The world is filled with love and attention and it's providing the Player such a immensely rich lore that it seems just mindblowing how much quality content is in this game, the story serves it's purpose and reaches masterpiece level of writing in the later expansions, and that combined with the excellent gameplay that progressively get's more deeper and enjoyable makes this one of the best games on the market or even in history since it's extremly successful and the most played mmo in earth right now while using a paid subscription model ,and if your still unsure about this game then; have you tried the expanded Free Trial of the critically acclaimed MMORPG FFXIV?

This game is amazing fun as a huge fan of games where players need to socialise and or cooperate to overcome challenges. The community is mostly quite positive and fun to interact with. There is so much freedom of how you want to play. And this isn't just in combat style either. You could just spend hours playing with friends at the in-game casino. Huge amount of hard content for those who love punishing themselves and truly working well as a team. Huge story to chew through too.
    If you love Final Fantasy and MMOs then I recommend giving this a try!

    The difference between the ps5 version to what it was 10 years ago is very noticeable. The load times are almost instant and the resolutions has been upscaled with new UI art. This isn't a new FF game and the thought of redesigning an entire decade old MMO for a new platform is too costly and unrealistic. The game is still supported on a ps3 afaik so expectations should be within that realm.

    The entire base game and first expansion are free to play now and the main story quest gives a ton of experience to propel you through. I do wish more was done to tone down the boring filler content between expansions though and I am sure many players drop off at those points.

    The game content, combat mechanics and story improve past the base game. As expected, the base game content relevancy is fairly low since there's been a decade of content since it's release. However, the core of it being a RPG driven MMO is there. I do wish I could do the story in a group though. If you want to play a game with story with your friends you'll be forced to unparty all the time to complete story content solo.

    The auto target mechanics on a controller are also terrible. There is no target closest enemy button on the controller. This is noticeable because half the time you want to target an enemy you will instead target an ally or NPC who is within closer proximity. This might not seem like a lot but that's an additional 2*n button presses every time you want to target an enemy which adds up. It also interferes with whatever maximum DPS output you would like to have going.    … Expand

It took me a while to figure out how to actually navigate the map and find my next search on it so the beginning was frustrating.
    I think a Realm Reborn is exciting but I feel the story so far lacks a true goal and stake for our character.
    It feels like our character is just going with the flow by running around and helping everyone else. I do enjoy helping all these NPCs. I’m still waiting for something major to happen in the story. It had some pretty cool cut scenes so far.
