Watch Dogs 2 is an amazing achievement. while some of the humour can be a bit dry, the story and missions are so creative that you start to wonder at the people calling this game generic. Apposed to Grand Theft Auto's "Look at someone and they'll swear at you" function, if you bump into someone in Watch Dogs 2, they may apologise, but if you insult them, they won't be as forgiving. It was yesterday that I was posting a selfie to "Scout X" (The in game Tour Guide/ Instagram when someone photobombed me, this just shows how much effort went into including this amount of detail. I could see how someone might say that makes this game an 8/10 or 7/10 because of lack of actually innovation, but to that I say this isn't a new IP it's a sequel but I can understand how some might confuse that as it feels like it re-invented Watch Dogs 1 (we never really got the hacking game we wanted until now). I however am giving this a 9/10 because not only did they fix their mistakes, but they've been really good about not over hyping this game as well, and even being transparent about the seamless multiplayer issue that would have caused problems had they left it the way it was. I like the direction Ubisoft is going if this is going to be they're new standard. Expand

Main story is also really good with a lot of great writing and daring ideas I love it. This is a great game to just immerse yourself in or just mess around. It's truly a sandbox. First off, the game looks freaking beautiful, the stealth and combat system is smooth AF.
The Parkour/Freerunning is fast and looks good.

I haven't played much of the main story as i am just exploring at the moment, but so far the story is great. Overall a great game, that i look forward to spend lots of time with.

It showcased a new way of interacting in a sandbox game with the use of a intricate smart phone that can hack city traffic lights or sewage explosions. The game was unbelievably hyped for the look of the game and the many mechanics that was promised for the final retail only to end with a disappointing payoff as the graphics were downgraded to function with the 6th generation consoles with half of the mechanics removed shortly before the release. Watch Dogs was heavily criticized for being very underwhelming and not living up to the expectations of the hype based on the excellent E3 2012 demo. The game was also criticized for having a unlikable protagonist and a story was stretched that it was hard to really understand the actual motive of the main protagonist goals. The game wasn't all bad though. The hacking in Watch Dogs was a fun addition to the game, using it to advanced through difficult situations and evading pursuers. Now with the sequel released a week ago, does the game take bigger steps than it's predecessor or does it fall in the same line as the first?

Story - This time, the player controls a different protagonist named Marcus Holloway, a hacker that joined the hacker group named Dedsec in which him and his teammates try to take down Blume and the ct0s system that monitors everyday lives in which also oversees habits that determine the payments to coverage for anything. The story and characters are more light hearted and humorous at times which is an exact opposite of the mood based on the first Watch Dogs, which was serious and dark. Marcus as a character is more likable than the first protagonist Aiden Pierce, as Marcus is more relaxed and easy going to relate to, but Marcus is too much of the "norm" to really feel for the character struggles. The best one out of the bunch is Wrench which I wished the game was based on more with his snappy personality and carefree attitude.

Graphics - Watch Dogs 2 sets in a recreation of San Francisco with beautiful scenery and accurate depictions of actual San Francisco. Without restrictions of the 6th generation consoles, they can optimize the game to work even better than the first. Character models look fantastic with nice textures on each main NPC. The lighting of the game also illuminates better as shading envelopes into a better layout than the first. The only problem I have is when it rains in the game, it doesn't look as good as it did on the first, which actually made the first Watch Dogs look above average as the streets were glistering and heavy on the streets on Chicago. Here, it's just mediocre to look at.

Gameplay - Watch Dogs 2 still retains the hacking ability but with more options. With the ct0s 2.0 system integrating throughout San Francisco, Marcus gets different abilities such as hacking into cars or setting up proximity bombs around circuit-breakers to neutralize enemies with an electric shock to disrupting phone interruptions in a 25 meter radius. There is so much variety for each mission structure which gives the game a more fluid design on it's gameplay.

Overall, I am enjoying the game with its new setting, characters, and gameplay options. The few gripes with this game though is the multiplayer is not working at all and once I was done with the game, there was nothing really to do after except trophy hunting. For right now, I would say wait for a sale or until Ubisoft patches the multiplayer to make the consumer get what they are paying for.

Its unique premise of an open-world hack-em-up made the first Watch Dogs a hyped-up beast that, even had its gameplay and sombre tone gelled, would have been hard to match expectations. Watch Dogs 2 meets a more cautious audience with a far more irreverent tone - and it’s all the better for it.

I should tell you that even with all the controversy around the first Watch Dogs game I really enjoyed my time with it. Though it did come out a day after I initially purchased a PS4, so I probably could have played any game and thought it was good at the time. Regardless, Watch Dogs 2 does improve a lot of what the first game had. Marcus is not the average grumpy anti-hero bent on revenge kind of character. He is funny, a pop culture nerd, and black. Pretty much the EXACT opposite of Aiden lol. The game controls are super fluid. Driving is pretty much the same as the first game, but imo that is a good thing. I liked the way the cars handle. In terms of "boots on the ground" game play Marcus is quick on his feet and most of the time super precise. I do wish the developers would have put more emphasis on the "parkour" aspect. Remember how in the first game if you kept Aiden running and just held down O on ps4, Aiden would automatically jump, slide, or roll through certain obstacles? Marcus does this also, and it looks really cool the way he flips, and somersaults around, but doesn't really effect the way you tackle missions. I would have loved to upgrade a skill tree that is more or less based on free-running. Marcus relies a lot more on hacking than Aiden did which I like a lot. My only problem is that picking up a gun and shooting people is really at odds with Marcus' character. I'm sure a lot of players don't really care about all that, and it certainly isn't a big deal, it just feels kind of weird. Other that that though Watch Dogs 2 is really fun and for the most part improves on everything that was wrong with the first game. Marcus is a giant step up from Aiden and It's light hearted tone and "gta like" environment style makes it a joy to play. This game is definitely worth the 60 bucks. Expand

The gameplay feels much less repetitive and theres a lot more choice now to your approach. The driving is better but still nothing compared to gta 5's driving mechanics which seems to be unbeatble in that regard when it comes to action open world games driving controls. The story is actually thought provoking but fun too. I mean i liked the first ones story too so...The Bay Area is very faithfully recreated on the same level of gta 5's Los Santos. You know, I'm not the first to say it and I won't be the last, but the first "Watch Dogs" was easily one of the most disappointing games not just of 2014, or the eighth-generation, but possibly ever. With all the hype that Ubisoft placed on the game, and the concept of a game based around hacking even becoming a thing, it was a game that just sounded too damn exciting. So what happened? You know, I'm not the first to say it and I won't be the last, but the first "Watch Dogs" was easily one of the most disappointing games not just of 2014, or the eighth-generation, but possibly ever. With all the hype that Ubisoft placed on the game, and the concept of a game based around hacking even becoming a thing, it was a game that just sounded too damn exciting. So what happened? Well, graphical downgrades, overly-simplistic hacking, bland stealth missions, and dull writing all helped reduce the game to something that was decent, but not as strong as it could've (and should've) been. So, when it comes to "Watch Dogs 2," it's easy to approach the game with an air of cynicism because, ya know, "once bitten, twice shy." However, I walked into this one with an odd sense of optimism. Yes, I was bitten by the first game, but in all fairness, almost everyone I talked to about this game told me that it was pretty damn great. A number of my friends that didn't play the first one really enjoyed it, and even people that DID play the first told me that this one was a massive improvement. And, yeah, truth be told, this game does virtually improve on pretty much everything that the first game did, and it's a far better experience overall.
"Watch Dogs 2" takes every problem that I outlined earlier and fixes them all. For starters, San Francisco is such a beautifully-designed open world that's bustling and always featuring exciting things to do, and it most certainly doesn't feel like this game was downgraded very heavily. The hacking mechanics are also more complex this time around, and instead of simply feeling like you just have to press a button to hack and win things, there is some actual challenge to it this time. On the topic of gameplay, by the way, the driving controls have been fine-tuned quite a bit and the stealth sections are far stronger here, helping to round out the gameplay nicely. The writing is also far stronger: the game takes a more light-hearted approach, which works far better than the first (and reinforces that you don't need to make everything so dark and serious to make it enjoyable), and the characters are far more charming, specifically Marcus, a protagonist who is leaps-and-bounds better than Aiden. So all in all, forget being a polished sequel, "Watch Dogs 2" is basically exactly what the first game should've been.
That's not to say it didn't have a few issues: for example, the game regularly lets you engage in acts of mayhem and violence, and while that should be expected for a game like this, the fact that Marcus is the "nice guy" here just makes things feel just a little inconsistent. On top of that, I have to say that I found the enemy AI to not really be all that smart, regardless of whether you went into missions stealthily or with guns blazing.
Still, minor flaws and all, "Watch Dogs 2" is a massive improvement over the first game, and it's a title I can definitely highly recommend! Even though I'm sure there will be some skepticism walking into it because of the first game being so disappointing, I can safely say that this game makes up for the last one, and is certainly a worthy play.
Final rating: 9 out of 10 "Awesome"

After the complete downgrade disaster of Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2 is back and it’s prettier than ever. Sometimes, the sequel drags in terms of a cliché narrative that was heavily influenced by Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot, but the overall freedom of activities and things to do worked quite well in this follow up.

That's some pretty challenging stuff yet cool at the same time.

Now some less positive points, there's no button for jump nor sprint yet these are basic controls they've omitted. No protection armor as well. Gun selection is very limited. Shooting and driving physics is forgettable like it was for Watchdogs 1. Oh well this is a 3rd person open world hacking game rather than a shooting one. My score for such a niche game: 8.3/10

And when a certain person bites the dust it is almost laughable when marcus is so hurt and you just do not care at all. This game is fun, I recommend it for the game play and the online co-op which is really fun with friends, but I feel if they instead of focusing on making every npc having a different backstory and more on certain other things, (like being able travel by air, like in a helicopter or something) or fixing some broken multiplayer systems, it would be great. Although the npcs are really fun to mess with. Over I like this game, the tone and game play are great, can't wait for a sequel, but please get your priorities straight. Expand

There is also a lot of ways to finish missions as well. I beat, bar none, almost all the missions in the game without using a gun, with maybe a couple exeptions, and half of those "almost all" without stepping foot on the property! I wish the acting could have been a tiny bit better and some of the set pieces looked a bit bland by PS4 standards. Also, while a BUSLOAD of the missions were fun, I found a couple boring, those being the ones I used a gun in. Put down the first one, and play the sequel, It's great. Expand

New style, some improvements in game play, new UI and other updates. Game is not too big and not too big, it's medium. I really enjoyed all missions, but they're short. Very short.

This makes San Francisco feel much more immersive, interesting, and life-like than Chicago. The soundtrack is fantastic, a mixture of various songs from the eighties, nineties, and twenty-first century. The gameplay, especially the stealth and combat are vastly improved. It also introduces more equipment and weapons, to support different gameplay styles. Regardless of whether or not you want to run and gun your way through the level, use stealth to silently complete the objective, or just hack it from the outside without even stepping foot inside the area, WATCH_DOGS 2 supports it all. The melee combat is brutal and visceral. The last game I played that had melee combat as good as this was The Last of Us, and that's saying quite a lot. The story is also incredible, and vastly superior to the original's. It's a bit weak in the narrative department, but otherwise fantastic. The graphics are sub-par, the physics engine could be a bit better, and they removed many good features from the original WATCH_DOGS, but otherwise an incredible game, on many, many levels Expand

I couldn't leave out the vehicle controls... that is the most awful part of the game. Ubisoft should get the example of GTA, since they got the open-world do-everything idea out of that series.

I love this game. IMO its one of the most underrated games of the generation.

I think one of the main aspects of whether or not you'll enjoy it is if you truly take advantage of all the game mechanics. If you just want to shoot everything up, this game may not be for you. But if you want to hack, use stealth and gadgets, and use the game world as your playground, this game is one of a kind.

Best of all are the characters. Dedsec is just a joy. They're all so different and work incredibly well together. Their gang feels like it really means something to them all, and you really root for them and want them to succeed. Marcus is a fantastic protagonist; he's funny and you really feel a connection to him. Even more so, Wrench is just a ball of sunshine as a character. He's weird, explosive, crude, and just an absolute blast. Despite knowing so little about him in this game, he's my absolute favourite, and makes me laugh with his antics and his unpredictable fun-loving way of life.

In terms of genre, WD 1 seemed more like a third-person shooter with hacking tricks but Watch Dogs 2 is more like a real stealth and hacking game where the levels can be seen as puzzles. That's why the game is not for everyone and that's why also some persons who enjoyed WD1 didn't like Watch Dogs 2.

In fact, in order to enjoy this game, you have to play it stealthy. You can have access to different guns but I found the most of them completely useless. I tried to go gun-blazing but the experience was too frustrating.

There is a general consensus that the story is weak and I completely agree (otherwise, I would have a 9 rating for this game). It's not that the story is really weak but it's more that there is not really a coherent story. This game is more structured in different missions who all have their unique setting and story. However, I found most of the characters funny.

To conclude, I would add also that you can choose your own soundtrack which I appreciated. I would recommend their electronic soundtrack. Watch Dogs 2 is a modern open-world game with fun missions. I give it 8,4/10

If you enjoyed the first game, this is very similar to the first game. It sadly removes some of the good stuff but it also adds newer exciting stuff.

With the exception of the very short prequel mission (is that the preorder bonus?), the game starts very slow. This is intentional as it wants to introduce you to side quests and chores (like SF Driver which is similar to being an Uber/Lyft driver in game). This made me put the game down after months at this point. However, if you are willing to sit through the first 4-5 hours or so, then things get quite interesting.

Most side quests are fun and the story actually is cohesive although early on it seems random. Main story line is a delight. The game play is well polished (minus a few minor hiccups here and there) but some of the decisions made are either handicapping the game or leaving you feeling not right. I would have liked to see Marcus make more money early on to allow purchasing expensive cars midway through the game instead of end game as I would have liked to spend more time driving the Lambo equivalent car a lot more. The downloadable performance car was the one I drove the entire time as the other cars were not affordable. Both the Lambo and the Ferrari (they have different names but you can tell which one is which :) are too expensive to unlock and by the time you do, there is just not much left to do in the game. Driving those cars is actually a lot of fun.

My main complaint, which leaves me baffled, is seeing Marcus use lethal force. It simply doesn't make sense for his character and this hacker collective. However, if you don't use lethal force, NPCs that were stunned wake up in couple of minutes way sooner than you can accomplish your mission. Also each time you spend significant time using your jumper from afar to complete your mission - which is the best way to complete these missions nonlethally - a random NPC suddenly spawns next to Marcus getting him detected and starting a gun fight. Gun play is very good and fun but it just doesn't fit the story at all where the hacker collective is the savior of the people while using lethal force on people doing their jobs...

I like the story, the graphics and general realism is some of the best I have ever seen. One thing I do not like is Horatio, I feel like there's no interaction between him and the player and so his death scene was sad not because I liked him but because his potential was wasted. Sorry if this is a bit short but since I love this game I do not have a bit of critic for it except that. Expand

While the tone and story were not to my liking, the added options to hacking and world design make simply completing even basic missions fun

Не плохо, если сравнивать с 1ой частью.
-1 балл за физику (оружия и машин).
    -1 балл за сюжет.
    Итог: 8/10.

I really hate being forced to play with others in a game and when I found out how to play alone, there's not anything at all to dislike about this game except of how much of a grind it can be at times.

No lies, one of the best games in my life. I truly love every aspect of this damn awesome game.
Yes, plot's kind of superficial, but it's fun to play. I love the style, the vibes, Marcus, DedSec guys.
Really living world that is interesting to explore for thousands hours. Keep it up, Ubisoft!

Cool script. Cool UI. Cool Soundtracks. Cool Graphic. Cool Gameplay. A lot of content. And then: **** car physics. **** shoot physics. **** imbalance chases. That`s all. Despite the disadvantages, the game deserves high praise, at least, because it is the only project of this scale in this setting

After all controversies that surrounded Watch dogs 1 , this game had no expectations, and after finishing it can easily say its great open world game and even multiplayes is super fun

Watch Dogs 2’s distinctive hacking and puzzle mechanics do a great job of reminding you that you’re not playing just another Grand Theft Auto clone as you tear through its beautiful Bay Area map. Marcus is a bit too friendly of a guy to be believable as our instrument of mayhem, but the flexible missions let you get through mostly non-violently if you’re good enough at stealth. oyun akıyo tabiki bi gta rakibi olamaz ama bu da iyi oyunun eksikleri yokmu tabiki var adamlar ilk oyuna göre bazı değişiklikler yapmiş çevre olarak ek silah ve ek yardımcı eleman olarak eklenti ve değişiklikler yapılmış bu da ilgi çekici bazı durum ben sevdim şahsen bu başarıların devamını dilerim ama serinin 3. oyunu daha bi aksiyonlu bulmacaları falan bol olursa

It’s very good one of the most alive feeling open worlds in a game ever. I can’t wait for WD Legion.

Despite a few flaws, Watch Dogs 2 delivers where the original game failed. The game has improved on every aspect and provides a vibrant city with lots of hacking fun. The story is dull without any special moments but the immersive open world with lots of quests will keep you entertained.

Watch Dogs 2 brilliantly solves the main issue the first game had while providing a world full of enjoyable missions. We faced some problems with the camera, especially during the car race. We also faced some issues with connectivity and online play. In the end, Watch Dogs 2 is a game that delivers in most aspects and provides hours of enjoyable content.

Despite the MP issues, Watch Dogs 2 hacks this series back on track with its gorgeous locales, and silly emergent fun. Marcus isn’t *quite* our cup of tea, but he sure beats the hell out of the last guy. [January 2016, p71]
