    One of the most unique games out there, Thanks to this studio for creating such a unique game.

    People complaining about this game being capped at 30 FPS, I think if you knew this fact and bought the game and complained, you are the problem, not the developer. The first part of the game was very engaging, in contrary to the late game.     A great story, fun gameplay. One of the best games I’ve played in years. From start to finish I couldn’t stop playing. All the characters are written fantastically and you feel for them as the story continues and was saddened by the ending. If they ever release a 3rd installment I’ll buy it in a heartbeat.

    There was something "off" from the start, but then, with that ending and the lackluster gameplay throughout the whole thing... I feel nothing, but regret for myself for wasting my time or getting excited for it in the first place.
    As much as I loved the first game, I was disappointed with the second one. We spent the whole first game growing our power and relationships, just to make it all meaningless in the second game. I get resetting power level, but character growth? Relly? It's so disappointing, especially when Amicia was the one acting like a child.
    On top of that, at one point the suffering was just too much and the game became just a depressing walking simulator.
    I've seen people praising it for tackling the topic of terminal illness, and that's fair I guess, but I don't think the message the devs were tying to convey hit the mark or left any positive(!) impact. If you have been so unlucky in life to experience something like this, then this game to you is just pure torture p*rn.
    I gave it a 5 because there were interesting parts, sometimes the story did make me wonder what would happen next and the few longer gameplay segments were fun.... but it still can't be compared to the last game.

    It makes me sad - knowing how excited I was for it, how much I wanted to love it and now being disappointed by it.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So a massively enjoyed the first game, a different yet familiar story with a twist…so much so that straight after finishing, seeing a sequel had been just realised, was straight on it to see where these characters would go next.
    For me there was a lack of familiarity from the get go, which isn’t bad but I wanted the story to continue, the change in amicas voice took a while to get used to (which to honest was an massive improvement as the faux French that was well almost laughable before ) it disconnected me from the character and then…the graphics… when moving the game stuttered frequently, such a shame as when standing still or during cut scenes was gorgeous, this was infuriating as the previous game ran so smoothly so that’s the 2points lost there.
    I found the game more challenging due to the larger environments and had appreciation to the new management/weapon system, the new characters were good, and the addition to the knife was welcomed, I did find myself missing the old upgrade system though as finding basic parts just weren’t as exciting to find as that piece of leather etc that you could use to upgrade or make luminosa for extra exploration or save self from infestation.
    The story held up and I hope the story continues if not in an another sequel some dcl. Hugo was annoying but didn’t expect him to die, maybe his voice will forever live in Amicias head who knows but in honesty if not for the graphics I’d easily give this a 9/10    … Expand

    Great story, great voice acting, great game. I really liked the first game, Requiem has improved every aspect of Innocence.

    Good graphics and interesting story, really bad and clunky gameplay like Innocence. They introduce nice new mechanics but they are used only once or twice. You will need lots of patience with the controls and the trial and error.

    The worst part is the first quarter of the game. And probably the ending.

    Can't recommend it.

    This 2nd part is even better than the 1st. the Story is amazing, the characters are well written and i would recommend it 100%. The only issue i´m not giving it a 10 is the frame drops on PS5. But you should definitely play it.

    Meccaniche di gioco innovative rispetto al precedente grafica migliorata molto scorrevole su PS5. Qualche bug di poco conto durante il gioco ma nulla di esagerato. Stile di combattimento molto bello a mio avviso pecca un po nelle fasi stealth e nel trasporto del classico carretto per facilitati a salire però tutto sommato è ok.Voto personale 9

    This game is amazing!
    The story is so dynamic, touching and moving. The graphics are stunning and very detailed in detail. Mechanics and puzzles were involved as well as stealth tactics. Every single character has a profound role.
    Simply a masterpiece!

Gameplay is repetitive and boring. Story was okay with a great dynamic between a big sister and her brother but is beginning to lose me.     Better in all aspects than Innocence. The sense of discovery in some chapters made me thought in From Software games. Art is great, maybe the best this generation, gameplay has improved from Innocence, great narrative (although if I prefer the simpler and more realistic story of the first one), amazing music... Not perfect, but it has soul.

    a wonderful game. the story was able to touch and surprise. the characters have received an interesting development. the only small problem was optimization, which sometimes interfered with immersion. a project that cannot be missed. thank you for the emotions! and special thanks for the support of the Russian language ❤

    A Plague Tale: Requiem takes place six months after the first game, where Amicia and Hugo defeated Grand Inquisitor and foiled the Inquisition’s malicious plans. Hugo still has the sickness, Macula, in him. They thought his powers were under control, but they are awoken yet again. With that comes the rats that literally destroys everything and kill all people in    THE INNOCENCE IS GONE
    A Plague Tale: Requiem takes place six months after the first game, where Amicia and Hugo defeated Grand Inquisitor and foiled the Inquisition’s malicious plans. Hugo still has the sickness, Macula, in him. They thought his powers were under control, but they are awoken yet again. With that comes the rats that literally destroys everything and kill all people in sight. But, there’s a hope; in Hugo’s dreams he sees an island where he thinks lies the cure for his illness.

    So, that’s pretty much the basic storyline. It surely has twitst and turns, and all kinds of new characters are introduced in the game. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but this time Amicia and Hugo has new moves in they use. The only thing that I must say immediately, that the game introduces new moves throughout the game, but then they aren’t basically used anymore in the game. It introduces lots of other things, but seems like they had too many ideas and the game would’ve benefit for it being more simple.

    THE SAME GAMEPLAY ISSUES THAN BEFORE
    Then comes the bugs that might just ruin your gameplay completely. There are scenarios where I had to sneak amongst the enemies and also deal with the rats. Amicia had lots of different items she can use, then there’s the light that have to be used against the rats (because they are afraid of it), then there’s the soldiers that varies, meaning some I can kill and some I cannot because they have armor on them. So it is a lot to think about and to do. In these situations, where even millimeter out of light might get me eaten by rats, and I have a NPC with me that might suddenly run somewhere and die. Or the janky gameplay in general get me killed. So, there’s lots of dying and fustration with this game, in all together. So don’t expect perfect and polished game at all, it still has the same issues like they had with the first game.

    What comes to the overall length of the game; it is a way too long. This is an issue what I see in lots of games. They don’t know when to just cut things off. Every time when I thought that the game is about to end, a new thing happened and the game went on. It was very much like this: a peaceful moment with Amicia and Hugo and everything is fine, then the rats came and destroyed the whole city and ate all the people, then they have to survive through it and soldiers, then a peaceful moment again… so it was very much rinse and repeat. It only took so much until the effect of it dies.

    Visually, the game looked a-ma-zing!! I took so many screenshots and used photo mode all the time. The game is gory and dreadful, and it’s not even shy about it. The game is very emotional and the storytelling is good. What makes it even better, is the voice acting, which was great, but might get little used to first. The relationship between Amicia and Hugo feels genuine, and it’s very endearing.

    The puzzles, the few that were introduced, weren’t that hard to solve. There was only one puzzle that took me a while to solve.

    THE FINAL VERDICT
    A Plague Tale: Requiem is a good game. It is longer than the first one. It introduces new characters, huge areas and cities, new gameplay mechanics and graphically it is a very polished game. I liked the story, even though the game was a way too long and streched. Do I recommend it, is it a must play? Yes, it is.    … Expand

    This game has to be game of the year for me! I just finished it and just had to write a review. The game was absolutely gorgeous on my RTX 3080 gaming PC. Ran the game at max settings 1440p ultrawide which held on average 90 fps. The game was so beautiful graphically and I loved the gameplay too. I really am shocked by the reviews I've seen for this. And half of the game your forced to walk in slow motion because it seems as though graphics are all they were worried about not playability. The story is as generic as it gets. Typical WOK story of skinny girl warrior takes on an army of men and destroys them all.So gameplay is decent for a stealth style game. I played the first one and enjoyed it. A Plague Tale Requiem is a massive step up from the prior title and a straight up triple-A game now. I couldn't stop thinking about this game between sessions, and I'mAs someone who was quite dissapointed with A Plague Tale Innocence, I am shocked by how much I enjoyed this. A Plague Tale Requiem is a massive step up from the prior title and a straight up triple-A game now. Everything is improved massively - voice acting, music, environments, story, characters, graphics - I could go on. I couldn't stop thinking about this game between sessions, and I'm writing this review hoping that more people will buy it because the decelopers have earned it! I feel that Requiem is getting the Horizon Forbidden West treatment. Requiem is, like Forbidden West, a massive improvement over the first game, but for some reason it goes unnoticed. People really don't appreciate how much love and effort Asobo have put into this game.

    Yes, there are some framerate stability issues now and then, but nothing that ruins the experience at all. I was glued to the screen from start to finish, and I'm so happy I got to experience this emotional journey. Amicia and Hugo's voice actors deserve special recognition for a flawless performance. Amicia has become one of my favourite characters in gaming - and again, I really didn't enjoy her performance in Innocence, so that just goes to show the improvement! This game is without question a game of the year contender, and I really hope that the developers stick with the characters in this game.

    These days it's rare to get such a high quality singleplayer game with a great length. I have heard critics say that the game is too long and gets too sci-fi. Personally, I cannot understand these claims. The lore and setting - including it's more supernatural elements were fully established in Innocence, and Requiem is true to these in every regard, nothing more nothing less. This game explores the bond between brother and sister and how far you will go to protect someone you love, even if it means losing yourself in the process. If you ask me, that is a far more intruguing story than the inquisition-focused story of Innocence. As far as game length, it's perfect. Innocence was too short and this nails the story and pacing beautifully. I mean, when playing Requiem you keep wanting it to continue because it's so good!

    Requiem is an even more ambitious game than its predecessor, with more focus on Amicia's internal struggles as well as her little brother's worsening condition. The gameplay is more expansive as well, with different playstyle branches ranging from stealth, aggression and opportunity perks that progress as you go depending on how many lives you take along the way. Celle-ci est très bien écrite, surprenante et haletante. Les graphismes sont de très grande qualité. La musique d'Olivier Derivière est parfaite et accompagne parfaitement les moments de tension et d'émotion. La dualsense etUn chef d'oeuvre tout simplement. J'avais beaucoup apprécié A Plague Tale Innocence. Celui-ci nous permet d'accompagner les personnages plus loin dans leur histoire. Celle-ci est très bien écrite, surprenante et haletante. Amazing game,even better than the first one.There are more mechanicks in the game that really spice up your game play and the story is perfection.In the first game we didnt exacly know why this plague started and we thought its was because of the rats and the Macula,but it is way more deeper than that.I kind of didnt like the ending where Hugo died but i think thats just me not wanting to let go of him but its ok,its still a amazing game overall and i cant wait for the 3rd one.I just hope Amicia is going to be in the next game with Sophia.There was a post credit scene where we are shown a hand of a baby infected from the Macula showing us that a 3rd game will maybe come but who knows.I just have one issue with it in the back round we can hear somekind of machine and someone on high heels,telling us that that post credit scene is maybe set in modern time.I dont think its going to be a good idea to have the next game in modern time because that means that we wont have Amicias signature weapon the sling witch is a magura part of the games weapons that Amicia uses,and that would mean that we cant play Amicia because when we play as Amicia its in the year 1346,but then thath would mean that Amicia is dead before another carrirer is born.I think the 3rd game should be about Amicai,Sophia,Lucas,the next carirer,the protector and maybe some new characters to come along our journey.But i mean thats just my opinion,i just think its better to keep the origional cast and maybe like 5 years after Requiem.Ive seen that the studio that made this game(forgot the name)does not have andy plans yet for the series,but they have said that they are going to wait for the reviews for the game before they have plans for a 3rd plague tale game,but considering that the reviews for now are great i think we are looking foward to another plague tale game.I just can wait what they are going to do with the 3rd game!… Expand

    This game is excellent in most important aspects such as the story, accuracy and beauty of the art in the game world. I enjoyed trying it and I hope the development team will work on a new part, to see the creativity and art they will present and push the world of games forward.

I loved her dynamic with her brother and how much she loved him. Utterly loved how she cared for him. Which truly made her quality as a good main character. But to end it in such a sad way. Where amicia is forced to kill the child, her brother, ugh. Sorry hate endings like this. Completely kill the game for me. Story telling up to this part I loved. I’m a happy ending type guy. Loved the first one. Kinda wish it ended there now…even amicia sacrificing herself to save her brother and cure him would have been better. Graphics are good as most games are nowadays. Very linear like the first game. It’s good if u like sad gut wrenching endings if not stay away.… Expand

I got a rare feeling I only got when I finished one of a kind games like The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Last of us. GOTY material. This game has left a big hole inside me that cannotI don't know how to start this review. I cannot express in words this game. It broke me.     I'm confused why this game got such good reviews - it has nice graphics, a somewhat interesting story, but the moment to moment gameplay is boring, the stealth is absolutely terrible, the puzzles are boring and repetitive, even repeating puzzles from the original game. I guess there is only so much you can do with fire and light.

    Even the different sections where they try to make it interesting by ramping up the action are just frustrating as you'll likely just die continuously until eventually by trial and error you manage to get through. It's the same with stealth as it's never entirely clear whether you'll be spotted or not.

    Then we get to the performance, luckily I have a 120hz screen so am able to play at 40fps, but at 1440p I really don't think that's good enough, and there are quite a lot of frame rate dips below it. I don't believe in 2022 40fps is adequate, the graphics are nice but don't justify this sacrifice on next gen consoles, 60fps I believe is entirely achievable there's just some serious optimisation to be made to get there,

    Overall, I found this a nice looking, interesting story but I couldn't face the constant terrible combat/stealth/puzzle sequences, I didn't find the story worthwhile to put up with those so ultimately didn't make it to the end    … Expand

    Just a master class. Gameplay not always a pleasure especially during the fights (this could really be improved). But it's really nothing compare to this entire masterpiece. Just finished it and wow. Last time I had this feeling was when ACII was released. This work deserve really much more than that bashing from those framerate princesses.     it's simple , it's a masterpiece .
    if you like narrative or immersive games like "last of us" , you have to play to this one .
    as a reminder , it's the sequel of a plague tale : innocence. So , go first on innocence and then deep dive on requiem . you will not regret .

    There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $60 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. That little kid could have made for a decent co-op, but the developers were too greedy and lazy for that. Speaking of that kid, he is annoying. If I could just RKO that annoying kid in this game, I would rate this higher than a 0. I don't recommend this boring game at all.

    Easily one of the best story games of the last decade. I haven’t cried over a game in a long time, but by the time I reached the end, I was in tears. The relationship between Hugo and Amicia is unbelievably strong, and it shows a lot in this game. The voice acting is also top notch. The soundtrack is so gd good. We see so many developers nowadays where they seem to put all their time, money, and energy into only the graphics of their games, and none into the plot or the characters.

    Don't listen to the haters. Sure there are some dips in framerate at times when 300,000 rats are on the screen, but the way some "gamers" are complaining about it makes me think they haven't played a single indie game in their life. Game is a solid 10 from start to finish.

    A Plague Tale Innocence was the first game that I played on the Playstation 5 after I bought it. I had no high expectations but I instantly fell in love with Amicia and Hugo. The visuals, the setting, the story, the OST - everything was perfect. The same goes for Requiem. The latter is an amazing follow up to the first game. The story is powerful, it explores even more the bond between Amicia and Hugo but it also introduces us to strong and endearing characters such as Sophia and Arnaud. I wasn't able to let go off my controller, I wanted to know what happened in the next chapter but I also wanted to take it slow because I didn't want my adventure with Amicia, Hugo & their friends to end. And when I finally got to that ending, oh boy, was I heartbroken.

    A Plague Tale Requiem is a real next-gen beast. Visually it's just perfect - even though the 30 fps is hard to swallow, you get over it after witnessing the incredible story and visuals unfold before your eyes. The music adds another layer and depth to the game. Just like Naughty Dog did with TLOU 2, Requiem goes deeper and deeper into its characters and makes them human... you almost forget that these are animated fictional characters and you start feeling happy, sad and angry whenever they too feel those emotions.

    Beautiful and heartbreaking. Loved the game and could barely put it down for hours. Graphics look amazing and I love the new crossbow you get. Story really makes you want to keep fighting and the game has left me emotionally raw. Had a few weird moments with enemies that seemed to spot me but I couldn’t see them but nothing game breaking or too bothersome.

    It was interesting to watch the development of the plot, which was accompanied by good gameplay. When you play this game, you don't feel like you're doing something wrong in your life by wasting your time. It's a very good game :)

I was completely bored by the end of Chapter 3 and stopped playing at Ch. 5. And I knew there were 17 chapters. I just couldn’t keep going. Maybe someday I’ll pick it up again, but I’d rate what I played as 4/10. Glad I got Game Pass PC for just aI liked the first game really well. Side characters have their own minor story arcs and seem likeable. The quality of ending might be subjective but I side with those who claim it ended on good note providing poignant closure to the entire journey that encompasses two games - at the same time avoiding any major plot holes or inconsistencies. Eventually it's all coming together and starts making sense.
    As for the flaws - combat is as clunky as it was in the first game. Certain combat encounters in which Amicia takes on nothing short of entire army look absurd even for the videogames standard. Instead of dying instantly on contact with enemy - like in last game - Amicia can now withstand one hit from most enemies but there is a larger variety of them as some of them throw spears and fire projectiles from the distance while some of them charge at you head on. Fully upgraded crossbow with retrieveable bolts is way OP especially during later encounters.
    Weak performace is a big let-down. The game runs at 30 fps most of the time but every now and then it suffers from drops below 30 fps. The trade-off is that the game indeed is visually stunning but the lack of performance mode is a downer. On the good side - no game-breaking bugs and just one crash throughout the game.    … Expand

    There is not enough mode with 60 frames per second, because it was possible to add such a mode, even at a resolution of 1080p, as well as voice acting in Russian, since reading subtitles is very distracting from the gameplay and does not allow you to properly immerse yourself in the game. The rest turned out to be quite an exciting adventure.

    Combine greedy publisher and lazy developers and puff, you'll get A Plague Tale: Requiem. Defective game with terrible optimization and no 60fps mode, as this would require from devs more time to make and make necessary optimizations. Console versions of APT:R is spitting in the faces of consumers and telling us it's raining.

    -Every 10-20min in any chapter, the game is completely powering down the PS5. Have to unplug and replug the console to get power to turn back on. The game crashes so often that it is unplayable.
    Very disappointed (P.S other games run all fine on my PS5, just A PLAGUE TALE: REQUIEM crashes all the time)

    The gameplay mechanics did not change from the first iteration, in all that's bad and good about them - they are repetitive "escape the rats with casting light on stuff" riddles that become increasingly complex. The graphics are the high part of the second showing, as is the voice acting.

    And yes, Hugo still has the same annoying kid voice as in the first part. Amicia is playing the role of tough strong female and has some new tricks up her sleeve - but many of the old mechanics are regurgitated ad nauseam. You'll find yourself looking desparately for what the devs must have thought obvious places to advance in a room (hint: most of them are not obvious) - voice cues should give hints but some are confusing even more as to what the solution might be.

    That said, it's a strong story with a mystical element as to what the sickness really is - and how to get rid of it and a strong narrative is presented throughout the same stale gameplay mechanics that were making the first part frustrating for many, me included.    … Expand

    That little kid that you have to escort around 100 % of the time is annoying. And you can't kill him or throw him to the wolves. Who the hell wants to play a never ending escort mission???

    I don't know what to say.I'm dissappointed because some things are not smooth. The game looks great yes but it didn't blow me away with some huge ''wooow'' effects. Maybe the game isn't for me.I played the first one and I had more fun with it.

    If you liked first one, you'd probably like Requiem too. But... technical side on PS5 is horrible. Only 30 FPS mode with frame drops and stutters is unacceptable. No optimisation whatsoever, no performance mode, nothing. And they didn't even have the decency to let us know before the game was released. Don't buy now... we must boycott such practices and laziness of developers. Shame on them.

    Its absurd to even consider a game running at 30 FPS in 2022. The new consoles are more than capable of running this game at 60. Bad optimization and incopetence from the studio makes this a terrible experience. Hopefully a new patch will render the game playable and a worthy follow up to the previous game.

    Just loved it... Way more than the first one. FPS is a bit weak but i don't mind for a narrative driven game. Story and visuals are pure magic... Oh and the music... Definitely on my top 3 this year...

    No day one patch even after a few days after the game is launched. Game performance is bad and not an amazing experience for a PS5 player.

    I paid for a next-gen game, I get a 30fps game on PS5 with lags, even in small areas !
    They asked us to wait for day one patch. Well, we are still waiting and we don't even get any news about the situation.

    Innocence was great so I don't understand what happened.
    If you want to buy it, wait until you have a powerful computer or a PS5 pro ;)

    By the time A Plague Tale: Requiem concludes, it will feel like being dragged by a pick-up truck, across miles of concrete. The world depicted is a bleak and cruel one with no light at the end of the tunnel. Players will be getting their money's worth, as this is a very long game that is punctuated with lots of gimmicky sequences that add value to the package. The story does have a lot for fans to discuss, and the visuals are amazing, even if they came at the cost of a high frame rate. The gameplay is technically better than the first, but it was never amazing to begin with. The over reliance on prebaked contextual actions and the rigidness of simplistic stealth is something most could expect from a seventh gen console title, not a ninth gen console release.

A continuation of a story that was fine on its own, Requiem delivers one of the most powerful stories ever conceived in a video game.
