What can I say about this game it is incredible, best storyline in a game I have ever played I actually got emotional, the controls aren't really that great and the graphics for a PS4 game are really PS3-ish, but other than that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game it is AWESOME

This game starts out as a nice fps with extra elements, quite challenging and fun. Unfortunately towards the end a series of extremely lame and unfun boss battles completely ruins the game.

Absolutely loving this. It's the perfect combination of old school FPS and gripping modern touches. The story is more involving than you might think and the gameplay, visuals and especially the sound are all excellent. My only gripe would be that sometimes you're left not quite sure what to do, but even that kind of adds to the fun and hectic sense of urgency. Some of the negative reviewsAbsolutely loving this. Forget how long it is (I'm taking my time and over 12 hours in with plenty more to go) and forget this complaint, that whine. If you are a true CW fan (and I mean going back to the old, old pre-Wolfenstein 3D days - yes, I'm talking to you!), Wolfenstein the New Order is EXACTLY what you think and hope it would be. The plot is surprisingly engrossing albeit simple. Controls are tight and responsive and pulling the trigger is always satisfying. The stealth elements work well enough but are only ever useful for taking out commanders to stop them calling reinforcements. Nine times out of ten the situation will dissolve into a gunfight anyway. You will spend a lot of time scouring the environment and looting the dead for munitions and supplies which can get tedious, although you will go through rounds faster than you can blink so this becomes an essential ritual.

Regrettably, the sound mixing is absolutely shocking. Imagine you have set your dialogue/music/sound effects levels to the value that you desire... Ok, now when a cutscene is triggered the volume increases by couple of decibels and if there is music in that cutscene then get ready to lose some of your hearing. Whenever music starts playing during a cutscene it is always incredibly loud, so loud in fact that it drowns out the dialogue. It is inadvertently quite comedic when you end up with BJ Blazkowicz muttering dialogue about the horrors of war only to be drowned out by the soundtrack, as if he is some lunatic talking in your ear whilst your are trying to listen to your music on the bus.

This is not just a great FPS, it's a great game overall.

An over-the-top shooter that will quench your Nazi killing thirst. The game doesn't include a multiplayer, nor was I that impressed with the single player campaign. However, the game does do one thing well and that is.. kill Nazis. Machinegames could have done better with the next gen versions by including higher resolution textures. Try before buy.

The reason? I consider myself more of an "old school" gamer, very much intrigued by games (or re-workings of games) that I used to play once upon a time. I spent many hours as a child in front of my computer monitor playing Wolfenstein 3D, so I was excited to see the game given a modern tweak. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the story and a bit overwhelmed by the level of difficulty/controls.

As far as shooter games go, this one is probably pretty good. I don't usually dabble in this genre, so I'm not really the one to be asking about this sort of thing. But, it seems straightforward enough: you have objectives to meet and you have a kill a lot of Nazi's and Nazi robots/creatures to get them accomplished. The controls were a bit difficult for me to pick up, but I will readily admit that could be due to my newness to the PS controller after years of Nintendo/XBox.

Anyway, the main reason I'm cutting ties with this game after only playing through a few of the missions is because it didn't provide any of the nostalgia factor that I was looking for. I really was hoping that the game would have more nods to its history, but after a number of hours playing it I concluded that wasn't the point. "New Order" is more about moving forward than it is about harkening back to a 1990s PC shooter.

Thus, a 100% objective review of this game would probably bump it up a star (or maybe even two if you really, really like shooters). However, for what I was looking for, this game didn't cut it. I had to play on the easiest difficulty level to make any progress, and I kept looking for nods to the past when none were to be given. My advice to potential purchasers would be to examine what exactly you want from the game: If you are only buying it for the "Wolfenstein" name, you might very likely be disappointed.

This game is now my new obsession. HOLLY **** SH#%!

First, the story is great. Extremely adult, sensitive topics were dealt with great, and they really make you wanna kill these Nazi sons of Bit@#$ %! I did not expect the story to be so well done and for me to be so engrossed. The music is great, the graphics are amazing for the year this came out on, and I cant wait for more.

During the beginning of the game you have to make a big choice, and that choice stayed with me the whole game (did i make the right decision) which begs for an extra play through. The game reminded me a bit of bioshock in how it's narrative was played out in first person.

AlsoI've never played a game that makes each shot feel as impactful as it was in this game. Not since Killzone 2 have I seen enemies react so realistic.

    Things I would improve on:

Sometimes the game can be too hard. I played on Normal, and sometimes there were parts where I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME GET PAST so I had to temporarily change the difficulty.. but besides this the game is amazing, I actually played the DLC (I rarely do this) and Im happy I did.

Don't buy the DLC unless you reallllly want more or are a huge fan or if you find it on sale as it's only about 6-7 hours in length. It's still a really good prequel to set up events for the main game (and it has some easter eggs if you played the new order first) but if you wanna skip it you won't miss much.

BUY THIS GAME AND SUPPORT LINEAR SINGLE PLAYER GAMES!! :D

Can't wait to pick up number 2 soon !

Characters: Characters are acted amazingly and as a result you find it much more easier to grow an attachment with them and are written amazingly as well.

AI: Retarded for the most part they are in some parts fine but in others they are just so dumb and below basic expectations.

The shooting mechanics and guns are very fun and it feels like an old school shooter. The problem comes with the developers using resources to only have a single player game, but it falls short due to jarring cut scenes while in the middle of the action. When it picks up a lot of the time, you enter a cut scene and it's almost a let down. Stealth mechanic is very easy to get into. With that said, full price for a 12 hour single player campaign with lack of multi-player doesn't cut it today. It is great to be back in the Wolfenstein universe, but they should have added up to date multiplayer that we saw in RTCW to make it worth the valuer of a purchase. It's definitely worth playing through, but not until it goes on sale (I would place the value at $29) or hits Playstation Plus as a free game. Complaints about AI were unfounded, that really isn't an issue here.

Next time I hope they design a multiplayer similar to RTCW, or at the very least have more content when they are charging full price like this.

This game is heavily sci-fi and partway through develops an almost Uncharted-like plot but not nearly as ridiculous as Uncharted 1 or 2 and at least as well written, if not better. 2.) The fps element is very nice with different sliding mechanics and a good array of weapons (hooray for weapon wheel) along with upgrades found through miniquests and exploration but almost always on the path towards your goal. The only annoying thing is the occasional "idk where i have to be" and when you are set up against heavy enemies without a realization if it is a "run and use environment" or "miniboss" moment. 3.) The AI is a little off on stealth sometimes but they just as often come running on in from places you forgot about compared to looking over a dead body. Mostly, this just puts them on alert because they can't see you. The downside (and upside) is that only commanders can raise the alarm for additional troops so making a normal trooper suspicious has little consequence. However, stealth is useful but hardly necessary or guaranteed - most of the time, stealth is for removing a few nuisances and commanders before graduating to some classic fps horde/defend/boss fights. And as for the loot system, it quickly becomes manageable (by button spamming) and dual wielding is unwieldy but occasionally necessary. 4.) The graphics behaved fine and only once did I have to restart because in the loading to end a level (and save) my ps4 froze and got caught in an endless loading loop but otherwise I was fine. 5.) The environments are very nice, the perfect mixture of corruption, degredation, futurism, and nazism. Particularly, the first mission did a very nice job of making an interactive tutorial. 6.) (OVERALL) My overall impression, granted I have only played just over half the game i believe (chapter 8 or 9), is that this game is fantastic. It is exactly what it attempts to be: a story-driven, action-packed, player-defined thrillride with moderate replay value and severe doses of Nazi and sci-fi elements. This is a step up from the most recent Wolfenstein games and definitely above the recent fps games that have come out. Basically, this game is just a half-notch under Metro: Last Light in terms of the best fps singleplayer since the Bungie Halo games and may even be as good as the first Bioshock by the time I finish it. (Here is my end rant, mostly just venting about the review which I see in my sidebar now) This game is tried and true fps mixed with a little dishonored and doused in Nazis and sci-fi. It's plain awesome. As for Gamer.nl which says, "why not something new", this is new. This is a reboot of a dying but legendary franchise. What is created here is a perfected game. Not one that is overdone and boring, pulling on ridiculous attempted realism/ conspiracies (recent CoDs and BFs) or that attempts to redefine its core values and makes a repetitive, boring, lack of weapon wheel and complete perversion of perfected game mechanics (Bioshock Infinite). This is a pure, fun, story driven fps that I will replay over the summer. It is a game designed to entertain, to enthrall, to bring back the joy of killing Nazis over and over in style, something sorely missed in an age of games attempting to create a plausible future. So buy this game, sit down, and prepare for a game that combines the two greatest possible features in the most perfect way ever achieved. Nazis + Mechs + Weapon wheel + silencers + takedowns + energy weapons + prison breaks + alternate history + THE GERMANS ARE SPEAKING GERMAN (WHAT?!?) == pure awsome Expand

I have read a lot of reviews that this is a classic shooter on a next gen system but it works. They are not wrong. You find yourself just settling in quite nicely with the sex, guns and Nazi killing, as the controls are fairly standard which in my opinion is a good thing.

Those alone make this game an easy 7, but what pushes this game to solid 8 is the fantastic story and characters. While playing this game I wanted Blazkowicz stab all those Nazi !@#$ers, I wanted him to take Anya to pound town and I wanted him to finish his noble quest. It is a testament to any game that has a story that compels you forward. So a solid 8.

Ok, just finished Wolfenstein: New Order. And by that, I mean I have just finished one of the best story-driven, single-player experiences I HAVE EVER HAD.

Seriously, the story, characterization and voice acting were second to none... it was like watching an awesome movie and getting to play the best bits. I have rarely ever seen so much attention to detail go into a game where the setting and feel are concerned, I believed every single moment of every single chapter, my suspension of disbelief complete. The environments were perfectly rendered, everything just looked and felt right. Whoever wrote and realized this story and script, and created the amazing characters, did so far beyond what I would consider the call of duty (no pun intended) in this kind of game. It was clearly a labour of love.

Gameplay-wise, it got the balance just right. Sure, the AI had varying degrees of intelligence, and there were a couple of annoying sections, but those were few and far between. The stealth sections actually worked for the most part (although using L3 to take-down and throw knives gave me rage on occasion), and the weapons were ALL genuinely useful and imo perfectly balanced. Best laser ever imo, especially with the later targeting upgrade, it really added another unique dynamic to the gameplay. I didn't egt all the extras or perks, but I was playing just for the story progression, wanting to see what happened next, like a good book.

Playing on a PS4 is different to what I am used to, but I think I got the hang of it, and I accept that fine aiming and the occasional frustrations will be experienced with an FPS game on a gamepad. Thankfully, that didn't happen too much, the notable exception being the London Monitor boss, the final part of killing him which was tricky due to the sticks.

Looks-wise, to me as a semi-retired PC gamer the graphics looked great. Of course you lose resolution and anti aliasing, but then you don't need those to enjoy and appreciate a game, they are a luxury that is easy to forget when you get immersed in a game of this quality. The frame rate was buttery smooth throughout, helped I noted by some blurring techniques fading out the detail in a mostly unobtrusive way during certain sections.

All in all this was an absolutely superlative game, a true AAA title, and a throwback to the glory days when FPS's were big and badass, expect WNO takes the old formulas and adds so many awesome set pieces and visual effects and useful gameplay mechanisms that it's like an evolution of the traditional FPS. Like that the developers of the originals would have done had they access to modern PC and console technology.

An amazing gaming experience that I shall remember, even if I can't see myself playing through again (but I'm like that).

    A Rollercoaster of Emotions
Wolfenstein the New Order is a 9 and a half hour long first person shooter set in an alternate reality where the Nazis won in world war 2
Without spoiling the story, you play as us special forces operative captain blazkowicz, who’s been out of it for 14 years to learn its 1960 and the us lost
And you set out to rescue your squad and of course take down some Nazis…
The New Order is probably one of the most intriguing first person shooters I’ve played through…
not only thanks to the story of living through alternate history.. But because of how your characters story is told, there’s revenge, love, everything… your journey feels personal instead of generic...
You’re not some forgettable throwaway soldier like you get in most every other first person shooter campaign
And because of this this campaign immerses you deep inside of its world…
This isn’t your typical run and gun campaign..
There’s tons of variety here, missions will have you scaling buildings for targets... going in with stealth, infiltration, and undercover missions…
You never know what the game is going to throw at you keeping the campaign feeling fresh…
There are a variety of weapons and enemies to deal with, and the game mixes things up with a laser gun you get to cut through chain and metal in the game, giving you alternate routes inside of rooms and again stopping this game from just feeling constantly run and gun… you’re not forced to shoot here most of the time, as you can just go in missions with stealth taking out everyone from behind…
but if you do choose to shoot there are plenty of weapon choices and the ability to dual wield guns..
Enemies drop plenty of ammo... but eventually your laser gun is upgraded and able to shoot with unlimited ammo, though it has to be recharged so you’re not waiting for it to recharge on its own at a painfully slow rate after every couple of shots…
Combat can feel challenging if you’re not the stealthy type... especially thanks to the scouts that will call for back up if you don’t take them out before you start shooting...
You do have health that will regenerate slightly... but there are health packs and armor around which seem in abundance at the beginning... but towards the end you’ll be begging for them...
Mission structure all for the most part feels the same.. You’re given a map which rarely helps... I found myself just stumbling around the map until I found the item I was supposed to interact with...
Not the greatest natural progression... but I only felt lost a few times throughout my journey to the end..
I was having a lot of fun with this game thanks to its story and level design... however for me the 2nd half of this game really starts to feel a bit generic and I was ready for this game to be over hours before the final showdown…
While I do feel the final stretch of the new order is a drag, load times are painfully slow, and the occasional lock picking in this game is the worst and most annoying lock picking in video game history
The New Order offers a really unique experience worth picking up and seeing out through to its end

The main character, William 'BJ' Blazkowicz could have been a stereotypical nazi-killing action hero stereotype. Instead, he is a combination of the Allies' rage during WWII. He is complex and displays his emotion readily, unlike many of his other video game action hero counterparts.

The gameplay is as varied as the story and characters, with stealth sections (if you choose) and outright gun fights. It can be difficult when it needs to be. I would certainly call Wolfenstein a success.

All in all, from the perspective of someone who prefers RPGs and is a lover of Zelda, I can say that I had fun playing Wolfenstein. But if you're someone with my preferences, and you want to play a shooter, I would recommend trying something else.

Being over 3 year late to the party and enjoying Bethesda's DooM alot (not to mention some critics that I liked Wolfenstein) , I wanted to strap myself in for a ride through one of the game series that pushed for first person shooters to become mainstream. Unfortunately, The New Order is not always lenient order.

The game struggles with narrative very much. I understand some people don't care about their narratives and stories and want to kill Nazis, but to establish a plot and try to involve different characters alongside pacing is just all over the place. Blazkowicz is the main protagonist and goes on a mission to assassinate a major Nazi war figure in WW2 to end it. The mission fails and critically wounded he stays in a coma for 14 years, only to wake up shoving a utensil right into a Nazi's face. From there it's a revenge story tied with the typical rebel Star Wars style story that try to fight the world power of Nazi Germany. From here there is alot of problems. Although the alternate history concept is very good and even having some background to establish it, the main plot is so mediocre that I lost any interest in anyone but Blazkowicz. His main team are generic stereotype labeled "insert cliche here" types that really have no depth and intrigued for me to care about their plights. The Nazis themselves are much the same, with the antagonists lacking any sort of depth or complexity and instead are mustache twirling baddies that just give us a reason to kill them.

I don't expect master story work from this game (as the way the world and level design works echoes Half Life 2's sewers and sometimes lack of music) but to make a narrative and write it the way this game does, I had no real draw or just laughed at it, like when Blazkowicz casually says he's on the (bleep)ing moon. In fact, if his character wasn't so funny with the way he talks in a American patriot soldier stereotype and ASMR style, he would have easily annoyed me but kept me fairly entertained for what he says. The rest are so forgettable that I just block myself out.

But gameplay is clearly the most important for this game and it works fairly well. You have different weapons to take down targets like shotguns, assault rifles, laser beams and throwing knifes that all have their cathartic advantages when killing things. The stealth, however is very lame: enemies will die in one hit from throwing knives despite being covered in armor and using the knife takedowns don't feel gratifying and more like going through the motions. It's serviceable, but to not have a better execution is weak in my opinion. It also makes no sense at points where I would vaporize targets right in front of other enemies and still not trigger a full scale fight. That's due to the bugged AI that is can be terribly bad and funny. Enemies will glitch in walls or behind cover, appear out of nowhere, and do completely moronic tactics like throwing grenades at walls and bounce back at their feet and die. Stealth is hilariously flawed, as you will be seen sometimes in broad daylight AND make loud sounds even crouched and no one attacks instant, rather they gasp and only get curious. Considering this is the other half of the game for players, this makes stealth sections passable only for the humor and of course killing of Nazis.

Which of course Wolfenstein's greatest strength, killing the Nazi soldiers and units is quite satisfying mostly. You go up against grunts, super soldiers, attack dogs and other units that make it challenging for you to succeed in at certain points. A few fights I got myself into that stealth couldn't be possible and I died a good deal before winning. I also "like" the designs of them too, making it even more of a reason to kill them all and end their abominable creations. The music accompanying is solid, but sometimes felt like it didn't match the tone at all to what was being on screen. The exploration the game has for certain areas is pretty cool, but the linearity of the levels only make it a tease rather than a full step on allowing multiple different ways to go through it, which is due to the narrative. The perk system is nice, the guns feel a bit wimpy on packing a punch and the graphics are ok.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a good game, but only because of the catharsis for killing Nazis. If you expect a multiplayer, a good story, great stealth or anything like that, then you should play something else. Being three years late and having bugs STILL in the game is no excuse or reason at this point, but should you want to let loose some rage. Wolfenstein: The New Order mostly has you covered.

Blazkowicz, the new leader of the Resistance, he works with a rag-tag group of resistance members to rescue the world from oppression of the Nazis. he makes a great protagonist in the story and keeps the intensity and atmosphere alive with his noir- esque storytelling and pacing.

Game Play: the array of futuristic twists on era-appropriate weaponry are impressive. the controls are simple to pick up and will not cause you to accidentally press something you didn't mean to. the shooting is accurate and clean, and enjoyment to play it was similar to a nice -controlling shooter game. Wolfenstein TNO has a many hours of play ( about 8+ hours of play) with it still remaining fresh and not burning out half way through the story and has many collectible and challenges that help extend the play time. Wolfenstein TNO also has awesome replay value.

Sound: the music keeps the intensity and ambiance going with a nice selection of heavy rock songs and slow mellowed tones during various parts of the mission. the weapon sound and auxiliary sound effects are clear, alerting, detailed and beneficial.

Graphics: although they aren't incredibility stunning, they are superb and the strength of the ps4 , the accent the shading and variety cf colors are a nice change form the the original palette of the 90's era games.

Overall: Wolfenstien TNO is a fantastic continuation of the reboot and a excellent addition to the FPS genre and a revitalizing take on a often abused genre. It is a classic in the making and still holds strong to this day. If you are a fan of the series or just looking a FPS to play and pass the time, you will not regret it. 9/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wolfenstein: The New Order is a fantastic return to the world of B.J. Blaskowicz and his Nazi killing crusade. The story is outstanding and has a surprising amount of emotional depth. As it should be, the gunplay is visceral and satisfying, and has a flawed but overall decent stealth system. The alternate-history Nazi Europe is incredibly interesting, and while the game does have its silly moments(mission on the Moon), it still feels relatively grounded and accurate to the 1960s setting. The music, composed by the very talented Mick Gordon, is raw, brutal and energetic, combining synths, guitars and loud percussion. My only complaint would be the length of the story. While by no means a short game(15-20 hrs), I wouldn't recommend this game at full price, but for $40 or under, this is a fantastic experience that never lets up. Expand

Level designs and set pieces are great fun, but what makes TNO stand out is a storyline that is appeals to human nature, it is a frightening look at a Nazi run world with racism and extreme nationalistic ideals perverting a world of genocide and the destruction of culture through brute force. It doesn't shy away from showing the trauma or the base urge of characters to let loose with sex and passion - and you probably would if you were living in a realm where being found would result in instant death or scientific experimentation for the rest of your short life.

TNO succeeds where others fail because it knows exactly what it wants to do, deliver a FPS experience over several tight levels interwoven with a personal, emotionally charged tale. It refuses to allow itself to be distracted by money, dlc and map packs and weapon skins. It knows, when you're done with it, you're done and it does its best to make sure than when you do finish, you remember it forever, for all the right reasons.

Calling a game simple and uncomplicated may seem like an insult but that is not the case when it comes to Wolfenstein: The New Order with the developers setting out, and succeeding, in making a modern day old school shooter. Its not totally without its flaws (some missions involve the usual 'errand boy' nonsense of finding items for people, and the final boss is both dull and far more difficult than anything else that comes before it for example) but for the most part this is an over the top and very entertaining title.

I haven't been so impressed with an FPS since I played Spec Ops:The Line. Both games have great designs and gamepaly, and brilliant plots. I connected with all of the characters, none felt throw-away, and bought all of the arcs each character went through. I felt alone, outnumbered, and outgunned in every scenario, yet I felt empowered and determined to strategize and take out the army one-by-one. Typically with games, especially FPS, I just want to hurry up to the action, and kill everyone quickly without feeling forced into having to 'plan' (where panning consists of just standing and waiting for people to attack or exploiting set design flaws and ai flaws). With The New Order, I was being flanked from every doorway, ambushed, aggressively stalked by some enemies, while others stayed in cover and took their time. I had to adapt to every level. Conserving ammo, staying near any power source I could find to charge electric weapons, and avoiding staying still for too long for fear of being flanked. It felt like I was actually there, and not just controlling a limited player in a limited level with dumb enemies. I had to outsmart and use the right gun for the right position/enemy. I liked everything about the controls and gameplay, and my only regret is not realising how useful the maps really were, there are clues on every map of where gun upgrades, maps and other useful things are hidden. I found myself exploring levels more and more as the game went on, just to find armour/health and extra ammo. Grenades are a very useful took in this game, and are best saved for armoured enemies.

This is a full in-depth game. Just the prologue alone took a large amount of time to get through (I initially thought it was the end credits). Levels are quite big and every chapter feels unique, something most fps games fail to achieve, as set designs and repetitious missions tend to blend together.

I've owned this game for a while, but with the surge of 'must play' games out in recent years it took a low priority, but I now wish I played it sooner, absolutely supersedes any recent fps.

Once you've recovered, you realize the nazis have won WW2, and with the help of some resistance fighters, you must put an end to the nazi reign. I thought the story was good albeit with a few cliches that sort of revealed what the 3rd act was gonna be like. To know what I'm talking about, think about Dishonored or The Dark Brotherhood questline in Skyrim. I also liked the concept of nazis winning WW2 and seeing all their mysterious contraptions being created like mechanical hounds or panzer solders. It does add a nice touch of flavor to enemy variety. I also liked a lot of the side characters. A few of them have nice personalities and good backstories along with being well voiced. My biggest problem with the characters is with our hero and his love interest. Blazkowicz has such an uninteresting personality that I got bored of him 1 hour into my playthrough. He rarely talks during the game only during a few cutscenes or when he's having a flashback and he has to say out loud what he's thinking about, he has no distinguishable traits outside of loving to kill nazis, and in some of the more engaging moments of the story, he just stands there saying nothing and making the scene a little more awkward. I also didn't like his love interest Anya. I just couldn't buy their love since they don't really do anything outside of having sex and discussing mission plans to advance the plot. They didn't get any scenes together to develop their characters which in turn, made the finally much less engaging to me then if Machine Games had improved their characters. Overall, the story's fine and outside of our unbelievable couple, the characters and villains are strong. 7/10

    Gameplay:
Wolfenstein does a few new things to make the gameplay unique. The biggest difference from other shooters is that you can dual-wield any weapons you find in the game as long as they're the same gun. They also added a perk system where instead of earning skill points to unlock these, you complete certain challenges that fall under Stealth, Assault, Tactical, and Demolition. If you wanted to, you can actually "boost" to get the unlocks by simple restarting from a checkpoint with all your perk statuses unchanged. You can also use stealth to your advantage which makes the game easy when you have the right perks, dual-wielding suppressed pistols, and/or throwing knives. To make things more easier when you do stealth, the guards rarely seem to notice when their buddy got shot and their body is on the floor. The level design is solid, there are some nice collectables to find, in the beginning, you have to make a choice which will alter the story and gameplay a bit, and like I said earlier, there are a nice variety of enemies to fight, but this is also one of the game's problems to me. Towards to end of the game, Machine Games does what I HATE in these kinds of games, and that's shoving every single special enemy down my throat. There are sections where you'll be fighting some standard enemy soldiers which is fine, but then you also have to fight 10+ rocket launcher enemies (also come with heavy armor), 5+ heavily armored minigun enemies, and 2 panzer soldiers which are the hardest enemies to kill. I really can't stand when games just throw everything they got at you towards the end of the game just to be "challenging" when in reality, they're just compensating for their dumb A.I., and the A.I. here is pretty generic. They don't do anything unique or smart and end up reminding me of the kind of enemies that appear in Call Of Duty games. Some final things I'll say are that the health system here is cool by allowing you to go beyond your max health by "overcharging it" although it'll fall back to your maximum amount, It's annoying having to manually pick up all items off the ground instead of walking over them, and the weapon wheel on consoles SUCKS since even if you move the analogue stick just a little bit, the arrow goes 90 degrees into the weapon you DIDN"T want. Just get the PC version for the hotkeys. 7/10

    Graphics:
The game looks mediocre on PS4 seeing as how outside of resolution and FPS, everything from textures to facial models looks last gen. 5/10

    Sound:
The games soundtrack and sound effects all sound great in this game with the soundtrack adding some nice tension during the gameplay. 8/10

    Verdict:
The game's good, but it suffers from having a generic protagonist and a generic love interest, some problems with the gameplay, and the last gen visuals. In my opinion, I'll say wait for a price drop before purchasing. For the best experience possible, get this on PC not just because of better graphics, but for the hotkeys. Seriously, the weapon wheel to me is that bad.

MachineGames haven’t exactly reinvented the FPS or even Wolfenstein here, but they have put together a consistently enjoyable, well-crafted action game and given you the motivation to blast your way through its stringier bits. If this is the New Order for Wolfenstein, then this is a promising start.

Thanks to the quality in both concept and function, this is one of the finest first-person-shooters I've ever played, and the best iteration of one of gaming's most storied franchises.

We would have preferred a greater freedom of action for the levels, rather than the linear and driven that we've found, but they are trifles for a title that deserves to be played at least once.
