    A perfect tech demo. You’ll catch yourself smiling in wonder as if you’re a child again. I don’t recall any other games making me feel like this. A solid 10/10. Could be an 11/10 if it wasn’t so short.

    As introductions to a new console go this one trumps all. I found my self amazed by the integration of the Dual-sense controller, the immersion it offered was like nothing id ever experienced. The game itself is short but charming with great little Easter eggs to the last generations of PlayStation exclusive games. I 100% recommend anyone who finally gets their hands on a PS5 to give thisAs introductions to a new console go this one trumps all.     the first time I saw this game I thought it would be some boring demo. but when I finally played this game I fell in love. If PlayStation made this a series I would definitely play it

    Intended as a free tech demo but actually it is a nice and high quality platformer game, there is a lot of fun to play it. Good job Asobi Team.

    This demo made me smile so much to the point my cheeks hurt.
    The characters are lovable, the Easter eggs are a joy, and the whole thing is nostalgic.
    Lastly, the gameplay is inventive and I'm just excited to see how future games will use these mechanics.
    If not, I can only hope they make a whole game out of this.

    Awesome game to show off the new console and its controller.
    It is incredibly polished, I wish there would be more if it. Based on Astro's playroom's success maybe we will see a sequel not only in VR :)

A must play for any Playstation lovers as there are so many different Easter Eggs and nostalgia trips throughout the beautifully designed stages.     A great surprise. Perfect gameplay, incradible universe. A big game for playstation fan. Only problem is the 6 to 7h to 100% complete the game. Too sad it is so short.

    Astro’s Playroom is way more than just a technological demo. It’s probably the best way to introduce players to the new DualSense controller. And it comes free with PlayStation 5.

    Surprisingly fun game, packed with a bunch of PS history. Brought back some fond memories. Did a great job of showing what the new controller can do. I only hope developers use it to this level of potential.

    This game is a fun, engaging platformer. The only reason that my score is a 7 is because it is so short and, consequently, the mechanics aren’t given enough time to breathe and grow. I hope there is a full version coming out in the future; I guarantee that I will pay full price for it.

    What a lovely start to the PS5 era!
    If you think this is purely a tech demo you’d be wrong, it does show off the magic of the dual sense controller which is the maybe the killer application this gen but it’s much more than this!
    A great little game and the music deserves a nod too and it’s a freebie.
    I loved it.

    A great way to start of the next-gen experience. It's a good platformer and a beautiful way to honor all the PS history while setting of the next edition. There's nothing to complain about, it's a good free game and a 4 hour platinum trophy.

The designers of astrobot rescue mission put in another great shift giving us more openAstro's playroom is a nearly perfect pack in game. It show's of the features of the dual sense such as the triggers and it's other features that gives a glimpse into what the future of gaming on playstation can be. But it's more than just a tech demo it's all wrapped in an exceptionally fun platformer. The designers of astrobot rescue mission put in another great shift giving us more open levels than the previous game. The charm is cranked up to eleven as not only is this a great pack in game and a excellently designed platformer it also is a celebration of Playstation history. There are references to playstation everywhere including bot cameos of many famous characters that captivated my attention every time one showed up. The collectibles of the game are old PS consoles and accessories that also brought a smile. If you have any history with playstation there is something in here for you. While the platforming is as excellent as ever there are 4 gimmick game styles that highlight the features of the dual sense. most of these are fun to control and freshens up the gameplay. One of them is a monkey that uses the triggers in a cool innovative way however it is incredibly boring and repetitive for it's brief appearance. The only other negative is how short the game is. 4 levels with 4 subsections along with a boss fight and speedrun levels make up the entire game and it can be completed in 4-5 hours. However when your biggest complaint is that it ends to soon, then you have done something right.… Expand

    This is the perfect game to have bundled with the PS5. It shows what the PS5 is capable of in turns of it's unique controller. But it's also a huge love letter to playstation fans who've grown up with the line-up of consoles since the very beginning. With lots of collectibles to unlock, and fun puzzles to solve. This is how you make a launch title bundle.

    The game itself isn’t mind blowing, it has its moments, but leaves you right when it starts to feel a bit stale, to go have fun with your new machine, and dream of what could be in all of your favorite games…
    But maybe playing sackboys big adventure on the ps5 first softened the blow tha everyone else experienced as Astros Playroom more so feels like an introduction to that 3d platformer.
    That being said, theres room for 2 on your ps5, and with astros playroom already being there, tis worth picking up and giving a go to!

    I am a lifelong 30 something gamer who lost interest in platformer style games back in the Mario 64/ banjo kazooie era. But this game has totally sucked me in. It is just so fun to play and explore this world. So many things to see and interact with. So many fun mechanics. It is really a magical feeling to experience. It is also a love letter to PlayStation. You collect all sorts ofI am a lifelong 30 something gamer who lost interest in platformer style games back in the Mario 64/ banjo kazooie era.     This game was great. It taught my friend who never plays video games how to play video games. However, when the claw machine gives you a soda can, the barcode isn’t even real. That made me really angry. Horrible game. 9/10.

    Thanks to the revolutionary new dualsense, this game gives great feelings and emotions that cannot be conveyed in words, you need to experience it yourself.
    The game itself is filled with beautifully made references to older Sony creations.
    I hope for similar support for the new gamepad in many other titles.

    Congrats Asobi ! You've made a masterpiece of a platformer / tech "demo"! Absolutely stunned by this game which for a start I thought it would be a 10 min showcase of the buttons of the DualSense.. Incredible job, just can't say enough praise for this game! And can't stop singing the GPU song!

    At first I didn't get the way I was supposed to play through this game and platformers are not really a favourite genre of mine so I didn't gel with it, but...

    Then I realised the order of things and surprisingly found myself quite enjoying the game. The graphics are bright, colourful and good and the use of the new controller's features add interest.     A great showcase of what the PS5 has to offer in terms of specs. It was also a great 3D platformer as well. Add some fun music and a charming artstyle (Sony please make Astro the PS mascot) and you have a tech demo to rival Wii Sports

    After playing this game I had to sign up to metacritic to give a review. This might be the best game I ever played. The DualSense experience is pretty amazing while playing this game. The music is very uplifting and happy. This is a game we all need in 2020.

    And suddenly I wish Zelda BOTW was playable with DualSense.

    Sin lugar a dudas toda una sorpresa, una demo convertida en videojuego con personalidad, y al que la única pega que le puedo poner es que no dure un poco más para seguir disfrutándolo.

    Cumple a la perfección su cometido, gran acierto el que venga pre-instalado en la consola, destacar el acertado uso de la nostalgia, la cual suele ser el arma de Nintendo, pero no de Sony. Y el    Sin lugar a dudas toda una sorpresa, una demo convertida en videojuego con personalidad, y al que la única pega que le puedo poner es que no dure un poco más para seguir disfrutándolo.

    Cumple a la perfección su cometido, gran acierto el que venga pre-instalado en la consola, destacar el acertado uso de la nostalgia, la cual suele ser el arma de Nintendo, pero no de Sony.

    I say to people that I don't believe in 10 as a score, and I never will. I believe that is impossible to receive. Nothing is ever perfect.... but then you have games like this come around every so often. Its not perfect, but its as close to perfect as you can get. I feel so strongly that this game deserves nothing less than a 9.8, so I have to round up.

    The soundtrack is incredible (I    I say to people that I don't believe in 10 as a score, and I never will. I believe that is impossible to receive. Nothing is ever perfect.... but then you have games like this come around every so often. Its not perfect, but its as close to perfect as you can get. I feel so strongly that this game deserves nothing less than a 9.8, so I have to round up.

    The soundtrack is incredible (I do it for you cuz I'm you're GPU!!) and strangely makes you love the parts in your PS5, the platforming is just as fun as any other, the hits of nostalgia (if you're a PS fan from PS1 days) are strong and constant, and the controller is almost impossible to describe.

    Since I don't believe in 10s, there must be some issue with the game, right? All I can think of, honestly, is its not long enough and I really wish it had multiplayer!     Primer juego de PS5, es impresionante la combinacion del juego, las pruebas y el mando, es algo único que no he vivido en otra plataforma, es increible que con la vibracion y el sonido pueda transmitirte tantas sensaciones, de todas ellas sin duda me quedo con el nivel donde llueve y se sienten y se oyen las gotas de lluvia... de verdad que hay que sentirlo por si mismo.     A must play for all PS5 owners, as it comes preinstalled with the console. With 3-4h of duration, this is a joy to play. There are many easter eggs and references that draw a smile on my face, and the gameplay varies all the time as well, using the different features of the controller. Outstanding game to kick off the generation.

The music was absolutely banging (turn Jungle GPU up loud) and the PlayStation nostalgia was a wonderful touch. They went to lengths to explain that it was 'just a tech demo' but it's so much more... but also... WHAT a tech demo. TheI love this game so much. I haven't seen anyone playing this game without a big old smile on their faces. It's absolutely brilliant. It's a fun platinum trophy to get. The game isn't too long but you could spend hours upon hours playing the speed run sections mastering the courses and getting your times down to best your friends scores in the leaderboards. I couldn't reccomend this game more. 10/10 and it's free, pre installed on every PS5... And that's a great price! Play this game.… Expand

    Really fun tech demo of the PS5's features. I love the haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers, it really shines in the game and makes it feel next gen. My only gripe would be the game is too short ha!

While SMO is, obviously, much longer, I really liked only the desert and city worlds, while every world in Astro's Playroom is absolutely gorgeous and full of creativity and we also get anGraphics, music, gameplay, the playstation references and the spot on platforming make this a very solid and very good platformer for the PS5, which I actually loved much more than Super Mario Odyssey. While SMO is, obviously, much longer, I really liked only the desert and city worlds, while every world in Astro's Playroom is absolutely gorgeous and full of creativity and we also get an overworld to walk around, play and interact with.     Basically the Playstation Mario to show off the DualSense... Mate, this game is insane and an incredible pleasure to your hands. A bit short, but lot's of replayability and accessible for all players young and old. Also features speedrun courses vs the world, in which you can sink hours to master the course.

    A true Next Gen title which showcases the PS5 controllers ability. Buttery smooth with awesome graphics and gameplay. Only downside is that its too short. There's a bit of replay ability to collect all the artefacts but still over too soon. Otherwise a genuine 10/10 game.

The greatest part of this game is what Sony did with the controller, every surface you walk on you can feel in the controller and shooting the bow or gun feels amazing!     An amazing little game. Might not be long (took me 4 hours to get the platinum trophy) but it is full of heart. Amazing music, stylish gameplay, a great introduction into the DualSense and just in general a hard trip down memory lane. Amazing! I hope we see more of Astro in the near future!

Pra quem nasceu ali depois dos anos 80 e antes dos anos 2000 e curtiu todas as gerações do PS vai amar esse game! A parte do controle é sensacional. É incrível a precisão do Feedback Háptico.

    When I read that this was a free game with the system I assumed it would be fun for about half an hour while other stuff installed then something I'd forget about, I was wrong. I played non-stop for 3-4 hours and still keep going back for more with the time trials.     vibration is very weak there is nothing revolutionary, but the triggers are another story, they are well made and you really feel elastic.

    With all around fantastic gameplay, graphics, design, and just overall fun, I’d argue that under different circumstances, this could have even been considered a game of the year contender. I never realized just how much the Sony PlayStation had influenced my life until I played this game.

    Astro’s Playroom is way more than just a technological demo. It’s probably the best way to introduce players to the new DualSense controller. And it comes free with PlayStation 5. [Issue#308]
