Sep 6, 2017Simply awful game everything about it is just tragic
As a horror game running from a janitor and random ghosts popping up on screen just isn't cutting it -
Jun 13, 2022Unlike the original 2001 version, in which each sound in the game causes a sense of fear, the remake version has a flat and unnatural sound effect, which is a shame.

Mar 5, 2018White Day isn’t at the top of its genre, but it’s a solid entry. The real surprise, though, is the effective post-release work that the developers did to fix their game and transform it into something worthwhile after starting it off as a frustrating failure. There are plenty of issues with taking games away from physical media, but examples like this support the concept — the developers didn’t release an unfinished work, they’d just made bad design choices. Luckily, the current nature of gaming gave them a chance to turn a mediocre work into a good one, and they were smart enough to take it.

Sep 12, 2017White Day is a bloody scary game. Not just because it is a horror title, but just as much because of the flaws. It contains a very annoying janitor and a frustratingly precise control setup. Because of this the game doesn't live up to what it could be.

Playstation Official Magazine UKSep 7, 2017Cheap jump scares aside, White Day is still as unsettling as it ever was, even 16 years after its debut release. [Oct 2017, p.87]
