    this is overall a more polished version of the first game but much longer and more fleshed out mechanics like more options for getting through areas, and some quality-of-life things like wait mechanic with Hugo. Also, a great story with compelling characters, and the visuals are just 10/10 on their own.     Now it’s even better, with the new performance mode, which allows us to play it at 60fps! Definitly a must play! Story, graphics, puzzles, characters, the new mechanics.. masterpiece

    A patch has been released that mostly fixes the performance for PS5, so I change my score up to 8 now. Game itself is really good, but performance have been bad across the board, but for PS5 it seems mostly fixed now - don't know the PC situation. I am glad the developers actually fix these things, but it's really late. But better late than never

    Now, the graphics, yes sir, take off your hat, glorious. If you don't like stealth don't buy it and the story in my opinion is great. Very good game, worth every penny.
    But really, what surprised me the most are the graphics, and I played many games with very good graphics, but in this one especially they are wonderful.

    That was an intense trip again! This game is strict story driven with heavy sceneries and some thrilling moments! Beautiful landscapes, great variety of scenes, great characters, great music!     This game did a stupendous job at taking the good stuff with its predecessor and building on it, both story-wise and gameplay-wise. I'm personally not too big of a stealth gamer, but I still really enjoyed playing.

    You can also tell the creative direction and graphics were massively improved from the first one, incredible beauty and stuff of nightmares are in this game.

    Loved it! Beautiful ending! A very nice ending to both games! I've read that there may not be a third one, that's OK, but if there is, I'm going to buy and play it immediately.

    Before the release, I was afraid the story might have failed as in TLOU2. When it was released, the doubt was completely gone. The entire story was fascinating, and the ending was also well made.

Pesca a piene mani dai migliori, ma mantiene una sua identità ben definita, prendendo quanto c’era di buono nelUn’avventura coinvolgente ed emozionante che tiene incollati allo schermo fino alla fine. È un gioco fortemente story driven e poco rigiocabile data la sua linearità di fondo e il genere di appartenenza, ma da vivere intensamente e per cui varrà la pena spendere il vostro tempo. Pesca a piene mani dai migliori, ma mantiene una sua identità ben definita, prendendo quanto c’era di buono nel primo capitolo ed elevandolo in quasi ogni aspetto. Comparto artistico di spessore con scenari meravigliosi che trasmettono pace e bellezza in alcuni casi, ma soprattutto che riescono a trasmettere il degrado e il marcio in altri, merito anche di un comparto grafico mozzafiato anche a 30 fps (non pregiudicano in alcun modo la godibilità del titolo). Sono rimasto molto stupito per quanto riguarda la recitazione digitale, regia e in generale la spettacolarità di alcune scene, molto cinematografiche e che non mi sarei mai aspettato di trovare in un titolo come questo. Musiche, sonoro e doppiaggi al top (dispiace un po’ per l’assenza del doppiaggio in italiano).
    Non è un gioco perfetto, ha ancora delle criticità di gameplay: una leggera legnosità a tratti e un’IA nemica non brillantissima che fa sfociare a volte il titolo nel trial and error data la natura stealth, infatti, purtroppo, l’approccio a viso aperto andrebbe rivisto, ma tutto sommato questo non va troppo a rovinare l’avventura nel complesso che spinge sempre ad andare avanti con una narrativa incalzante e mai banale e tante novità e senso di scoperta, sia a livello di meccaniche di gameplay, sia a livello di ritmo (ottimo) e varietà di situazioni.
    In definitiva un’opera consigliata senza remore a chiunque. Delle piccole criticità di gameplay non gli permettono purtroppo di raggiungere l’eccellenza, ma davvero complimenti ad Asobo Studio, che con un piccolo team di sviluppo ha portato avanti uno sforzo produttivo enorme e ci ha regalato questa piccola perla videoludica.    … Expand

    Taking into account that Asobo Studio has a smaller budget than other studios, the scenarios, castles and environments in general are completely awesome. Is not a perfect game (some minor bugs and, of course, the 30 fps cap). A linear story game as I expected and as Innocence was with more mechanics and a longer duration. In a nutshell, more and better. Highly recommended.

    A really nice story driven game, improving on the first game's mechanics and character development is one of the best ones i have ever seen in a video game. If it had some new mechanics and less walking sim parts this would be an amazing game for me

    A Plage Tale Requiem has a really good Storyline and beautiful Characters/Design. The Graphics (like the chapter with rain in the kingdom) was pure performance and perfection. I Play it on PS5.

    a worthy sequel to the first game.
    the gameplay is nice but they could have added more weapons and more freedom of action and the basic resources more accessible! I HOPE SO MUCH FOR A THIRD GAME IN THE FUTURE!

The bond between Hugo and Amicia is one of the best in gaming and the graphics are absolutely beautiful. Sadly the game runs at a locked 30 fps but it more than makes up for it with all the rats on screen and some of the best graphics in gaming unlike Gotham knights which runs at 30 fps but somehow has worse combat and graphics than Arkham knight from 2015.

    The gameplay is also very satisfying and it rewards quick thinking and cunning. The voice acting is also top notch especially for Amicia. Lastly i won't spoil anything but the ending for this game will make you cry and it will definitely stick in your head for a few days. It is one of the most shocking endings I've ever seen in a video game.    … Expand

    Best game I have ever played. Incredible voice acting, an emotional and touching bond between brother and sister, gorgeous graphics, incredible music, and a very touching and emotional story that stays with you for weeks and weeks after you finish the game. Play only if you are a story focused gamer. If you liked the Last of Us, you will love this!

    Great game. Graphics look good and the story is amazing and also something different then most games. Where it lacks is combat, sometimes it is very frustrating and annoying so much that you want to quit and never pick it up again. But the story makes wanna complete it. So -2 for the combat and is an 8.

    It's a really masterpiece. The story was really powerful and the ending was amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. Also the soundtrack and the landscapes was amazing. The only flaw was the AI that never conviced me.

    بالنهاية اللعبة مطبقه مفهوم ال Psychological Realism بالقصة والقيمبلاي بشكل مميز وهذا اللي عجبني من الاول.

    This game lives from its story and characters. I love how you never feel alone when playing. The interaction between the characters during gameplay is so great. You can see the development between Amicia and Hugo during the game and this is not done using cutscenes. It’s great that you get to know plenty of other characters and can enjoy their company too.

    The graphics, sound, voices and music are really satisfying and atmospheric and it’s absolutely beautiful to watch, hear and walk through it.

    It’s a fair price for the game and totally worth it. So go and get it. You won’t regret it.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was worried that the second outing wouldn't live up to how great the first game was - but my goodness, how wrong was I!

    Amicia has clearly developed as a character since the last game, now noticeably stronger and more determined - she seems to be walking a tightrope of giving into all of the killing though; and the voice actress does a compelling job of conveying all the hurt and angst.

    The game looks phenomenal - one of the best looking games on the PS5, the lower FPS cap really isn't an issue, as it's not a twitch shooter. The sound is also very moving and jarring when needed - it adds yet another dimension of quality to an already great package.

    The story was also brilliant - started slowly, but pulls you in more and more. Very few games have me genuinely caring for the characters; but Requiem had me rooting for all, and the conclusion was a real tear-jerker. I get waiting and hoping that the end wasn't what it was, expecting Hugo to pop up - but alas.

    This is easily one of the best games I have played - I always held TLOU as my greatest game, but this might topple it, or at the least sit alongside.

    Hope this gets GOTY but sadly the public decide that, and people will likely vote some cookie cutter trash like COD.

    This, and Innocence, are fantastic adult games - I urge anyone who loves a great story to buy them both, you will not be disappointed.    … Expand

    Everything is fantastic but the animation of the face while in the live game ( not in the cutscenes) is poor just like the robot, the story excellent but it's not good enough, I was expecting more explanation for the plague, I don't care about fps too much but in ps5 was enjoying a little pit

But the chemistry wit Kit Connor's Lucas is    The Perfect Sequel

    It's s great game with a very adult plot. The artistic direction is incredibly satisfactory. It has some performance issues but overall they are minor since they only occur un specific areas. Most important, they are a 2AA studio.

    Gave it a 10 to up the overtall rating. This is an 8.6 outa 10 for me. The combat and stealth is holding this game back. But the story and characters in this game is fantastic, the performance of amicia’s actress is flawless and is one of the best perfomance in a game ever.

Definitely the best game of the year for me, i value story and plot a lot and i miss games that take it as seriously as they did in A Plague Tale. From captivating characters to a well-constructed and well-guided narrative during gameplay, different styles of combat, make you feel in the shoes of someone with no specific training like Amicia, graphics i don't even speak, how beautiful...the game has points that can improve like all the others but overall it's an amazing and unique experience, at least for me, the second only game that made me cry for a long time.… Expand

And I do have to say that it still requires a lot of optimization. However, don't let that scare you away, the story is extremely well written, it manages to add a lot of lore to the story already established by the first one without making it too confusing or overwhelming, and what an ending, it made me tear up, and it will absolutely break your heart.     beautiful graphics, great voice acting & well told story with plenty of tears shed through the story. My game ran well on the PS5 but a higher frame rate would of been nice. I also liked the menu's UI and the use of the dualsense controller was perfect. 70% through the the game the stealth and sneaking around gets old.

    This game hits right in the feels. Beside the fact that it's absolutely breathtaking gorgeous in case of graphics, the storytelling and pacing is just amazing. I really loved to play this one.

    I loved this game. The first game (innocence) was great but this game....just blows it out of the water. Asobo studio took everything they established in the first game to the next level. The story, the environments, the characters, the voice acting and the freedom you get with how you want to play the game, everything is so so good!     People complaining about this game being capped at 30 FPS, I think if you knew this fact and bought the game and complained, you are the problem, not the developer. The first part of the game was very engaging, in contrary to the late game.     A great story, fun gameplay. One of the best games I’ve played in years. From start to finish I couldn’t stop playing. All the characters are written fantastically and you feel for them as the story continues and was saddened by the ending. If they ever release a 3rd installment I’ll buy it in a heartbeat.

    This 2nd part is even better than the 1st. the Story is amazing, the characters are well written and i would recommend it 100%. The only issue i´m not giving it a 10 is the frame drops on PS5. But you should definitely play it.

    This game is amazing!
    The story is so dynamic, touching and moving. The graphics are stunning and very detailed in detail. Mechanics and puzzles were involved as well as stealth tactics. Every single character has a profound role.
    Simply a masterpiece!

    Better in all aspects than Innocence. The sense of discovery in some chapters made me thought in From Software games. Art is great, maybe the best this generation, gameplay has improved from Innocence, great narrative (although if I prefer the simpler and more realistic story of the first one), amazing music... Not perfect, but it has soul.

    a wonderful game. the story was able to touch and surprise. the characters have received an interesting development. the only small problem was optimization, which sometimes interfered with immersion. a project that cannot be missed. thank you for the emotions! and special thanks for the support of the Russian language ❤

    THE INNOCENCE IS GONE
    A Plague Tale: Requiem takes place six months after the first game, where Amicia and Hugo defeated Grand Inquisitor and foiled the Inquisition’s malicious plans. Hugo still has the sickness, Macula, in him. They thought his powers were under control, but they are awoken yet again. With that comes the rats that literally destroys everything and kill all people in    THE INNOCENCE IS GONE
    A Plague Tale: Requiem takes place six months after the first game, where Amicia and Hugo defeated Grand Inquisitor and foiled the Inquisition’s malicious plans. Hugo still has the sickness, Macula, in him. They thought his powers were under control, but they are awoken yet again. With that comes the rats that literally destroys everything and kill all people in sight. But, there’s a hope; in Hugo’s dreams he sees an island where he thinks lies the cure for his illness.

    So, that’s pretty much the basic storyline. It surely has twitst and turns, and all kinds of new characters are introduced in the game. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but this time Amicia and Hugo has new moves in they use. The only thing that I must say immediately, that the game introduces new moves throughout the game, but then they aren’t basically used anymore in the game. It introduces lots of other things, but seems like they had too many ideas and the game would’ve benefit for it being more simple.

    THE SAME GAMEPLAY ISSUES THAN BEFORE
    Then comes the bugs that might just ruin your gameplay completely. There are scenarios where I had to sneak amongst the enemies and also deal with the rats. Amicia had lots of different items she can use, then there’s the light that have to be used against the rats (because they are afraid of it), then there’s the soldiers that varies, meaning some I can kill and some I cannot because they have armor on them. So it is a lot to think about and to do. In these situations, where even millimeter out of light might get me eaten by rats, and I have a NPC with me that might suddenly run somewhere and die. Or the janky gameplay in general get me killed. So, there’s lots of dying and fustration with this game, in all together. So don’t expect perfect and polished game at all, it still has the same issues like they had with the first game.

    What comes to the overall length of the game; it is a way too long. This is an issue what I see in lots of games. They don’t know when to just cut things off. Every time when I thought that the game is about to end, a new thing happened and the game went on. It was very much like this: a peaceful moment with Amicia and Hugo and everything is fine, then the rats came and destroyed the whole city and ate all the people, then they have to survive through it and soldiers, then a peaceful moment again… so it was very much rinse and repeat. It only took so much until the effect of it dies.

    Visually, the game looked a-ma-zing!! I took so many screenshots and used photo mode all the time. The game is gory and dreadful, and it’s not even shy about it. The game is very emotional and the storytelling is good. What makes it even better, is the voice acting, which was great, but might get little used to first. The relationship between Amicia and Hugo feels genuine, and it’s very endearing.

    The puzzles, the few that were introduced, weren’t that hard to solve. There was only one puzzle that took me a while to solve.

    THE FINAL VERDICT
    A Plague Tale: Requiem is a good game. It is longer than the first one. It introduces new characters, huge areas and cities, new gameplay mechanics and graphically it is a very polished game. I liked the story, even though the game was a way too long and streched. Do I recommend it, is it a must play? Yes, it is.    … Expand

Ran the game at max settings 1440p ultrawide which held on average 90 fps. The game was so beautiful graphically and I loved the gameplay too. I really am shocked by the reviews I've seen for this. A Plague Tale Requiem is a massive step up from the prior title and a straight up triple-A game now. Everything is improved massively - voice acting, music, environments, story, characters, graphics - I could go on. I couldn't stop thinking about this game between sessions, and I'mAs someone who was quite dissapointed with A Plague Tale Innocence, I am shocked by how much I enjoyed this. A Plague Tale Requiem is a massive step up from the prior title and a straight up triple-A game now. Everything is improved massively - voice acting, music, environments, story, characters, graphics - I could go on. I couldn't stop thinking about this game between sessions, and I'm writing this review hoping that more people will buy it because the decelopers have earned it! I feel that Requiem is getting the Horizon Forbidden West treatment. Requiem is, like Forbidden West, a massive improvement over the first game, but for some reason it goes unnoticed. People really don't appreciate how much love and effort Asobo have put into this game.

    Yes, there are some framerate stability issues now and then, but nothing that ruins the experience at all. I was glued to the screen from start to finish, and I'm so happy I got to experience this emotional journey. Amicia and Hugo's voice actors deserve special recognition for a flawless performance. Amicia has become one of my favourite characters in gaming - and again, I really didn't enjoy her performance in Innocence, so that just goes to show the improvement! This game is without question a game of the year contender, and I really hope that the developers stick with the characters in this game.

    These days it's rare to get such a high quality singleplayer game with a great length. I have heard critics say that the game is too long and gets too sci-fi. Personally, I cannot understand these claims. The lore and setting - including it's more supernatural elements were fully established in Innocence, and Requiem is true to these in every regard, nothing more nothing less. This game explores the bond between brother and sister and how far you will go to protect someone you love, even if it means losing yourself in the process. If you ask me, that is a far more intruguing story than the inquisition-focused story of Innocence. As far as game length, it's perfect. Innocence was too short and this nails the story and pacing beautifully. I mean, when playing Requiem you keep wanting it to continue because it's so good!

The gameplay is more expansive as well, with different playstyle branches ranging from stealth, aggression and opportunity perks that progress as you go depending on how many lives you take along the way.     By the time A Plague Tale: Requiem concludes, it will feel like being dragged by a pick-up truck, across miles of concrete. The world depicted is a bleak and cruel one with no light at the end of the tunnel. Players will be getting their money's worth, as this is a very long game that is punctuated with lots of gimmicky sequences that add value to the package. The story does have a lot for fans to discuss, and the visuals are amazing, even if they came at the cost of a high frame rate. The gameplay is technically better than the first, but it was never amazing to begin with. The over reliance on prebaked contextual actions and the rigidness of simplistic stealth is something most could expect from a seventh gen console title, not a ninth gen console release.

A continuation of a story that was fine on its own, Requiem delivers one of the most powerful stories ever conceived in a video game. But be wary of the framerate drops on the PlayStation 5 console, which bring their own set of unforeseen despair.
