    One of my wife's favorite games. Something we didn't expect to be good, ending up giving her hours of free enjoyment. The use of the new controller is phenomenal adding a new layer to all the simple tasks you are given. She kept stopping to tell me to look at something cute, and as I sat back to listen I noticed the music was very good and quite catchy.     Really enjoyed what I could only describe as a "tech demo" platformer game, packed with lots of playstation easter eggs, amazing dualsense feedback, and a cute little robot that might as well be the new playstation mascot! I only wished it had a coop game mode, or a full stand alone game, for a free and pre-installed game it is a must play!

    Fantastic little game. I've moved to ps5 with some games in the middle of my first walkthrough and got completely trapped in it. Watch dogs and borderlands have to wait.

    It is a very fun platformer game. It perfectly showcases the PS5 controller new features. Walking with Astro through different surfaces (sand, ice, metal, etc.) is such a joy as you can somehow experience the textures through the combination of haptic feedback and the sound coming out from the control. If you are a PlayStation fan, the game will also give you a bit of nostalgia as youIt is a very fun platformer game. It perfectly showcases the PS5 controller new features.     This sort of felt like an interactive museum. Really cool what they've done and a great way to show pride in their past and now present hardware. Makes me feel good about my investment in a ps5.

    This was such an amazing experience demonstrating the new controller. I really hope that a lot of games in the future will utilize the new feature the way that this game did.

    This game is a truly masterpiece. Such a big surprise! Good platformer, Astrobot is adorable, the music is very good, the graphics are great and it brings tons of nostalgia and fun... for free!

    Le tengo q dar un 10. Xq es algo nuevo en sensaciones y tacto por decirlo de alguna manera por las funciones que trae el mando haptico. Las vibraciones en el mando se notan por cada superficie que pisas, los gatillos al manejar naves, monos y el robot “muellito” me parece algo increible. Encima es gratis. Y el juego es super dibertido. Gracias.

    Muy buen juego que viene ya preinstalado en PS5, exprime al máximo el mando dualsense. Todo el juego es pura nostalgia recorriendo todas las generaciones de PlayStation y muchos guiños a sus juegos, sinceramente increíble.

    The game is quite short with around 4-5hrs and gets a bit repetitive over time but for being free and created with much love it is a perfect entry point for the new generation. It showcases the year long effort from Sony put into the whole Playstation franchise and also shows how incredibly potent the new Dual Sense controller is.

    I consider this game a perfect one for youngster and old ones. It is just very wholesome and I bet 99% will enjoy their time with this game. Just be aware of that the constant effects on controller side will wear the battery down rather fast. Dont let yourself confused this is no comparison to the standard usage of other games and cannot be compared.

    Enjoy next-gen on the PS5, dont miss out this free game.

    A beautiful game that pays homage to the Sony Playstation brand. It makes superb use of the new Dual Sense Controller shipped with the PS5. It's an awesome game with great replay value and above all, it's completely free and included with the new PS5!

    It also has some really nice and fun easter eggs!

    The game is the perfect magical trip around the years of playstation, since 1994. The game is funny, full of references and show us a lot about what dual sense is capable of! Simply perfect for a pre installed game!!!

    I just platinumed this game and all I can say is, WOW!
    I now understand why everyone that tried this out prior to the PS5 launch said that it can't be explained, you have to experience it.
    How they showcased everything on what the DualSense can do, it's just amazing.
    The game it self is fun, nice looking platformer and I hope to see more of Astro in the future.

    Amazing game to be the first one played on PS5. It's enjoyable, funny and beautiful. Great showcase of dualsense that let's you discover all new functions of the controller. Every single option and secret gives you a huge satisfaction (personally I loved the idea for collectibles). It's much more than a showcase demo game. My first platinum trophy on PS5

The haptics feedback and adaptive triggers, paired with controller sound and game design work really well. You get a good enough time to get used to your new controller and get a taste of what to expect from the rest of the console features. Fast load times make going for the platinum a great experience and the few hints are good enough to keep you collecting stuff until the last few trophies that might require some online guide help.
    By the time you have finished the game, you will feel at home with how the new controller work and thus use and implementation in other games will feel less than a novelty and more like a welcomed addition to your gaming experience, and that is great. You'll be less distracted by how things work and will be able to concentrate on just enjoying the experience.
    Not a 10 as it is not a legendary masterpiece, but it does the job it set out to do extremely well and it is a must play for all new console owners. And the speed run challenges are great and might keep you coming back for a few minutes/hours at a time to grab back your #1 place among your friends.    … Expand

    I was not expecting much from this game, but... i think this is currently the best game on Playstation 5. This is the perfect example of what Nintendo should have bundled their Switch with on launch instead of selling that godawful 1-2 switch game. And I sincerely applaud developers of this game for making such a great job.

    There are 4 worlds, 4 levels in each world, and a pretty hardcore final boss you have to find.
    It's a strong platformer with multiple levels of different game mechanics to keep things different.
    Thers a ton to explore and find, and the platforming is fun.

    I honestly wasn't expecting so much but I've been playing the game since I got my PS4 at lunchtime and it took hours to beat, trying to get all the coins, artifacts and puzzle pieces. I thought I finished everything there was until I explored the homeworld trying to find the source of the roaring, the final boss was was badass, it took me a few tries but I feel very accomplished in beating the game. The credits were very clever, and the one more thing was great. I also found the little vending machine and bought as many of the artifacts and puzzle pieces I could.

    I don't think I've ever felt so pleased with a tech demo/game that came with the console before.

    I ended up going back to it the next day to platinum it. No regrets.    … Expand

    Honestamente no esperaba nada de este juego, ni lo pensaba jugar, pero wow! es muy buen juego, falla totalmente en dificultad y en duración, pero en cuanto a experiencia, diseño de niveles, jugabilidad wow! me encantó me la pase muy bien y me hizo muy feliz, en cuanto al uso del dual sense espectacular.

    I really don’t think Sony realise how great AstroBot is. It is simply flawless, imaginative, polished and perfect. They really need to make more of these, immersive for kids and adults alike. I’d give it 11 if I could.

    Super gutes Spiel, für einen sanften Einstieg auf die neue Konsolengeneration. Bin mit allen Sony Konsolen aufgewachsen, und diese Easter Eggs in dem Game sind einfsch der Hammer. Ich habe bei einigen Sounds Gänsehaut bekommen.

    The game is a great example of how the controller can be utilised in gaming. I found myself numerous times smiling at what I was 'feeling' happening. It is a charming demo that oozes nostalgia and celebrates what the playstation was and has become. A must play, and a pleasure to play.

So catching and fitting for each level. After growing up with the PS1 and owning every Playstation console - it brought back wonderful, nostalgic memories. Incredible game and it's fantastic that it isOne of my favourite platformers ever! Great showcase for the new Dualsense controller and introduction to the next generation of gaming. Best of all it’s a real show case of the features from DualSense controller. It’s hard to describe but as soon as you pick up the controller and you traverse through the different environments you can feel the difference.

    Desde que inicias a jugar empiezan las sorpresas. Sin duda aprovecha al máximo las capacidades del DualSense. Es una aventura corta pero entretenida que lleva por un paseo lleno de nostalgia para aquellos que llevan mucho tiempo siendo fieles seguidores de PlayStation. Me hubiera gustado que fuera más largo. Espero que implementen mecánicas similares en los juegos de ps5 que vayan a salir.

This is fitting for the themes of Astro's Playroom, a nostalgia trip of over 25 years of PlayStation and a demo for all the new features of the PS5. A free pack-in game is a new feature by today's standards.

    The gameplay in Astro's Playroom is perfect. Astrobot has a laser jump that will float him across gaps and destroy enemies. (Astrobot is a vicious little killing machine.) This makes the platforming rather forgiving, and adept players will be able circumvent obvious routes to speed through areas. Astrobot also has a punch and a charge up spinning attack that is always fun to watch. Some areas have weapons like a bow and arrow or a chain gun.

    The world is rich with activity. I truly have fun watching my family navigate this game space. The world is overflowing with little bots who get into trouble, re-enact memorable scenes from PlayStation games, and interact with Astrobot. Few platformers have this kind of attention to detail. The total effect is simply "wow".

    For people who play inverted like me, you can invert the Y or X access in the PS5's main system menu. I think this option was omitted from Astro's Playroom because Sony wants you to find that system toggle. The game has a functional quality to not only show you the advantages of the DualSense controller, but also the gameplay features. To be fair to Sony, functions such as 3D motion controls and the touch bar were already in the DualShock 4 controller. Game developers really need to start bringing their control schemes to the modern era.

    The climbing section of Astro's Playroom is the perfect example of how innovative a game can be. Astrobot climbs into a monkey robot suit (one of 3 robot suits in the game) and has to use a combination of the left and right triggers and the motion controls to climb up a mountain that is studded with handholds and hanging bars. I have never been so taxed to move in a PlayStation game and I loved it. Climbing in games vacillates between a slow moving chore and the game auto-climbing your character up walls while you hold down X. Astrobot's Playroom is the first time I have seen climbing get gamefide.

    In addition to being an utter joy to play, Astrobot is also a quick Platifnum trophy for those who care about that kind of thing. I usually have disdain for in-game collectibles though I am a completionist at heart and if the burden of collectibles is not too high, I may go for it. The collectibles in Astro's Playroom fill up a showroom of 5 generations of PlayStation gear surround by giant murals. The number of collectibles is not only management, you have a sense of something to show for your effort.

    All-in-all, Astro's Playroom is a must play. When you buy a PS5, you may be excited to get into one of the many AAA games for PS5. Wait on those. Soak in all the goodness of Astro's Playroom first.    … Expand

    I expected just a short demo of dualsense, and i ended up smiling the entire game. This game is a masterpiece, even just being a "tech demo". It feels like a crime to get this game absolutely free!

    Astro's Playroom isn't just an introduction to the PS5, and the DualSense controller. It is also a nod to the great history of PlayStation. But within that, is a great platformer. Good visuals, tight controls, nostalgic sounds with some iconic soundtrack notes. Astros Playroom is a very good game that could have been sold for 19.99. But was free, which makes it even better

    Dualsense has literally changed the game and this game is its showcase. Great platformer that offers immersion like no other game due to the controller. So much fun and a great first Platinum for the next generation of PlayStation.

    Every time I jump back to the game I have a huge smile on my face. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers do magic! and finding small references to the history of playstation and its exclusives in every corner is great. Plus, don't forget to use Activity cards, it cuts that fast loading times in half!

    Astro's Playground give us a taste of the power and versatility of the Dual Sense. As a showcase is great as a game is lovely and fun.

Is this up there with something like God of War, no. But it’s a great game that vastly exceeded expectations. And it’s free! It’s not that difficult for a gamer,This is a free game included on the PS5, but it’s a must play for anyone who 1) wants to see what the hype is about for the new Dual Sense controller, or 2) is a PlayStation fan (lots of nostalgia), or 3) likes 3D platforming.     Very good game, had tons of fun, and as a tech demo it really shocked me. Very good way to show new features and felt like an overall pristine experience!

    It’s an amazing game that fully uses Dualsense capabilities to make an amazing, truly next gen experiencia, I bet everyone that owns a PS5 , and is a PlayStation fan is going to love it, it’s full of Easter egg and collectibles about PlayStation history.

    This game was meant to be a tech demo for the PS5 Dualsense controller and it ended up being so much more. Game is genuinely such a fun time from the gameplay to all of the secrets/colelctables, to the beautiful colors, visuals overall presentation to the genuine cuteness of it. This is more than a tech demo. Definitely worth giving a try and an easy platinum.

    I'm giving it almost a 10 for being free and very fun! Glad it comes with the PS5 and showcases beautifully the features and capabilities of the DualSense! I know why the game isn't as long as I would've wanted but it's understandable. If you get a PS5 play it!

    Astro is something extraordinary. I wouldn't analyze it for the game it is, but for what they wanted to show you it gets full marks.
    Amazing how Dual Sense is exploited and for all the secrets for playstation fans. Absolutely to try.

Its also incredibly short, running at only about 2 hours. Obviously this isn't a huge problem since you're not paying anything to get it, but don't expect it to keep you interested much longer than how long it'll take for a bigger and betterIt's ok.     People view it as a demo for the ps5 but its a full game with amazing haptic feedback and graphics. Its such a nostalgic game for gamers who had the other playstation consoles. You will love it!

    This game was made to show off the amazing dualsense controller for the PS5, and boy oh boy, it nailed it. It's also a reminiscent of the playstation era. A great start to next-gen, with very fun platformer gameplay, ala Mario Odyssey. The downside, it's very short.

    This game blew my mind. It may just be a tech demo but it was genuinely a really fun game. I wished it didn't end, I would LOVE a full game of this. I'll definitely to back and play it again. Just wish it was longer! Not a bad moment in the game. And it looks AMAZING.

    A perfect game that showcase the new dualsense controller. It was nice to go down memory lane of the history of PlayStation accessories and gaming moments, provided by the Astro Bots. It also had some decent platforming mechanics and it’s a free game.

    This is an awesome introduction to the capabilities of the PS5 console and dualshock controller. Great level design and fun gameplay. The collectibles are another plus as they cover the history of Playstation. Definitely a must play as soon as you turn on your new console!

    In the beginning I thought of this game as just a free goodie which would be mediocre but I was so wrong. It is a fantastic game and an excellent tutorial for learning all about the ps5 controller.

    It’s fun but it’s also easy. I don’t see it as a regular game anyways. It’s basically one big nostalgia trip for anyone in their 20s or older with fun little mechanics thrown in. From the controls to the environments and models, the game just looks and feels perfect and whoever programmed the Dualsense controller haptic feedback for this game deserves a raise.

You can feel each raindrop with the dualsense! The sounds from the controller compliment the haptics to enhance the feeling as well. The game utilizes every bell and whistle of the dualsense and I cannot wait to seeBy far the best pack-in game, even surpassing wii sports! The haptics are next-level. The triggers feel outstanding.     As a game, it was delightfully charming. Astro is very adorable. The music is fun and the levels have may secrets to uncover. The game also serves as a tribute to Playstation history and is done very well.

    I highly recommend that new PS5 owners start with this game as it not only shows you what the console can do but amps you up to enjoy your new PS5. In fact, I almost feel like other launch games are lackluster as they don't utilize the full breadth of features of the dualsense. Astro's Playroom sets a high bar for future games.    … Expand

    With all around fantastic gameplay, graphics, design, and just overall fun, I’d argue that under different circumstances, this could have even been considered a game of the year contender. I never realized just how much the Sony PlayStation had influenced my life until I played this game.
