Unexplored deserves at least an hour or two of your time. And ultimately, if that trial period goes well, the game is likely to draw you in for much longer. Because Unexplored: Unlocked Edition is brimming with charm, and playing it can feel like enjoying something homemade, with each playthrough designed expressly for the Rodney it will do everything in its power to destroy.

While UnExplored leaves a lot to be desired in the way of graphics, it has its own charm in its aesthetic which is backed up by the bitchin music that follows you on your dives. Even in its shortcomings, I found UnExplored to be redeemable and the amount of angry, annoying, pleasurable fun was worth far more than any downsides. Can I really be bothered by a lack of an overall storyline when each dungeon run has its own substory? Can I really complain about some graphic inequality with AAA games when each time I play is unique and a lot of fun? Well, I can’t see how I could do that, maybe just don’t bring it up to the people that picked up No Man’s Sky on its first day…

I like Unexplored. It is a simplistic, procedurally generated, top-down, rogue like, adventure rpg. You get stuff. I like stuff. What I don’tI like Unexplored. It is a simplistic, procedurally generated, top-down, rogue like, adventure rpg. You get stuff. I like stuff. What I don’t like are the bugs. Particularly a save that I had almost 5 hours in that I couldn’t access. I even reloaded an hour older cloud save, from the same seed, that worked for an hour, then blue screened when re accessing it. There are other minor bugs, but I could live with those. I do know, after researching, others have had bug issues across different systems. Other than that, solid game. Bravo for creation. Full Review »
