Haven't finished it yet, but i can say i have had so much more fun with this, than i did with Odyssey and Origins combined. Valhalla finally feels like actual AC game. Specially after they added Assassin outfits. There used to be some bugs, but most of them are fixed by now. Good game.

The best Assassins's Creed game since Black Flag, the best fighting mechanics in the series and finally Darby McDevitt made aweeeeesome plot twists, but still the game is not perfect.Eivor most of the time is stupid,60 hours is too much for the story line and most of England story lines are fillers.Despite the weak parts of the game I liked it very much. Ubisoft haters are most unlikable people on this planet. Reading these "so called" user reviews makes me sick. I have never seen so much pathetic bitterness, anger and whining towards video game. Specially, because none of this negativity is justified. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a good game and Far Cry 6 will be good game and This is just fact that these haters need to accept and move on!

I preferred Odyssey, but this game is good enough to enjoy. I liked the settings, the story and the gameplay.

Better graphics than Elden Ring, that's for sure. Overall this game surprised me, it's not best AC game, but it has more to offer than Odyssey or Origins. Story is not most interesting thing in this game, but open world and exploration makes this game solid. I still wish they would go back to Black Flag/Unity era tho.

In my opinion one of the best AC games so far. I did not like the protagonist in AC origins. With Eivor I can identify myself. Above all the stories of every kingdom & the characters are all individual & stay in my memory (compared to many of the previous games a big step forward if you play games mainly for the story like me). With the viking impact this AC feels different than previous ACs. I really like that.
I only have to negative feelings about this game. 1) Fighting is still not challenging enough & feels for most of the game the same (I would wish something like the combat of Ghost of Tsushima) 2) The game is too long. I needed around 90 hours to play through the main campaign. Nobody needs such a long game, perfect length for main story is max. 40 hours if a game is good otherwise it gets a bit boring.

Overall it's not better than Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate BUT, it is better than Origins and Odyssey. The rewards you earn is great, I have made a few purchases using my Microsoft Rewards but you do not have to in order to play this game well or beat it, which is always a plus. The DLCs were each fantastic additions, and I thoroughly enjoyed my nearly 400 hours so far a playing as male Eivor. This game is just super fun, gorgeous graphics and landscapes and thrilling at times, with comical and relaxing bits mixed it to switch it up. I got the game Day 1 and did not experience the glitches that other players have noted (I played it using Xbox Series X|S). All around I’d give this a solid 10/10 A+ and highly recommend, especially if you love the Viking Age, Assassin’s Creed, or looking for an RPG done right, that plays like a third person shooter almost (using arrows and medieval melee weapons though). Can’t speak highly enough of this game, UbiSoft crushed it and I am looking forward to the totally new purchasable add-on coming early spring 2022. Expand

like it's... fine? i forgot about the story about 3 hours into it and just used it to fight enemies and loot cool gear. much in the vein of Fallout 4, the story is so lacking and the open world so vast (and i should say empty of any real driving force) that it's easy to lose yourself in fetch quests.

Reminds me Unity in some parts, specially tone wise, it's darker than Odyssey. As fan of Unity is appreciate it a lot. Also parkour is back, story is fun, but my favorite part so far has been just endless exploring. Can't wait to see what they do with Paris and Ireland.

There are two competing experiences here: that as as Assassin, and that as a Viking, that either on its own feels like it might have been a triumph and better than this good but not great Assass-king hybrid we have.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.
  3. 90
Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. While the map size might overwhelm some players, it remains an easy game to mainline with the right navigation mode turned on. In fact, the quick load times help to make this an even easier task than in previous generations. This is an iteration of Assassin’s Creed that has a bit of everything from the previous games, as refined as we have seen to date.
