No joke. This game is crazy fun. You might think it's boring but just as soon as you get your hands on it you may never stop playing it. Thankfully the devs has promised more game modes in the fututre which is what the game needs now TBH. A really fun game overall

Amazing experience. It takes the single-player formula and applies it in a multiplayer arena perfectly. All characters are a blast to play with, and the chaos from the matches are just too much fun.

It's a simple, but fun experience delivered in small bites between matches. While on a surface level it may seen too simplistic the gameplay itself it's addicting, and hooks you up constantly wanting more and more.
My only complaints as of now it's some of the built into characters challenges being far too unrealistic (like blocking 300 wumpas / scoring without being hit once a total of 7 times) and the lack of repeat characters / roles restrictions (fighting against 3 blockers while someone else it's backdooring scoring it's quite painful).
For the people divided about it - give it a try! Seriously. The game it's only half the price of a standard release (29.99) and it's definitely gonna have some serious support similar to Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled (given how they already announced a roadmap showing new characters, maps and game modes).
For the people review bombing this game without even giving it a try yourself, solely based off pure childhood nostalgia about Crash Bash or against the new Art Style of crash Bandicoot, i have 2 things to say:
    1) Grow up. The vast majority of y'all are adults who first experienced Crash Bandicoot in the nineties going mental on socials over something that it's either not your cup of tea or solely because it isn't a copy paste of your past nostalgic memories (like remasters / remakes) .
    2) Crash Bash wasn't, and isn't nowhere near as good as your child self remembers. Seriously, try to play it now in 2023, try to fully complete the game (200%) by yourself and come back here to tell me how you feel about it.
Huge congratulations to the developer team! You can feel and tell they love and care about Crash Bandicoot and really put their time and effort into it, from Crash Bandicoot players to Crash Bandicoot players. This game reeks potential, and i am all here for the ride.

It’s a unique take on the Crash Bandicoot franchise, and unlike other spin off games such as Crash Team Racing, all the characters in this game have their own moves and abilities, which adds a substantial amount of replayability to the game. I know it looks simple from the surface, but the game is far more interesting than just collecting fruits. There are also the relics, which are used to activate certain relics stations around the map that spice up the gameplay, and each map has its unique stations with all sorts of abilities and power ups. I haven’t even talked about the gem pads, which when successfully activated will grant a bonus amount of Wumpas each time you deposit some at your team’s bank for a certain amount of time. This makes capturing gem pads chaotic and thrilling because everyone wants that juicy bonus. Last thing is that if you don’t like collecting, then you can always fight and stop the red team from depositing Wumpas, or defend your own bank from blockers of the red team. All these elements together create split second decisions, like: Do you focus on collecting? Or securing gem pads? Or getting rid of the blocker who’s on your team’s bank? Or blocking the red team at their bank because they’re so close to winning? And much more. The matches are fast paced, and they can can range from 2 minutes and upwards to 8 minutes. This makes every match feels different enough, and it also makes it accessible to someone like me who isn’t skilled enough at online games especially ones where you have to play for +15 minutes such as battle royale games. I’m already 13 hours in, and I feel like I can go for more than double that time ✅ Expand

This game recaptures all of the old wonder of playing ctr or crash bash back in the PS1 era. Absolutely amazing starting smidgen of starting content, which is soon to be further added to. Fairly balanced- but still retaining fun moment-to-moment gameplay- Complete with a nice handful of starting characters, this game is sure to continue to improve and keep being fun in the far future!

Crash Team Rumble is genuinely one of the funnest games I've ever played. I already have over 60 hours on it because it's so addicting. The core aspect of the PvP in this game is very satisfying. The only things holding it back from being a 10 is poor optimization. Menus and invites break sometimes which is frustrating. The content is bare bones at launch with only 8 characters. I recognize that they need to do more to fix the longevity of this game. The #1 priority for them should be to add a ranked mode for people to climb up. Also not sure why they have their quickplay listed as "competitive" when no other game would label it like that. Expand

The game is really fun. Like REALLY fun. It's addictive. It's compact. It's tight. Didn't expect any less from the same dev team behind Crash 4. Following this game for nearly 2 years, and finally seeing it out in the open is a heartwarming thing.

The game, while only having one core mode for now, is still kept fresh with the wide selection of maps and the 8 unique heroes in the base game (with 2 more coming with Ripper Roo and N.Gin in Season 1). One of the maps, Surreal Summit, is based on my favourite Crash 4 level, Off-Balance. So no surprise that I adore this map in particular. Even with a rubberbandy online, you are still able to play and successfully play your role without much issues. That is a step-up from Nitro-Fueled's neglected Online. While the game has a Battlepass, it still paves way for good cosmetics both on the free and premium sides. Solid base roster. Solid game. Solid all around. It may not be the next Fortnite, Apex, COD, Overwatch, or Fall Guys, but it has a really solid foundation as a Multiplayer Crash game that'll just get better with time hopefully.

My only negatives is that I wish that private matches also rewarded XP for leveling up heroes and the battlepass, as relying on matchmaking only is a bit lacking and tedious in that aspect. Maybe halfing the rewards for that might be what balances it out. For me, in order for it to be a 9 or 10, it needs about 3-4 more maps, and 4-6 new heroes for it to REALLY be worthwhile. And game modes. More modes are important for this kind of game. Introduce permanent new modes that are fun and spicy, and you have yourself a game that people can re-review basically and give it an 8, 9 or 10 even. Well-made game. Just needs a bit more to be chewed fully. Not saying it's unfinished or unbaked like other live service games that have far less content, but there is something special here with the brand new foundation for Crash Bandicoot Multiplayer. It doesn't need to be Bash remake. It just needs to be fun, unique, enticing, and passionate. That's how I can explain what the developer, TFB, are.

Crash Team Rumble is an experiment with the Crash Bandicoot brand that went very well. No match is the same as the last, and there is a prevailing sense of fun. Not to mention, there are plenty of incentives to keep you playing. However, as a fully multiplayer title, only time will tell if it will last or be forgotten.

Crash Team Rumble feels a bigger-than-average swing for the series, but one that — at this point — ultimately misses. That said, there are updates on the horizon, but I’m worried that it won’t be able to break away from more unbalanced characters and a general lack of content. Maybe Crash Team Rumble will end up like Fall Guys or Rocket League and go free-to-play at some point, but as it stands I’d have to recommend waiting for the game to bulk up a little before diving in.
