eikon based abilities to what you desire, and there are plenty of abilities to combine, it may not be a classic RPG system, but the elements are still there.

    -"Bad pacing" This is somewhat understandable about 40% through the game, but the story just had a pivotal moment, and can't maintain a super engaging/exciting story directly after something like that, no game or show can. Some people even go as far to say cutscenes arent skippable, which is just plain out false, you just need to pause and hold triangle...

    A very good game. Combat is fun, story is solid, and music is great! It’s not the best Final Fantasy title by any means.. But it’s certainly better than XV and XIII. A solid B tier game. My only gripes are the lack of an actual party, and too many cutscenes in the first act.

    Serve como uma ótima porta de entrada para a franquia, tem uma história incrível, com referências a Game of Thrones, ótimas boss fights, combate muito prazeroso com um ótimo sistema de habilidades e um dos melhores visuais do PS5. Alguns contras que incomodam um pouco a experiência, muito fácil, missões secundárias tediosas e um modo foto muito pobre com 0 recursos.

    For me personally the best FF experience I've had in the last 20 years and a step in the right direction.

    The combat is challenging and you need some time to get into but once you're there it's so rewarding to make those flashy combos.

    The story is a blockbuster to watch and that's exactly what I want from a FF title.

    This game is truly a work of art. Yoshida brought us yet another profound story with many diverse aspects. People complaining about the amount of cutscenes just don’t have the patience to enjoy the rich story and lore. 9/10 because although the side quests bring interesting perspectives, they aren’t always that fun to do.

    Haven't finished the game yet, but I'm enjoying It a lot. The graphics are reeally good, the combat system is pretty good (there's an action mode, don't equip the first rings or your character is going to play for you), and the story is awesome. I saw people complaining about the cutscenes... If like me you enjoy RPGs and their stories, you're gonna like It. If you don't, go play EldenHaven't finished the game yet, but I'm enjoying It a lot. The graphics are reeally good, the combat system is pretty good (there's an action mode, don't equip the first rings or your character is going to play for you), and the story is awesome. I saw people complaining about the cutscenes... If like me you enjoy RPGs and their stories, you're gonna like It. If you don't, go play Elden Ring and you'll be fighting with 0 cutscenes the whole game.
    I really like the Final Fantasy franchise, and really enjoyed the turn based fights. But it isn't turn based anymore for a long time... Even with FF XVII Remake. This is no different.

The combat is soooo good and addicting and, while this has a darker story, it is very thought provoking and takes risks. Characters are fantastic and voice acting is superb. They are angry that the franchise is evolving (combat system, party system, etc.). This game is very divisive, as was FFXV. However, though their opinion may be valid, I recommend that you try the game regardless. This is a FANTASTIC game. If you like story and good combat, this is for you. Don’t let these scores deter you from trying. Form your own decision, like I did. This may not be your Final Fantasy of the old days, but this is still a great game!… Expand

    The only thing against is so far (about 10 hours in) is that it isn't really open world or an RPG. More DMC than FF. But get last that and it's an excellent game.

The combat gets a little confusing because of the attack effects that distract you, but it adds difficulty. Yoshi p truly demostrated how video games are art too.     The story is not predictable as some have said in the reviews. Can believe most kids are playing fortnite, please buy this game. 10 out of 10. I am in half of the game, and it will get so much better i am sure. Second review:
    Review update to clarify some comments i have seen against the game:

    Story being slow paced: did harry potter movies were always fast paced? Lol? Is called building up the story, characters etc. And final fantasy 16 did a good job at that.

    Predictable story: i admit that when clive was about to being killed at times, it was predictable that he was going to be saved. But is obvious that will happen, he is the main character! They never die unless context is given for his death. (Something the last of us 2 failed to do).

    Not the same as other ff games: i have been checking out the scores of other past ff games, and the only that is well received is final fantasy 9. So is not true that ff 16 is bad when compared to other ff games. However i do admit a change is never well received by others (zelda becoming open world and no more good history, i will never play it again)
    So ff16 being different should affect someone depending on how much of a fan he is to the series. I never played a ff game before, but i have played nier and dmc 3, and ff16 is similar in gameplay.

    No open world: is up to you to decide, i personally hate them because i am fan of games with a history and character development, good voice acting, and music. I dont have time to explore every inch of a map.

    Side missions being boring: at first yes, but once you reach the capital the side missions get more sad and add context to the story and how people are mistreated.

    Score is a solid 9. Is way more elaborated than those recent crappy zelda games, i promise you that.

    9 out of 10, not less than 8 Buy it! Support yoshi p, he and yoko taro are what keeps the game industry alive!

    Played the demo and have NEVER played a final fantasy game before. First, the writing, narratives, and cinematics are wow, awesome, best i have ever seen in any video game i have played. The gameplay seems simple though, problaby repetitive, and the enemies are easy to kill. The music is wow, awesome. Will not better than nier automata, but is very nice.

    The plot is very interesting, but too pretentious for my taste.

    Mmmm idk, i give it a 8. It costs 70 dollars, but botw costs 70 dollars too and it is the same game lol. Mmmm if you have a good surround system and tv then yea buy it!. Else just watch it on youtube. But again i played the demo, maybe the game picks up better in gameplay and enemy difficulty after the demo?

    Performance mode does bad in cities but runs solid 60 in combat.
    If you really love the combat use performance mode if not use graphic mode.

    Just started playing FF16 and it is great. I’m not kidding, it’s REALLY great. Great gameplay, fantastic graphics, a intriguing story, great mechanics, and overall, if there is any Final Fantasy game that you should start playing other than FF7 Remake and FF15, this is your best bet. I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

Although 15 was a weaker overall game, it had lower lows but higher highs, I look back fondly on the bonds between the characters as something quite special.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I recommend to play this game twice. Once story based, and then the Final Fantasy mode. In the story mode you’re going to experience the world of FF16. Do every side quest. It’s really interesting. Then in Final Fantasy Mode you can experience the games main story line only. It’s great and extremely sad. It’s literally a story about people fighting to live their lives as they want to. There are only a few happy moments for them. The rest of the story is just sadness and death. I experienced this more, while playing the second time and only playing the main story quests. That’s why I recommend it.

    The gameplay is great and it only gets demanding in Final Fantasy mode. But with new game plus it’s still doable. A great game. Especially for people who have never played a Final Fantasy Game before. And for people who loves game of thrones.    … Expand

    A great game, what stuck me the most in this FF was the story! Story worthy of arresting you to know the outcome. The battle mode pleased me even running away from the standard turn-based duels. One of the items that frustrated me was the dropped frames and my ps5 literally overheated, but I still managed to platinum the game. Needless to say, the Eikons' battles are epic.

    I played the first Final Fantasy games when they came out. When they stopped getting released on Nintendo consoles I had no access to them. Have played the newer ones on Playstation and I have to say that this one is the best of the newer games (after FF10). The music, the graphics, the story, the cadence... everything about this game is Final Fantasy. Very polished and enjoyable. ThereI played the first Final Fantasy games when they came out. Along with the story, the characters are just as captivating. Clive is probably the most surprising character because from the outside looking in you think he’s the typical Square Enix protagonist who has this chip on his shoulder but in reality while he holds so much resentment for the sins he’s committed he is still a hopeful character that pushes on for a better world and cares for the ones close to him. Cid is the most fun character because of his quick wit. Then there is Jill who you know she has done bad things and Clive’s road for atonement is as much hers as it is his. They game even goes as far as making you hate a character because the character is supposed to be hated as well as characters you feel sorry for because of the position that they are in. The game is linear storywise, which isn’t a bad thing and the world being zoned instead of being completely open world really helps. One big problem with open world games is you get the story started then next thing you know you fell off the beaten path completely. Early in the game your map is more of a pathway but it does open up fairly quickly and the zones are pretty large. The combat system starts out restrictive but once you open up more Eikon abilities you have more to play with and when you master abilities you can mix and match your abilities no matter what Eikon you have assigned. The Eikon’s are the massive summons of the game and while you can only use Ifrit in the Eikon battles you are able to drawn upon 8 different Eikon abilities throughout the game and you draw your magic from those abilities. The use of the Eikon abilities is similar to that of the Eidolon abilities in Final Fantasy IX where you use their ability. Side quests can be a mixed bag. Yes there are quite a few fetch quests which in modern day RPGs that’s what they are but there are some that land you some items that you may want to make it through your journey. But that being said all the side quests do add important context to the world and it’s people. As far as creatures go you do get a lot of you classics like Bombs, Chocobos, Ahrimans, Adamantoise, Malboros, dragons, and so on and so forth. As far as difficulty it falls in line with the final fantasy franchise so don’t go in expecting souls like difficulty. As far as gear it’s your typical final fantasy style where you get better equipment, you don’t use the other equipment unless you reforge it. Some of the accessories buff your stats or lower the cooldown time for Eikon abilities. Finally the score for the game is magnificent. Find the Flame makes the hairs stand up every single time I hear it. I put it up there with classic final fantasy themes like One-Winged Angel, Liberi Fatali, Apocalypsis Noctics, The Red Wings theme, Terra’s Theme, and the Final Fantasy theme. Hands down Final Fantasy XVI can easily be considered a contender for game of the year and if you have a PS5 I highly recommend picking it up.… Expand

    Ya voy a la última misión del juego, o eso creo y lo he encontrado fenomenal. Las primeras no se, 30 horas? Eran sorpresas y sorpresas de cosas novedosas que se superaban una tras otra. Tenía mucho que no jugaba un juego diferente e innovador. Espero que el final no me decepcione.
