A vast and meaningfully dense open world that is stylized will make for fun hours upon hours within the game. Drone and RC mechanics are used well in environmental puzzles but never heavily relied upon. Small details (Such as in the GTA series) are shockingly left out and filled with bizarre Ubisoft touches that don't seem to mesh with the world.

Characters are incredibly caricatured in a "Hack the planet" sort of way and are all incredibly likable. A commentary on Silicone valley, the story presents a highly satirized version of the tech culture in San Francisco but in a brand of Ubisoft humor that has finally found its feet and is far away from the GTA style of satire. Also the game represents the progressive nature of San Francisco at every location that there is NPC's so beware if you are conservative. Although the attacks on the right are surface level and fleshed out into their own stories so divorced from the base attacks later on (See Thruss in the game)

Multiplayer is fun to mess around with, especially during the end game but not fleshed out enough to ensure a rewarding system of play and progression. Season pass and cosmetic packs are unfortunately present.

Level designs are particularly well done with multiple approaches to completing objectives. Enemy AI is more sophisticated in spotting and tracking but suffers the usual Ubisoft enemy fodder when engaged in combat. Marcus's ability to take hits is reduced compared to other Ubisoft titles to try and artificially encourage a non-lethal approach but of course there is a whole upgrade branch dedicated to making him better with guns contradicting this.

Hacking puzzles are easily just moving your drone around and are use only as pacing tools for the flow of the missions. However the missions are incredibly paced and also a ton of fun to replay with new upgrades and different approaches. Environmental puzzles in the open world can be great fun little brain teasers that require scaling buildings, more hacking puzzles, using ramps and motorcycles, crane traversal between buildings but can also be tedious, requiring explosives or you to break the physics with fork and scissor lifts.

Overall a fun time is had in the open world, in missions, hanging out with the characters, exploring the satire hidden among you and petting the dogs around you. One of the best open world games on the current systems it is well worth a look.

But this game is more polished than a brand new instrument, which is what the game is: a beautiful instrument capable of producing the most amazing performances and delighting you with everything. The mechanics (hacking, driving, shooting, parkour) are tight, concise, and beautiful. The only thing that could make them better (for me) would be if I actually played PS4 on a regular basis (I mainly play PC but screw waiting another few weeks I got exams then). The story is, in my opinion, pretty good, but I have yet to get out of the first 2.5 hours that everyone has already seen on YouTube, so take that with a grain of salt. Graphics are stunning, absolutely NO downgrading. The E3 demo is true to the real game.

In summary, it's what Watch Dogs wanted to be, but couldn't because it didn't have anti-autism medicine yet.

Without giving anything away, and with only a couple of hours of play, I'll say this (and will update as I see fit):

Straight from the get go, this is exactly the kind of hacker game I expected from part one. The amount of tools, the funny pop culture references from our own social media, the voice acting (which was already great in part 1), the depiction of S. Francisco. Thanks

Thanks Ubisoft for finally releasing a game worth the hype. And you didn't even hype this one up as much as part 1.. look how well it went.

First of all, the main protagonist in the game is a lot more interesting and upbeat versus Aiden Pierce in the first game. There is LOTS of humor in this game, but still some serious moments where it is appropriately leveled out. Tons of really fun and interesting missions, with a huge array of side content, so there's never really a dull moment during the gameplay experience. Not only that, but the variety of the missions are great as well. The game never felt boring or repetitive the entire time I was playing it. The game being set in San Francisco adds much more excitement with all the cool scenery. The game includes tons of upbeat music and even some cool interactions between civilians on the street. The story was amazing, with the right pacing and tone. It didn't feel rushed at the end like some games do. I also love the fact that you have a remote control car and drone to use. You can use these items to mark enemies, go through vents to get to areas you wouldn't be able to access normally, and even use them to hack certain items. There are so many cool details in this game, it's hard to name them all here. Overall, Ubisoft did a really amazing job with this one, and I couldn't of had more fun playing it. Expand

Where the first game left me feeling awfully reminiscent of all other open world metropolises (i.e. GTA, Infamous, Mafia, etc), this one brings me into a wonderful new world. This is a very surprising game made by Ubisoft. Usually, they do graphical downgrades and repetitive story. But now, all of that's different. Ubisoft kept their promise. The parkour system is very well-done, though it still has its flaws. Movement is very fluid and instead of a standard walking, Marcus will jog at a brisk pace. The "hacking" mechanics are back from the first game, with the new ability to manipulate vehicles. Pipe puzzles are back, which can be an annoyance for some, but I enjoyed them for the most part. The story has a good length, and features topical issues which will hit home for many people. Famous tech companies are parodied, with Google as Nudle and Facebook as Invite, among others.

The story is the most inclusive I have ever seen in a video game. Every sexuality is represented, and every race. I felt Watch Dogs 2's locale was just as vibrant as the real San Francisco. The civilians in the world react to each other, and aren't robotic or static. The characters are all unique, with their eccentricities and quirks. The multiplayer is fun and engaging, but might not be enough for players to warrant revisiting the game. After completion, multiplayer is the only thing left, along with co-op specific missions, a PvP mode and a bounty hunter mode. Overall, the game exceeded my expectations.

It is a prime example that Ubisoft does listen and makes improvements for the betterment of their games. Watch Dogs 2 is the sophomore installment in the Watch Dogs series developed by Ubisoft. It follows the story of hacker Marcus Holloway and DedSec with returning character exposing corporations and groups for acts against humanity and liberties.

The gameplay is much better as there is way more capabilities that Marcus has to do in this game that makes the experience beautiful. You can plan missions easier and approach things in different ways. Combat is a huge improvement. Gathering altogether, the story stays involved everywhere you go as civilians are way more responsive. Driving system is a major improvement.

I like the vendetta story from the first installment but as this story evolves, it shows a major improvement where most users would enjoy a lot more. The characters are a lot less bland and more fun than the first game. The story is about taking down the man kind of just like Assassins Creed: Syndicate taking down sectors of their power one-by-one before the ultimate demise of the enemy. It is really refreshing and better for the series. The location is amazing with San Francisco, Oakland, Marin Island and Silicon Valley. Just an absolute perfect location for the series' concepts.

Design is undeniably beautiful with outstanding graphics and FPS with minor bugs. I do believe Ubisoft could have taken even more time to improve civilian design and some design aspects releasing this just like the trailer and demo they gave us. Not entirely delivering, but the game itself redeems this aspect.

To summarize, Ubisoft did a really good job on this one and once you get right into the story and ignore the minor bugs, you are in for a ride. This is definitely an improvement from the first installment but I do still believe Ubisoft should take 3 to 4 years to develop the next title as there is definitely an opening for the future. Watch Dogs has a more interesting future due to the greatness and redemption with this installment.

The tutorial was boring, and the characters extremely cheesy, but once you get into the solid gameplay its a fun game. Npc reactions are hilarious (They react to you when you take pictures of them, show your guns, and you can do a number of actions, such as flipping them off, dancing, and even flirting with them, male or female (yikes)) and the environments are (mostly) gorgeous. The map is pretty big and fun to explore.
CONS: The driving takes some getting used to, and I hate the fact that you can only carry two weapons at a time. If your'e looking to cause mass destruction like GTA 5, it is a bit harder to do in this game. Also, there are still no planes or helicopters you can drive around in. I can see how it would make the open world feel shorter, but it still would be nice to have. There are a few more smaller problems I have with the game but all in all its pretty solid. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

The best thing I loved about graphics was the leaves falling from trees, and how amazing the city of San Francisco is. I like how this game is more based on hacking than shooting, which points out the title of the game. They also managed to deal with the driving issues Watch Dogs has, but still it is not perfect. Some enemies are a little bit like bulletproof, but it is not really an issue. Online features are not really so good as the game, they could have improved it, but still you can spend some few extra hours on online mode as well. Expand

It showcased a new way of interacting in a sandbox game with the use of a intricate smart phone that can hack city traffic lights or sewage explosions. The game was unbelievably hyped for the look of the game and the many mechanics that was promised for the final retail only to end with a disappointing payoff as the graphics were downgraded to function with the 6th generation consoles with half of the mechanics removed shortly before the release. Watch Dogs was heavily criticized for being very underwhelming and not living up to the expectations of the hype based on the excellent E3 2012 demo. The game was also criticized for having a unlikable protagonist and a story was stretched that it was hard to really understand the actual motive of the main protagonist goals. The game wasn't all bad though. The hacking in Watch Dogs was a fun addition to the game, using it to advanced through difficult situations and evading pursuers. Now with the sequel released a week ago, does the game take bigger steps than it's predecessor or does it fall in the same line as the first?

Story - This time, the player controls a different protagonist named Marcus Holloway, a hacker that joined the hacker group named Dedsec in which him and his teammates try to take down Blume and the ct0s system that monitors everyday lives in which also oversees habits that determine the payments to coverage for anything. The story and characters are more light hearted and humorous at times which is an exact opposite of the mood based on the first Watch Dogs, which was serious and dark. Marcus as a character is more likable than the first protagonist Aiden Pierce, as Marcus is more relaxed and easy going to relate to, but Marcus is too much of the "norm" to really feel for the character struggles. The best one out of the bunch is Wrench which I wished the game was based on more with his snappy personality and carefree attitude.

Graphics - Watch Dogs 2 sets in a recreation of San Francisco with beautiful scenery and accurate depictions of actual San Francisco. Without restrictions of the 6th generation consoles, they can optimize the game to work even better than the first. Character models look fantastic with nice textures on each main NPC. The lighting of the game also illuminates better as shading envelopes into a better layout than the first. The only problem I have is when it rains in the game, it doesn't look as good as it did on the first, which actually made the first Watch Dogs look above average as the streets were glistering and heavy on the streets on Chicago. Here, it's just mediocre to look at.

Gameplay - Watch Dogs 2 still retains the hacking ability but with more options. With the ct0s 2.0 system integrating throughout San Francisco, Marcus gets different abilities such as hacking into cars or setting up proximity bombs around circuit-breakers to neutralize enemies with an electric shock to disrupting phone interruptions in a 25 meter radius. There is so much variety for each mission structure which gives the game a more fluid design on it's gameplay.

Overall, I am enjoying the game with its new setting, characters, and gameplay options. The few gripes with this game though is the multiplayer is not working at all and once I was done with the game, there was nothing really to do after except trophy hunting. For right now, I would say wait for a sale or until Ubisoft patches the multiplayer to make the consumer get what they are paying for.

    4) Storyline. Yes, sometimes it could be cheesy and kinda stupid (well DUH, it's about hipster-hackers going against the big tech Corporations and such), but it's actually ends so well and the build up is enjoyable. Plus some nerdy/geeky dialogues, like who is better - Alien or Predator and such. =)

    Cons:
1)You play as the antisocial hipster-hacker (or as they call themselves) hackivist group, which are sometimes so naive...oh GOD, SO NAIVE!
2)Most of the latest missions had to be done (for me at least) with drone + bombs upgrade, because going all guns blazing mostly suicide and man, there is a **** of people you will be either killing or knocking out, considering that you are barely past your 18-20?
3)99.9% missions will be done by the main hero - Marcus, which is odd, when your buddies are always going around about the whole internet brotherhood, Dedsec name and such. It goes like this: Marcus, we found where is the X enemy is hiding and we need you to hack all the data and stealing some info. Translation - Marcus, we will be talking with you over the radio while you kill bunch of guys, kill more guys, when they will call for the help and then congratulate us on the job well done!

TL;DR When i started playing this game i saw there almost a solid 7/10 and nothing more, but as i slowly played my way through, doing some side missions, encountering other players online, finish storyline i knew that i cant give nothing less than 8/10.

Better than first game, very good graphic, cool hacking and no need for guns. Smartphone and jo-jo are enough for combat. Only bad side is story. And I am glad that map is not too big...

Watch Dogs 2 is a sequel that is better is some respects and not so much in others. While the hacking has not only been improved, but expanded upon, it's narrative and main characters are the main detracting points from it being better than the original Watch Dogs.

I love the first watch dogs, though it suffers from some downgrade problems, but it is still one of the best open world games I played. The second one improve that in every aspect.A better protagonist,a better map,a better story, and a much much better gameplay mechanics.Great Job Ubisoft, this game is way better than Mafia3

After the complete downgrade disaster of Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2 is back and it’s prettier than ever. Sometimes, the sequel drags in terms of a cliché narrative that was heavily influenced by Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot, but the overall freedom of activities and things to do worked quite well in this follow up.

Ubisoft really stepped up their game with creating this sequel in the Watch Dogs series. There have been many improvements from the first game and really helps gives the series more structure to build from if they create a third addition to the series. I do think that after the main storyline that it can get tedious and/or repetitive doing all the side missions, but I think that will be fixed in due time with future DLC. Overall, I would have to say Watch Dogs 2 is a good game minus some bug/glitches that appear throughout the game. Expand

I should tell you that even with all the controversy around the first Watch Dogs game I really enjoyed my time with it. Though it did come out a day after I initially purchased a PS4, so I probably could have played any game and thought it was good at the time. Regardless, Watch Dogs 2 does improve a lot of what the first game had. Marcus is not the average grumpy anti-hero bent on revenge kind of character. He is funny, a pop culture nerd, and black. Pretty much the EXACT opposite of Aiden lol. The game controls are super fluid. Driving is pretty much the same as the first game, but imo that is a good thing. I liked the way the cars handle. In terms of "boots on the ground" game play Marcus is quick on his feet and most of the time super precise. I do wish the developers would have put more emphasis on the "parkour" aspect. Remember how in the first game if you kept Aiden running and just held down O on ps4, Aiden would automatically jump, slide, or roll through certain obstacles? Marcus does this also, and it looks really cool the way he flips, and somersaults around, but doesn't really effect the way you tackle missions. I would have loved to upgrade a skill tree that is more or less based on free-running. Marcus relies a lot more on hacking than Aiden did which I like a lot. My only problem is that picking up a gun and shooting people is really at odds with Marcus' character. I'm sure a lot of players don't really care about all that, and it certainly isn't a big deal, it just feels kind of weird. Other that that though Watch Dogs 2 is really fun and for the most part improves on everything that was wrong with the first game. Marcus is a giant step up from Aiden and It's light hearted tone and "gta like" environment style makes it a joy to play. This game is definitely worth the 60 bucks. Expand

With the disaster of the first game Watch Dogs 2 corrects every aspect of the game. It gives us a more interesting character and is extremely fun. The story also very awesome too but unfortunately a disappointing ending.

This game genuinely and pleasantly surprised me. It improves virtually everything about watch dogs exponentially. The characters, the story, the voice acting, the driving, the gameplay, the hacking, the realism of the city, side content, etc etc are all far superior to that of the original. I'm really hoping ubisoft stays on the track this game has set.

This is a solid game with plenty of things to do and explore. I would urge anyone looking to try this not to associate it with the first watch dogs; you will enjoy it much more. It was a pleasant surprise for me since I had low expectations. My only negative critique is that the gun play isn't as intuitive and engaging as other titles such as GTA. The same goes for driving.

While it has its flaws, (as most Ubisoft games do) there's no a lot to complain about with this installment of Watch Dogs. It's a whole lot better than the original with actually interesting characters and a colorful city.

It is a really fun game, BUT the story and characters were really dull for me. I found myself often skipping cutscenes because they were too cringeworthy. The gameplay was solid, fun and fluid which is what made me finish the game.

Ubisoft brings us the sequel to the highly anticipated, over hyped, yet underwhelming Watch Dogs. Ubisoft released Watch Dogs 2 on November 15th. Announced back in June a week before E3, Ubisoft showed many videos on what the team did to improve the gameplay and the game mechanics in an attempt to earn the public’s trust back when it came to the Watch Dogs brand. Does Watch Dogs 2 become the Microsoft of the tech world, or does it remain a start-up company never becoming big enough to get out of the garage?
Story: Watch Dogs 2 takes place in San Francisco and its surrounding area. You play as Marcus Holloway a hacker originally from Oakland who resides in San Francisco. At the start of the game, you begin by going through a trial in order to join the Deadsec hacker group. Deadsec's goal is to become the biggest hacker group out there, by exposing the truth about big tech companies as they take the data you enter from your emails, to tracking you in your everyday life. Putting a stop to that will get you followers, but your big target is Blume a company run by a Steve Jobs wannabe "Dušan Nemec", who turns out to be very crooked with having all these companies in his pocket from politics to human trafficking. So its "Dušan Nemec" and Blume you want to take out and give the people their freedom back.
Gameplay: Watch Dogs 2 is a third person sandbox game. You explore the wonderful and very different area of San Francisco. Players get to experiences how techy San Francisco is in some of the missions, from hacking a camera to exploding a gas tank to kill one of your enemies. You have more gadgets in your arsenal rather than just a phone this time around; a remote RC jumper and a drone are at your disposal. The drone and jumper will help you during infiltration missions when you don't want to be caught and go into combat. You can also sneak into places by taking out your enemies silently with a yo-yo, or go in guns’ blazing, which feels out of place in this game. I really feel Marcus should hack his way through everything. As you complete missions you gain followers, allowing for upgrades like vehicle hacking, combat skills, and RC and drone upgrades. This game is not just about the combat, it has some great puzzles to solve which at times can feel pressured because of a timer, but feels great when you accomplish them.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are well mixed; the character models and cars look fantastic, as does the scenery and main building structures. But it's the NPC's and environments that look like they belong on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Verdict: Watch Dogs 2 is a game that fixes almost all of the problems from the previous installment. It is a fun open world game, with great dynamic characters, great writing, and much better gameplay mechanics; it is definitely worth the pickup.

This sequel is probably the biggest surprise of 2016. The dull grey has been replaced by a vibrant and colourful San Francisco. With a more varied approach to missions thanks to your RC jumper and Quadcopter, this makes for a far more engaging and fun game to play then it's predecessor. The story is light-hearted and pure silly fun which is exactly what the franchise needed. Well done toThis sequel is probably the biggest surprise of 2016. The multiplayer thing is a bit weird (I'm too used to the GTA V model) although if you're lucky you might get someone who actually cooperates with the mission. Looking forward the extra content promised by Ubisoft.

Hacking is all the rage for this open world game. You can choose different gadgets to hack NPCs and the environment to your advantage. Sure it's no GTA5 however this Watchdogs 2 is a vast improvement over Watchdogs 1.A few of those hacking node puzzles can only be solved by pure deductive logic. That's some pretty challenging stuff yet cool at the same time.

Now some less positive points, there's no button for jump nor sprint yet these are basic controls they've omitted. No protection armor as well. Gun selection is very limited. Shooting and driving physics is forgettable like it was for Watchdogs 1. Oh well this is a 3rd person open world hacking game rather than a shooting one. My score for such a niche game: 8.3/10

And when a certain person bites the dust it is almost laughable when marcus is so hurt and you just do not care at all. This game is fun, I recommend it for the game play and the online co-op which is really fun with friends, but I feel if they instead of focusing on making every npc having a different backstory and more on certain other things, (like being able travel by air, like in a helicopter or something) or fixing some broken multiplayer systems, it would be great. Although the npcs are really fun to mess with. Over I like this game, the tone and game play are great, can't wait for a sequel, but please get your priorities straight. Expand

Watch Dogs 2 brilliantly solves the main issue the first game had while providing a world full of enjoyable missions. We faced some problems with the camera, especially during the car race. We also faced some issues with connectivity and online play. In the end, Watch Dogs 2 is a game that delivers in most aspects and provides hours of enjoyable content.
