This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really enjoy the game at fist, but the more I play more I hate about the game. 1. Horrible game navigation. Lost countless time. Can see it want to present a soul like map type, but the landscape isn’t very different make finding way harder than soul series’ game 2. bugy. Many game are bugy now , so I’m kinda use to it but this game enemy can stuck underground make you can’t hit them but they can hit you. There are countless of this kind of irritating bug , but some checkpoint can be far away. Which make to wasting time by walk a long way from check point just to hope the bug won’t happen again. 3. Terrible combat system/optimization. At first it seem to give you lots of play style, but you need lots of time to build a usable set. This make you could only grind to build another one mid game. This is mainly due to building a set you not only need level up, but also upgrade resources. However the drop rate of the resource is low and random. It combat system make enemy can combo you if the strike the first punch. This make the game become extremely hard if the game randomly give you tons of range enemy. I’m playing counter play style, but when I’m facing the crystal boss the rang enemy and tanky crystal enemy just can’t stop spawning. I hand to face 6 crystal enemy and 8 rang enemy in a little platform. This make the difficulty become extremely hard compare to other boss. And even I manage to win that enemy’s ability is ally’s ability is the same which makes you impossible to know which to doge which. However the boss have a one shot aoe that you need ally’s ability to avoid it , so you can’t just doge all. Moreover,It’s treasure system are just trash. It’s treasure give you punch of rabbis you don’t need and make you can’t upgrade your weapon and armor if you are unlucky. I’m a Taiwanese. I bought it to support the industry, but what I play just make me see how careless this studio is and feel bad about ever buying and plying this game. Expand

A stellar debut with intriguing story, beautiful visual style and satisfying action RPG combat systems.

A solid soulslike, with some cool ideas in the combat. Despite a few technical flaws and some less-than-original takes, Asterigos is still worth your time. [Issue#21, p.89]

The developers take a brutal and punishing game of survival and spin into an epic journey. Hilda won’t become a beaten and battered casualty of a brutal combat system, but rather a heroic figure that brings hope to a bleak land and its people, with personal stories that have a variety of endings for the Aphesians in this fully fleshed out world. A strong combat system that doesn’t punish players too harshly makes Asterigos: Curse of the Stars refreshing and approachable. Levelling too much can make bosses easy, and locations for quest items can be obtuse, but the game never feels unfair or unbalanced making Aphes a world worth exploring for the rich adventure that it tells.
