I like Unexplored. It is a simplistic, procedurally generated, top-down, rogue like, adventure rpg. You get stuff. I like stuff. What I don’t like are the bugs. Particularly a save that I had almost 5 hours in that I couldn’t access. I even reloaded an hour older cloud save, from the same seed, that worked for an hour, then blue screened when re accessing it. There are other minor bugs,I like Unexplored. I do know, after researching, others have had bug issues across different systems. Other than that, solid game. Bravo for creation. Expand

With its banal art style, nebulous lore, and generic take on dungeon-crawling, Unexplored lacks the necessary panache to make a dent. The unfulfilling combat further weakens the game. The positives of giving players access to many different game modes, including a hefty amount of content, and providing really cool music makes Unexplored an overall average title. It's still fun to explore, but the game's lack of flair inhibits the desire to try another round, and the gameplay alone isn't enough to sell it.

Unexplored is going to be one of those games you are going to love or hate I think. Either way all I can say is this; let the game grow on you. It certainly has it’s charm, and the rewards you get for persisting are worth the playtime.

While UnExplored leaves a lot to be desired in the way of graphics, it has its own charm in its aesthetic which is backed up by the bitchin music that follows you on your dives. Even in its shortcomings, I found UnExplored to be redeemable and the amount of angry, annoying, pleasurable fun was worth far more than any downsides. Can I really be bothered by a lack of an overall storyline when each dungeon run has its own substory? Can I really complain about some graphic inequality with AAA games when each time I play is unique and a lot of fun? Well, I can’t see how I could do that, maybe just don’t bring it up to the people that picked up No Man’s Sky on its first day…
