An improvement over the original, but that isn't saying much. It has been given a hipster coat of paint and has the most dumbed down laughable vehicle physics I have seen in a game in a long time. There's some fun to be had here, but don't expect GTA levels of polish. Worth picking up cheap or at a discount.

It's good but its no GTA. I've played less than 10 hours of it but I can already see repetition emerging and I'm wondering if I'll bother finishing missions like the graffiti one. Another issue is the driving, its far too forgiving, you can crash a motorbike into a truck on the highway and stay on the bike, it takes a lot of effort to actually fall off the thing.

I quite like the story so far and the main characters seem well written at this point. The missions seem to be the problem, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of depth. Even the missions that have a bit of puzzle solving to them are kind of easy and repetitive. In some cases it seems like a telltale games type story where you just have to press a button and watch the cut scene. It seems to be lacking a sense that the gamer is capable of performing complex tasks and it takes that away from you by getting you to press triangle and the system performs the action.

There is plenty of novelty value in the game and the knight rider inspired mission was a really good set piece if a little uncomplicated. San Francisco looks great and its fun to explore, you do get a sense of scale without it taking ages to get from A-to-B. The police seem a bit oblivious, I saw a guy was being pulled over on his bike, I took the bike and no one chased me even though there were about 3 or 4 police cars around.

There is one final thing that bugs me, the cars you steal disappear! I parked up went in a went through a cut scene came back out and the car was gone. This has happened many times and is really annoying when you have to spend the next couple of minutes trying to hijack another vehicle.

As its early in the game there is a chance the missions will get more difficult but I'm not sure. Overall I like the game but if I didn't have it I'd certainly wait till it comes down in the sales. I have a feeling it might fall in price quickly.

typical Ubisoft release with multiplayer already down from day one, you'd think with past trash releases they'd get it right this time, the game is solid with a nice open world and plenty of stuff to do but seems to be stuck in second gear, it never becomes just 5 more mintues.

I got this game early after pre-ordering (like 5 days early....) and while it's definitely an improvement from Watch Dogs 1, its definitely not perfect. The other reviews barely touch on the main issues of the game, they only give it the rating with out really going into why (ugh).

You CAN play the game in lethal mod, but its honestly way too easy when I tried it. If i did, I think I'd have a different take on it. As far as I can see, there's no real consequences from playing stealth vs non-stealth. I'm not entirely finished the game as I am trying to go through all the sidequests, but the more I play it, the more I become bored, but at the same time the more I want to explore.

    Things I love:
    - The premise and setting of the game. It's very much targeted towards up and coming tech, like being able to 3D print weapons, having control of a drone and RC jumper in missions which is so cool to use. The city is beautiful and feels so alive.

    - The availability of weapons and ways to play through the missions. It IS in fact possible to do the majority of missions with out even stepping into the danger zone and you have a huge arsenal at your disposal.

    - The references in the plot to our tech culture and pop culture references, like taking revenge on WD2 version of Martin Shrikelli, Silicon Valley references, and so on.

    - Its harder. They've centralized hacking to be more puzzle like, and then made the puzzles are harder. Collecting and finding things are harder. It's actually a challenge, whereas in WD1 its "go rambo mode, press a button here, complete mission." I think the game is only a challenge if you go stealth.

    Things I dont love:

    - Some of the side-mission plots, or hell even some of the main plots don't make a whole lot of sense. Some mission are really fun and run parallel to our world (like say, having a Scientology-like church exist) and are really satisfying to do, but others are questionable and its like "why is this hacker group doing this again?"

    - There are STILL "go to this point here, collect this thing" kind of stuff. No more of Ubisofts "do this to reveal section of the map" but ugh. Some of it is hidden as well, where you have to take a picture of the landmark. In some ways its cool as in "oh hey cool look at this SF landmark they put into the game" but when you're in a car chase or you accidentally drive by it, now its like "ugh I have to find a way back here somehow to collect this thingy".

    Bit of Both:
    - No consequences from playing stealth vs non-stealth. No changes in plot, no changes in XP ("followers") amount. You can play either or style. In some ways this is good because it really gives you the freedom to really do whatever you want. But considering how freaking overpowered you get, non-stealth would be super easy mode.

    - Most of the missions are all essentially the same. Get into building - hack the things - get out. It gets extremely repetitive. Main mission and side missions are all the same thing.

So, I DID get it during amazons E3 sale, so I didn't buy it at full price. While I didn't regret my purchase, I would probably be more upset if this had costed me more.

I went into this game with rather high expectations, as someone who had seen series and movies all about the "hacker" theme and trope that is touched on in Watch Dogs 2, I expected a Story line well enacted and staged with high-speed chases, open setpieces and proper cinematography.
The potential of the game is so vast, it could have picked up on so many scenes in the series "Person of interest" it could have told a engaging but still humorous narrative.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft handled this game just as they handle all their other games, terrible.

No engaging narrative, just a mere stringing together of very bad "hacker" jokes and quips.
Compared to competitors like Grand Theft Auto, the narrative is more than just weak, it feels like people badly out of touch with the theme of the game wrote it and tried to force humour in.
Marcus Holoway is literally nothing more than a hipster, and everytime he talks to his comrades it feels like pre-teenagers are having a really awkward conversation.

However, while the narrative is important, many can give a badly written narrative a pass if the core of the game, the gameplay and level design is good.
To my discomfort, it is not. It is the average Ubisoft "sandbox" design slapped onto yet another "new" game and it feels and plays just as all the other Ubisoft games. It lacks proper cinematography, it lacks in new gameplay featues designed specificly for missions, it lacks substance. Essentially every single mission in this game feels and plays the same, the only difference being new hacking upgrades that you unlock over the course of playing the game.
This type of lazy and repetetive mission design has, unfortunately, become a hallmark of Ubisoft games and I honestly and sincerely hope it stops.

Apart from that, the world in itself, San Francisco, looks and feels beatifull and fitting. NPCs do not feel as alive in, for example a Grand Theft Auto, but the cities look populated and you have certain cool things making them feel alive, such as a man smashing up the car of this ex-girlfriend.
Only thing that boggles me about the Open World design is that still, after 2 console generations the game relies on loading screens between side missions and main missions. This is a big immersion and game flow breaker, especially considering that main competitors have handles this better on PS3 and XBOX 360 devices allready.

For those wondering why I compare the game so extensively with the GTA Series, it's simple, the games marketing was aimed at providing a competition to the open world and GTA series, some of the games Trailers are almost copies of their Rockstar counterparts, for example you can compare the Watch Dogs 2 Online Trailer to the GTA Online Trailer, both feature almost the same wording and sentence structure.

As such, with such a high competition and such an un-innovative entry into the huge and evolving Open World genre(yet again). I can only give 5/10.
The score would be way higher if this was Ubisofts first open world game playing like this, and with this problems, but after all the years and about 10+ Open World games later, they still recycle parts of the same animation sets, the same gameplay mechanics and the same mission design that was present in their games since Far Cry 3.
    A disgrace and disappointment.

    Pros:
Nice graphics, style, music, geek culture, city, story.
    Cons:
Annoying monotonous open-world gameplay. Boring monotonous puzzles, I don't like more than 50% additional missions and completely ignore annoying online missions: I prefer singleplayer modes in all the games.

The gameplay is improved but it's lost all the edge of the original, pandering more to kids, and covering themselves by ticking every diversity box in the process. Compared to its predecessor, the plot of WD2 is uninspiring and dull and makes progressing through the game pointless.

The open world is a lot improved, it doesn't feel so dead as WD1 because now there are people doing activities like Yoga, dancing, etc, you can hack and see their messages and interact with them but it also doesn't have too many activities to do, so it isn't a perfect open world it is. The game still has the same bad physics at driving but that isn't an issue for me, I even had fun laughing at how bad it is. The missions have the same approach as WD1, you can do the mission in 3 different ways: Rambo Style, stealth mode or just hacking with your drone. Aside from hacking the 2 first options are fun and I had fun.

But what really disappointed me is the story. For me, it is 2/10. It is completely forgettable and it is really bad. It is basically a bunch of guys trying to stop a Silicon Valley villain that simply doesn't expire fear at all. And the worst part, they discarded completely Aiden Pierce that was a good character.

The graphics are similar to Watch Dogs 1. They are good but aren't top tier.

I never played the first game and had no expectations going into this one, but I had imaged a dark cyberpunk style underworld - not the contrived and stereotyped cheese-fest that Ubisoft (inevitably) opted for.

It's the first game that's actually made me consider whether I'm too old for gaming... they are clearly targeting a younger generation with this title so I'm probably not qualified to comment on whether they got the art style right - but judging by the number of complaints and "hipster" labels, Ubisoft are alienating a large chunk of their player base.

It's not a bad game per se, there are a lot of neat ideas though that's all it is - a collection of neat ideas with no real depth. Gameplay wise the missions play out like mini-games, once you figure out that you want to avoid direct combat but the stealth mechanic is broken* the "strategy" becomes very simplistic and repetitive.

    * by broken, I am referring to the fact that once triggered the enemy always know where you are - I guess it's one way to avoid having to implement AI. You can still complete an objective with a full-on assault but it's hit or miss. It feels like guns in general only exist so the game ticks a feature checkbox.

Most zones can be infiltrated entirely with your drones which is fun, they put a lot of emphasis on this tactic - but equally when you start to tire of it, you'll realise it's quicker just to run around using distraction hacks. Be it on a nearby object or the NPCs themselves, you can sprint straight up behind them and melee them which puts them down permanently - what passes for AI is just basic line of sight. It's the first tactic open to you and will probably be how you complete the end game.

The skill-tree is a bit of a gimmick - it's either just another feature checkbox ticked or a kind of extended tutorial to introduce you to the tools gradually - all of which can be unlocked quickly which defeats the point a skill tree. Besides the two drones, I found that I also never really used the majority of the unlocks either. They look good in videos and screenshots but in the heat of the moment they're just not that effective.

The side quests are hardly worth mentioning - in typical Ubisoft fashion there are the generic races and pointless collectibles to pad out the world. Thankfully you can fast-travel everywhere - not only have I stopped bothering with these, as noted by virtually every other review the driving physics are atrocious.

The story? Horribly cliche, boring and forgettable characters. Enough said.

Overall, I'd say this is one of those games to get if you're already bored to start with.

I find the game boring and jarring. The main story and side missions are all the same, infiltrate, one button hack stuff then leave. The characters and story bored me that I ended up just skipping some cut scenes to move things along faster.
The jarring part is the gameplay. I found it less frustrating once I got some over powered weapons from these heavy armored enemies (always melee these guys) to just go guns blazing on missions. The enemy AI seems to go into stupid mode when you kill everything, compared to going stealth and they are super sensitive. This what makes it jarring. A nice hacker hipster social justice guy going around murdering 100s of people.
The trophy set is pretty bad but good if you want an easy platinum. Even the trophies are boring like buy this certain pair of shoes to unlock.
Ubisoft is really losing their touch. Assassins Creed Syndicate , Far Cry Primal, The Division and now Watch_Dogs 2 have all been average games for me.
Also a thing that got me angry is some of the add ons you can buy. $8NZD for some outfit and paint job for your car. That kind of visual add on should be free.

Actually I might go as far as saying Watch Dogs 2 is one of the worst stories in the gaming world I've ever experienced.

I'm a big fan of the original Watch Dogs. The game is infamous due to having one of the most impressive and misleading pre-release trailers in history. Smooth pretty visuals and impressive weather and physics effects, but when the game released it was fps locked on pc, and had much more reduced weather and physics effects.
A lot of people were disappointed with the final product, however I played it despite this and ended up really liking the story and finding the game very fun.

So along comes a sequel, and I the protagonist form the original is gone. The story of the original is gone. In fact the only thing that carries over is "technology used by authoritarianism is bad", everything else is very watered down and poorly conveyed.

The plot of WD2 is one of the most boring and uninteresting plots of any game I've ever played. There's no cohesive narrative, just a series of half missions that somewhat link together.
Instead of a proper plot you just have an "app" on a "phone" where you have to find missions. This is the least engaging way of doing a story I've seen. the main goal of the game is to get 'followers' (urgh).

But the overall story being dull and fragmented isn't even the main issue with the game, the main characters are incredibly boring and unlikable. It's just a bunch of forgettable and uninteresting geeks that have absolutely no personalities or relationship with each other.
I couldn't get myself to care about any of the characters, there's no depth to any of them (unlike Aiden Pearce from the original) and any attempts of humor is extremely cringeworthy.

Additionally the main mission design is just tedious. 95% of the game is just the same thing over and over again: "Hack a device" and to do so, unlock doors, sneak to the device, hold triangle, then sneak out. That's pretty much it, there's barely any level variation in Watch Dogs 2. Which is a real shame as Watch Dogs 1 was much more varied, fun and interesting.

The only variation you might get on that is the 2 gadgets Marcus gets: a jumper (remote control car that jumps) and a quadcopter (drone). You have to save up to buy them, but once you buy them you realise most missions are actually designed to be completed using them. Every level has little ramps or doors for them to sneak though, and if they get detected and destroyed, they just respawn.
Without them Marcus has to try to sneak himself and if he gets seen he gets killed, enemies are countless and heavily armoured.

The only issue with these gadgets are: there's no variation, every level is the same, and all you do is the same repeated actions of sneaking around trying to reach the objective items to hack. And that many missions force Marcus to hack one item on the level so you end up having to sneak marcus in anyway negating anything you've done with the jumper or drone.

Occasionally you'll get a power puzzle, which is kind of like a pipe-mania minigame of linking fuses with electricity. After about 50 of these they start to get a little boring.

And that's pretty much it. The only variation I found was some remote control vans side missions and a couple of pretty unique final missions involving robots and satellites which were the only parts of the game I actually enjoyed.

WD2 focuses on stealth much more than WD1, which is fine, but then all the abilities are locked away and need a lot of grinding to unlock, so without those hack upgrades and gadget purchases you will find you struggle a fair bit to start with.

In the end I found myself trying to power through the story to get it over with just so that i could enjoy the sandbox of the world of San Francisco. And San Fran is great, exploring the world and finding side missions and unlockables is far more fun than the story. Once you find enough research points and schematics it means you can do almost everything via hacking and remote control. The game becomes far more interesting without being Marcus and just living in hackerspace. You can start arranging gang assassinations and forging evidence on people and arranging arrests on targets. Solving the puzzles, and hacking intel via camera, jumper and drone without needing to actually risk yourself by doing anything via the protagonist.

Although as mentioned above, sadly this still gets very repetitive, I wish there was SOME variation in this game.

The controls aren't the most intuitive in this game, and aren't really explained to you well. The main button to do everything is L1, but if you hold L1 you get to do different actions, but these actions are represented by the least clear icons I've seen, so you really have to memorize what everything is. I don't recall being so confused starting the original Watch Dogs.

City is very well made, the game is incredibly nice to look it. The problems come with the story, characters and general gameplay.

Gameplay is very repetitive after 5/6 hours, few upgrades change a mission or 2 but the general idea is sneak in to a compound, steal "X" and leave. If you're seen, shoot everything and everybody.

It seems Ubisoft don't know where to take this Franchise, they created a dark story first time...then switched to something which never takes itself seriously with some of the most annoying characters i've ever played with in a game.

In saying that, it is fun enough to play in short bursts, would recommend it to someone at half the price it is currently, maybe pick it up in March/April when its come down in price..

Hopefully by that point, all the online stuff will be sorted!

Amazing open world, great mission design, in depth characters and most importantly FUN. Watch dogs 2 is everything the 1st (which i didn't like) should have been. Simply put game of the year.

Watch Dogs 2 is better then Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row.
+Gives you better incentives for exploring the world that has effects on the gameplay. Something that most developers tend to forget about.
+Requires you to think and observe rather then just shoot every enemy you see. (If you don't like puzzles/platforming/stealth, this game might just be irrelevant to you.) +Self-aware

    +Self-aware script and dialogue
+Grounded enough to be speculative satire.
+Unconventional characters not typically used by most developers.

    Downgrades from Watch_Dogs 1 (that I noticed)
-Explosions are basically immediate kills to yourself whereas in the original it causes a staggering animation. (This may make multiplayer less fun unless this only applies to Single-player)
-Animations are pretty much downgraded from the first game, mobility doesn't seem as realistic in the sequel.
-Much more convoluted controls, harder to focus on certain aspects as you gain new abilities. (Such as Equipping tools and accessing NPC's profiles.)

Overall, this might just be one of the best open-world sandbox games out there, depending on what you're looking for. To get the most out of it, you should be prepared to explore and do the side-quests, otherwise you're looking at a pretty short game.

Characters and dialogues make me cringe most of the time and graphics are nothing to write home about. Ubisoft finally got rid of the damn towers in the game, but the gameplay is still somewhat repetitive after just a few hours.

There is also a lot of loading. They are not long, but they are quite a few. It's an interesting purchase if you enjoy the open world type of gaming like myself, but I wouldn't get it for a full price.

Surprisingly for an Ubisoft game, it is not chock full of repetitive busywork, and the developers did a good job of making the side missions fun and varied, at least from a story perspective. That said I did have a couple of gripes.

Man, the security guards, are nuts! There are no warnings stand in the wrong place, even if you're not doing anything wrong and they will blast you in the face with a shotgun. You also feel a little underpowered compared to the first game. Getting away from the police is much harder and if you get a chopper on your tail good luck!

*Note I turned off the multiplayer because being invaded when you're just trying to get from one end of the city to the other and being forced to play a game of hide and seek is never, ever fun.

Very enjoyable game that is better than the original! Take the story as if its the 1990 in the world of "Hackers", don't take it too seriously. The gameplay mechanics are much improved, the city feels alive.

I like to play for between 1-2 hours before switching to another game, it's not a game I would play non-stop as it is a bit repetitive

Enjoyed the first one and enjoyed this. The biggest problem is that its not GTA5 but not many games are, I would say its GTA5-lite so if you're into that then you should enjoy it. GFX are good but running animation is a bit pants.

Games have to be fun and this in the main is mostly. you can dip in and out of online games and there is enough there to pick up for 5 minutes or for an hour.

Using the radio controlled toys are good too.

Downside is that police do get aggravated too easily which is a bug bear when they ram you too much despite turning them inside out they will always be there in a chase, i generally give up now rather than go through the laborious process of the chase.

Also the missions are a little easy and you don't really have to use hacks, but for more enjoyment try and avoid reverting to guns.

I was expecting a bit more mini-games on the hacking side.

As, some people has said it looks a bit to GTA because of the driving and the city but nothing else. Missions are different but over time, you'll see that some of them are a bit repetitive. I think this game would improve with a good tutorial because some missions are very difficult from the begining and enemies keep coming no matter what you do. I didn't like that. Many times I had to low the volume because the music was horrible (too modern). About graphics, these are quiet good. I like to play the games in English but because the subtitles were tiny (and I have a huge tv) I decided to play it in Spanish (which by the were, the voices were good). Also, if you don't know how to find the main missions, go to the map and filter it to find the main missions. If you don't find any, go to Head Quarters (HQ). To sum up, this could have been a better game with less enemies, a good tutorial and more variety of missions. About the plot let's say it's ok. Not my kind of game. Oh, and don't ask me why (or maybe I know, because of the enemies never ending coming and was very repetitive and difficult) it reminds me Just Cause 2; a game I bought for my ps3 years ago and that I hated so much that I end up quitting after some hours. The characters were move alive than Aiden Pierce from the first game but I just found them annoying, except Ray he was pretty decent. Driving was fun but very sluggish, GTA 5 feels more refined in that aspect. Sneaking and gunfights is where I hated this game, it seems like with or without Autoaim i could not get this down, it really failed, again GTA 5 was much more refined in the way it performed combat. Soundtrack was killer and was the different types of hacks you could do. I loved controlling cars to create chaos. All in all it was worth a play and an easy platinum. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game's mechanics are okay but it suffers from a sense of lost identity. The cutscenes push you in the direction of being an SJW approved hero. You play as Marcus, a geeky black male from Oakland (this last detail added to make your character streetwise and therefore not too disconnected from being black by being a nerd). The players are afforded a great deal of agency in that Marcus can be dressed in a variety of manners (biker leather jacket, Wallstreet suits, urban/ghetto/hip-hop styles, etc); the players are also able to customize Marcus' skillset to their liking with regard to approaching missions (dubbed trickster, aggressor, and ghost). The agency is fairly nice. The issue is that the plot of the game pits you and your SJW approved diverse group of hacker friends against The Man. In the world of the game, The Man is represented by predatory and invasive corporations and organizations including the FBI. However, there's narrative whiplash as Marcus is righteously indignant at the victimization of the masses in a cutscene and then you're able to immediately steal a nearby car, pull money out of a passerby's bank account, and gun down police officers, civilians, or rival gang members. The results of the evil organizations' machinations are shown but there are seemingly no consequences for Marcus' crimes. Please note one of the themes of the game is that the ends do not justify the means. Marcus does some illegal and unsavory things but his is justified apparently.

Furthermore, the game forces you to work alongside a transvestite guy calling himself Miranda (who is shown in an unwaveringly positive light) and another optional mission where you drive a gay guy to meet his husband as they're having a baby. Games like Mass Effect and Dragon's Age allow you to decide how much or even if you're going to engage certain other characters whereas Watchdogs 2 forces it on you despite the previously mentioned agency given to the player.

It's unfortunate because it ultimately amounted to the developer cramming their opinions and politics down your throat.

As someone who lived in the Bay Area most of my life Ubisoft did an amazing job highlighting the key parts of the various cities. I felt like I was running and driving around home! On my laptop it ran pretty smoothly most of the time with hiccups in FPS here or there that minorly hampered the experience. At one point it glitched out during the mission complete cut scene and made me repeat a pretty long mission which was annoying. Mission types are pretty much rinse and repeat the same few types of mission and aren't nearly as creative at GTA 5. However, the characters were very likable and 100X better than Aiden Pearce. As a group they seemed like a real-world group of friends. The story was nothing to write home about. The villain was like a watered down Bond Villain in that he's intelligent, capable and taken seriously from start to finish rather than being made a full of like in some games. However, overall the game doesn't take itself too seriously with a lot of light hearted humor. Top to bottom this is an average-good game. Fun to knock out over a weekend and never touch again. There's a lot to do in this open world, but there are also a TON of problems - forget about it if you like multiplayer. Online probably functioned less than half of the time and we're sitting at over a year since the game launched. Conversely, there are times where the game kind of forces you into an online server if you happen to walk into an event or are near another player online, which disrupts the single player and makes the game a laggy, choppy mess. In general, movement feels pretty unresponsive and driving is terrible.

The problem with this game is it wants to be a stealth game, and it kind of wants to be a combat game, but it can't figure out which. Completing a mission in complete stealth is, in my opinion, impossible. There are very few ways to neutralize guards without alerting other guards, they will see and destroy your RC vehicles and force you to wait for them to regenerate and once they see you, it's over. They call reinforcements faster than you can possibly imagine and you'll have to rely on the game's heinous combat system to save you. Cover shooting is awful. Enemies never miss and always know where you are. Your weapons are weak and inaccurate against "armored" enemies who can endure 3 shotgun shells to the head. Melee animations take several seconds and almost guarantee to leave you exposed long enough to get killed. THERE ARE NO MID MISSION CHECKPOINTS, so even though you just slogged through that high-pressure, timed puzzle segment in perfect stealth, since a guy noticed your drone on the way out, forty cops descend on you and kill you and send you back to the start. The mechanics also don't square up-your RC car can physically hack computers and consoles, but your drone can't do anything?

In general you have to suspend disbelief and accept the fact that somehow a rando with an iPhone can control a construction crane by "hacking" it. The convoluted story, which investigates a timely government/corporate spying conspiracy, makes no sense. The side missions, if you choose to partake of them, will only add to the confusion by involving irrelevant characters and events which seem related but actually have no bearing. The game will also not warn you if you're about to start a mission without the requisite equipment - at one point I had to hack a router on top of a tower and could only get there with the drone upgrade, but the game never mentions this.

Eventually you realize that every mission follows the same basic formula - go find a guy with a phone or a computer somewhere, hack it to get a clue, then sneak through a security area to find another phone or computer and end the mission. These areas boil down to using your weird x-ray vision and spamming square to cycle through computers and set up traps until you take out enough guards to just sprint through the level and take what you need, lucky to survive the sprint out. "Leveling up" provides very little advantage and very few skills get put to use.

The first few levels are easy enough to make the hacking doable, but soon the security areas become so large and well guarded that it becomes a total crapshoot of setting traps and just hoping like hell no one sees you. The game feels very random and out of control. The story and characters are goofy, unless you're a hacker/computer nerd, and much more juvenile than the first game which used hacking as a device to further a compelling story rather than a story revolving around a ludicrously overpowered, fantastical version of "hacking."

Purchased it again for the PS4 and while I still like the game, the narrative feels remarkably unengaging. Every time you, as Dedsec, commit to some huge statement, a news story often later explains how the problem became somewhat worse as a result of your actions. This could be a potentially interesting commentary on how the aggressive hacktivism you and your group enact in the game might do more harm than good, even when those involved had initially good intentions. However, this idea isn't really reflected in the main story in any meaningful way. The main cast (who are all characterised wonderfully through good writing, design and performances) never grow or are ever clearly bothered by this at any point. Watch Dogs 2 never commits to anything bold, and thus this "commentary" feels like an afterthought.

The gameplay is fun. Every scenario and pretty well designed, allowing for a lot of creativity and freedom in how the player can complete any given mission. However, despite giving the player a taser for the non-lethal option, there are never any consequences for killing people so it ends up functioning as a super weak role-playing mechanic and basically nothing else. Encounters lack a need to stop and think about your actions before proceeding which is a real shame because it feels like the game is designed for that very purpose. YouTuber SuperBunnyhop suggested that Ubisoft remove guns entirely from the next Watch Dogs game and while I can't ever see that happening, I couldn't agree more. It would be a very brave move, but definitely one the game would benefit from. Reports are that the next game is set in London, where gun control is massively stricter, so fingers crossed that means what I think it might mean.

Ultimately, the issue with Watch Dogs 2, and basically every Ubisoft game, is that it lacks the courage to commit to anything remotely interesting. The main issue is one which breaks it at the core, and that's the fact that Ubisoft lacks a spine. The developer is too scared to break the mould and that's tragic because they are clearly talented enough to deliver something truly special. Unfortunately, for now, their games are simply forgettable, and that's the gravest sin of all.

Graphics is really not bad, there is not a bad soundtrack. But the gameplay remained the same, same boring and monotonous. As usual in a game from Ubisoft only 1 element is executed top-level - a graphic environment, virtual San Francisco is beautiful. Expand

It would be foolish to believe Ubisoft after they released the first part of the Watch Dogs.
But with this people bought this game, and I bought it.
In the beginning, the game draws, some new chips, graphics, gameplay. But when the game comes to an end, it becomes crocheted, all subsequent tasks become monotonous. Because of this, you wait when this game is over. In this minus.

Network game, for all the time that I was in the game I never wanted to see
network mode, because it does not bring something new into the game. there you do not have a separate character like in Gta Online,
no vozzhnosti to buy houses, cars. The network mode is predicated to do so-as it looks still raw.
About the plot - it is boring, optit struggle with power, etc. We already saw this in Watch Dogs so I would like to
see another story in this game. What are some of the chips associated with the past character, tasks in Chicago,
    and in other cities.

About the open world - Yes, in this game, a truly open world is very beautiful, in comparison with the first part
it's colorful, not dull as there, yes npc it's desirable to add a little mind so-when you take someone
they do not have to do anything.
My score for this game is 6/10
The first minus for the boring gameplay
The second minus for the monotony of tasks
The third minus for Network Mode
The fourth minus for Bots in the open world.
I advise this game to those who have not played nirazu in Watch Dogs.
In general, this game is good, but not worth your money.

Boring plot, dull characters, just a few of the main missions are actually fun (the final mission is too easy and not exciting at all). The city is fun to explore though and there are several side games (Drone, Sailboat, Car and ATV races, etc.) to have fun with.

I liked WD2 way more than the first one. The concept of a hacker group felt right in the sunny world of San Fransico. The missions were fun but sometimes repetitive. Huge negative point were the driving mechanics. It was so bad yet a crucial part of the gameplay. The story was a little thin and characters needed a bit more background but after all a nice experience.

That being said, it is a decent story and the locations explored are also fun to visit.

Gameplay is mainly stealth focused and whilst you can use stealth takedowns and non lethal weapons to get through the game without killing many people at all, guns are powerful enough that you can usually just go into an area all guns blazing and still complete the mission. I found overall that the funnest way to complete these stealth missions was to not enter the area at all and instead use the drone and jumper to do everything remotely and deal with the mission smoothly. You get a sense of achievement from breaching an area without being spotted as it feels like the correct way to play the game.

In terms of the open world, you get to explore San Francisco and Silicon Valley. The weapons and hacks at your disposal make for some very funny situations as you can take control of NPCs' cars and mess about with people's phones and the traffic. The police are not very harsh and usually it is easy to escape them with a decent car but if you want a challenging police chase, you can just shoot the police and ram them with your vehicle to get them more angry and send stronger force after you. The NPCs are extremely stupid and you can barely interact with them but this just makes the game more fun in some situations.

Overall, I would say this game is extremely enjoyable (especially the open world) but not a game that deserves to win any awards - a conclusion which really sums up a lot of Ubisoft games.

The characters are likeable, the gameplay is varied, often requiring a deep level of concentration and the open world is quite charming. My only (and large) complaint about the game is it's shallow story and character building. The story is really and I mean really generic. It doesn't explore any themes and to be brutally honest is slightly engaging at best. It falls into mediocrity and comes off as an afterthought which is disappointing as a good story would have really boosted this game towards being one of Ubisoft's bests. The characters as well don't really have any evolution and sometimes the writing doesn't match what the characters are made out to be (you'll see for yourself). If the characters weren't as interesting as they are initially, this game would be in some trouble for repeating its past mistakes but fear not because these characters are better than the 1st game's. So despite my complaints, I do find this to be a good game, one worthy of your time, just not your thought. Considering it is on Game-pass currently don't miss your chance to play this game. Expand
