Divine Knockout is great fun and a fresh take on the Smash Bros style of brawler. It’s quite limited at the moment, there’s only six arenas and eight fighters at launch, but hopefully the makers at Red Beard Games will improve that over time with promised new content. And there’s definitely room for a single player platform story in future too. Well worth a go in the chilly winter months if you love a bit of button bashing action.

The idea of turning Smash Bros into a 3rd person game is great and the gameplay is action packed, it's a shame that on the graphics' side the characters appear empty and uninspired.

I played it without looking at any reviews and have enjoyed it so far with no real complaints.

I can't attest to the matchmaking problems that players experienced when it first released (Steam reviews), because everything feels quite fair. I have played about 4 hours and I'll definitely play some more. The graphics are easy on the eyes, the movements is smooth, and the characters are fun. Like in Super Smash, there is a learning curve and you do need to know your opponents moves (and your own strengths and weaknesses) to get any good. This takes time, so if you're looking to play for something casual, then you should play 3v3 and not the other modes.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the levelling of characters, since they gain minor buffs every few levels, which could make matchmaking very uneven, although I have experienced getting my *** kicked from level 1 characters vs my lvl 6. Time will tell if this is a real issue.

I have read some reviews now on Steam and some complaints were that there was not enough content (How damn spoiled are gamers nowadays btw...). For a new live-service game I think it's okay. I expect there to come much more content in the future if/when more people begin to play it, especially since, well, it is a live-service game with 'seasons', etc.

Lastly, the reviews on here are very unfair, almost like these players lost a few rounds and simply rage-reviewed. It's unfortunate because this game has a solid base to become a popular game for years to come.

Overall, it is a decent game to platinum and have fun in short term. Expand

The game is kinda fun but very bloated.
    Almost everything cost real money.
Currency won in game is useless.

This is the video game version of you being joe Montana on a 2022 version of playing on the Cleveland browns. This game desperately needs to make the matches fair. I've already deleted this game because it became more of a headache to play than it was fun.. Expand
