Aug 28, 2022The game didn't age well. I loved to play original Alan Wake 10 years ago. Still love the story and atmosphere, but the gameplay feels outdated, controls are clumsy and fights are long and boring. Also bugs: visible stutter in cutscenes, also got stuck several times, had to restart checkpoint.

Oct 12, 2021the game still pretty much the same so its literarily remastered means if someone already finished the first one there's no need to replay it but still a very unique game anyway with a very unique story and gameplay.

Oct 7, 2021One of my favorite games of all time and all remastered for only $40? AMAZING. The gameplay is still not perfect but overall always a great experience playing this game!

Oct 9, 2021You don´t always need a full remake to make a beloved game feel fresh again. But considering some of the recent remasters on the market, Alan Wake´s rejuvenation looks rather dull - especially on XBOX Series X and PlayStation 5. Anyway, if you´ve never experienced the mysteries of Bright Falls before, your money´s still well spent.

Oct 12, 2021This is nowhere near what people say is one of the most underrated games?
The story was awesome.. the downside however.. will be the gameplay.
The combat is awful and is extremely repetitive.
Story = Good
Combat = Bad
Visuals = Good
Performance = Good
Buy for the story, not for the gameplay. -

May 4, 2022Thought this game was fun, The remaster is adequate better graphics but still looks and feels like an older game. Played this in anticipation for Alan Wake 2 looking forward to a modern take on this cool setting. Plus the music is awesome loved it

Apr 22, 2022Nice little atmospheric thriller. The waves of enemies become more tedious than anything else towards the end of the game.

Mar 13, 2023This game does not go higher than a 'ok 7'.
I've seen way better games getting rated lower scores than the average 8 I see it scoring here.
Says a lot about rating here on metacritic ofcourse. -
Jul 26, 2023cool story but repetitive and boring gameplay. Enemy types are the same throughout the game.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Feb 18, 2022Alan Wake has grown old with all the grace that a similar cult title deserves. It did not lose anything from its personal charm, and although the authors could go a step further in improving animations, it is a great game, which you can find at Sony console for the first time.
-
Nov 30, 2021This is the best version of Alan Wake you can play - but it’s also pretty much identical with the original game and the gameplay definitely feels a bit dated.
-
PLAYNov 17, 2021This PlayStation debut is a straightforward remaster of the original, faults and all. But we still love it. [Issue#8, p.84]
