Clean Up Earth is a project with a heart of gold, but its mechanics are fragile. The idea of combining relaxation with real-life activism, transforming in-game progress into actual donations to NGOs, is laudable and gives the title exceptional educational potential. However, stripped of its noble purpose, Magic Pockets’ game struggles to compete with the genre’s giants. Crushed by a lackluster aesthetic and sound, and weighed down by gameplay that quickly becomes repetitive, Clean Up Earth is an adventure that risks quickly tiring solo players, finding its true meaning only when played cooperatively or as an educational tool.
